Dolan replied, "Captain, it might give us a little more time if we approach the planet from the side opposite from where the cannon is.  We could then enter the atmosphere and hopefully get low enough that the weapon can't target us.  We then beam the marines a short ways from their destination and continue around the planet until we are on the opposite side again and we could make our escape then."

<HK was keeping up relatively easily with the speeding Puma's as they raced for the cannon, he received orders from Balkazar and broke off from formation>

Dolan wondered why Rajnus seemed to be giving his XO the cold shoulder when they entered the ready room.  Dolan didn't pursuit that trail of thought and soon began working on enhancing the sensors so that they were more efficient and could use less power while performing equally or even better than before.  He hoped he would have time to visit the holodeck before the ship reached its final destination.

"We've got six Pelicans ready to go," she said. "We can mount them with microtorpedo pods and lock the Pumas on the belly. With careful timing, we'll have six Pumas at full combat speed before they hit the ground, not to mention the air support. We can also transform a number of the escape pods into combat drop pods, if there's anyone brave enough to sign up for the ride."

"I hope that's not his reasoning, because that's incredibly immature. Of course, I'm not surprised when you consider the fact that he's an impressionable droid from the Delta Alliance. Probably spent too much time around those damned Torrans."

Raszagal began to leave the corner, but she turned back around for a moment. "And he and I are nothing alike. I find such an idea offensive."

*Lilque chuckles to herself at the thought of marine relations*

"Sir, may I suggest you do a evaluation on your marines before throwing them into a combat situtation. There seems to be some hostilities amongst them and I do believe I can run a quick but efficient evaluation on the marines and help you to decide the best possible positions with each. Or at least to determine where not to put them." she suggested calmly.

"Richard whats this?" Rajnus asked nodding to the 2 security guards.

"Dolan, how do you feel about a little stroll?" Rajnus asked Dolan with a semi grin creasing across his face.

"Alright Biggins, this is what we will do.  We will do what Dolan suggested and come from the opposite side of the planet.  We will drop shields and transport the marines down in less then 5 seconds.  Then jump into Warp the moment they planet side.  Understood?, you will have maybe 2 seconds to do this in.  But im sure you wont mind the pressure." Rajnus said as he leaned back in the command chair.

OOC: sorry to burst your techical manual, but according to "the Star trek encyclopedia" written by majel barrett and Michael okuda, the top speed for any Ambassador ship is Warp 9.9 in emergency situations which can be used for 12 hours max. examples being USS Horatio NCC - 10532 and the USS Excalibur NCC-26517.

"And im begining to find your attitude against fellow Marines annoying.  I guess I should try and get into contact with Tech or Legudon to give you your own damn butt whooping because your acting like a arrogant child." Balkazar said as he left the corner and went over to make sure his marines were ready.

"Control yourself, Rena.  I wont have my XO have her feelings from the past to dictate her actions in the present.  So control yourself.  As for your duties, I was merely making it clear that our past cant dictate our present circumstances.  As for your heart, I am sorry I broke it but it was needed since our jobs in the Federation took us to different parts of the galaxy.  So dont get sassy with me on the bridge.  Is that understood?" Rajnus told Rena calmly.

"Maybe, Raszagal.  Ill need to speak to you after this, in private.  As for you what kind of Vehicles we usually dont bring tanks along, they are too slow unfortunately, quickness and timing will be a neccessity.  We will have the Puma's transformed into APC's and outfit them with heavy weaponry on the assault Puma's.  One of the APC Puma's is being transformed into a command post since this is the sort of mission where timing and communications between troops will be essential." Balkazar said looking around to see if their's anything else.
