Title: Mission 13: "The Heist"
Post by: Givrillian Sarpedon on January 11, 2008, 08:16:40 PM
"Er..yes, Captain." Sarpedon said, a little confused. Normally, he had more specific directions that '20 lightyears somewhere over that way', but he supposed that he could live with it. As they cleared the station, he used the astrometric charts to find an empty area of space, '20 lightyears somewhere over that way', and began warming up that jump drive.

Overhearing T`lana's comminque with the Captain, he 'pointed' the ship in the direction of travel, and came to an all-stop. The jump drive warmed, the ship shot forward, faster than any Warp drive could take it.

A short time later, the ship emerged from it's faster-than-light travel, coming once again to a complete stop. This time though, the only thing surrounding them were stars.

"Jump complete."

"On my way," Luke responded, tapping his com badge just after he picked up a phaser rifle.

Luke entered the ship bay three minutes later, he strapped a tricorder to his belt as he walked. He eyed the foreign ship as he walked towards it, feeling a sense of anxiety. Oh well, I got myself into this.. He thought to himself, gripped the handle of his phaser.

Chaya Sar activated the hidden switch on the Blue Harvest's ramp. As it lowered, Chaya watched T'lana and the rest of her new found Starfleet friends disappear, each in a white glow.
Chaya then tossed the Viper's key to Odona Covell and gestured Aeryn Kae to get into the Blue Harvest and climbed the now lowered ramp.

Inside the Corellian Stock Light Freighter, Chaya tapped the airlock cycle. As she did so the ramp raised and the inner door hissed shut.
Chaya Sar sprinted to the Cockpit and closed the small compartments door.

@"I suggest you strap yourself in Aeryn."@

@"Odona, take off immediately."@

Chaya then crossed her fingers and activated the Blue Harvest's engines. To her surprise and joy, her pride and joy's engines turned over immediately.
Chaya turned the freighter 180 degrees to face the Hangar, which it complied easily on it's powerful Repulsorlift Engines. The massive Ion Engine was next, which ignited in response to Chaya's command. The Blue Harvest shot out of the Hangar and angled towards the now decloaked Rivendell. Her Viper followed, piloted by Odona.

Landing in the Rivendell's spacious Hangar, both the Blue Harvest and the Viper landed safely. Both vessels' engines shut down in response to their respective pilots.

Chaya opened the airlock and ramp and walked down the ramp, once it had finished lowering to the deck.

"I need to work on the Patience bit, I am not good at it" Sitting down he took a swig of the juice before continuing "Tell me more about these starfleeters, I am curious about them and why they would risk so much to rescue us."

T'Kar found himself on the Cardinal Virtue with Taurik. The only thing running through his head was ~today is a good day to die. today is a good day to die~ Finally he got his mind to think something else as he saw Taurik take a joystick. He decided to take engineering, though he could be used at all stations. "Captain, would you like me to engage the warp drive, or shall I reroute power to the weapons?" said T'Kar to Taurik

Taurik tapped his communicator. "I will meet you soon, ensign."

By the time the thurokiir arrived at his room, Taurik was able to stand again. "You wanted to see me, Dechtakar?" the captain asked.

"Yes, and you know why, master," came the response. "I couldn't help but feel your expanding presence. In fact, something tells me that many of the Order felt it as well."

"I could not control it," Taurik said. "At first, it seemed harmless, but as I reached further, I seemed to be pulled outward, until I could not stop expanding."

"You know, master, that none of the Order have ever been able to touch Nil'kemorya as you just did. The rest of the council must know of this, if they do not already."

"Yes," Taurik sighed. "I understand."

Dechtakar turned to leave, but paused at the door. "Master Techerakh told you, Taurik, that he believed the Nil'kemorya's embodiment was among us. What he didn't tell you is that he believes it is you."

Luke nodded, "Yes," he replied shortly. Oh so that's his name! He turned his head slightly and glanced(Or checked out) Ensign Tigerlead, he needed to keep a visual image of everyone in his head. So now all there's left to do is find out where his Counsoler's office is.

Aeryn was surprised to hear Odona's voice in her mind, and as if on cue, the alien guard came and adjusted a setting on Odona's collar, and the blue glow from the Force-dampener increased.

"Do not provoke him," she whispered. "These aliens are quite brutal, and I do not doubt their willingness to kill unruly prisoners. I would not wish to inform your master of your death by their hand."

As soon as both extra-galactic ships had landed, T'lana's Tricorder counted down to 3 seconds.

=A="Mr. Sarpedon, jump."=A=

The Heraani Space Station exploded in a brilliant white-hot fireball. A shockwave radiated out from the place the space station used to be, just as the Rivendell distorted. The Jump Drive was doing it's work, folding spacetime to create a wormhole and stabilizing that wormhole with massive amounts of Exotic Matter.

The jump-corridor, or colloquially known on Earth as a wormhole, lasted 3.26 seconds and was replaced by a flash of light and stars. The Rivendell was also no longer being distorted, as spacetime returned to normal.

They had made it...

Chaya Sar took a sip of her Jawa Juice and savored the flavor, it had been a long time since she had drank one of her favorite drinks. Chaya Sar drank the whole beverage down before replying to her apprentice's question.

"Ah...that was nice." Chaya then looked to Odona and stated. "There mission to these Heraani and their space station was for more than just to rescue you and Aeryn, They required a datacore as well. But I am pleased that they also assisted in your rescue. Remember that kindness is never a risk, it is the selfishness of others that is detrimental."

Chaya continued, "In this section of this galaxy, their appears to be several major powers vying for supremacy, or simple survival. Starfleet is the military and exploration arm of a republic called the United Federation of Planets."

Orpheus had already begun plotting the slipspace coordinates as Chief Sarpedon took the ship to warp. Eight seconds remained, then seven... five... three... one...

The Rivendell dropped out of warp, with the Heraan in close pursuit. The jump drive was held at near-critical power, and as soon as the ship was below light-speed, Orpheus engaged the jump with electric precision.

Three-point-two-six seconds later, the Rivendell emerged from slipspace, twenty lightyears from their previous position. Since their warp trail had been masked, it would take the Heraan precious moments to realize that they were no longer in pursuit.

"I'm continuing to transmit the distress call, Captain, but there's no guarantee anyone will hear it, much less be close enough to respond in time."

T'lana looked at the PADD which gave a basic low down on the Cloaking Field Generator's operations, very basic.

"First you will need to tap into the EPS grid, to provide at least 9000 volts to the unit. Then the device will need to be plugged into the command and control bus and finally you will be required to connect the device to the hull, for the electromagnetic field to be generated successfully. The ship should be shielded enough for the resulting electromagnetic interference."

Taurik walked out of the conference room, and toward the turbolift. "Lieutenant Beta," he said, "come with me, we'll be going on an away mission. The captain tapped his communicator badge. "Lieutenant Stevens, Ensign T'Kar, please report to the main hangar bay."

Taurik and Beta slipped into the turbolift, and it moved through the turboshafts within the vessel, depositing them on Deck Thirteen. By the time Taurik and Beta walked through the large hatch door, Stevens was already there, as was half of T'lana's team.

The captain stepped over to the Cardinal Virtue, an exotic, white alien vessel of unknown origin, large enough to dwarf the Type 9 shuttles several times. Taurik walked briskly up the ramp, and along the single corridor to the cockpit. Sitting down at the helm chair, he keyed in several ignition commands for the main thorium reactor, and the ship began to power up.

"Alpha Team, report to the Cardinal Virtue, and I will begin the preflight checklist."

"Yes Sir." Beta said, as he helped T`Kar lift Lieutenant Stevens up, so that he was supported on one of each of their shoulders.

"Ensign. The Captain's fight will have no doubt drawn some attention to us. I am also unsure whether the Cardinal Virtue will respond to my commands, or the Captain's alone. So we will head straight to the nearest Heraani transporter pad, and beam onboard from there. There will likely be Heraan guards, so be prepared."

His instructions given, he and the Ensign carried their 'package' down the corridors of the Heraan space station. They stuck to the shadows as a precaution, and managed to hide from the sight of any passing soldiers - heading towards the former resting place of the computer core. Luckily, there were no Elites, or they would have been detected hidden or not.

They eventually found their way to the transporter room, and Beta took a brief look inside. There were five Heraan guarding it - all regular soldiers. The Elites had probably gone after the Captain and T'lana's away team.

Beta slowly crept towards the side of the doorway, and then shot out at the Heraan standing to one side of it inside the room, slamming the butt of his rifle into his chest with all the synthetic strength his holographic form could muster. He then quickly kicked out at the guard on the other side of the door, and fired his rifle at a third guard across the room, quickly modifying his holographic structure to allow an energy bolt to pass right through him and hit the wall behind. ~That was too close~ he thought to himself.

Tigerlead looked at Mr. Voison who was crawling near a Heraani ship ~Well that's looks like a good defensive position... or a good place to hide~ Tigerlead smiled at his own thoughts that a Federation security officer would hide from anything. Suddenly a strange noise started to repet itself as red lights flashed all around the hangar ~Well that definetly not a good sign~ but his thoughts were suddently intrerupted by a Heraani that was walking in the hangar. Tigerlead ducked, rolled and fired his phaser rifle directly at the Heraani's head almost choping it off. "We've got company" he yelled towards his security colleague that was positioning himself to shoot. "Fire at will!"

Luke slouched on the couch he was perched upon and stared at the blank wall in front of him. Rather confused he felt he would do more damage than good if he left his quarters. Or maybe that was his fear of crowds kicking in again. Never the less, he did not plan to move unless summoned upon.

"Ah, welcome." Beta said, smiling. "As you have no doubt guessed, I am Lieutenant Junior Grade Holographic Officer Beta, the Chief of Security and Tactical on the Rivendell." He spoke as if it was normal to state full names and titles in regular conversation. "I believed it would be...good, to meet with my team and allow us to acquaint ourselves."

"You are Ensign Tigerlead, yes? And Ensign Voison?"

Noticing the assignment of Tigerlead to an away team on his security console in his office just before he left to begin his rounds, Beta decided instead to head to the bridge to take the relieved Ensign's post at Tactical, assigning one of the NCOs to take his rounds for him.

Upon reaching the Bridge, he found only a few officers there, plus Chief Sarpedon. The Captain and T'lana were not present, and so he simply made his way straight to tactical.

He found, however, that the Tactical console had been locked, and initially denied him access. ~Odd~ he thought to himself, as he worked to overcome the lockout.

Chaya Sar nodded to T'lana and activated her Lightsaber, the 1.25m blue colored plasma energy blade, coalesced into existence the instant the weapon was activated.

Chaya then walked down the Heraani hall using force-sense, to find the Heraani and any they encountered she used the force and the Lightsaber to dispatch with the efficiency of a skilled assassin, but with the calmness and focus of a synthetic being.

The Heraani Elite took longer, but their still primitive psionic abilities and their lack of finesse and training in the art of the sword, were no match for the powers of the force and the Lightsaber training of the Jedi Order.

There were a couple of times that the elites had nearly got through, but they would have only nicked her and with T'lana's obviously skilled marksmanship with the Compression Rifle, gave Chaya a chance to gain the upper hand.

About an hour of constant battle, Chaya Sar finally got a reprieve and a chance to rest and wipe the sweat from her brow. Panting slightly, her throat was dry from the effort, but after two minutes, she was ready to continue.

T'lana, Taurik, Chaya Sar, Odona Covell and Aeryn Kae were literally running for their lives. T'lana's Tricorder beeped and she took it out to view: One Minute to self destruct.; appeared on the screen. T'lana put back her Tricorder, just as they entered the Hangar Bay.

"Tigerlead, Voison, Captain, Morgan and Larial, prepare for immediate beam out."

As all three ran to T'lana's side, she tapped her comlink.

=A="Computer, five to beam up."=A=

All five Starfleet Officers left on the Heraani Station were beamed back to the Kelata, in a white colored matter-stream.
Just as the Tricorder counted down: Thirty Seconds to self destruct.

T'lana went straight the Helm and sat down as soon as the Transporter transitioned them onto the Kelata.

T'lana fired up the Kelata and set course back for the Rivendell's last known coordinates. It's hard to find a ship that is cloaked, luckily for T'lana the Rivendell wasn't moved and that the departure coordinates were the same.

T'lana docked the Kelata and deactivated all the Stealth Ship's systems. Lowering the ramp, T'lana accessed the Rivendell's main computer and deactivated the cloaking device, before leaving the Kelata to await the return of the other ships and the Jedi.

Tricorder: Twenty seconds to self destruct.

--Onboard the Gallifreyan cruiser Sanctity--

Dechtakar sat in the hovering seat, several meters above the other Gallifreyan crew onboard the Sanctity. As Thurokiir, that was his right.

The Sanctity and one other Gallifreyan vessel had been on patrol in this area, and had picked up a distress call from a Starfleet ship, the U.S.S. Rivendell. Given their recent alliance with the Federation, Dechtakar ordered his ship to investigate. Not to mention, if memory served him correctly, that was the ship that Master Taurik commanded. "Are we in range yet," Dechtakar asked impatiently.

"No, Thurokiir," came the reply from one of the Gallifreyans below. "But we will arrive in only a few minutes."

Dechtakar was unsatisfied. "Transfer more energy to the drive systems, and warm the lines for firing. Master Taurik is undoubtedly facing many Heraan if he sends a distress call."

The two Gallifreyan attack vessels rocketed toward the source of the distress call at their maximum possible speed.

Chaya Sar got up from the lounge and made her way to the Autochef with her empty cup, refilling it.

"Yes yourself. To know yourself is to know others, we are all connected in the force. As for military structure, not dissimilar to the Imperial Navy. Or the galactic Republic before that."

Chaya retrieved the now full cup of Jawa Juice and also ordered two sliced Bantha meat, n'naise and salad sandwiches. Taking the two sandwiches back to the Dejarik Table, Chaya went back and got her refreshed cup of Jawa Juice and returned to the lounge.

"Enjoy, you must be hungry. If you need more, please do not hesitate to use the Autochef."

Title: Mission 13: "The Heist"
Post by: Chaya Sar on January 11, 2008, 09:29:02 AM
Jedi Master Chaya Sar didn't know what to do with herself, when everyone left to perform their duties. So when everyone dispersed, she firstly went to Ten Forward, at least that's what she thought it was called.

In Ten Forward, Chaya tried to order a cup of Jawa Juice, but to her surprise and her dismay, the barman had no idea what she was talking about and looked at her as though she was nuts. To prevent the barman from calling security to take her to some resident for the insane, Chaya told him that she was not from this galaxy and had no idea what drinks, alcoholic or otherwise was available.

From the range of drinks that the barman could provide for her Chaya liked the sound of beer and Romulan Ale. Ordering one of each and asking the barman how much she owed him, Chaya was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was free. That didn't stop Chaya giving the barman a five credit chit and refusing to let him give it back to her. Chaya Sar sat down at an empty table and tried the Romulan ale first. Although slightly different, the Romulan Ale was not dissimilar from Jawa Juice anyway. Strange isn't it? Those little bits of synchronization that the universe tossed at you.

Loving the Romulan Ale so much, Chaya downed the rest in just one gulp and moved on to the glass of cold beer, once again making short work of the beverage.

Chaya sat there for a while, just staring out into space, reminiscing about her home galaxy, but not missing the Jedi Order as much as she thought she would. But hey, at least it was a job, but one with no return. But that wasn't the main thing playing on her mind, the one thing she was trying to cope with, was her feeling of helplessness. Wondering moment to moment, how she could go and rescue her apprentice and the Jedi Knight that paid for passage to Naboo on the Blue Harvest.

If Chaya was still in her home galaxy - of which Chaya discovered the humans called Andromeda, she loved that name, sounded exotic - she would simply take off after them in her Viper regardless of the circumstances. But she wasn't in her galaxy anymore and therefore had no idea where to go, even her new found friends had no idea about most of their own galaxy, so what was a girl to do. Nothing much apparently, except of course to feel guilty with a side helping of remorse.

Chaya Sar shook herself out of her revelry and decided to go down to the Shuttle Bay, where her Viper was. Being so sensitive in the force, having one of the highest sensitivity ratings recorded in over 5000 years, working on starships gave her comfort, they were tangible. Starships also allowed her to do the one thing she ever dreamed about, ever since she was a little girl back on Altera, travel to distant worlds.

Chaya Sar took out the tool kit, opened the Viper's propulsion systems access panels and got straight to work.

T'lana looked fully at Commander Freeman, "Commander, spin up the Jump Drive, then meet me at the Keleta.

T'lana, as with the rest of the group, had to step over a lot of bodies. The female Vulcan counted at least 250 Heraani bodies, but her assessment was made difficult by the fact that they were not whole bodies. Heads, arms and legs, as well as two halves of the one body, made it difficult to count, even for a Vulcan.

T'lana could see the remorse on Chaya's face and thought there were times the young woman was going to cry. She admired Chaya's ability to maintain her emotions, despite her youth, obviously due to the training Jedi receive, worthy of the Vulcans themselves.

Sarpedon ran down to the shuttlebay, and boarded one of the shuttles, launching it as soon as it had reached maximum crew capacity. He had to dodge a few explosions as he left the bay with EPS Conduits blowing, and swung the small craft around. The damage to the mighty Prometheus starship was extensive.

=/\=All shuttles and escape pods, this is Chief Sarpedon. Form up on me, I'm gonna try and keep us out of this mess.=/\= he said into the comm, planning on keeping the small craft out of the kill zone between the Gallifreyans and the Heraan, while getting the pods to a Gallifreyan ship as soon as possible, allowing the shuttles to jump away to Avalon.

T'lana, at least what was left of her, was drifting in and out of consciousness. Bits of words and movement invading her mind, something was going on but she had no idea what. All T'lana could see was darkness and a shaft of whit light in front of her.

T'lana remembered many things she thought she had long forgotten of her 108 years of life, which for a Vulcan was still quite young, but eventful.

She remembered the first time she had met her future husband, they were born the same year and therefore would experience the seven year life cycle together. But that was not the only reason, they were also from two influential and noble families.

She loved her husband, as much as a species that control emotions and thoughts can love anyone and the psychic bond after their first union only strengthened that feeling of familiarity.

Their first and only child came along during the second year of their bonding and T'lana could remember the familiarity, the bond that could only be felt between mother and daughter. She also remembered losing a part of herself when she was informed that her husband and child were killed by a rogue Romulan Scout ship that was working for the Order of the Empty Crown, a group of fanatics that considered the lone shuttle piloted by T'lana's husband with their then six year old daughter as a passenger, was spying on their asteroid base, ten light years from Vulcan.

Trying to avoid the unexpressed pain and anguish of that loss, T'lana's brain moved forward in her memories, to another dark time in her life, working for the intelligence arm of Vulcan Security.

T'lana was tasked with a mission to Romulus. Intelligence reports had indicated that the Romulans had accepted Ambassador Spock's reunification because of an Obelisk that was discovered in an ancient pyramid structure on Romulus.

The second part of her mission was to test the prototype stealth reconnaissance vessel, the Kelata, that she had designed and help build. The first known Vulcan ship to use a Cloaking Field Generator, Quantum Slipstream Drive, Quantum Induction Core, Biosynthetic Computer system, Gravitational Engines and the most powerful weapon system ever designed on Vulcan, the Quantum Discharge Canons; neutron based particle beam weapons at Three Million electron Volts per shot. Ever since, T'lana regretted she had ever invented the damn things.

Her task for the primary part of the mission was to determine the legitimacy of the ancient Obelisk and to record the obelisk for further study.

What she found changed her life, what the intelligence office of the V'Shar ordered her to do afterwards made her join Starfleet.
She discovered that the writing on the Obelisk told of the true story of the split between the Vulcans and the Romulans.

Approximately five thousand years ago there was a battle between two groups, the followers of Surak and those that did not want to suppress their emotions and follow a path of pure logic. This is all well known, it's just the location was wrong. The split occurred on Romulus, not Vulcan as first thought and it was the followers of Surak who left for a new world, T'Khasi, which humans later called Vulcan.

When the V'Shar heard of this they ordered T'lana to destroy the pyramid and Obelisk with the Kelata's Neutron Canons. Like a good little tin soldier T'lana followed her orders, but what she didn't know at the time was that the Romulan Scientists that discovered the Obelisk were tricked by the V'Shar into returning to the dig site, just before T'lana was order to destroy it.

T'lana no longer wanted to remember those times, but she assured herself that all was not lost, for against orders a copy of the recorded writings on Obelisk and the Pyramid are still on file in the Kelata's Biosynthetic Computer.

A sudden pain shot through T'lana's body like a massive electric shock and was gone. She knew she was dying...wanting to scream out for help, wanting to live.

Chaya thought for a moment, "This has nothing to do with your request Captain, but as I asked your Admiral, the Viper's navicomputer requires star-maps to make the calculations for hyperspace travel. Any stellar cartographic data you have would be much appreciated. This of course is not a condition in allowing you to download the data, it is just a necessity for the operation of my Viper and the Blue Harvest."

"Very well, it is settled. I will lead a team onboard the Cardinal Virtue to retrieve the datacore. Commander T'lana will lead those onboard the Kelata, and will liberate the hostages during the commotion caused by my team's egress. I have also instructed Orpheus to prepare the cargo transporters for an emergency beam-out, so that they can transport either the Virtue or the Kelata in their entirety, in case we have trouble getting out."

"As for individual team members," he captain continued, "I'll allow you to choose that for yourself. Remember that our numbers must be small, or we'll never be able to remain hidden."

The Red Alert started to sound, and so Beta quickly dragged Lieutenant Stevens onto the transporter pad. "It sounds as if it would be smart for that command to be now, Ensign." He said, as the both beamed up to the Cardinal Virtue.

As soon as they were on-board, Beta sat himself at the Helm controls and moved them away from the station before scanning for the Rivendell. After finding the Federation vessel and double-checking that their cargo was on-board, he altered their course to bring them into the shuttlebay.

As soon as they were there, he issued commands to the computer. =/\=Computer: Emergency Site-to-Site transport.  Lieutenant Stevens to sickbay. Site-to-site transport; Captain Taurik's combadge to Cargo Bay 1. Erect a Level 10 forcefield around the cargobay, and only disengage upon my authority or the authority of my superiors.=/\=

Computer:Acknowledged.

Lieutenant Stevens and the computer core dematerialised in the familiar blue light.

"Judging by the sounds back on the station, Ensign, I suggest we do what we can to make the ship ready for immediate departure." he told T'Kar, before heading to the bridge.

As the others had not returned yet, and he was the senior officer on the bridge, Beta sat in the command chair. "Mr. Sarpedon. Prepare for immediate departure the moment the Captain and the Commander's away team are onboard."

Beta started activating the various weapons attached to the Rivendell's hull. Red beams of deadly energy lanced out from the phasor arrays, and pulsing torpedoes soared towards their intended targets, creating large, bright explosions as the Rivendell's shields shimmered blue. The ship rocked badly from the assault of the Heraan. "Captain, we're taking heavy fire. If there is anyway to speed up the jump drive warm up cycle, I suggest we do it."

Aeryn found her way through the sterile corridors to what seemed to be a lift. "Um... computer?" she asked.

The LCARS vocal interface chimed in response. Confident it was listening, Aeryn continued. "Where is the commander of this vessel?"

"Captain Taurik is on the main bridge," it replied.

"Take me there." With that, the lift began to move. Aeryn noticed another interesting amenity, in that the lift was obviously moving but provided no inertial feeling. This ship was one of the most luxurious she had ever seen, and the most fascinating part was that it was as if it was on accident. All of the luxury ships she had seen before were intentionally spacious and luxurious. But the Rivendell had a clean, scientific feel to it, while providing comfort at the same time.

The doors slid open and revealed a circular, white bridge, bathed in red bars of light from above. It appeared the ship was on high alert. Being careful not to interfere, she moved as close to the forward viewport as she could without stepping into the view of the captain in the central seat.

She found it odd that, while in her galaxy, starship commanders stood at an observation window issuing commands to their officers behind them, the commanders in this galaxy, or at least this particular group, sat in the center of their bridges, with their subordinates controlling panels along the walls.

Not an important observation, she realized, but vastly different all the same. It appeared to Aeryn that she really had some learning to do about these people. Despite the fact that she had certainly missed the conference on Naboo, she was hopeful that the Jedi Council would be equally pleased to hear of these new people.

(OFF: Aeryn doesn't yet know that return to her galaxy is all but impossible.)

IC: Before the captain left Morgan nodded at him to take T'lana with him.  "Live long and prosper Captain, I will keep the enemy's busy while you finish the evacuation of the Rivendell."
.
Morgan knew the Rivendell had no hope of surviving but he was sure as hell going to make sure that his ship would go out with a bang.  So when the other officers left the bridge Morgan intentionally stayed.

=A= Larial get to the Kelata and evacuate as many people as you can.  Be ready to beam me off the Rivendell when I tell you to. =A=

Knowing the drive system was offline Morgan decided to provide the enemy a little incentive not to fire on the Rivendell any further, well at least that's what he thought would happen.  Accessing what was left of the drive system controls and began rotating the ship with RCS thruster packs.  After the Rivendell gained sufficient rotational velocity he began venting the highly charged plasma into space around the ship.  This spread the plasma further out that it should of providing the escape craft with enough cover to leave the area.

"Damn" Morgan said to an empty bridge as he remembered the ships AI had not been evacuated with the rest of the crew.  Plugging his tricorder into the engineering console he quickly downloaded the AI program.  Turning back to an empty bridge he gave his ship one final look before leaving.  Morgan had always been sentimental and it once again proved to be a problem for the engineer, the helm console in front of him exploded sending Morgan flying towards the back of the bridge.  As he slipped into unconsciousness the last thought he had was what happened to my communicator?

-Maximum Safe Distance 500,000 kilometers-

T'lana deactivated her Tricorder and pocketed it, she quickly turned to Captain Taurik.

"Captain, I suggest we evacuate the station, now. The self-destruct has been activated. It states we have two minutes."

She nodded in the direction of the Computer Interface and then made her way to the door, making sure that everyone was following her.

Taurik steered the small blockade runner back toward the Gallifreyan battlecruiser, and deftly settled the ship down inside the alien hangar. He disengaged the engines and powered down the thorium reactor. Aware that the crew would be anxious to stretch their legs, he finally dropped the ramp at the aft end of the central corridor.

The Kelata's sensors showed basically everything that was occurring with Taurik, just not in detail, but as interacting dots.

The Kelata's Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system coupled with the Biosigns Sensors gave a PACMAN like view of events on the Station, of which the computer and T'lana could easily extrapolate from.

It appeared that Captain Taurik and his team had indeed made it to the datacore and T'lana wanted to warn him about the Heraani behind them, but could not because that would put the mission and the Rivendell in jeapordy.

T'lana kept the Kelata cloaked and Targeted the Main Hangar Bay and fired. The Kelata's Quantum Discharge Canons, an experimental weapon system using anti-proton particles, destroyed the stations main Hangar Bay door.

The Rivendell continued to take a beating; even with the Gallifreyans dividing their attention, they were a considerable force. Shields were all but gone, the hull was beginning to buckle, and several of the phaser arrays were burnt out.

"Continue firing," the captain said, anxious enough to have risen from his seat. "Even the Gallifreyans would be wary of numbers this slanted, and they will need help."

Unfortunately for them, one of the Rivendell's salvoes attracted the attention of one of the larger destroyers, even if only for a moment. The behemoth vessel loosed three deadly torpedoes at them, and they were approaching extremely fast.

"Sir, they're targeting our bridge!" came the voice of the AI construct.

"Evasive maneuvers! Hard to port! Orpheus, phasers, now!"

The AI responded defensively. "The starboard phasers are gone, there's nothing I can do!"

The captain slammed almost every key on his chair at once, hitting the comm button he was aiming for. "All hands, brace for impact!"

The torpedoes screamed at the listing Rivendell, her engines too damaged to carry them away fast enough. The Heraani torpedoes had very poor maneuverability, and missed their target. However, what they did land on was just as critical... the dorsal starboard nacelle assembly.

One torpedo slammed into the Bussard collector, shattering it completely. The second hit the nacelle pylon, nearly severing the entire nacelle. Were this all, the grim situation would have stayed at that. But the third torpedo struck directly on the nacelle grille, and breached the nacelle itself. This had the unfortunate side-effect of igniting a rather large cache of warp plasma.

The Rivendell reeled harder than Taurik had ever felt her do so before. If there were ever a time to worry, he felt this was it, and the ship's computer then confirmed his every fear.

"Warning: warp core breach in forty-five seconds."

The fleet master and his team arrived back onboard the Adjudicator, and met up with a large number of Heraani forces that were gathering to push the Borg off of the ship.

"The demon Borg have dared to set foot on our holy instuments of war!" he projected to the gathering. "We will show them our true mettle! If you should see any of your comrades fall to the Borg, know that their life is forfeit! Cut them down as if they were the demons themselves!"

The fleet master ignited both of his energy blades, and the Heraan behind him charged out, brandishing their plasma rifles or energy bracers. For the most part, they were mopping up the Borg that came near them, possessing greater strength and skill than a Borg drone. However, the Borg's advantage laid in in their sheer numbers. Rarely did a drone make it near the Heraan, but for every drone slain, there was another close behind.

Taurik and his team moves silently through the bowels of the station, occasionally ducking behind a bulkhead, while Taurik used his telepathy to distract the passing soldiers' attention from his team. While the Heraan were not aware of his team's presence aboard the station, the enemy's attentions were easy to divert.

It took them longer than Taurik would have liked to locate the datacore. Several times they were nearly discovered, and the captain was grateful that no Heraani elites passed their way, as they would be almost impossible to trick.

The datacore was, to his dismay, in the primary computer control chamber. Taurik ordered the team to advance slowly, with their heads down, in case there were patrols in the area. He silently crept up to the Heraani control console that had been deserted during the attack. Unfortunately, while he could read Heraan, his knowledge of advanced computer systems was insufficient.

"Lieutenant Stevens, please assist me. Beta, keep an eye out for patrols."

It was a clumsy operation, Taurik translating the Heraani characters for Stevens, and the lieutenant working blind from there. Eventually, the lieutenant began to memorize familiar commands by symbol recognition along, and was able to proceed until he decrypted the primary computer core.

"We need a portable storage device," Stevens said. "We'll never transfer this information to the Rivendell or the Virtue without being detected."

Taurik located a portable datacore across the room, and reached out with his telekinesis to bring it to him, but as soon as it left it's resting position, it was intercepted by a plasma bolt. Instantly, a second bolt flew from the same location, and struck Stevens square in the heart, dropping him instantly. Taurik drew his khala and deflected the third bolt harmlessly into the wall.

The Heraan, now located, was holding a single plasma rifle in his left hand. He leaped down from the upper terrace, landing gracefully. He tried to fire a few more shots at Taurik, but they were all deflected by the khala. The soldier, realizing he had fired at a Gallifreyan Sentinel, activated the bracer on his other arm, a weapon Taurik had failed to notice. The captain drew his second khala, and prayed that his recent training with Master Techerakh proved sufficient.

The Heraan, now obviously an elite of some sort, fired a few more shots as a distraction, while reeling back to swing his blade hard. Taurik blocked the plasma with one khala, and sturdied himself to catch the bracer with the other khala.

Realizing his advantage, holding off the elite's right-hand blade with his own left, he pushed both weapons away and kicked the Heraan in the chest. The alien lost grip of his rifle, and Taurik used his power to pull it away from the fight. Now at a severe disadvantage, the elite began to attack with a furious series of quick, glancing blows, but Taurik's twin khalai made it much easier to defend against.

In a moment of weakness, the Heraan let his guard down, and Taurik took the opportunity to throw the alien against the wall with a psionic pulse. Bruised, the alien tried to regain his stance, but was forced back to the ground after his arm, bracer and all, was quickly severed from his body with the end of Taurik's blade.

Taurik returned one khala to his belt, grabbed the weakened alien by the throat and lifted him, slamming his body to the wall. He pointed his weapon right into the alien's chest.

"I will give you one chance to repent, mongrel," were Taurik's only words, spoken directly into the Heraan's mind.

"You and all your kind will fall before the--"

The alien's words were cut off by the searing blade of energy that Taurik had forced through his chest.

<Main Engineering>

T'lana was at the Jump Drive station when the computer announced the Warp Core Breach. Several control panels, EPS conduits and optronic relays could no longer cope with the constant power surges, power losses and electromagnetic pulses that the Rivendell was constantly bombarded with. The newly repaired Jump Drive, exploded sending white hot shrapnel flying everywhere. One such shrapnel flew through the air slicing through T'lana's right arm severing it completely as it collided with the Jump Drive Console.

She was luckier than some of the engineering staff, who were killed immediately. Even T'lana's superior Vulcan brain could not control the pain that she felt in that instant, screaming out at the top of her lungs. Until suddenly she could feel no more pain, she knew logically that that was due to the severed nerves and loss of blood, which pooled in a green puddle on the deck.

T'lana fought every moment to remain conscious and use her brain to control her blood flow and to cause an excess of clotting agent in her blood.

There was no hope of saving the Warp Core, so T'lana went over to the Main Engineering Console pressing the Warp Core injection system. Thankfully it worked, well mostly.

The Main Warp Core and the two Secondary Warp Cores did eject, but the airlock system, nor the shield that was supposed to go into place when there was no Warp Core present, failed. Atmosphere began escaping out through the hole, like a hurricane.

"Evacuate Main Engineering NOW!" Exclaimed T'lana, trying to maintain her composer through the pain and blood dripping down her face from various contusions, her uniform in taters. But no time for modesty, as she made sure the able crew made there way out before the Bulkhead Door closed shut.

T'lana felt so weak and disoriented that she was working on adrenalin only. Miraculously she found the Jeffrey's Tube, making her way to find Morgan. Strange that at that moment all she could think of was that she had no children, no offspring for history to remember her by. The only child and husband she did have were killed.

Using her phaser at Level 12, the wreckage that was blocking her path to commander Freeman was reduced to its constituent particles. Morgan was conscious, thankfully, because T'lana new she had no hope of carrying him with only one arm.

T'lana's breathing was labored and raspy, as she laid down and tapped her comlink.

"Kelata, two to beam to the bridge of the Rivendell."

The Kelata obeyed, beaming them directly to the bridge.

"Sugges...suggest evacuating the Rivendell captain. Use the Shuttles an..and other shi...ships, escape pods non func...function...fuc...."

T'lana lost consciousness, barely breathing as she collapsed on the bridge deck.

CENTRAL PLEXUS: "ASSESS BIOLOGICAL STRUCTURES FOR ASSIMILATION. ASSESS TECHNOLOGY FOR ASSIMILATION."

Three drones materialized onto the bridge of the lead ship and prepared to grab several of the crew. Two more drones materialized in the engineering room, to assess the technology and to download the Heraani database from the main computer.

CENTRAL PLEXUS: "ASSESS TACTICAL ABILITIES. TACTICAL ASSESSMENT COMPLETE. PRIMARY WEAPONS OF ALIEN VESSELS PLASMA BASED. INFERIOR TO BORG TECHNOLOGY."

The two drones in engineering went straight to a computer console and accessed the ships data banks. The data transfer nodes attached to the cybernetic replacements that used to be arms of the drones, bypassed the computer's security system and began transferring the data back to their cubes Central Plexus.

One of the drones on the bridge was not so lucky, being dispatched by a Heraani Plasma Sword. It's transport node implant registered the drone's offline status and beamed it back to it's cube.

Another drone had actually caught one of the Heraani Officers by surprise and before he could react, assimilation tubules were stuck in his neck. With Borg nanoprobes coursing through his bloodstream, the first stage assimilation process had already begun. The drone then touched the stricken Heraani and beamed both of them back to its cube.

Standing up his vision came back into focus of the Rivendell's bridge "I was kinda hoping it wasn't this bad" he said to no one in particular.  Walking back to the engineering station he noticed minimal power still existed on board the USS Rivendell.  Communications both long and short range where out of the question as the grid arrays where smashed to hell, weapons were pretty much out of the question without a space dock and he didn't even bother to look at the drive systems.

Taurik could only stare into the static-ridden image that was his main viewer, for but a moment, at the battle between the Heraan and the Gallifreyans. He knew this ship would no longer support it's crew, but this was an order he had never given, and never wished to.

"All hands," he said sullenly, "proceed to the hangar bay or any functional escape pod. We are abandoning the Rivendell."

Taurik gently knelt over and scooped up T'lana, who was being cared for by Morgan and one other medic. The captain noted protest in the commander's eyes as he made for the turbolift, and looked him directly in the eye. "She will not survive unless she comes with me. This is a wound no doctor can mend in time. I promise you, I will take care of her."

He began toward the turbolift again, but stopped, without turning around. "Take the Kelata," he said. "Take as many with you as possible. I will do the same. May Adun smile upon you, Mr. Freeman."

Using all of his concentration, Taurik translocated himself, as well as his first officer, to the hangar deck. The loading ramp of the Cardinal Virtue had already been extended, and Taurik stepped up the ramp, down the hall, and into the crew quarters, where he laid the commander on one of the cots there. He tried his best to keep her stabilized, to continue breathing psionic life into her, but she was fading fast.

"Fleet Master!" came the frantic communication of the lead frigate's temporary commander. "The Borg have arrived, and are holding the Adjudicator in a tractor beam!"

The fleet master halted his search through a Starfleet cargo container. "Open all plasma banks, destroy them!" came his stern reply.

"They are seven vessels strong, fleet master! We are no match!"

"Seven cubes! By the Gods!" The elite warrior calculated for a moment. "Do not engage them in a space battle," he ordered. "Repel their attacks, but do not counter-attack. Draw them into a hand-to-hand conflict, where we have the advantage! Whether it is on the Borg vessel or our own makes no difference. We will be returning immediately."

The Fleet Master and his team quickly made their way through the dark corridors of the Rivendell, and boarded their transport vessel. Engaging stealth measures, they made haste for the Adjudicator at once.

OOC: Because I am bored, I am going to do a "did you know?"
Did you know that Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek was a fan of J.R.R. Tolkien. So much so that the Vulcans and subsequently the Romulans were based on the Quendi (Elves) from "The Lord of the Rings" hence their appearance.
Because I am really bored, here is another one:
Did you know that Star Trek was based on the 1956 movie Forbidden Planet, this was stated in Gene Roddenberry's autobiography Star Trek Creator. Forbidden Planet itself was loosely based on William Shakespeare's The Tempest, probably why Star Trek contains many references to the works of William Shakespeare.
Because I am really really bored, here is another one.
Did you know, Gene Roddenberry was also a fan of "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams. A nod to "Hitchhikers" was made in Star Trek: The Next Generation on the Bridge's Engineering Console, there is an LCARS button tagged "Infinite Improbability Drive", a type of FTL in the books aboard the Heart of Gold.

Chaya Sar smiled again, both at Taurik's attempt to make her feel better and the whole situation.

"To a point. No Jedi has exactly the same level of abilities in using the force, but we are all taught specific types of abilities. Jedi are peace keepers, so the abilities we train with are towards that end. In truth, once the force is unleashed, there is nothing a Jedi or unfortunately, a Sith, can't do. I apparently have the highest level of power in the force recorded in 5000 years, what ever that means. My apprentice is quite good at using the force, but like all apprentices he has more to learn. I believe Aeryn Kae is quite proficient as well. Sometimes force-users develop an extra ability in the force, for instance, a Jedi Knight that existed about 4000 years ago developed an ability called Battle Meditation, this allowed her to control the outcome of any battle. I myself, found out by accident, that I too have developed a few special abilities. One of them the council nicknamed half jokingly, Force-Shockwave. Luckily no one was hurt, apart from a few buildings. As the name suggests, I seem to have the ability to generate a radial explosion of force energy. I always consider it a last resort though, because nothing survives. Only one in one million Jedi develop special abilities, that doesn't make the majority any less powerful or important. We have no idea why this occurs and put it down to the will of the force."

Once the Cardinal Virtue was in place and the Kelata's sensors showed that Taurik and his team had beamed over to the Heraani Station, T'lana fired up the Kelata's Gravitational Engines.

The Kelata slid silently towards the Heraani Station.

=A="Chaya, this is T'lana. Prepare for docking with the Heraani Station, maintain your attack as much as you can until I give the signal."=A=

@"Acknowledged T'lana."@ Stated Chaya over the tight Tachyon Based communications system.

T'lana watched Chaya's Viper fly all around the Heraani Space Station, blasting the hell out of the thing with it's weapons. T'lana couldn't help but be impressed by the starfighter, as it's powerful engines kept it out of harms way, well most of the time anyway.

T'lana activated the Kelata's Quantum Discharge Canons and Quantum Torpedoes, ready to assist Chaya if need be. But the way she was going, T'lana knew that Chaya wouldn't need any help.

The Kelata's sensors showed that the Heraani Stations Defense Grid was completely destroyed. Thinking to herself, if only the Heraani were going to be that easy, at least where Chaya was concerned anyway.

=A="Chaya, this is T'lana, cease fire and maneuver your Viper ready for docking and hold."=A=

OOC: Thank you

IC: Tigerlead heard the intercom, while he was trying to hold his standing position as the Rivendell shook hard under the Heraani fire. ~I need to get out of here and fast... wait Voison he went to his quarters...~ he thought to himself.
=^= Computer! Locate Ensign Voison!=^=, the computer chimed and replied =^Ensign Voison is in his quarters =^=
Tigerlead hurried down the corridor that flickered with th red alert lights and random energy surges while trying to maintain his equilibrium. He reached Voison's room and almost went through the doors, he rang the buzzer but he waited like a fraction of a second like he wanted Voison just to materialize in front of him =^= Computer! Open door D4 Section 2 Alpha Security override Tigerleade Delta 4-9 =^= the doors swooshed open and as the shimmering light lit the room he saw Voison standing on the floor staring at the empty black wall, he grabbed him and almost carried him out while yelling "We need to get out of here NOW! The ship is falling apart!". Voison looked confused and replied with a cold "What?" but eventually he was running on his out following Tigerlead down the Jeffries tubes. "Where are we going?" said Voison. "Glad you snapped out of it Voison, we are getting out of here there should be a assault shuttle left... and there it is" said Tigerlead pointing to the shuttlecraft as they entered the hangar. They both jumped in and strapped themselves "Preflight sequence checked" said Voison. "Hold on tight we are getting out of here" yelled Tigerlead as the shuttles punched out of the Rivendell's hangar.
"Heraani fighter on our six" replied Voison. "Hold on trying attack pattern Theta 4-9" said Tigerlead as the shuttle heavily breaked and entered a tight roll ending up behind the figher, Tigerlead's orders were completed by his security mate even before he opened his mouth like Voison had read his mind "Firing phaser banks... traget neutralized" Voison stated followed by a cold "3 Heraani fighters in formation coming in fast at 1 o'clock".
Tigerlead looked up and said "Adjusting course. Arm photons, maxiumum yeld full spread"
Voison looked in shock "You do realize the targeting sensors will not lock on the photons at this speed and small range. plus we may get damaged also and what's with the head on collision course?" Tigerlead yelled annoyed "Just do it, i don't plan to shoot them down just calculate a detonation close to them the explosions will set them off course long enough for us to reach our destination. Set shields to maximum! Fire!"
The torpedo left the tube and spread into the warheads and seconds later they detonated in a bright sequence of lights... one Heraani fighter was hit head-on and exploded in a blueish fireball, the detonations disrupted the other two's course while the assault shuttle punched through at full impulse.
=@= This is Assault Shuttle Delta 5 from the USS Rivendell to Gallifreyan Battlecruiser, requesting permission to dock, coming in hot! =@= shouted Tigerlead while trying to outrun the Heraani fighters that returned on their intercept course.

Seven Borg Cubes exited transwarp just outside the sensor range of the Heraani Cruisers, but within sensor range of Borg Technology.

Still in the UNICOMPLEX, the Borg Queen scanned the telemetry data from the seven cubes in the vicinity of the USS Rivendell. The seven cubes, the Borg Queen was going to present to Captain Taurik and Expansion Fleet as a sign of good faith and would be under their command.

The Borg Queen didn't foresee this eventuality during her machinations and thought for a moment of what her next course of action would be.

Deciding to see what events would fold, the Borg Queen commanded one of the cube's to move into sensor range and stop 500,000km from the USS Rivendell. commanding it to give the usual Communications Hail.

<Borg Cube 23-958>

@"WE ARE THE BORG. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE."@

The Queen watched the visual interlink, to assess this new species and to see if they were afraid of the Borg or not. As the cube caught the lead Heraani Cruiser within a tractor beam.

Chaya Sar climbed out of the cockpit and activated the hidden switch that closes and locks the canopy. The canopy closed with a hiss on it's hydraulic arms, locking into place with a thump.

Chaya stood next Taurik and began to answer his question.

"Following me to Naboo in my freighter, the Blue Harvest, was my apprentice Odona Covell. As I am a Jedi Master, I was assigned an apprentice. He has been my apprentice for 9 galactic standard months and is almost ready for his trials, so he can become a full Jedi Knight."

Chaya Sar paused for a second, thinking of her apprentice.

"A Jedi Knight by the name of Aeryn Kae had booked passage on the Blue Harvest, for the trip to Naboo. Now they are being held captive by these Heraani of yours...I have let my apprentice down and our passenger."

Chaya Sar smiled at Taurik, but there was no happiness in that smile.

T'lana accessed the Transporter Grid and beamed the entire away team to the Hangar Bay.
Once they transitioned from the matter-stream, T'lana moved to where Chaya Sar was, looking at the Viper and then at the roundish vessel with two mandible-like protuberances out the front and a cockpit that was to the right of the right mandible and extending out from the main hull.

"Hmm, interesting."

T'lana and her team walked over to Chaya who had her strange weapon in her hand, but was inactive.

"I suggest Chaya, that you take point." T'lana then turned to her team. "Mr. Tigerlead, Mr. Voison guard the Hangar Bay, if any Heraani approach, do not hesitate to fire, the Heraani are telepathic. Mr. Freeman, do what you can to make sure the Blue Harvest is in working order. Larial, assist your creator."

T'lana thought for a moment, "Live long and Prosper."

T'lana then nodded at Chaya and activated the Compression Rifle that she collected before beaming off the Kelata.

T'lana tapped her communicator three times to indicate they were on board and then followed behind Chaya Sar.

Jedi Master Chaya Sar, had no idea what to do after landing the Blue Harvest on this so-called Gallifreyan vessel.

So after the Starfleet passengers had left her Corellian Stock Light Freighter, she had told one of the droids to clean the ship and then went about repairing the ship.
In actual fact the Blue Harvest had three droids on board; an Astromech Droid R7-D9 which was used for repairs and talking to the computer, as well as navigation if needed. A Protocol Droid 3DPD for translation, protocol and various other uses. A Medical Droid MD30 was the last on the list and the least used, spending all of his time in the Medical Bay, due in part because Medical Droids have dedicated systems, they can't multi-task.

Chaya found herself bored and in the engine room fiddling with the Hyperdrive that had actually been acting a bit lately, pining away the loneliness the best way she could, fixing her pride and joy.
Chaya had noticed the differences between her galaxy's vessels and this one's. For one thing, her galaxy's vessels were faster both at sublight speeds and Faster-Than-Light speeds. This galaxy's vessels, at least Starfleet one's, were built for comfort, where as her galaxy's vessels were built mainly for practicality and not for aesthetic value, except for luxury vessels of course.
From what she has learned of the Quantum Slipstream Drive, which is this galaxy's 'Piece De Resistance' of FTL Drive technology, it seems to work identically to the Hyperdrive of her galaxy, which is the only way to travel at FTL speeds.
Although there have been a couple of planets that developed the Warp Drive, but were quickly given Hyperdrive technology instead and indoctrinated into the galactic community.

That was one thing she found strange with this United Federation of Planets and their Prime Directive. In the Andromeda Galaxy, which is what these humans from Earth called her galaxy, she found out, more advanced sentients give less advanced sentients the technological know how to become part of the galactic community, even leaving technicians behind to assist the primitive sentients. The technicians showed them how to build and use interstellar technology, as well as the use of fusion reactor technology so they do not pollute their own atmosphere. Starfleet doesn't do that and when Chaya Sar found that out, considered that particular fact rather selfish. Starfleet assisted sentients that already had interstellar technology, so what was the difference.
Of course Chaya Sar new full well what the primitive sentients would do if they weren't shown exactly how to build and use interstellar technology, so it did take effort, but Chaya considered that the duty of all sentient life, to assist those who cannot assist themselves. How different, but similar the two neighboring galaxy's really were, it was quite interesting actually.

Chaya Sar had finished working on the Hyperdrive and went to her quarters to freshen up and change. After that Chaya went to the Main Hold, had something to eat and played Dejarik with Odona Covell. Their passenger Aeryn Kae, was busy by herself playing a hand-held electronic Sabacc game.

Chaya Sar considered just giving her new found Starfleet friends the technical schematics for Ion Drive propulsion and the Hyperdrive, but decided it would be best to wait until asked.

After playing Dejarik for a while, which Chaya was winning, she turned to Odona and Aeryn.

"So what do you two think of the situation we have found ourselves in? I personally believe that it is the will of the force that we have wound up here, but then..." Chaya Sar trailed off with her question, waiting for the thoughts of her subordinates.

"Good work Commander." Stated T'lana.

T'lana went over to the Cloaking Field Generator and activated it's internal computer, as per the instructions.

"Now go back to engineering Commander, to belay any suspicion. I shall go to the bridge, once you have gone to engineering, make an excuse to go to the bridge and use the engineering console their. Larial should stay here to make sure the Cloaking Field Generator works correctly and to assess any difficulties that could arise."

T'lana continued. "Computer, what is the location of Captain Taurik?"

Computer: Captain Taurik is in Shuttle Bay One.

T'lana nodded to Morgan and then left the Engineering Lab, making her way to the nearest turbolift.

"Deck 13, Shuttle Bay One." T'lana order the turbolift when she stepped in. In a matter of seconds, the turbolift came to an all stop and opened the two powered doors. Stepping out, T'lana made her way to the two large bulkhead doors and stepped through as they hissed open. A tertiary look around the bay, gave Taurik's exact position, standing next to Chaya Sar.

"Captain, if I may, we are set to go."

With that said, T'lana nodded and left Shuttle Bay One and got into the turbolift for the bridge. T'lana couldn't help but to be reminded of all the clandestine missions that she had had to do for the V'Shar. One of the reasons she joined Starfleet was to get away from all the secrets and now she was doing it again.

When the turbolift arrived at the bridge, T'lana left the turbolift and walked over to the Command Chair, that was vacated by Lieutenant Stevens.

"You have the bridge Commander." Stated Lieutenant Stevens, who went about his usual duties.

"Carry on Lieutenant." Stated T'lana, in true naval tradition.

T'lana logged in and made herself more comfortable.

"Report Mr. Givrilian? What is our estimated time of arrival in the Hera System?"

T'lana nodded to Mr. Freeman and made her way out of the conference room, stopping by the Bridges engineering console and spun up the Jump drive.

Turning to the Helm, she ordered,
"Mr. Sarpedon, calculate a ten light year jump, your discretion."

T'lana then headed for the turbolift and stepped in with commander Freeman in tow.

"Deck 13, Main Hangar."

As the turbolift shot down the the tube, T'lana tapped her comlink.

=A="Voison, Tigerlead, meet me at the Kelata.=A=

T'lana and freeman made their way to the Kelata and boarded the Vulcan Stealth Runabout as the ramp lowered in response to T'lana's vicinity.

Walking to the command cabin, T'lana activated the pre-launch start up sequence. The First thing to power up was the Quantum Induction Core, followed by the Slipspace Engine. The Gravitation Engines were next, followed by the rest of the Kelata's systems.

T'lana waited for the rest of her away team and turned to Mr. Freeman.

"Take the Tactical/Operations position please Commander. I believe Larial would be useful on this mission Commander, do you concur." Asked T'lana, stoically but softly.

There was a loud commotion that seemed to come from outside... wherever they were. Several of the guards ran out of the detention chambers, brandishing their weapons and projecting loudly about some attack.

"Covell," she called, unafraid now that the guards were gone or not paying attention. "There's a racket going on outside, these aliens must be under attack. Do you think Master Sar could pull off something like this?"

Aeryn struggled to decipher what Master Sar had said to her through the Force, but it was so faint and almost completely unintelligible, thanks to the Force-restricting collar.

(OFF: Things need to happen faster. I'd love to get this moving, but I (Orpheus) can't repair the Rivendell myself.)

Taurik reached out with his senses, and felt the space around him. Not the space within the room, but that of the space around the ship. It comforted him to stretch out, and the further he reached, the better it felt, the more it put him at peace. At the edges of his perception, he could feel Starbase Avalon, several lightyears away. He could feel Sordinan, the planet where he first encountered the Na'jigat. He could even feel the Ivor colony, at the edge of established Federation space. He had never felt this wonderful in his life, and sometimes, Taurik doubted he could keep his emotional control.

A realization came to Taurik, that he could, if he really tried, extend even further. He reached into familiar space, the Federation, and felt Bajor, Tellar, and eventually even Vulcan. His feelings reached to Earth, to Dytallix, to Minos, Cardassia, and to Q'o'nos, Romulus, Carraya. His senses seemed to carry themselves now, and he didn't even need to try. Eventually, all that he knew was as if it were right in front of him, and he reached in all directions. The Dominion, the Borg, the Kazon, all were on the edges of his sight.

Suddenly, the ecstasy turned to pain, as his consciousness completely left his body and shot out in all directions. He could see, could hear, could feel everything. It was more than he could handle, and Taurik could feel insanity creeping ever closer. Out of pure instinct, he pulled back, and his senses raced inward, until his consciousness was once again confined within his skull.

Taurik was on his hands and knees, breathing heavily with exertion and relief. Gallifreyan history had no record of such an occurance, but he knew what had happened. He had just merged with the spirit of the universe.

Right on cue, a communications panel buzzed. "Master," came the worried and awestruck voice of the thurokiir. "We have much to discuss. I will be there momentarily."

T'lana was too busy to respond to Morgan's illogical statement, because she discovered why the Jump Drive was no longer in free-spin and it had nothing to do with the available power. In fact the Jump Drive's dynamo was simply operating on inertia and was slowly spinning down.

T'lana quickly got up from her station and took the lift platform up to the above balcony where the Jump Drive sat.
Grabbing an emergency tool kit, T'lana opened the access panel to the Jump Drive, an unmistakable smell of ozone and burnt out electronics greeted her.

As a note to the crew of the USS Rivendell, you may have noticed that Captain Taurik and occasionally myself have used the term 'Slipspace' and 'Slipspace Engine'. This is a personal choice and a nod to the very popular video game: HALO.

In Expansion Fleet, or at least the USS Rivendell thread, the 'Slipspace Engine' is just another name for the 'Quantum Slipstream Drive'. The threshold of 'Quantum Slipstream' is called a 'Slipspace Rupture', another HALO term. It must be said that the principles of 'Quantum Slipstream' and 'Slipstream Space', the latter usually known by the portmanteau 'Slipspace', are completely different in application. The Quantum Slipstream is an artificially generated subspace vortex, where as Slipstream Space in HALO is another dimension of spacetime.

Taurik rushed over to Lieutenant Stevens, who was badly injured and being tended to by Ensign T'Kar. He knelt down beside the officer, placing his palm over the bloodied wound. There was a pale blue glow around the wound as Taurik did his best to stabilize the lieutenant.

"He will make it back to the Rivendell at least," he said. Taurik then removed his commbadge and placed it on the central computer core, and then tapped it. "Taurik to Cardinal Virtue," he said. "Computer, lock on to my commbadge and transport target to the cargo hold."

The computer on the Virtue processed for only a moment before the green shimmer of the alien transporters dematerialized the computer core and deposited it safely on the ship.

"Take the core back to the Rivendell," Taurik said to Lieutenant Beta. "I will meet up with Chaya Sar and Commander T'lana's team. Good luck to you."

Taurik then drew one of his khalai and ignited it, jumped up to the upper terrace, and raced out the door after the second team.

Aeryn walked down the ramp of the Harvest and gazed at the majesty of the main hangar. It wasn't the size of the fighter bay on the Imperator-class Star Destroyers, but it was definitely grand. Not to mention, the vessels stored within were absolutely beautiful, a stark contrast to the rough-and-tumble designs coming from the Incom Corporation recently, like the T-65 X-Wing and the Z-95 Headhunter.

Aeryn was always a pilot herself, and was only on the Blue Harvest because her own ship was under repair after a skirmish with several Imperial Tau-class gunboats. So to see these amazing vessels, these works of art, was breathtaking. And to add to that, she was fairly sure that these people took such ships for granted.

The confused young Jedi walked over to the only one of these people she knew, this T'lana, and sheepishly acquired her attention. "Excuse me, ma'am," she said, "but as you can imagine, I feel a little out of place here. I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do."

@"Just make sure you don't hit Taurik's ships."@ stated Chaya looking at the scanners.

Several Starfleet shuttles had already gone to warp, trouble is that warp is slow compared to the other vessels in this skirmish. So Chaya new, once the two shuttles were in trouble that was it, the Heraani would attack.

@"Fire at will Odona and Aeryn, do not hesitate to open fire, trust in the force and above all...relax!"@

Orpheus had finally gained rudimentary control of the tricorder in which he was imprisoned, and began scanning the area. Commander Freeman was unconscious, and from what the limited functions of the tricorder could ascertain, there were no other lifeforms in scanning range. Main power was down, but auxiliary generators had activated, and were providing minimal life support and computer control. The AI was fairly certain that he and Freeman were still on the bridge, and that his own pedestal was still active. Rerouting several key instructions within the basic firmware of the tricorder, he gained access to and interfaced with the pedestal and began to upload himself back into the Rivendell's neural net.

The experience was akin to stepping through a door from a dark room to a sunny vista. Although the ship was still heavily damaged, he had room to stretch his proverbial legs.

Upon interfacing with the Rivendell's main computer, the first thing he realized is that the ship was trapped in a constant barrel roll. The RCS thrusters were still marginally operational, and Orpheus managed to steady the ship. However, the thrusters were not capable of moving the ship and significant distance without possibly damaging them.

The intelligence construct manifested his hologram on the core pedestal, and turned to see Freeman slumped on the floor. "Commander?" he beckoned, hoping the human need only be waken.

"Have the Heraani reinforcements arrived?" Taurik asked without preamble.

"Yes," replied Stevens weakly.

"Then we cannot go back. With any luck, they will be able to escape detection or capture, and make it to safely. As grim as it may be, I will not risk the lives of the majority of the crew to save the minority."

Taurik stepped forward to the command altar. "Set a course for Starbase Avalon and engage slipstream drive."

T'lana nodded back to Luke and closed the access ramp of the Kelata. T'lana got up from the helm and went to the dual dedicated Transporter Pad an located Larial via the sensors, being the android to the Kelata.

Once Larial was converted from a matter-stream to her original physical construct on the Transporter Pad, T'lana walked back to the Helm and sat down.

"Welcome on board Larial, please take a seat, we could use your assistance if that is acceptable."

T'lana cloaked the Kelata, opened the Hangar Doors and piloted the Vulcan prototype surveillance/Reconnaissance Stealth Shuttle out of the Rivendell.
The Kelata's Cloaking Field Generator produced a high intensity electromagnetic field around the vessel, bending light and other forms of electromagnetic energy, such as sensors, in such a way that the vessel was rendered invisible, as most cloaking devices do.
The Treaty of Alganon does not apply to the Kelata, as it was not created by Starfleet, nor was the Stealth Shuttle used for the Federation. The Kelata was designed by T'lana and built in a private V'Shar Facility, using only Vulcan technology.

The Gravitational Engines were almost silent save for a quiet hum of power heard from inside the Stealth Shuttle only, as the Kelata slid easily through space. T'lana then brought the Kelata to an all-stop five hundred meters from the Rivendell.

=A=Kelata to Cardinal Virtue and Viper=A=

"Captain, Chaya, we are in position."

=A=Kelata Out=A=

T'lana's idea was to wait by the Rivendell until Taurik and Chaya Sar left for their part in the operation. Then bring the Kelata close to the Heraani stations Hangar Bay. It didn't really matter how close the Kelata was, the Cloaking Device was almost perfect and the Gravitational Engines were totally silent and undetectable whilst the Stealth Shuttle was cloaked. The effect had nothing to do with T'lana's designs though, she was not arrogant to think that, it was a simple matter of physics.

Chaya Sar piloted the Viper into the stations Hangar, noticing that a few Heraani were there with surprised looks on their face. Chaya fired the Viper's Turbolasers, turning their surprised looks into shock horror as they died.

Landing the Viper, Chaya deactivated the Viper's Ion Turbine Engines, but kept the Power Converter going, allowing her a quick get away if necessary.

Chaya Sar was pleased to see what else was in that Hangar and ran over to the Blue Harvest and hugged the Corellian Freighter as much as she could.

"Oh, it is good to see you again old girl."

Not expecting an answer and a tad embarrassed, she subconsciously looked around the room and straightened her robes. When she was satisfied that no one had seen her dote over a machine, the force whispered to her of a presence aboard the Freighter.

"Now for the reason I am here." Whispered Chaya to herself.

Removing her Lightsaber from it's hilt on her belt, Chaya ignited the weapon and made her way quietly up the ramp of the Blue Harvest. Aboard were two Heraani, making their way through the Harvest with their version of those Tricorders Starfleet uses. Chaya was pleased to see that the Blue Harvest was still intact and nothing had been touched.

Using a mind-trick on one of the Heraani, Chaya had successfully convinced him that there had been a noise off in the distance, allowing her time to run him through with her Lightsaber. The second one wasn't as gullible as the first and was waiting for her with his brace activated. The Heraani attempted to attack her with his brace, slashing through the air, which Chaya countered with a parry and force-push, which knocked the Heraani into the Bulkhead behind him.

"Hmm the Heraani can fly." Chaya stated as she sliced off his head.

Deactivating her Lightsaber and hilting it, she dragged the Heraani and their parts out of the Blue Harvest. She then activated the hidden switch to close the Ramp, which hissed shut on it's hydraulic arms.
Making her way to the inner corridor, beyond the Hangar she stopped, made sure no Heraani were present and took out her comlink.

@"All is clear T'lana."@

Chaya Sar pocketed her comlink and palmed her Lightsaber again, but not activating it until it was needed. She waited for T'lana and her team to arrive.

Taurik left the Kelata as soon as he was able and headed straight for the bridge. The Cardinal Virtue had already made it safely back onboard, he noticed as he passed out of the hangar.

By the time he made it to the bridge, they had already jumped away from Hera. However, it wasn't long after he arrived that the entire ship jolted.

IC:

<Main Engineering>

T'lana didn't wait for Morgan to come, one; they really needed the Jump Drive operational and two; Freeman probably had his hands full anyway.

T'lana removed the Exotic Matter Lens, which was quite hot to the touch. Calling it a lens isn't entirely accurate as it was neither a convexed or concaved piece of clear silicate. But it's operational design was similar, the Exotic Matter Lens is designed to focus and confine the Exotic Matter stream from the collector to the dynamo, which by the use of an electromagnetic field and a graviton-neutrino generator, produced the field necessary for the induction of a wormhole.

T'lana discovered Exotic Matter quite by accident when she was working on the Kelata and it's Quantum Slipstream Drive. Exotic Matter is a non-baryonic matter with a negative energy density, that repels against gravity rather than being attracted to it and exists naturally subspace.

The Quantum Slipstream Drive is the same as the Jump Drive in that they both use artificially induced wormholes for Faster-Than-Light travel. It is how they induce wormholes that are different. The Quantum Slipstream Drive manipulates spacetime at the quantum level to produce a wormhole, also known as a spacetime vortex, or subspace vortex. The Jump Drive sticks with the traditional method of wormhole induction by using exotic matter to 'fold' spacetime and further use the exotic matter to maintain the wormhole during the 'jump'. Both have their pros and cons, so it is a simple matter of choice as to which one a interstellar species would prefer to use.

The Industrial Replicator nearly lost power three times as T'lana was replicating a new Exotic Matter Lens. But as luck would have it - if a Vulcan actually believed in luck - the replication process completed and the new Exotic Matter Lens past inspection.

Replacing it back into the Jump Drive, T'lana replaced the access panel and took the lift down to the Main Engineering deck. Walking quickly to the Jump Drive control panel, T'lana took a quick look around the room to make sure all was well, satisfied, sat down and began the Jump Drive activation sequence.

Taurik had just finished mopping up two more fighters when the Cardinal Virtue shook under fire. Pressing a key on his panel, he brought up a rear-view display of a pair of interceptors firing at his aft section. Taurik slid his fingers along the LCARS throttle control, bringing the engine power to zero.

With the ship now drifting, he pulled back hard on the controls, and the Virtue flipped on it's back, allowing the captain to see the seemingly-inverted interceptors firing on him. The fact that the engines were cut allowed the ship to maintain its current heading while freeing Taurik to bring the forward-firing weapons to bear. He targeted a single quantum microtorpedo, and it slammed into the lead interceptor hard. The out-of-control ship crashed into it's wingman, just as Taurik hoped, and with no further pursuers, he righted the ship and reengaged the engines, bringing it about to face the next set of interceptors that he might come across.

Although it was Gallifreyan custom for the ranking warrior to take command of any vessel he or she is on, Taurik allowed the Thurokiir to keep his seat. The Sanctity jumped into quantum slipspace, but kept a low velocity, in order to catch up with (but not overshoot) the shuttles that had set course away from the battle.

As soon as a majority of the shuttles were in communications range, one of the Gallifreyans opened a channel. "This is Captain Taurik," the Vulcan stated. "The Heraan have been held off, but will send reinforcements soon. Make way for the Sanctity with all possible haste, and we will depart for Starbase Avalon."

"Actually Morgan, I have already designed a cloaking device, it is installed in the Kelata as you may remember. Of course the Kelata was built before I joined Starfleet, I was a member of the V'Shar at the time."

Turning back to Captain Taurik,

"Mr. Freeman does have a point Captain. A cloaking device does not have to be connected directly to the Intermix Chamber. As long as the device has enough power to produce the high energy electromagnetic field to bend light and other forms of electromagnetic energy around it. Of course we will not be able use the Nacelles to channel the EM field, we would simply calibrate the Cloaking Generator to project the EM field around the Rivendell. Larial, Mr. Freeman's android could control the Cloaking Device and be commanded to do so in secret via remote."

T'lana thought for a second...

"I do suggest that we jump the Rivendell out of Avalon Station's sensor range as soon as possible though."

@"Thank you Orpheus."@ Chaya Sar stated over a comlink channel.

Chaya Sar, new Orpheus was an Artificial Intelligence Construct, she had met it before, but that was no reason to be impolite.

Chaya Sar then put on the dedicated hands-free wireless comlink headset and pushed to Viper's throttle forward. The small but powerful space superiority starfighter shot out of the Hangar Bay and Chaya piloted the Viper Type II towards the enemy space station, arming the Turbolasers and Concussion Missiles.

Chaya Sar started an attack run, firing the Turbolasers at the Station. High Energy light-based bursts of energy, colloquially  known as bolts, mostly struck their target causing intense localized explosions.

She certainly got the attention of the Heraani as the Space Station open fired with it's Defense Grid. Full spreads of Disruptor fire and Photon Torpedoes attempted to destroy the Viper.

So far every shot the Heraani made, miss their target, but their was a couple of times they got close.
Chaya used the force to know what they were going to do next as much as she could and so far it was working. The Viper pitched, rolled, decelerated and accelerated at speeds that would make anyone suffer from vertigo. But not Chaya, she was actually enjoying herself, making constant attack runs against the Space Station mostly with the Turbolasers, but firing a concussion missile now and then.

It was the second concussion missile that brought down the Space Stations Deflector Shield, allowing her new found friends to do their respective missions.

In the meantime, a lucky shot from one of the Space Stations twenty five Disruptor Cannons struck the Viper. The Viper's Deflector Shield took most of the blast, but left carbon scoring and a small amount of damage on the dorsal Ion Turbine Engine, causing it to sputter, but not flame-out.

She then decided it might be prudent to take out the Defense Grid, which she did with the Turbolasers, knocking out the Disruptor Cannons, well most of them any way.

Captain Taurik stepped into his ready room on the Rivendell, and found a message waiting for him on his laptop console. He spun the chair around, sat down, and activated the message.

Quote
--Incoming Communiqué--

From: Fleet Admiral William Karelia, Avalon Division
To: Captain Taurik, U.S.S. Rivendell
RE: A little something for the journey...

Begin:

Captain, I realize you will be entering dangerous space, with no support to speak of. As such, with a little bit of coercion of the Romulan Tal Shiar, we've acquired a Phased Cloaking Generator for your mission. Your engineers will find it safely secured in Cargo Bay Three, section 27-Gamma. You have authorization from the Tal Shiar to install it for this mission only.

A few things to keep in mind however, Captain. The Romulans had a few terms. First and foremost, make no attempts to reverse-engineer the device. They've rigged it to explode in just such an instance, and have quadruple-redundant safeties on that system. Secondly, since this was a deal between only the Tal Shiar and Section 31, this device is still technically in violation of the Treaty of Algeron, so don't use it in any policed space, as even Starfleet vessels will consider it illegal technology. If you are caught, I can't offer any protection, so please, wait until you enter Heraani space to employ it.

Good luck, and godspeed,
-WK

Taurik closed the message, and reflected for a moment. An admiral of Starfleet Command had illegal technology covertly delivered to his very own cargo bay, and it's discovery by anyone other than the crew meant the certain arrest of himself and his entire senior staff.

"All in a day's work," he thought, a surprisingly human sentiment.

The captain tapped another button on his console, and opened a comm-line to his first officer. "Commander," he said, "could you meet me in my ready room at your soonest convenience? And bring Mr. Freeman with you."

For the longest time Morgan sat with his Jaw dropped, finally he was going to get his hands on a cloaking device, not that he could have much fun with it, but at least understand it.   He was listening to his commanding officers before he made a comment.

"Perhaps it be best if the crew things that Command T'lana and I are continuing to work on repairing the core.  We can isolate the engineering lab from the rest of the crew and install the device in the lab.  This would prevent any other officers from needing to know about the cloak."

Sitting back in his chair so he was more straight he continued "However, that being said, Ensign Beta at least will also have to know about the device unless you want T'lana and I to brilliantly devise a new stealth technology."

T'lana had sat at the main Science Station and commenced passive scans of the Hera System. Passive Scans are less efficient and take longer and are less accurate, but are less likely to be picked up than active scans are.

The Cardinal Virtue sped out of the hangar bay, barely fitting out of the space doors. So far, the cloak was holding and the ship was undetected. Taurik guided the large vessel near to the Heraani station, and targeted an annular confinement beam just inside the hull of the station. He then set the ship to auto-pilot, which was very simple as the ship was to simply hover. He walked back out of the door to the cockpit, several meters down the corridor, and into the second hatch on the right, which was the cargo bay and armory.

The captain opened the weapons locker, which had several Federation personal arms inside. He retrieved a phaser rifle for Lieutenant Beta and Ensign T'Kar, and a hand phaser for himself and Lieutenant Stevens. He also made sure both of his khalai were firmly attached to his belt. This was Taurik's first active conflict in which he carried two Gallifreyan blades, a rare practice among Sentinels.

"Is everyone prepared? Once we transport aboard, we have no way back until the mission is complete."

After receiving three affirmative nods, Taurik was satisfied. "Computer," he said, "activate transporters. Four to beam to the preprogrammed destination."

The four Starfleet officers disappeared in an alien shimmer of green light, and were quickly reconstituted onboard the station.

Taurik tapped his commbadge, which had been tuned to a very fine, mission-specific frequency. "Mission clock begins now," he said.

T'lana noticed the Jedi Knight Aeryn Kae, trying to get her attention.

"That is up to you Aeryn. You are quite welcome to stay aboard the Rivendell. You may help us if we require your particular talents, which is quite often. You can try to return to your own galaxy. Or you can do whatever you would like in this galaxy. In order to use your vessels though, you will need starmaps."

T'lana began to talk with no one in particular.

"Computer, make a connection with the Viper and Blue Harvest, their Communications is Tachyon Based. Send all Stellar Cartography data to both ships."

Computer: Acknowledged, connection established. Downloading Stellar Cartography to the Viper and Blue Harvest...Download complete.

It was then that the Rivendell was struck. By the impact dynamics and the audible searing of the hull, T'lana deduced that it was plasma based.

=A=All Bridge Officer report to the Bridge. Security, prepare for possible boarding. All hands red alert."=A=

>>>RED ALERT<<<

As the tactical alert klaxon sounded throughout the Rivendell, T'lana made her way to the bridge at a fast walk.

Behind her T'lana could see that the Hangar crew were already locking down the space door and checking to see if every vessel was magnetically birthed.

On the Bridge, T'lana could see seven Heraani Capital Ships on the main viewer. Captain Taurik was already in his command chair, as T'lana walked onto the Bridge and sat at the Science Station. The only place on a Prometheus Class ship, the Executive Officer could be anyway. T'lana didn't mind, after all she was the Chief Science Officer before her promotion and being a Vulcan, ego doesn't come into play.

Checking sensors, T'lana reported to the Captain.

"Captain, it seems the Heraani were able to triangulate our position by calculating the direction of the spacetime fold. Chaya Sar heard the evacuation call and ran to the Blue harvest's cockpit, firing up the engines. She then ran down the ramp to look for Aeryn and saving as many of the crew as she could. Finding Aeryn, Chaya Sar sheparded as Aeryn and the crew she could find onto the Blue Harvest.

Once Chaya Sar had as many people as she could find, she closed the ramp of the Blue Harvest and cycled the airlock. Making her way to the cockpit, Chaya piloted the old but powerful Corellian Freighter out of the Rivendell.

Chaya Sar use the quad turreted turbolasers of the Blue Harvest to assist Sarpedon in helping the crew escape from the Rivendell. When nothing else could be down, she piloted the freighter at 80 MGLT away from the target range of the attacking vessels. Then brought the Blue harvest to an all stop, ready to fight if need be, or help people survive.

"Perhaps. I must meditate after recent events, we will speak more in person later."

Taurik left the medical bay and went to a set of guest quarters, where he pulled out a Gallifreyan meditation mat and began his ritual. Aside from regaining one's strength and centering one's mind, this is also the method in which Gallifreyans slept, therefore, there was no bed in his quarters.

Taurik heard the medical officer's cry and dashed for the medical room. Upon arrival, he found the officer removing T'lana from her pod.

The medic looked grim. "Her higher brain functions were not fully suppressed, Master. It began to resist the effects of stasis and bring her body into animation again."

Taurik looked at the Vulcan officer, her severed arm beginning to release deep green blood once more. "Assemble the Sentinels!" he commanded sternly. "Perhaps we can stabilize her now. We must stabilize her now."

The medic rushed off to gather the most powerful telepaths onboard the Sanctity, and Taurik did his best to slow T'lana's blood pressure, pushing it as low as possible without reaching fatal levels. He also tried to touch her mind, but found her thoughts erratic, incoherent, most likely from blood loss to the brain.

T'lana nodded to Morgan and moved out of the room, but not before turning to Larial.

"Larial, please finish this work, I am quite confident that you can repair any problems we have with the power supply and the Jump Drive."

Larial: "Yes T'lana, I will not let you or father down."

With that said, Larial got straight to work as T'lana and Morgan left the Engineering Lab.

Taking the forward turbolift to the Bridge, they walked directly to the Captain's Ready Room. T'lana then pressed the door chime and awaited permission to enter.

Referring to the Cloaking Device...

"I understand that sir, I am quite well aware that you would not have requested a cloaking device and you are right, not using such a device when it is available would be quite illogical."

Taurik stepped from the command chair, and over to the tactical station, where a junior crewman was on duty. "You're dismissed, Crewman," were Taurik's only words. Since Lieutenant Beta was not on bridge duty, and he could not afford to allow junior officers access to the cloaking device, Taurik proceeded to man the tactical station himself.

After taking a moment to reacclimate himself to the Tactical layout (it had been a few years since his tenure on the Evolution), he said "Activating countermeasures," using a generic term for the cloak.

"Mr. Sarpedon," Taurik called from his station, "set a direct course for Hera and increase speed to warp factor nine-point-five."

"I'll be at my rounds.." Luke said to no one in particular as he attempted to steady himself while exiting the ship. He was never good with small crafts, even slow ones. Of course, huge starships shaking from enemies energy weapons wasn't any exception to that.

He reached out and held himself against the hull of the craft, and pushed off it. "Fans.." he mumbled as he ran out of the shuttle bay, heading towards the armory to get the burban of the weapons off him.

--Onboard the Gallifreyan cruiser Sanctity--

"Thurokiir," the sensor officer called, "we are receiving the coordinates of the human ship."

Dechtakar was anxious to enter battle with the Heraan after this long, uneventful patrol. "Change our course to match and signal a response."

The Sanctity and her sister patrol cruiser altered course in their slipstream, and the blue corridor seemed to curve ahead of them. They disengaged their slipstream drives, and the two exotic warships dropped back into real space.

"This is Thurokiir Dechtakar of the Gallifreyan battlecruiser Sanctity," he said after opening a communications channel. "We have recieved your distress call, and we stand ready to assist you."

Luke reached into his pants and pulled out his underwear with a loud grunt. His underwear was unbelieveablly huge, tieing it to his back and around his neck he opened the hatch and flew out into space.

Moving at 3000times the speed of light, Luke seeped through the hull of a small craft and landed beside the commander.

"I'll save you!" he shouted, with a strong and powerful voice.

Reaching down with both hands he grabbed the commander's hair and shouted, "BLUFF AGA POOPERS," Magically the commander suddenly regained her full strength and energy.

"On the matter of proceeding from Avalon via the jump drive, I agree. However, while the retention of information among the engineering crew is unusual, it is not necessarily a cause for panic. However, a dramatic departure from standard operations, such as a reduced bridge crew, will do very little to help the situation, considering the three of us cannot operate this ship alone. We will need our bridge crew in place, but other non-essential duty shifts may be... rescinded."

Taurik began to speak on a more personal note. "I understand your concerns, Commander. I have concerns of my own, as well. But the fact remains that our chances of success with the cloaking device are dramatically increased over our chances without. While I would have never requested such an action, or even allowed it were it my decision, we have already been given this device, and we are carrying it whether we install it or not. Not to utilize it would be foolish."

Aeryn gasped as she felt the message from Master Sar. She longed so much to respond, but despite her effort, she could not force her thoughts to leave the confines of her own skull, and was certain Master Sar would not be able to hear her.

The alien guard heard her gasp, and made his way over to her. "Quiet!" it shouted into her mind, and hit her with a plasma baton, causing Aeryn to scream in pain. She could tell that this species was telepathic, due to their lack of a oral cavity and their obvious ability to put thought right into one's mind. It seemed that they were unable to actually enter one's mind, however, as their telepathic speech seemed to affect anyone in range as opposed to being simply two-way, as evidenced by the fact that Aeryn had picked up on several telepathic conversations between guards.

She surmised that they simply broadcast their speech outward, unable to control who received it. Aeryn had, however, also heard them mention some of their superiors, and by the sounds of it, they were quite a bit more powerful than these guards. In any case, she hoped very much that none of those superiors came down here.

(OFF: Um, we're not ACTUALLY destroying the ship here. Besides, the impulse engines went down as well, a collision course wouldn't do much.)

As soon as the Cardinal Virtue and all other escape vessels were full, and the hangar was clear of crew and passengers, Taurik keyed the command to open the hangar doors. Unfortunately, all power was down, and the door would not budge. For the second time in his interesting career as captain of this ship, he charged weapons and fired at the hangar door.

The decompression caused several of the shuttlecraft to be flung wildly into space. The Virtue, Kelata, and Harvest were too large, and were only gently nudged out of the bay. To the credit of their pilots, not one vessel was damaged in the chaos.

Taurik pressed a button on his communications panel, and opened a channel to the rest of the escaping vessels. "This is Captain Taurik. All ships, set a course for the nearest Federation outpost. For those that do not already have it, I am uploading the coordinates for the Starfleet staging area Red Acropolis. It is a well-defended Federation outpost, and will be sufficient until transport is available. Do not, under any circumstances, proceed to engage hostile contacts. You are all well-trained Starfleet officers, and I am confident that we will lose no one else today." Taurik sighed, unusual for a Vulcan. "Taurik out."

The captain looked out of the viewport at his vessel. It was considered illogical to make emotional attachments to inanimate objects, but Taurik could hardly remember the last time he was logical. The Rivendell lay, beaten and defeated, and for the first time, as the remaining light on the ship flickered out, he was able to see the extent of the damage. One warp nacelle was gone, the other three were completely dark. There were countless wounds in the arrowhead-shaped saucer, most of them glowing with molten duranium. In one place, a torpedo had completely pierced the ship, and there was a hole the size of a tennis court directly through the entire saucer.

Unable to look any more, the captain, as stricken as his vessel, turned from his cockpit and went back to check on his first officer. It was the moment he turned away that the Rivendell slowly began to roll.

Taurik was running over exactly what he was going to say to his two commanders when the entry doorbell chimed.

"Enter," he called.

The two officers stepped into the office as the door slid away, and they stepped up to his desk. "You wished to see us?" the crimson-clad T'lana asked him.

"Yes. Please, have a seat," Taurik offered in preamble. He then slid forward in his chair, and spoke to the omnipresent computer.

"Computer," he beckoned, "seal the entry to this room, security authorization level ten."

"Acknowledged," came the computer's reply. "Entry to and exit from this room is restricted to Captain Taurik alone."

"Now," the captain sad, turning to his surprised colleagues, "I have specific instructions for the two of you. Mr. Freeman, in Cargo Bay Three, you will find an unauthorized device in section 27-Gamma. I want you to install this device as soon as possible, it is a Romulan cloaking device, granted to us by the Tal Shiar. Discuss the origin and purpose of the device with no one but those that are absolutely necessary. I'm hoping, with the two of you, that will be no one. If any other crew begin to ask questions and happen to stumble onto the purpose of the device, Commander T'lana will confine them to quarters immediately. It would be in everyone's best interests if the engineering crew are pressured to ask no questions."

"I understand this level of security is quite drastic, but we are carrying illegal technology, and any vessels in the area, including Starfleet ships, are still under orders to detain any starship carrying such technology. Neither Section 31, nor our... benefactor... in Starfleet Command, can provide protection for us if we are caught, and such a discovery would severely hinder peace talks between the Federation and Romulan governments, as well as end in the lengthy incarceration of most, if not all members of the senior staff."

Chaya Sar turned to face Aeryn Kae nearly losing her temper.
"Of course not Aeryn, but turbolasers are not going to do much against those capital Ships and I also have my passengers to consider. I've been watching the battle tentatively and so far they are safe, good pilots these Starfleet..."

"...Oh Frack!" stated Chaya after sensing two of the shuttles were in danger.

"Now instead of insulting my integrity *Chaya Sar stated calmly* do you think you can handle a turret? You and Odona man the main guns please."

Swiveling back in her chair to face the front, mumbling to herself. One thing she couldn't stand more than the sith, was self-righteous subordinates.

Chaya gunned the engines of the Blue Harvest, bringing the vessel into the fray, which took a mere two seconds, given that the freighter had an extremely powerful Ion Engine and that they were only One Light-Second from the battle.

@"Begin firing Odona, Aeryn."@

Until Odona and Aeryn could get to the turbolaser batteries, Chaya used the concussion missiles, which were extremely powerful, but finite. The Blue Harvest only had Twenty Five concussion missiles in it's magazine, with an addition of ten proton torpedoes and five sonic charge mines, which had a secreted dropper near the ventral turbolaser battery.

"Fleet Master," came the telepathy of one of the Heraan bridge officers, "The Starfleet vessel appears disabled. The hull integrity is such that we could launch a salvage party."

"Indeed," came the Fleet Master's response. "Send parties, tell them to go for our data module first, and retrieve theirs while we are there."

OOC: :D Haven't ya noticed? The one thing people don't call the Borg...is nice! :D :borg3:

The seven Borg Cubes had destroyed the Heraani Cruisers in a short period of time, but it was apparently long enough for the small fleet to protect lead vessel allowing it to escape.
What was left of the Heraani vessels was then tractor beamed, or transported into the Cubes for recycling and storage.

The seven Borg Cubes then opened a transwarp conduit and returned to the Unicomplex for a resupply of drones. Seven other Borg Cubes, advanced prototypes, entered Quantum Slipstream. The term prototype cubes isn't exactly an accurate statement, as there is more than one, in fact there are one thousand of these new Quantum Slipstream powered vessels. So far they have performed within expected parameters, but the transwarp hubs and vessel mounted transwarp drives have not yet become redundant.

The Borg Collective considered Quantum Slipstream to be the perfect form of faster-than-light travel. But having transwarp technology for so long, it was hard to part with a tried and true method of interstellar travel. But perfection is perfection, so here they are.

The destination of the Cubes, is spacial grid: 4152-6914-1365, the Dantor System, location of Avalon Station.

As an artificial intelligence, without a corporeal, organic body, Orpheus had never felt pain.

Until now.

The explosion damaged so many bio-neural circuits, the infrastructure on which Orpheus was supported, that his programming had no way to express it. In essense, his program had just written a pain subroutine on the fly. In many ways, as much as it hurt, the construct knew it was necessary, as he knew that any computer program, no matter how complex, could not handle an information overload of that size with no way to process or interpret it.

So this is what it was like to feel pain. He gained a slight bond with Commander T'lana just then, because, as she had just lost a limb, in a way, so did Orpheus.

It came as somewhat of a relief, if not a surprise, when the AI was forcibly removed from the Rivendell's infrastructure. That was, until he felt his new surroundings. One of the most rudimentary computer interfaces he'd ever experienced. Not to mention... Orpheus was claustrophobic.

In a loose sense, a computer program judges it's surroundings by their complexity. The bio-neural systems onboard the Rivendell were vast, spanning the entire ship, and they were fast. It was a fitting host, and Orpheus had begun to feel at home. Now, he was trapped, inside a very basic computer system, one that ran on isolinear data traces, which were not only simple but slow, by his standards. It was almost as painful as the explosion to find that the AI could not even access some of his secondary subroutines, as the latency between them was too great. And so, Orpheus was forced into one of an AI's worst nightmares.

Blind and deaf, with only his own sentience to keep him company, he waited.

The Kelata's sensors registered multiple slipspace ruptures, as several Heraani Capital Ships emerged from quantum slipstream.

All her passengers were asleep, not wanting to wake them up, Larial was ready to engage the Kelata's Slipspace Engine at a moments notice.

"Computer, have we been detected at all?"

Computer: Negative.

Larial relaxed a bit, apparently programmed with the ability to panic, as well as all other humanoid emotions.
"Computer, have the Heraani detected my father Morgan Freeman at all."

Computer: Negative, residual theta radiation is masking the Commander's biosigns.

"Maintain a lock on him at all times, please. At the first sign of being detected, beam him aboard."

Computer: Acknowledged, positive lock established, angular confinement at 32 quanta.

Two minutes later, the computer spoke again.

Computer: Attention, Heraani biometrics detected on the USS Rivendell.

"Damn them! Computer, what weapons does the Kelata have."

Computer: The Kelata is equipped with two Quantum Discharge Canons and two micro-quantum torpedo launchers.
Larial thought she new everything about the Kelata, but the little ship seemed to be full of surprises.

"What are Quantum Discharge Canons?"

Computer: Quantum Discharge Canons emit a cohesive, pulsed neutron-based quantum particle beam, at three million electron volts.

"Is there anyway to communicate with Morgan Freeman? Warn him of the Heraani boarding party."

Computer: I...The Kelata is equipped with a subspace transceiver array and a tachyon-beam transceiver system. The subspace transceiver would be detected, but due to the nature of tachyon particles, it is highly unlikely that a message would be detected. But it is also highly unlikely that Commander Freeman would realize that the tachyon particle beam contained a message. At present the Rivendell's sensors and subspace transceiver array is offline.

"Any suggestions then? Hang on, did you just say 'I'? But caught yourself?"

Computer: Affirmative, I am a Synthetic Biological Artificial Intelligence Computer with true sentience, but to facilitate human passengers I maintain the usual Starfleet computer or Artificial Intelligence personality type. I apologize for the slip up.

"No need to apologize, I am pleased to meet another sentient machine. What is Synthetic Biology though?"

Computer: Synthetic Biology is a scientific discipline incorporating biological organisms created by synthetic means. Organic lifeforms that are carbon-based, are constructed of three main components, they are: Sugar, Nitrates and Phosphates. Synthetic Biology has been used by Vulcans for two thousand years, if not more. On Earth, Synthetic Biology began in earnest in the early twenty first century and evolved to maturity in 2019, World War 3 caused most of this technology to be forgotten. Typically organic machines are called Replicants, named after a popular science fiction film of twentieth century earth, entitled Blade Runner. Synthetic Biology is the next logical step from cloning and genetic engineering, which is illegal in the Federation. Replicant technology is not.

"I never new that, oh well back to the task at hand, but if it is alright with you, I would like to continue our discussion some other time."

Computer: That would be acceptable.

"I am glad and you can drop the act you know."

Taurik kindly left Dechtakar to his command chamber, and made his way to the medical area of the ship. There, he found his first officer in a stasis pod, the Gallifreyans unable to heal her wounds sufficiently. The ancient race possessed great powers of healing, but nothing to the level of regenerating lost limbs in moments, all the time T'lana would have if removed from the stasis pod. This did not stop Taurik from communicating with her, because while her body was in suspended animation, her Vulcan mind was surely racing.

"We will be at spacedock soon," he said, placing his words directly into her mind. Taurik was fully aware that "soon" meant nothing to a mind with no external input. Time did not exist within the confines of one's own consciousness. "Your injuries are grave, but are not unrecoverable."

(OFF: Well, thanks for at least checking. My suggestion, if you don't have anything to post duty-wise, is to develop your character. After all, what fun is there in just saying "Yes sir" and carrying out orders all the time?)

Taurik fought desperately, along with the Sentinels, to restore T'lana to a manageable level of health, but her body was shutting down faster than they could regenerate it. She had lost too much blood, and her arm was too badly injured to cauterize without causing worse damage.

He could feel T'lana trying to reach out to his mind, but she was unable to convey any sort of thought, as her mind was too fogged. Her consciousness seemed to slip away, only to be replaced by a fain, distant, but constant sound. It took Taurik a moment to realize that the sound was the tone from a Starfleet medical tricorder right next to him. It signaled a complete loss of bodily function.

"Captain," came the somber voice of the Starfleet medic. "We've lost her."

Taurik left the medical bay silently, and made his way to the command chamber. "Master Taurik," came Dechtakar's reverent voice, "the Ascendence has sent word that they have secured and recovered the Rivendell, and with the help of some remaining crew, have repaired the ship enough to sustain slipstream travel under tow. They will arrive at Starbase Avalon within two hours from now. We, however, are closing in on the station as we speak."

"Very well," he said. "Get within transporter range of the station, and the base will begin to transport my people from this ship. I will be taking the Cardinal Virtue back myself."

Post by: Givrillian Sarpedon on January 10, 2008, 07:17:53 PM
Sarpedon sat at the Helm on the Bridge of the Rivendell - or more accurately the main bridge, and ran a few diagnostics on the systems. There hadn't been much to do at the helm during shoreleave, and so he had spent most of his time checking up on the shuttle pilots down below. A few of them were a bit cocky, but everyone needs to be cocky at some point in their life. Especially if they're a pilot.

Now he ran a low-level diagnostic on the propulsion systems. He hadn't heard anything official, but he was hoping that they'd be getting under way on another mission. Though he did still need to get used to being called 'Chief' now, rather than 'Petty Officer'.

While Chaya Sar was not needed she decided to check up on her Padawan and see if she could also find the Jedi Knight Aeryn Kae.

Closing her eyes, she contacted the force and used it to find her fellow Jedi. At first it appeared as a blue swirl with whitish tendrils of energy coursing through it. Then the vision shifted to a tunnel, going through space at a tremendous velocity until the tunnel passed through the walls of a space station, down several decks and into a dungeon like chamber.

The vision cleared so that her disembodied mind could see everything that was in the cell. Her Padawan was asleep thankfully, but stirring awake and to the other side of the chamber was Aeryn Kae who was finally conscious.

Chaya Sar gathered that the Heraani had either just found her, or moved Aeryn in with Odona for some reason.

~"Aeryn Kae, it is Chaya Sar, I am glad to see that you are alright. I am coming as soon as I can to rescue you and Odona, but this galaxy does not use Hyperdrive technology Most use Warp Drives, so it is going to take some time."~

Taurik locked his console and stood, pointing to T'lana, Freeman, and Chaya Sar, montioning toward the conference room.

Once all four of them had entered, Taurik began. "We need a strategy before we begin, as well as a starting point. We have two primary objectives here, one, to steal a Heraani datacore, and two, to rescue Chaya Sar's companions. These are in two completely separate areas, and will be impossible to deal with at once."

"We have two ways we can proceed," he continued. "We can either retrieve the datacore first, which will be considerably easier before we've alerted the Heraan. Or, we can rescue Chaya's companions, who will be of great help during the rest of the mission, but will also alert the Heraan by the time we make it to the command complex for the datacore."

"As you wish Commander, I am here to serve."

T'lana went to the station dedicated to the Jump Drive.

"You are relieved," T'lana stated to the two crew members already at the station.
Keeping the Jump Drive spooled was a little more complicated than T'lana first expected.

Apparently the Jump Drive came out of free-spin after the last jump, it remained spinning but the dynamo had regained friction.

T'Kar, not being able to go to the academy, tried to learn more about his expertise. He was not very educated on the transporter device, he was reading a PADD on them. "A standard transporter contains ten main components: the chamber, console, controller, energizing coils, phase transition coils, molecular imaging scanners, pattern buffer, biofilter, emmitter pad array, and targeting scanners." he mumbled.

It was a bad habit, he knew, but he couldn't get over it. When he learned enough to become a transporter expert he decided to train his body too. He started practicing the ancient kingon art of Mok'bara when he was a child, and did it religiously like any Klingon.
After that, he very quietly practiced singing Klingon opera. And right in the middle of a crescendo he felt a shudder. It was too big to be ignored, but he couldn't figure out why. It ended bothering him until he figured it out.

Despite being an old freighter, the Blue Harvest handled like a Starfighter. Chaya handled the pitch, yaw and elevation controls like a profession, which she indeed was, piloting vessels ever since she was ten.

The Inertial Dampers protected the crew from the G-Forces, but only 80% when doing maneuvers of such magnitude. the Inertial Dampers were mainly for the jump in-to and out-of Hyperspace.
Chaya piloted the Blue Harvest in and around the attacking craft and the craft they were protecting. This snaking, barrel rolling maneuver prevented any attacking vessels from locking on to their prey and the vessel doing the protecting. The Blue Harvest's Repulsorlift system - room temperature superconductor coils that manipulate magnetic fields - although replaced many times were still quite capable of handling the G-Forces exerted on the freighter.

Taurik nodded at the image of the Gallifreyan on his communications panel. "Very well, Thurokiir. However, I would like to begin repairs on my vessel."

Dechtakar looked grim. "Master, the Heraan will surely send reinforcements. There is no time. Your vessel fought well, but it is not worth the lives of your crew."

Taurik could only look with silent and unfortunate agreement. "We will be aboard shortly, Thurokiir. I will secure the datacore."

(OFF: Haha, that's harsh. You'd think that telekinesis would qualify a race for assimilation... but I won't complain.)

The Heraan were deep in battle with the Borg, when all of a sudden, every invading drone simultaneously dematerialized. Before they could celebrate their victory in chasing off the Borg, the ship rocked heavily, coming under fire from the Borg cubes.

The Heraan, despite their ruthless campaign against the galaxy, were not without valiancy. The two escort frigates readily maneuvered to absorb the weapons fire, allowing the damaged but operable Adjudicator to escape into a slipstream.

The smell of sweat and blood was unmistakeable in the cramped chamber in which Aeryn awoke. The alien guard on the far end of the room had not yet noticed her awakening, and she was not about to provoke him. She tried to move, but found that her arms and legs were bound to the interrogation slab. Instinctually, she tried to reach out with the Force and remove her bindings, but she could not.

For that matter, Aeryn realized, she could not feel the Force at all. It was there, but it was as if it were behind a large door, just out of reach. The cumbersome collar attached to her neck, she assumed, was the cause of this, as it emitted a faint blue glow, denoting that it was a device of some sort.

Across the room, on an identical slab, lay the young Padawan, Odona Covell. He appeared to still be unconscious, and wore the same Force-dampening collar that Aeryn did.

Knowing that there was nothing, for the time being, that she could do, Aeryn decided to survey her surroundings while she had the chance.

T'lana considered the puzzle, her Vulcan mind searching using logic to achieve both goals with minimal to no loss of life.

The primary goal is the datacore, why they are really out here breaking Federation law to begin with.

The secondary goal is Chaya Sar's fellow Jedi, who when free would be able to assist any, for them to then go after the datacore. But as Taurik had said, to do so would alert every Heraani warrior in the Hera System.

"Firstly Captain, I suggest that we spin up the Jump Drive and keep it spun up. Even with the twenty percent loss of power, the Cloaking Field Generator will still function. A ten light year jump should be sufficient. In any engagement against a superior foe, whether it be due to more advanced technology, or simply superior in numbers. The logical thing to do, would be to cause a distraction."

Seeing T'lana burst into the room almost made Morgan smile, she had come to help keep the Rivendell from destroying herself "Yes you can help the dynamic duo over there by the jump drive controls by re leaving them of that station.  I don't care where you have to steal power from, keep the drive online.  I will take care of shields and whatever weapons we have left."

Aeryn bolted out of the cockpit, through the bent walkway into the main chamber, and jumped onto the gunnery ladder. She clambered up the ladder and flew into the seat, throwing a few switches to arm the quads.

Aeryn had only manned Corellian-style turbolaser batteries once before, so it took her a moment to re-acclimate to the idea of a flight yoke that controlled the attitude of the guns. After a moment to hone in on one of the Heraani fighters that were threatening the Starfleet shuttlecraft, she let fly a barrage of tibanna-fueled hell that stripped the shields from the fighter almost instantly.

Taurik sat at the controls of the Cardinal Virtue, concentrating partially on the task of running through the ship's preflight checklist, and also dwelling on the loss of his new first officer. The last time he'd lost someone like this, he was an Ensign, back on the U.S.S. Enterprise. One of his close friends, Ensign Sito Jaxa, was lost during a clandestine operation in Cardassian space, and it had taken him a long time to get over it, despite his emotional conditioning.

And now, the woman who had served as his science officer for almost his entire tenure on the Rivendell had lost her life as well. What was worse, Taurik mused, was that it was while under his command. If there was any part of the Kohlinar that was most difficult for Taurik, it was learning to detach oneself from those that are lost.

Finally, the preflight routine was finished, and Taurik fired up the thorium engines. The ship lifted from the deck of the Sanctity, and left the enveloping hangar, destined for Avalon Station, only a few dozen kilometers away..

--A few hours later--

Taurik motioned for the lieutenant at Science to take the bridge, and the captain stepped into the turbolift. He silently pressed the number "13" into the keypad, and the turbolift shot toward Deck Thirteen, the miniature inertial dampeners keeping him in place. Within moments, the lift arrived at the correct deck, and the captain silently departed.

Something about the sterility of a starship corridor left him a little uneasy. The unnatural lighting, the fine-cut artificial carpet, the cold metal handrails and bulkheads, it all made him long for Vulcan again. The aptly named Vulcan homeworld was never cold, never unnatural. The unique architecture of the civilization there, unchanged for millenia, blended well with the planet's natural decor, which consisted of red dirt and sand. While it seemed bleak to an outsider, Taurik considered it one of the most beautiful planets in the Federation. It was always warm, uncomfortably warm to a human, due to the planet's proximity to the Vulcan star.

Eventually, Taurik found his way to the hangar bay, his destination. The large bulkhead door unsealed and opened, and Taurik stared in at the rows of Type 9 and 11 shuttlecraft, the two Pelican dropships, and the Viper along the right wall. He stepped over to the small fighter, and saw Chaya Sar resting inside.

He projected a simple message into her mind, to rouse her from her slumber. No words, just a feeling, to inform her that her presence was requested.

Chaya Sar, continued with her carnage, mostly in defense as the Heraani usually attacked first. Except for the ones aboard her pride and joy, the Blue Harvest, but then that was for safety reasons.

T'lana did a wonderful job lending a hand where she could, when Chaya was up against too many odds.
Chaya finally got to the Detention Block, killing two of the guards at the door, that were trying to surprise her.
Chaya Sar then moved on the elite that was left, a rather strong Heraani who had obviously been in a lot of battles and had the scars to prove it.
Chaya used force-push and force-pull as well as the Lightsaber, but the Heraani elite was obviously an expert in swordsmanship with his two energy braces.

The style of swordsmanship was different to all the other Heraani, elite or otherwise, that Chaya Sar had come up against.
Whether it was because Chaya was exhausted, or because this one was more experienced than the rest she didn't know, probably both, because her muscles were aching so much.
The only moved she could think of right now, being so tired was something she hoped she would never have to use, but after at least two hundred and fifty Heraani elites and grunts, give or take, she had no choice. This Heraani, probably the commander, was even blocking the pulses of particle beams from T'lana's Compression Rifle.

Chaya Sar deactivated her Lightsaber and hilted it, the Heraani commander lunged as Chaya summoned the last of her strength and force-lightning.

Powerful bolts of force energy arced from her raised hand, passing through and surrounding the Heraani commander. Nothing was safe in the direction of the uncontrollable bolts of destructive energy, whether it be electronic systems, controls, force fields and the Heraani who thought he was about to win and probably was if it wasn't for this last desperate measure.
Chaya Sar finally ceased the force-lightning as the Heraani lay smoldering and scorched on the floor. He was not the only thing smoldering, scorched and melted, everything in the path of the force-lightning bolts was just that.

Chaya Sar looked to T'lana, feeling a little sheepish and then walked over to the controls for the brig holding her fellow Jedi. Strangely enough, these controls were one of the few that were actually still intact, but not for long as Chaya pulled out her Lightsaber, activated it and sliced through the controls. The force field deactivated and Chaya did the same to the Lightsaber, hilting it for hopefully the last time on this mission.
Chaya composed herself and walked into the cell smiling softly to her Apprentice Odona Covell and the Jedi Knight Aeryn Kae. Both were looking up at her with the collars and cuffs still in place.

Chaya Sar thought to herself *figures* as she took the Lightsaber off it's hilt and activated it again, slicing off her fellow Jedi's restraints. Chaya then deactivated the Lightsaber and hilted it again. She then gave her apprentice a helping hand up and then Aeryn Kae.

"Fancy meeting you two here, welcome to the Milkyway Galaxy. This is T'lana, a friend, one of many."

"Captain, if you do not need me here, I shall go down to Engineering to assist the chief."

Not really waiting for an answer, the casualty reports, spoke for themselves, T'lana took the turbolift to the engineering deck.

Once on the Main Engineering Deck, T'lana walked out of the turbolift, walking quickly and helping crew members on the way.
T'lana burst into engineering, which looked more like a nightmare, than the Main Engineering room of a Prometheus Class Starship.

"Anything I can do to assist Commander freeman?"

Odona ran from the cockpit down the hall and towards the ladder, letting Aeryn Kae go first he climbed down the ladder and sat in the gunnery chair, placing the comm unit around his head, Chaya I am on comms.

He focused his attention on the area of the ship he could protect.  Sensing before seeing he took aim at the first Heraani fighter that came into his sphere, squeezing the trigger he unleashed the energy from the Harvest's weapons resulting in a massive fireball where the Heraani fighter used to be "1 down 1 million to go." he said into the comm.

<Stealth-Reconnaissance vessel Kelata>

Even though Larial heard Captain Taurik's message, he was not her Captain and seeing as her creator was still on the Rivendell, that is exactly where she kept the Kelata.

By now Larial new everything about the Kelata thanks mostly to it's extensive user manual into it's operation, necessary for a prototype.

"Computer, if we towed the Rivendell, could we go to Quantum Slipstream?"

Computer: Acknowledged, as long domain five slipstream velocity is maintained.

Larial was fascinated by the Kelata, it was a highly advanced vessel, that seemed too advanced even for Vulcans.
But that was for another time, when Larial's creator wasn't in danger, but what to do?

Until she was told otherwise, Larial decided the best course of action would be to cloak the Kelata and wait for further instructions, which is exactly what she did.

---===Important Message from Expansion Fleet Administration===---

We are beginning the final mission of the current Expansion Fleet story arc, and this mission will conclude the events that have been building for the past few years, some of which began at the launch of Expansion Fleet. This mission will yield an end to the Heraan War, and will be concluding the events of the entire game.

This gives us a unique opportunity, one that we've not explored before, nor have most of the Star Trek RPG's out there. We are going to be starting a new "series" of sorts, in much the same way a new Star Trek series precedes the last. This will give everyone the opportunity to start fresh, with all new characters, new backstories, and new sub-plots. We will even be introducing a new region of space, a new Starfleet space station, and an entirely new fleet.

For the duration of the final mission, due to the extremely cooperative nature of such a finale, we will be combining the posts of all four ships, as well as those of the Starbase Avalon personnel, into a single forum, to alleviate the need to read several forums at once. This mission is to be contained in it's own forum, located at the top of the list of Expansion Fleet vessels we are all familiar with. The new forum will move no one from their previous situations, but will direct them toward the goings-on of this finale. I will be posting a list of guidelines necessary in such a forum, please read those first before posting.

The new forum for the finale is located here: http://www.expansionfleet.com/cgi-bin....F;f=308

Thanks,
EF Admins

T'lana was dismayed and utterly disappointed in the events that just transpired on Rivendell. But having thought that, it was her duty to carry out her Captain's wishes, but not before making a formal protest.

"I must admit captain, I find this illegal action to be questionable at best. Having said that, I will carryout your orders, but I wish it to be noted that I do so under duress and against my better judgment."

T'lana sat back in the chair, crossed her legs and continued.

"I suggest using the Jump Drive to take us to a secure location first. This will insure privacy and make it difficult for sensors to trace our location. Apart from myself, Mr. Freeman and yourself, there should be no bridge crew during the initial jump. We can not hide the fact from the crew that we are jumping, given the inevitable effect Wormhole Induction Propulsion has on the ship, but it should minimize the questions the crew might have. If any questions asked, we can simply say that we are testing the Jump Drive because of the new core and the loss of power experienced. This is not a lie, Larial is currently working on this problem."

Chaya Sar had been working on her Viper for the good part of two hours now and had overhauled the electromagnetic turbines, several power couplings, had cleaned out the exhaust and had repaired the polarity controller for the repulsorlift - powerful room temperature superconductor coils that manipulate magnetic fields for vertical take off and landing.

Finally feeling better about herself, Chaya packed up her tools and closed the propulsion system's access panels. Placing the tool box back into it's holder behind the seat in the Viper's cockpit, she cleaned her hands with Bacta-Wash and hopped into the cockpit.

Placing her key into the ignition system, Chaya fired up the power converter and started Ion Engines in reduced power mode, specifically used for engine start-up tests. With a slight sputter expected when the exhaust is cleaned the Ion Engines fired up as they should. The three Ion Turbine Engines kicked the Viper forward slightly even with the repulsorlift adjusted to counter any forward movement. Satisfied Chaya shut down the engines, took out the key and placed it back into one of her robes hidden pockets.

Even though it is called a key, that really isn't an accurate description. Yes it allows you to start the engines, but it is mainly part of the security system, DNA encoded to the user.
Chaya Sar suddenly realized she was quite tired, due mostly to the fact that she hadn't slept in 48 standard hours. Closing the powered cockpit canopy for some portion of privacy and quiet, Chaya made herself comfortable and fell asleep.

Chaya could never sleep properly though, the force would never allow her the comfort of oblivion in sleep. No, the force showed her things, visions of events that are yet to come. It was the yet to come that gave Chaya nightmares; for a darkness is coming. She had some comfort though, because her training specifically states that the future is always changing. Events that occur in precognitive visions are mere possible outcomes and even her own experience has shown that that is quite true, that didn't make the visions any less frightening though, because they could just as easily come to pass. With any possibility, other possibilities are also true.

Chaya Sar didn't speak the whole time Taurik and herself walked to the turbolift, that took them to the bridge. On the bridge Chaya stood between the Science Station and the Command Chair, where she stayed as Taurik approached the Command chair. It was only then that Chaya decided to speak.

"I must admit, this bridge is designed for comfort. Most of the bridges on starships in my galaxy are designed for practicality. Apart from very expensive luxury models of course, I prefer it this way I think." She told the Captain.

Chaya Sar left the Conference Room after everyone else did and took the next turbolift car that had arrived once Morgan and T'lana had left.

"Um...computer, where is the Hangar Bay where my Viper is?"

Computer: The Main Hangar Bay is on Deck 13, section D, aft.

"Then take me there please."

Once the turbolift car arrived where it said her Viper was, Chaya Sar exited and made her way to the Hangar Bay's double bulkhead door.

In the Hangar Bay, Chaya Sar made her way to the space-doors control and activated it, making sure that the electromagnetic force field was in place first.
Making her way to her Viper, Chaya activated the Canopy and climbed in, closing the canopy behind her.
Chaya fired up the Power Converter, then the Ion Turbine Engines and the Repulsorlift. The Hangar Bay was filled with an audible noise akin to a jet engine, building to a crescendo.
The Viper lifted off the tarmac as the Ion Turbine Engines ignited, with blue-white flames ejecting out of the three thruster pods exhausts. In truth they weren't flames, they were actually highly agitated ionized hydrogen particles being electromagnetically accelerated out of the engines' exhausts.

Post by: Givrillian Sarpedon on January 20, 2008, 10:34:47 AM
As soon as the three smaller vessels were out of the hangar bay, Sarpedon plotted the course of ten lightyears that T'lana had ordered. He was amazed at how the Rivendell had gone undetected by the Heraan. Normally, a Federation starship the size of the Prometheus class would be like a giant zit to them, a glowing beacon for attack, but the vessel had been left completely alone.

~Perhaps the Heraan are just getting stupid~ he thought to himself jokingly.

Main engineering had quickly turned into a mess quickly after the enemy warships had opened fire.  consoles became smoking ruins and over half his engineering staff had been hauled away to sickbay.  Morgan himself looked about as bad as the room itself, his uniform was covered by who knows what as he and the remaining staff struggled to keep the Rivendell from blowing itself apart.  "Listen to me, don't worry about the life support systems right now, it won't do us any good if the ship blows up.  Focus on the drive system, we need to keep the jump drive online as long as possible."

The ship shook violently again and after a moment reviewing the latest damage report he made a choice that would either save or destroy the Rivendell, "Jones, Macarthy, Willaims lets shunt power from the warp drive system into the shield grid.  Its gonna fry the hell out of the grid eventually but if we survive, I will take it."

=A= Engineering to bridge =A=
I've taken the warp drive system offline and shunted the power into the shield grid, you should have almost 100% shields again.  We still have the jump drive available but I can't say how long it will stay that way.

Post by: Taurik on January 30, 2008, 06:19:33 AM
An ensign from Stellar Cartography came and interrupted Taurik, who was in the midst of treating Commander T'lana's wound. "Sir," he said, "there's enemy fighters, trying to pick off the shuttles!"

Taurik called for a medic, and was relieved of his medical duties temporarily whilst he manned the helm. The captain slid into the forward seat in the cockpit, and the helm controls lit up. Considering that the Cardinal Virtue was once a smuggler's vessel, one of the previous owners had installed a set of flight sticks to augment the helm agility. Taurik grasped those joysticks now, as he needed perfect agility to combat starfighters.

The Virtue handled expertly, and Taurik found it no difficult feat to line up behind one of the Heraani fighters, and squeezing the trigger, fire the tetryon disruptors. The green bolts of energy struck the fighter, overloaded it's shields, and boiled the hull away almost effortlessly.

"Aye Captain. Shall we Commander?" T'lana asked, before heading towards the door that Captain Taurik ordered to release the L10 lock.

T'lana and Morgan headed for the turbolift and made their way to the Engineering Lab, where Larial was not. Confused T'lana tapped her combadge.

=A="Larial, how go the repairs?"=A=

=A=Larial: "I have repaired the Warp Core and installed father's switching mechanism. I ran several tests, it works perfectly."=A=

=A="Thank you Larial, now come back to the Engineering Lab."=A=

Just as T'lana had finished talking, Larial walked through the door, proving that all T'lana really had to do was wait five minutes.

Once Larial was in the Lab and the Pneumatic Doors had closed T'lana went to a console and accessed the Transporter System, beaming the Cloaking Device to the Lab. T'lana made sure to cover her tracks, so much so that as far as the computer was concerned, the Transporter Grid was never used.

"Let's get to work chief." Ordered T'lana.

"Captain, repairs are complete, you may jump when ready."

Tigerlead looks at the holographic projection and smiles. "It's nice to meet you sir, i will report to the bridge imediately"
Then smiles towards his security mate and salutes both and exists the Security Office and walks eagerly to the turbolift. He enters the turbolift and reajusts his uniform and insignia then says "Main Bridge" and the turbolift plunged upwards towards the desired deck. The doors opened and Tigerlead saw himself for the first time on the Rivendell's bridge... it was amazing... quicky dispatching  his feelings he turned to the tactical station and said "Ensign Tigerlead reporting for tactical duty as ordered"

"Aye Captain" said Tigerlead stepping away from the tactical console and moving towards the turbolift, he couldn't avoid the feeling that something was "wrong" ~Either this Captain likes to do everything himself or doesn't trust his own crew even if i am new here or... i was not supposed to see something~ thought the young ensign to himself, he was in the turbolift when the commander's ship wide alert sounded. "Halt turbolift" he said to the computer then continued "Main armory". He exited the turbolift and went to the armory to pick up a Type III Phaser Rifle, with the rifle in hands he started making deck by deck sweeps. :D

He strapped himself in and glanced calmly at Tigerlead.

"I must say, you definitely have a rapport with these aliens, Master Sar."

Aeryn stepped off of the slanted interrogation slab and extended her feelings outward to her surroundings, finally able to feel the Force again. Unfortunately, she was revolted by what she felt. Many people had died in this chamber, and she was glad not to become the latest addition to that list.

The young Jedi walked over to a storage compartment on the far wall, and pulled the small, locked door off of it's hinge with a light Force pull. Inside were two long, cylindrical objects, the lightsabers taken from Covell and herself.

She retrieved her own, and tossed Odona's to him. Aeryn took a moment to ignite the lightsaber, inspecting the brilliant green blade, before returning it to her belt.

"I am ready to proceed, Master."

"Patience my apprentice," Chaya said calmly, "If they need our help, I have no doubt they will ask. At present we have no knowledge of these beings, nor their technological strength. Come."

Chaya Sar gestured to the Blue Harvest and made her way up the boarding ramp, turned right into the main corridor, past the Cockpit access door and into the main Hold. There she went straight to the Autochef and ordered two Jawa Juices. Bringing both cups back to the acceleration couch and placing the cups onto the inactive Dejarik Table.

"Please, sit. Let's talk, Odona, not as Master and Apprentice, but as friends. Let's forget about the universe for a while. Our new found friends know where to find us if we are needed," Stated Chaya with a slight smile.

Dejarik is a popular chess-like game from the Jedi's home galaxy. The interactive holographic game, had artificial intelligence and was first invented by the Jedi, but soon became very popular amongst most sentients. There was even a yearly tournament, the main one being the Galactic Core Interzonals.

Just as the Heraan entered weapons range, the plasma turrets that littered their outer hulls began to glow a menacing cyan. Dozens of plasma bolts began to scream from their formations and struck the Rivendell's shields, causing them to retort with their own subtle blue sheen.

"Captain, the Gallifreyans are twenty-five seconds out. The Heraan just entered weapons range, and have begun firing."

OOC: Sorry, the particular place I downloaded it from,, does not provide these downloads anymore and was the only place it was available. It's the best Warp Calculator I have found too, providing an HTML Star Map, for inputting more coordinates.
But having said that, you are still in luck, I still have the zip-file, which you can have a copy of. I use Windows Live! Instant Messenger and have made my email account visible.
The only problem, I have with the Quantum Slipstream Drive is using the main deflector dish to create the quantum field, this is not what the Main Deflector Dish is designed to do. The Warp Nacelles are quite capable of performing this function, seeing as that's what they are for. The Quantum Slipstream Drive is exactly the same as the Hyperdrive from Star Wars.

It is also impossible for you to have fixed the Rivendell's Warp Drive due to the fact that the main core and the two secondary cores were ejected because of a core breach. "I just thought I would outline our general duty rotations. Obviously, we cannot all be at the tactical console at the same time, and so I'll be trying to make sure that we are each rotated when possible. As such, when not manning the console, we have various areas of the ship which are of high importance, and should be included in your patrol rounds. They are Engineering - in all three sections of the vessel - Sickbay, the armoury, the computer core, and the shuttlebay. There are of course other locations throughout the ship that should be included in rounds, but these are the main ones." Beta said, as he looked up at the two Ensigns smiling.

"Ensign Voison, I beleive you also have secondary duties that you'll need to perform, so until the Captain calls for me, I would like Ensign Tigerlead to take the Tactical console on the bridge. Ensign Voison; you may choose between your other duties or beginning your rounds."

The Jedi Master, who was standing the whole time they began talking, mainly because she didn't know where would be appropriate to sit, but also because she wanted to rescue her fellow Jedi as soon as possible.

"My Viper's fuel tank is half full, which should be enough to complete this mission."

OOC: Instead of the complicated fuel components we had come up with, which is illogical at best. I though TRITIUM would be the best. For those who don't know, Tritium is a radioactive form of hydrogen with the code T or 3H, used in Fusion Reactors and Neutron Generators. Seeing as SW use primarily Fusion Reactors for power, it is logical to assume Tritium is the fuel source. ST uses Deuterium which has the code 2H.

Luke nodded and only when the commander left did he notice the decapitated head of a an Heraani lying a few feet away. It was quite impressive seeming she is only one person, compared to himself he could only take on roughly two of these pests at once-though there was also the fact that he knows nothing about this woman, what training she possesses.

Only after a few minutes did he managed to tear his eyes from the head, it wasn't that much of a pretty face anyways.

The ensign, feeling that it wouldn't be very smart standing in the middle staring at a head, jogged over to the rather foreign looking Heraani ship and took a defensive position.

"Sir, we are in weapons range!" the helmsman called out. Dechtakar, now standing, glared at the holographic viewer.

"Fire all lines!"

The heated lines that ran along the graceful edges of the Sanctity finally released their torrential power, as a lace of tetryon and psionic energies came forth, producing a brilliant, pure-white beam. This beam struck the forward Heraani cruiser, and began to rapidly overwhelm it's shields and boil away it's hull.

As both the Sanctity and her sister fired on the lead vessel, it finally cracked like a nutshell and a blazing fireball erupted, spewing the crew and atmosphere out. This got the Heraan's attention, as the remaining six destroyers turned their attention from their prey to their predators.

(OFF: It was just the character's opinion. Gallifreyans can be kind of arrogant. But regardless, if 80 MGLT is 32 km/s, that's about 0.1% of lightspeed. The maximum output of a Starfleet impulse engine is at least that. Emergency impulse speed gets a ship up to around 5% of lightspeed, but any higher and you begin to feel the effects of Newtonian time dialation. In my experience SW ships are faster in FTL, but ST ships have the advantage at sublight.)

There were two gaurds and one elite. Mr.Beta killed the gaurds with ease but the elite drew his energy brace in a defensive stance. Post by: Chaya Sar on January 31, 2008, 03:02:27 AM
Chaya Sar was tired of playing with the fighters and decided it was time to use the seismic charges the Blue Harvest used as a secret weapon. She had gotten the idea to use a hidden seismic charge launcher from her father and mother, who in turn got the idea from Slave I, a vessel owned and operated by first; Jango Fett and then by his clone 'son' Boba Fett. seismic charges were originally designed to destroy large asteroids and planetoids that are a constant problem to navigation. Used as a weapon against starships was found to be equally devastating.

@"Taurik, I am going to use the Blue Harvest's seismic charge launcher."@

@"Odona, Aeryn, give the main batteries a rest before they over heat. Let's show these Heraani what this vessel can do."@

Seismic charges have a blast radius of 50,000 meters, so Chaya had to calculate the distance between the Starfleet vessels and where she was going to deploy the seismic charges. Once Chaya Sar had finished calculating the distance using the Blue Harvest's navcomp, she changed the Harvest's Pitch and yaw to match that of the slew of Heraan Fighters heading for the Starfleet vessel. Lucky for her they were stupid enough to be in a tight wedge formation.

Chaya Sar activated the hidden launcher at the meridian point of the on coming vessels, the seismic charge dropped nearly on top of them. As soon as the Blue Harvest was clear of the blast radius the seismic charge detonated automatically, a flash of light could be seen that resolved into a radial shockwave of blue colored energy.

The seismic charge did it's job all too effectively, each fighter was treated like parts of a large asteroid as they simply broke up in smaller more manageable pieces.

Chaya was pleased that her new found friends were safe for now, but was not pleased that she had to kill so many of these sentient beings since coming to the Milkyway Galaxy.

Trying desperately to swallow the lump in her throat, Chaya set course for the Heraani Capital Ships, determined to use the rest of the seismic charges.
By the time the Blue Harvest had reached the closest Capital Ship they had already launched another wave of fighters.

@"Odona, you and Aeryn see if you can take out those fighters, I'm going to deploy another seismic charge."@

Chaya altered the elevation of the modified Corellian Stock Light Freighter, passed over the first Capital Ship and deployed another seismic charge, throttling up to escape the blast radius.

The seismic charge detonated as Chaya crossed her fingers, hoping this worked. They were designed to break up asteroids with a lot more mass and density than starships possessed and sure enough, the gravito-magnetic energy of the seismic charge reduced the Heraani Capital Ship to smaller components.

Chaya was pleased and sad at the same time, as she did the same thing to the rest of the Capital Ships until there were no seismic charges left, from a magazine of five.

Chaya Sar set course back for the Starfleet vessels and gave her Jedi companions in the turbolaser batteries a field of fire.

Orpheus took control of the aft phaser banks, and began to fire controlled bursts at as many plasma bolts as he could, destabilizing their cohesion and dispersing them. Unfortunately, as much as he pushed them, the phaser arrays could not charge and discharge quick enough to stop every shot, and while it bought them precious time, the Rivendell was still falling under fire.

Dechtakar watched as the second Gallifreyan vessel was beaten by several salvoes of torpedoes and plasma fire. The ship stood up to enough fire to destroy a small moon, but eventually succumbed.

The Sanctity carried on, however, and was beginning to turn the tide, with the help of the foolish captain of the small freighter that seemed intent on fighting these heavy destroyers. The Gallifreyan weapons, which several Starfleet engineers had dubbed "tetrionic beams" (a portmanteau of tetryon and psionic), were doing a masterful job at carving away layer after layer of heavy battle plate from the Heraani destroyers, and their numbers had been whittled to three, with one of the ships heavily crippled.

"Deploy the Sentinels," was the Thurokiir's only order.

"Yes, Thurokiir." The Sanctity, like any Gallifreyan cruiser, carried a contingent of Templars for hand-to-hand combat, and several highly-trained Sentinels to combat the Na'jigat. But with the advent of the Heraan, it was discovered that the Sentinels also had a knack for giving the weapons systems a considerable boost through psionic channeling. Several Sentinels made their way to the meditation chamber, the central point of all attacks against nearby Na'jigat clusters, and began to channel their power though the ships. Suddenly, the lines along the ship began to glow as brilliant a white as their beams, and dozens, if not hundreds, of tetrionic pulses began spewing forth, wreaking havok on the Heraani ships.

It took very little time for the destroyers to become overwhelmed, and although the Heraan never retreat, they knew they would not survive. As the last of the ships entered it's final death throes, the lines on the Gallifreyan cruiser cooled.

"Master Taurik," came Dechtakar's hail, "the threat is neutralized, for now. There is no doubt the beasts will send more ships after us. I will harbor your crew aboard the Sanctity, and deliver you home without delay."

Chaya Sar had just finished minor repairs on the Blue Harvest when Captain Taurik landed the Cardinal Virtue onto the alien battlecruiser. Chaya restarted the engines and after getting permission to dock, landed the Blue Harvest into the Hangar with Taurik's ship.

Shutting down the engines, she left the cockpit, rounded the corridor and activated the airlock cycle which opened the inner door and lowered the ramp.
Chaya then went to the Main Loading bay, where her passengers were.

"You can all get off now, we have docked. Captain Taurik is already here, where ever here is."

Chaya Sar then sat on the couch as her passengers filed out of the vessel to meet up with the rest of their crew. Chaya sighed and after a few minutes, fell asleep on the acceleration couch instead of going to her quarters.
