Messages - John Moore

Marine Command Center / Breifing Room

John walked into the briefing room and saluted the two officers.

"General. Colonel." he said, before assuming a more relaxed posture. "What fun have you got planned for us now?" he asked. He hadn't been in the group with Brown, and so had had the luxury of considering his part of the mission fun.

John chuckled a little. "Sounds fun, Sir, but I think that that's a privilege we should leave to some of the newer Privates. Afterall, they have to have some sort of induction ritual, don't they?" he said, winking.

U.S.S. Normandy / Mission 5 "The Great Blue Yonder"

John floored the accelerator on the Elongated Puma APC, speeding towards one of the downed lifepods. Calling back to the marine in the rear turret, he said; "Keep an eye on the sky, Corporal! We're going to pick up as many as these babies can hold and take them back to the Lothlorien! And I don't want any of them harmed by enemy fire, understood?"

"Sir, yes Sir!"

As they reached the first life pod, they found four crewmen - three engineers and a security officer, all holding Type IIs, though the security officer the only one holding it confidently.

Moore  skidded the Puma to a halt, and opened the hatch for them to get in, before moving off with the other two APCs driven by his men.

((Still not entirely certain what equipment the marines would have other than what's loosely mentioned, but I'm assuming we'll have some sort of APC variation of the Puma, as everyone needs a way to get a lot of people around quickly, and aircraft aren't always the best way at doing that.))

<USS Lothlorien, Marine deck>

"Men, here is where we show those split-chinned squid-headed sons of bitches that they could not have picked a worse enemy than the Federation. We are going to blow the hell out of those dumb bugs until we don't have anything left to shoot them with. Then we will strangle them with their own living guts! Am I right, Marines?"

  "Hoo-Rah!"

"Mmhmm, damn right I am. NOW GET MOVING! You know the drill, show those flyboys how things are supposed to be done!"

((OFF: Sorry, couldn't resist using that speech http://www.expansionfleet.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>))

"Mmph."

John tried to sit up, but was pushed down by one of the medics. His head felt like it had been split in two, and his shoulder felt worse.

"Urgh. What happened?"

~You were shot in the shoulder and hit on the head during the fighting~ said a voice in his head. ~I did my best to heal you, but I am young, and not strong enough to heal a wound of that magnitude. All I could do was save our lives. We were both made unconscious.~

"You were knocked out in the attack, Lieutenant. When I saw you go down, I was sure it was fatal, but somehow you managed to survive." the medic smiled down at him. She was quite attractive, and looked like not an ounce of dirt had touched her compared to the rest of the people in the room they were in.

~Your....pheromones are rising. Watch it..~

John smiled inwardly at his symbiont's joking caution. "Thank you" he said to both of them. "I need to report in to the Colonel. Where can I find him?"

"Colonel Balkazar is sleeping, and I suggest you do the same." she said, pushing him down onto his back again.

John stood ready behind a barricade to the right of and behind Balkazar, and turned to check that his men were prepared.

"Here they come to die." he murmured, almost to himself.

"MARINES! ATTEN-TION!"

This was the fourth time he had ran the drill with the Marines, and they were slowly improving. He wanted to make sure that they were ready for anything, and the first thing they needed was discipline. Discipline they didn't yet have.

"MARINES! GIVE ME THIRTY!"

"Raszagal, we have a few Betazoids here like myself. Is there any way that you could teach us to detect their thoughts? Or at least block them from making themselves unnoticeable to us?"

"Argh!"

John shouted out as he was thrown backwards onto a piece of wreckage behind him by a shot to the shoulder. "That's gonna sting in the morning" he grunted through gritting teeth, vaguely aware that nobody would have heard him, and the comment was meant mainly to raise his own spirits slightly, as he pulled himself back up to fire again at the Heraan.

"Sir! We need to do something! We can't carry on like this forever!" he yelled at Balkazar.

"Sir. Perimeter secure." reported a Staff Sergeant under John. "Hostiles are neutralised." he said, smirking, slowing down the final word.

"Don't get too cocky, Sergeant. Don't forget we still need to make sure that the Omega Molecule is destroyed and get off this planet." John reprimanded. He reached up with his left hand - his rifle still in his right, scope smashed clean off - and wiped blood from a cut above his eye.

"Yessir. Sorry Sir." the Sergeant said, straightening his pose.

John looked around as he heard the Colonel mention the ship. He looked it over, and it looked almost untouched by the battle that had been raged through the night. "Sir!" he suddenly called out, an idea coming into his head.

"The Heraan. There were commanders in the battle, there must be some with some of their cloaking armour. We might be able to salvage some of the units, fit them to some of our marines."

John blinked a few times. His vision was......odd. Everything was odd colours, and looked warped. He tried to clear it from his vision, but to no effect. It felt as if he was detached from the situation somewhat.

Trying to make himself believe that nothing was up with him, he joked to Colonel Balkazar; "Can't we just kick it, Sir?"

"Colonel, General; My team is ready. We going to be guard duty, or we going with the General?"

~I keep hearing them say the word 'Omega', what does that mean?~

~It's part of the ancient Greek alphabet on Earth~

~Greek? Are they they same as Salmons?~

~No, they are not the same as Salmon! They....ah, just shut up.~

U.S.S. Normandy / Mission 3: "Rescue and Retrieval"

"Sirs, if I may.." John spoke up, after having listened to the discussions for a short while.
"If I read correctly the datafiles on New Orleans class ships, they're equipped as standard with 6 Stafleet Avenger class Interceptors. Now, they should be more than adequate enough to handle the small amount of fighters the Felians might have. If those interceptors can make sure that this area" he indicated a clearing on the map "is clear, we can send some marines in in a Pelican to secure it. Once the area is secure, then we can move the rest of the Marines in. A small detachment would stay back to guard the DZ, while the other groups would go to find the Delta flyer and the missing personnel." he ventured.

The other 20 knew they were following John. "Get saddled up! Our target is the Delta Flyer! It may or may not be in the main structure of the outpost, so keep your eyes open and alert me THE MOMENT you see anything."

He climbed into the Puma and took the driver's seat.  The general emotions coming from the Marines was calmness. They had done this sort of thing dozens of times in the past.

Once everyone was on a Puma, they set off at high speeds towards the estimated location of the Flyer.
