WELCOME TO EXPANSION FLEET !
 Expansion Fleet is a free online forum-based roleplay game, active since January 2002.
The story of Expansion Fleet is based in the Star Trek universe, after the return of the U.S.S. Voyager from the Delta Quadrant. Starfleet soon learned about all the dangers of the Delta Quadrant, and realized they might be facing more threats than just the Borg, Species 8472 and the Dominion...To establish a new presence in deep space, Admiral Vorak is put in charge of a whole fleet: one large station and a fleet of ships, with a new task: to boldly go where no one has gone before.

While this installment of Star Trek: Expansion has come to a close, we're not about to just go home and give up! Over the past few months, we've been writing up the premise to a whole new RPG (based in EF's reality, of course), and have built an entirely new website to match, as you can now see for yourself!
We invite you to have a look around... you'll find many areas of the old site back on this one too, but often with improved features. Remember that we are creating a whole new RPG here, with a whole new cast. Please, do not try to retain your character from this RPG, but rest assured, your character will still exist. Avalon Station and her fleet will go on, but we've gotten all we can out of this band of characters and ships, and it's time to move on.
So regardless of whether or not you were already a member of EF before, you will need to sign up again. Please do so on the HOME page FIRST, as the site is built to automatically create an account on the forums once you do this. When you sign up on the main site, you'll find that the forum has already signed you up and logged you in. Do NOT try to make an account on the forums independently, for our sake. It could cause some weird things to occur.
We wish you lots of roleplaying pleasure on the new Expansion Fleet website!

Here at ExpansionFleet, we try to maintain a standard style for posting, so that others who may not be familiar with a specific form do not become confused between thoughts, actions, speech, communication channels, etc. Here are a few of our recommended posting keys, and will be universally accepted here.
---Type 1: ASCII Form---
Normal text:
Admiral Karelia stepped onto the Operations Deck.
Speech:
"Lieutenant, please charge the main deflector."
Communications:
=A= Karelia to Vorak =A=
"Sir, could you meet me in the conference room?"
=A= Karelia out =A=
Alternate Communications:
=A= Admiral Vorak, could you please meet me in the conference room? =A=
NOTE: For alien communications, substitute the =A= symbol with @.
Thoughts or telepathy:
~"I really hate writing these god-awful reports."~
~"Don't worry, they cannot hear us. I am speaking directly into your mind.~
Sound Effects:
"I was just reading the report and then..."
*clunk*
"What was that?"
---Type 2:Novel Form---
Normal text:

Sound Effects:
I was just reading the report," Karelia said, "and then..."
There was a sharp clunk noise coming from within the ceiling. "What was that?" the admiral exclaimed.
BONUS - Italic station/starship names:
Captain Taurik stepped proudly onto the bridge of the Rivendell.
NOTE: It is not expressly required that you post in one of these forms, but failing to do so will not only piss people off and make them more reluctant to acknowledge you, but will also severely curtail your chances for a promotion or for an assignment on an exciting mission, because no one wants to work double-duty just to read your post. |
