Title: Mission 12: "When It Rains..."
Post by: Morgan Freeman on October 09, 2007, 03:12:28 PM
"I have the drive ready for a small intra system test which at the very least will scare the crap out of anything that might be monitoring us or the station.  Plus, we may be able to detect the cloaked vessels if we jump in such a small area."  Morgan said checking the status of the new drive system.  He would not want to blow everyone up after just returning to his ship.

Turning to Larial, "Hello dear girl, how are you doing?"

T'lana walked over to Taurik watching Chaya Sar follow Commander Freeman, fascinated by the young woman from another galaxy.

"Our guest certainly is a fascinating being, isn't she? Tell me Captain, have you sensed some form of energy emanating from her?"

"I apologize, Miss Sar, for failing to introduce myself."

Orpheus's image appeared on a small holo-pedestal next to the lab terminal. "I am Orpheus, Federation intelligence construct for the starship Rivendell."

<Borg Sphere>

The Borg Defensive/Offensive Drones, began attacking the vessels that were firing on them. The Sphere used both it's Disruptor Banks and it's cutting laser, while monitoring the USS Rivendell.

<Royal Transport - Borg Queen - Delta Quadrant>

The Holographic Viewer in the Central Plexus aboard the Queen's Personal Transport, now detached from the Unicomplex, was constantly monitoring the situation with the Rivendell and Battle Group Thirteen via the Borg Sphere's visual sensors.

The Borg Queen walked up to Taurik while watching the display. She didn't really need to of course, the Borg Queen was constantly being up dated by the Hive Mind, the display was more for Taurik.

"Well I am going to the bridge, if you need me."

T'lana walked out of Engineering and headed for the turbolift.

On the bridge, T'lana went to the Science Station to catch up on some reports and to analyze the sensor data from the last mission.

T'lana had the strangest feeling she was being watched. A feeling might be the wrong word for a Vulcan, but it was the closest explanation that T'lana could come up with. The air around her seemed cold, as though there was a definite shift in the natural electromagnetic field.

T'lana shrugged it off as one of those illogical feelings that humans revel in so much and went back to work. Unfortunately, ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away and the basic instinct of a once predatory species, just wouldn't abate.

"Computer, is there any anomalous sensor readings from, inside the ship?"

Computer: Negative, no anomalous readings detected. Please be more specific.

"Is there any variance in the natural electromagnetic field anywhere on the bridge?"

Computer: Negative, sensors do not detect any variation in the electromagnetic field, either natural, or induced.

"Run a level one diagnostic of the internal sensors."

Computer: Acknowledged, specified diagnostic will take 3 minutes 22 seconds.

<SHUTTLE BAY ONE>

"What are we to do now Captain?" T'lana asked, remembering that they were on a mission to find evidence of the Heraani's allies.

"Perhaps Miss Sar would be willing to assist us in this quest?"

Post by: Holographic Officer Beta on November 13, 2007, 08:50:26 PM
As Beta materialised on the Borg Sphere, he made sure to not make any sudden movements. He was in one of the areas of the sphere where the Borg's recharging alcoves were - quite a number of them empty - and the Borg around him were paying him no attention.

Holding his rifle pointing towards the ground, but still ready to bring to a firing position at the slightest moment, he made sure that the Borg drones surrounding him wouldn't consider him a threat. It wouldn't do to draw too much attention to himself.

He located and accessed one of the control panels nearby, attempting to locate one of the Transwarp Nodes on the Sphere. Once doing so, he began to head along the route he had picked out.

Walking onto the bridge Morgan was all smiles as he heard Mr. Sarpedon's report.  Turning to the officer Morgan said "Don't worry about that Mr. Sarpedon, I am well aware of the changes to the warp drive."
He walked over to the engineering station directly behind the captain and logged into his terminal.  "Captain, we are standing by at your command."

Chaya Sar, still caustious, deactivated her Lightsaber and place it back into it's hilt.
The Force seemed strange here, she thought she had heard a telepathic communication, but it didn't make any sense.

"Then I am pleased to meet you Taurik and the rest of you of course. As I said before, my name is Chaya Sar, have you informed the Jedi Council of my situation?"

"Indeed, but I was referring to the electrostatic charge the atmosphere in the Shuttle Bay seemed to exhibit when Chaya first awoke. I am not one given to feelings, naturally, but I have no doubt Chaya Sar could have decimated the entire crew with ease. So I am pleased she is not that way inclined. Chaya could be a valuable ally."

T'lana gestured to the Blue Harvest.

"Chaya's Viper, did she call it? Is just as interesting, it seems primitive and yet is beyond Federation technology. Which seems to indicate function, rather than aesthetics."

Chaya Sar walked back into the room and deactivated her Lightsaber, placing it back onto it's belt clip.

It was strange, but Chaya got the distinct impression that the Heraani as she now knew the being to be called, was not afraid of Taurik but something or someone else.

Just then the station shook, as though something powerful had just grabbed it.

OOC:  I miss all the fun.   However I am getting better now so life is GOOD.

IC:  Engineering was once again a mess for Morgan to clean up.  The damage caused by the Borg had been repaired and the makeshift transwarp drive had burned out and been removed from the Rivendell's systems.  There was still conduit damage and all sorts of other damage that would keep his crews busy for the next several weeks.   When it came to space dock time it was always the engineers that stayed on the ship to make sure it was ready to go out again when the captain ordered it.

Having completed his scans it was now time for Morgan to inform the captain of the damage.
=A= Freeman to Taurik =A=
Captain, the Transwarp drive system has burned out and has been removed.  We have already repaired most of the damage from the Borg but it will take us about 4 days to fix the rest of the damage to the Rivendell.  Good news however, it seems the Jump drive system was undamaged by the Borg attack and is still fully operational.  Also, the engineering crew was able to fight off the borg with only 1 casualty.

T'lana walked onto the Bridge after Morgan to hear what he said to Givrilian and Captain Taurik, with Larial right behind her.

"Mr. freeman has a point Captain, if we test the Jumpdrive and there are cloaked vessels around the station. It is logical to assume they will attempt to investigate one way or another."

"In order to get their attention, we should attempt an intra-system Jump away from the Station and back. Their sensors will register the Rivendell folding spacetime, bare in mind it takes one minute to spin-up the Jumpdrive, one minute cool down after each Jump and one minute to spin-down. The maximum distance we can Jump is twenty light years."

As soon as Chaya drew her lightsaber, Taurik instinctively drew his own khala. The Vulcan master tried to project the peaceful intent of himself and his crew, but due to the alien's telepathic nature, he was unsure if she understood.

Once Taurik noticed that Mr. Freeman had recalibrated the universal translator, he knew he could communicate properly. He sheathed his khala.

"We did not respond because we could not understand. Our universal translator is now programmed to your language, however. My name is Taurik, I am the captain of this vessel, the U.S.S. Rivendell."

Morgan walked with Miss Sar to the engineering lab.  He was very careful in how he walked in order to prevent the fuel in the container from being released.
Once in the lab he sat the container on the table and opened it.  Taking out a small sample of the solution he placed it on the scanner.  The computer began studying the chemical telling Morgan it would be a few minutes before it would be complete.

"So, my name is Morgan" he said trying to make conversation.

Chaya Sar watched the blonde girl come into the room, she called Morgan father, yet there was something strange about her.

"You have a beautiful daughter Mr. Freeman." Chaya said, still trying to make up for her apparent offense. Here just one day and already she had offended two people, well one, the other one was disembodied apparently.

"Strange, she has no reflection in the force, which can only mean one thing, she is not biological. I thought you said you don't have Droids?"

Chaya Sar went over to the force reflection-less person and introduced herself.

"Hello I am Chaya Sar." Chaya bowed slightly as she made her introductions.

Morgan sat at the master station in engineering.  The repairs where complete and he was just running some tests on the Jump drive.  He was fascinated by the drive and how it could be integrated into the Rivendell's drive systems so easy.
The terminal in front of him beeped telling him the latest simulation was completed with the results waiting for him.  After reviewing his latest test, which was a power surge though the drive system during its operation, the computer reported from what it could tell that there was a 22 percent chance that the drive could cause a longer jump on the same course.

T'lana had finished scanning the Jump Drive and moved back down to the primary engineering console, where she discovered that her Jump Drive was being tested by someone else as well...Morgan.
"I apologize Mr. Freeman, I did not know that you were running tests on the Jump Drive as well. I have just finished physically inspecting the components, they are functioning within normal parameters and show no signs of wear."

T'lana looked at the results of the test Morgan had performed, with interest.

"Fascinating." T'lana stated stoically. "It seems once the electromagnetic actuator is in free spin, it does not matter even if a potentially damaging surge of energy travels into the Jump Drive, it will still use that energy."
Title: Mission 12: "When It Rains..."
Post by: T'lana on October 09, 2007, 05:44:41 AM
T'lana and Morgan got to work on the Jumpdrive. First came programming the Industrial Replicator with the knowledge of how to build the separate parts. These included a Vacuum Energy Field Manipulator, Negative Energy Projector, Particle Accelerator, Free-Spin Dynamo, Vacuum Energy Collector/Converter, Hyperspace Motivator, EPS Adapters, Gravity Wave Inducer and several Flux Capacitors etc.

The whole unit once put together by Morgan Freeman, T'lana and two other privileged engineers; weighed 365 kg and had the dimensions of 2m x 1m x 1m. Someone might say after seeing the unit that it was too small to fold spacetime, but that was the point of the Jumpdrive, to be unobtrusive and connects to an existing Warp Core.

As the Nacelles generate a Warp Field, or Negative Energy Bubble, so to can they be used to fold spacetime for Wormhole Induction Propulsion.

Star Fleet scientists have been searching for decades a way to induce traversable wormholes, because in the grand scheme of things, Warp Drive is too slow.

T'lana's Jumpdrive allows both to be used with little alteration, the Jumpdrive's dedicated Quantum Nanotech Computer, which was the final piece to be added to the Jumpdrive, allows for accurate spin of the dynamo and monitors the influx of Negative Energy and Vacuum Field Energy to make sure spacetime folds as it should.

The one thing about wormholes, or Hyperdimensional Corridors through Spacetime, is that they can literally go anywhere and anytime in the multiverse. For time travel, you must accelerate the wormhole to the speed of light, either clockwise or counterclockwise for traveling forward or backwards respectively.

Multiversal travel occurs when the Jumpdrive's Computer alters the quantum frequency of the induced traversable wormhole.
There are fail-safes built into the Jumpdrive to prevent Time Travel or Multiversal Travel to occur, but there is always the danger of a misjump, but then nothing in life is 100%.

Once complete and attached to the Warp Core, the Jumpdrive was an impressive sight. T'lana was proud of her accomplishment and why not, of course she would never admit to it.

T'lana went to the main engineering console and transfered the Operating System for the Jumpdrive from her PADD to the Rivendell's Main Computer Core.

Once complete Morgan Replicated 4 flutes of Champaign for them to celebrate.

The whole event took but 2 hours to complete and when they had finished celebrating, T'lana decided it was time to inform the Captain.

"Captain, the task is complete and can be tested at anytime."

IC:

All four of the Away Team was beamed aboard the USS Rivendell, which was no mean feat through a Tractor Beam, but if anyone could do it it was this vessels crew.

Once on board, all four rushed to the Bridge, where a Borg Cube and Borg Sphere displayed on the main viewer.

T'lana went to the Science Station, but there was no real reason to do so. This didn't stop T'lana scanning the Borg Vessels and finding the reason why two Heraani in the Red Acropolis were afraid.

"Captain, it seems that the two Heraani we encountered were the survivors of assimilation."

"Indeed. If a power surge occurred with the Warp Core, a breach would occur, but the Jump Drive has no such limitations, interesting."

When T'lana designed the Jump Drive, the eventuality of a power surge causing the Jump Drive to go beyond the red-line of 20 light years, simply didn't factor into her equations, it wasn't exactly the logical thing to do.

Wormhole physics was one of T'lana's many scientific interests, but convincing the scientific communities throughout the Federation that traversable wormholes for Faster-Than-Light Propulsion would succeed if they simply used the vessel itself as the event horizon, was almost impossible. Yet here, the Jump Drive is, attached to the Warp Core of the USS Rivendell and it works.

As Chaya came too, she noticed she was no longer in the Blue Harvest, a quick glance around the chamber told her it was some form of Docking Bay, but whether on a ship or space station she couldn't tell.

All Chaya Sar knew at present, is that she was surrounded by people and some were pointing some form of weaponry at her.
Thinking quickly, Chaya grabbed her favored weapon and with no apparent use of muscles was instantly up on her feet with a meter long energy blade now being emitted from the silver, ornately designed cylinder, that she and others like her, called a Lightsaber.

Chaya Sar stood her ground against the strange, unknown people surrounding her and stated.

As the ship came to a stop, the docking clamps gripped the ship in an iron fist, and the ship was, in relation to the station, absolutely still. Sarpedon made sure all the drives were shut down, and altered the ship's condition status. The various indicators throughout the ship changed colour, and displayed "Condition Blue" - the ship was now in stand-by mode.

"Please call me Chaya. Where would I find Admiral Karelia then Taurik?" Chaya Sar asked more calmly now.

Having so many positive reflections in the force on and around the station was quite refreshing and gave Chaya Sar a sense of well being that she had not felt in a long time.

"Thank you Mr. Freeman."

T'lana used her Tricorder to scan for the Canopy release control, to her embarrassment, she was sitting on it.

Hoping no one noticed, T'lana moved down the nose a bit and lifted a small hatch about 5cm by 3cm. Lifting it up she found the hatch release control and activated it.

A sound like air escaping could be heard, as the ship brought the pilot out of suspended animation. A few moments later a hissing sound occurred, as two small hydraulic arms lifted the Canopy.
T'lana moved closer to the open cockpit and reached in lifting the helmet from the pilot's head, placing it on the nose of the ship.

T'lana knelt down into the cockpit and using her high-gravity muscles, lifted the young woman from the flight chair.
Cradling her in her arms, T'lana jumped down from the ship and laid the still unconscious girl onto the deck of the Shuttle Bay.

"She appears to have a concussion , Doctor please assist."

Beta's form shimmered back onto the bridge, after he had finished posting a security detail around the shuttlebay where the alien's craft was being kept, and issuing them their orders.

Without a word he logged onto the security console, he raised shields, and began charging weapons, knowing from the records that this system was likely to be dangerous.

Since the ship was staying put for now, Sarpedon logged onto the Tactical console, raising shields to full and firing a few phasers at the Borg, while preparing to lower them for transport. When he saw a slight break in the Borg's attacks on the Rivendell, he lowered them. "Shields lowered!" He shouted, watching as the notification came up on-screen informing him of Beta's departure. "Beta is away! Raising shields!"

Before he managed to do so, however one of the borg's attacks hit home on the Port-Bow section of the saucer section of the ship, and all aboard felt the impact, as they were thrown to the ground. Sarpedon's hands found their way to the controls again, and shields were back up.

"Shields are back up." he said, as he climbed back to his feet. "Hull breaches on Decks 3, 4 and 5. Emergency force-fields are engaged."

Taurik was surprised when Chaya suddenly hugged him, a form of affection common among more emotionally volatile species. Not wishing to offend her, he carefully returned the hug.

He listened as T'lana told her a little about Avalon. "I can imagine Fleet Admiral Karelia would be interested in meeting you, Miss Sar," Taurik chimed in afterwards.

"To know that, you will need a little bit of explanation."

Taurik linked his mind to Chaya's, a form of communication that they both knew well and could utilize much more efficiently. Within moments, he exposed her to everything that had happened with the Na'jigat and the Heraan so far, from the Na'jigat's first encounter with Starfleet over the planet of Sordinan, to the attack on Avalon, all the way to their current objective.

Taurik spoke through their telepathic link. "I hope you now understand the gravity of our situation," he projected to her.

Chaya Sar uncomfortably sat in the Executive Officer's Chair, as indicated by T'lana and thought for a second to answer T'lana's question.

"I don't know all of the science behind it, but to become space pilot we are taught the basics."

Chaya Sar continued, "As you probably know, all matter and energy in the universe vibrates at different quantum frequencies. The Hyperdrive takes advantage of this, by generating an electromagnetic field around the craft and phase-shifting spacetime within that field to a higher frequency modulation. The vessel and spacetime within that EM field transitions to a Higher Dimension above spacetime due to the higher-frequency shift. Secondly the hyperdrive produces gravimetric waves in parallel to the sublight engines, for travel through hyperspace - The higher-dimensional realm."

T'lana showed Chaya on the terminal where to go to get to the Admiral's Office and then how to get to the Celtic Corner.

"It is logical to assume that if she were able to return to her own galaxy, she would have mentioned it. It is also logical to assume that if her Starfighter's Navigation Computer was able to lock onto another galaxy, that they would have explored our galaxy as well. I do have an idea of how to get Chaya back to her own galaxy, but it is not without risk and it would require large amounts of energy. More energy than is commonly available with the technology of the known species of this galaxy. It seems that despite Chaya's galaxy's higher technological advancements in the field of propulsion, Hyperspace travel does seem to have some draw backs."

Chaya Sar's head was spinning at the efficiency and speed T'lana had shown her how to operate the sonic shower and the computer terminal.
Chaya decided to browse through the clothes files first and then take a sonic shower, sitting at the terminal for an hour trying to decide what to where.
Of course the choices were quite extensive, the problem was, Chaya had been wearing traditional Jedi Robes for so long that choosing anything else was nearly impossible. Making a selection that would go with her utility belt, even more so.

Chaya decided to place her original clothes into the replicator to be scanned and duplicated, taking the new Jedi outfit with her into the en suite.
After having a shower, she did her hair, put on make up and then put on her new clothes. Chaya then put her Holocom into the hidden pocket and put on her utility belt, that held her Blaster Pistol, tradition Comlink and Lightsaber.

Coming out of the en suite, Chaya walked up to T'lana.

"Thank you for the use of your shower and that T'lana. I thought about changing into civilian clothes, but this is all I really know now." Chaya stated, gesturing to the newly replicated, but same designed clothes she was wearing.

"Um is there anywhere I can have something to eat around here."

T'lana finished writing her report and gave it to Captain Taurik.

Heading for the turbolift she stated to Chaya, "Come with me."

Both T'lana and Chaya Sar, headed for T'lana's quarters, to freshen up and change their clothes.
T'lana went into the sonic shower first and changed into a new uniform, lastly putting on her make up and doing her hair.

When T'lana had finished, she took Chaya to her terminal and show her, some of the finest civilian clothes for females that the Rivendell had on file, showing Chaya how to use the terminal and how to make a selection.

T'lana then took Chaya Sar to the sonic shower and showed her what to do, before leaving Chaya to her own devices. Going to the replicator, she ordered a bowl of Plomeek Broth and a glass of water and sat down to eat. T'lana had thought of ordering Chaya something, but had no idea what to order. What does an extra-galactic alien find appetizing anyway?

"I would appreciate that, thank you."

Chaya Sar walked out onto the bridge with Taurik and looked out of the Main Viewer.

Chaya was tired, still feeling the after effects of stasis, but was not willing to take a seat. Chaya took out a Bacta Injector from her robe pocket and injected herself with it. Feeling the effects almost immediately of the cellular regenerative compound, she placed the injector back into her pocket and went to the back of the bridge; sitting down onto the carpeted deck.

Chaya Sar closed her eyes and began to meditate. Images of the force appearing as blue energy with an infinite number of chords, flowed through her minds eye.

As she shifted her perspective in relationship to the universe, a dark mass was visible where the quantum gravitational chords did not go. Looking into that mass and into that darkness, Chaya could sense life at least partial life anyway. She couldn't look at the darkness anymore, so she shifted her perspective again towards the center of this galaxy. This region teamed with life, not biological, but energy. Malevolent and hungry, this energy tried to reach out to her, which made Chaya recoil in her mind and immediately snap out of the meditation.

Chaya couldn't help but be frightened. Never before in all her short life but extensive training, had she ever felt beings such as this. One sentence kept playing over and over in her mind: "We are the Na'Jigat, all shall be consumed..."

Note: Anything with a tilde [~] is a telepathic communication, in this case a direct comm between T'lana and Taurik which given the nature of telepathy can only be picked up so-to-speak by the target. So eaves dropping is impossible regardless of ability and I expect other players to respect that, thank you.

NOTE 2: The SR-1 NORMANDY is a proposal of mine to HC and has the Jumpdrive, the employment of this vessel depends on the amount of users to this site and whether such a vessel would be used by those players.

But I do personally believe that having a Jumpdrive attached to the conventional Warp Drive, would allow for greater story ideas, given the nature of wormholes. Quantum Physics and String Theory, as well as M-Theory allows for Warp and the Hyperspace form of travel. So I see know reason why we cannot use these in STAR TREK, if it is good for Theoretical Physicists, then it is good for us common folk, remember that STAR TREK is built upon real science, well what Gene roddenberry did anyway.

Title: Mission 12: "When It Rains..."
Post by: T'lana on December 08, 2007, 02:30:21 PM
For two days T'lana was working on a Quantum Slipstream Drive for the USS Rivendell. The Wormhole Induction Propulsion (WHIP), colloquially known as the Jump Drive, is definitely a useful tool. For if the vessel was in danger, the Jump Drive could be spun up and one minute later could jump out of danger. But with only a twenty light year range, the Jump Drive is not a viable  form of transwarp.

That is where the Quantum Slipstream Drive comes in. Any attempt by Starfleet to create a Transwarp Drive, to go beyond the Warp 10 barrier has met with disaster. Which as T'lana has read about the USS Excelsior, was actually the result of sabotage on behalf of a one Commander Montgomery Scott and not because the Transwarp Drive was a failure, in yet it the project was scrapped.

But, given the telemetry T'lana took of the Transwarp Drive anyway during the rescue of Captain Taurik, T'lana could see two possible flaws with any attempt to recreate a Transwarp Drive. One; the torsion stress put on a vessel's hull at transwarp velocities is accumulative and is beyond the operational capacity of most Starfleet vessels. Two; the environmental impact of spacetime caused by a vessel traveling beyond the Warp 10 limit, is quite considerable.

But as any good physicist knows, particles are but waves of energy and as such quantum level of spacetime is more malleable, than manipulating spacetime as a whole.

The best analogy of this is: Warp and transwarp can be likened to an ocean going vessel traveling across the surface, in essence, it surfs across the waves. Where as; Quantum Slipstream, is like a submarine, traveling below the surface of the water. In this respect, if there was a race between a ship and a submarine, the submarine would win, because it doesn't have the waves to contend with.

That is why, T'lana chose to have the engineers build a Quantum Slipstream Drive she researched and improved upon when designing the prototype surveillance/reconnaissance vessel, the Kelata. This was thanks to a timely visit from a Gallifreyan, that made the Kelata possible. The name was taken from a phrase the Gallifreyan, also gave her to use in the future - which she did to rescue Taurik - "Kelata Mana Darsha Kree".

The Quantum Slipstream Drive wasn't the problem, it was current Starfleet and Vulcan technology that was the problem.

The Kelata uses Organic Technology in it's Computer Core, which is necessary for the occasional nanosecond adjustments in the quantum field required when at slipstream velocities.

In order to travel in slipstream, the power requirements are more than a Antimatter/Matter Reactor can produce. The only power generation capable of giving a Quantum Slipstream Drive the energy it needs, is either a Quantum Singularity Core, or a Quantum Induction core, the former being a miniature blackhole and the latter works by creating a vacuum in the reactor and extracting the Zero-Point Energy and converting the energy into electricity.

These are two things the USS Rivendell is not equipped with and that is T'lana's dilemma.

For in order for a Quantum Slipstream Drive to function at 100% efficiency, the USS Rivendell would need a Biomechanical Computer and either a Quantum Singularity Core or Quantum Induction Core.

Of course T'lana could give the Starfleet Engineers the designs for these, but when it comes to new technology that hasn't been around for five years, Starfleet Command and personnel, are wary.

T'lana put down her PADD and tapped her communicator.

Captain Taurik stepped onto the bridge of the Rivendell for the first time in three weeks. He had taken some time to dedicate solely to training with Master Techerakh, vastly expanding his knowledge of the Templar arts.

The ship seemed so small to him now. Taurik knew it was simply idle thought, something he should avoid, but he couldn't help but feel that the entire quadrant was simply at his fingertips.

Shaking the idea aside for now, he sat down in the lone command chair on the upper tier of the well-lit bridge. Pressing a button on the small command panel, he sent a message to his senior officers to report in.

T'lana received a Security Level 9 subspace message from Star Fleet Special Operations, marked "At your discretion".

T'lana placed in her old V'Shar Security Code to open the subspace communique, which would automatically delete any trace of it's appearance once closed, it read:

===Security Level 9 Communique===

To: Lieutenant Commander T'lana (Formerly V'Shar SpecOps)
From: Admiral Natasha Delacroix UFP SF Spec-Ops.

=Hello T'lana, just letting you know that the SR-1 project has been a complete success.

Thank you for your scientific input old friend, because without it this project would not have come into fruition.

The new Stealth Reconnaissance Prototype Vessel - SR-1 NORMANDY - Is complete and we are currently in negotiations with Expansion Fleet's High Command, to employ the vessel at the HC's discretion.

Because you designed the Jumpdrive, we are nullifying our previous contract with you and allowing you to employ your Wormhole Induction Propulsion generator at you discretion.

The employment of the SR-1 NORMANDY at Expansion Fleet is of course dependent on crew, so it maybe sometime to come yet.
The Na'Jigat are a real threat and the WHIP Jumpdrive you have designed may be a life saver.

Unfortunately my devision of Spec-Ops does not exist officially, so I cannot command your Captain to utilize the Jumpdrive, but given it's modular design can be installed on existing Warp Cores, but you already know this, silly me.

Anyway just letting you know, show this message to your Captain if you wish, remember that the poltergeist bot, will delete all trace of this message once closed.
Be well my friend.

Regards
Admiral Natasha Delacroix, Spec-Ops, Star Fleet Command.

===END MESSAGE===

T'lana sent the message to Captain Taurik's personal Terminal, awaiting a reply.

~~T'lana to Taurik~~

~"It would be a logical thing to do Captain, the Jumpdrive has a range of 20 light years and is completely modular.
It is similar in design, but not in power, to the Vortex Drive on Gallifreyan vessels.
It works by generating a Hyperdimensional Tunnel through the spacetime continuum, by manipulating gravity to fold spacetime. Another name for such a device, is a Hyperdrive.
Travel time is constant no matter the distance and almost instantaneous, at 3.26 seconds per jump. The modular design allows the Jumpdrive to be installed en route."~

Chaya Sar smiled and walked over to her Viper, inspecting it for any damage.

"I should see if the Blue Harvest still works. I would like to stay Captain, if that is alright with you and your crew. But like all vessels, the Blue Harvest needs fuel, tell me what do your vessels use for fuel?"

In the seconds that past, the Borg Cube had fully regenerated and it's transphasic shields had adapted.

The Borg Cube paused for a moment, as the abilities Taurik displayed and his weapon, the Borg had seen before. The cubes Vinculum had relayed back to the Central Plexus of Unimatrix 01 in the Delta Quandrant, this new finding as it happened.

The Borg Queen, in her Interface Alcove, watched the events as they unfolded. She then directed the Cube to learn more, before assimilation.

Back with the Borg Cube, Sphere and the USS Rivendell, the Borg Cube fired multiple Disruptor burst. The first volley hit the Warp Nacelles, the second took out the engines.

Captain Taurik was then transported to the Borg Cube and placed in a Psionic Dampening Field, a trick they assimilated just recently...very recently as a Heraani Drone walked by Taurik on his way to regenerate.

"BORG DESIGNATION THREE OF TWELVE, SPECIES 3259. YOU WERE ASSIMILATED BY THE COLLECTIVE AT SPATIAL GRID: 5572 BY 2397 BY 1126. THE WEAPON YOU CARRY IS OF SPECIES 0002. EXPLAIN. YOU WILL COMPLY."

While Taurik was on the Borg Cube for interrogation, 20 Borg Drones were beamed over to the Rivendell to begin assimilating the crew. Once completed, the USS Rivendell would then be reduced to it's constituent atoms and placed in the Cube's matter storage buffer.

Peters stepped aboard the Rivendell after being assigned there following completion of his Academy course.

*10 minutes later*

Peters found his quarters and stepped inside to see a rather large room from what he was used to from the academy with all the usual 'features'. He dropped his bag and had a look around, he was actually quite impressed with the view that he had looking out over the area as ships came and went. He thought he might as well go and report in so all he had to do now was find her.

"Computer, locate Lieutenant Commander T'lana," he said, this was 1 of the first thing's he had checked when he was assigned to the Rivendell.

"Lieutenant Command T'lana is in Engineering," the reply was ice cold like all Computer Voices.

He dropped his bag in the middle of the floor, straightened his uniform and left for engineering.

*5 minutes later*

Peters finally stepped into engineering after getting lost a couple of times and headed towards a Commander. He saluted.

"Sir, i'm looking for Lieutenant Commander T'lana. Could you tell me where she is please?" he asked.

With his proximity to the central Borg unicomplex, Taurik found it increasingly difficult to shut out the billion-strong voice of the Collective.

"I hope you realize," Taurik said, "that by keeping me hostage, you've attracted not only the attention of Starfleet, but that of the Gallifreyan Order as well. You must be optimistic to believe that your plan will succeed."

OOC: Yes, that is pretty close. In actual fact there is not much difference between Warp Drive - Compressing/expanding spacetime - and Wormhole Induction Propulsion - folding spacetime. Spacetime is curved and easy to manipulate, so when considering this and how Warp Drive and Jump Drive actually work, the Jump Drive is the next step up from the Warp Drive.

A Warp Drive creates a bubble of negative energy where the vessel is at rest. The bubble of negative energy causes spacetime around the vessel to "bend" - or warp - the compressed spacetime causes the ship to move (surf) through space at Faster Than Light speed. Spacetime expands behind the vessel as the influence of negative energy is no longer in effect.

The Jump Drive works in a similar fashion, but instead of generating a bubble of negative energy, you are directing a concentrated "beam" in front of the vessel to "fold" spacetime. Instead of compressing spacetime for propulsion you are actually folding spacetime bringing the destination to the ship.
In actual fact my Jump Drive is the real science version of the Coaxial Warp Drive seen in the Voyager episode Vis-A-Vis. The Coaxial Warp Drive, literally means two Warp Fields in Parallel to each other. The act of folding spacetime is what creates a wormhole.
This is what happens in STAR WARS and the retconned BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (retcon = Retroactive Continuity, the act of remaking a show in varying degrees, either partially or fully).

Taurik took a few moments to go over the data on the PADD. "I see," he said. "Although the choice is ultimately up to you, it appears the chances of a return jump are quite slim. T'lana was about to set up level 10 security fields in every section of every deck, but knew it was useless. The Borg always showed an unerring ability to walk through, beam through, or fire weapons through; any shield or field set up to try and block them.

So T'lana decided to try another approach. Chaya Sar was obviously a powerful being and at the moment was their best defense against the Borg.

T'lana walked up to Chaya. "To answer your question, these beings are the Borg, a collective of various assimilated species connected to a Hive Mind. They think as one, act as one and will forcibly assimilate any being not apart of the collective. The Borg are Cybernetic-Organic beings with highly advanced Type III technology and will not stop until they achieve their version of perfection."

T'lana continued...

"You are our best hope for survival, will you help us? Do not let them touch you though, because they use nanobots injected via multi-phased tubules for the first stage of assimilation."

Morgan sat at the master engineering station awaiting the arrival of the operations officer and reviewing the latest batch of diagnostic tests from the new systems.  The Rivendell's trimode warp core had ended up being replaced on orders of Starfleet engineering, which put his repair schedule off about one day.  The engineering crew had done a remarkable job at actually getting the new core installed with Morgan taking his usual position at the bottom of the core chamber.  It was a tradition of his to get acquainted with a new core by attaching all the leads himself, which should have been the job of an ensign but he insisted of doing it.

The new core had a few problems with it that seriously bothered Morgan.  The thing that bothered him the most was the fact that in all of the his diagnostics there was a 8.5% drop in power output from the core at the moment the drive system was engaged.   He was engaged in trying to figure out when when he barely noticed the arrival of the XO in the room.  Seeing her he motioned for her to come over to the master terminal where he could show her the test results.  It was always good to have a vulcan's perspective on matters even when they had no sense of humor.

OOC: And your problem is? I can't believe I have to explain this, but the TARDIS was the name of a Gallifreyan vessel, nothing more, nothing less.

As for a Jedi, it is a big universe. What you think Expansion Fleet is Star Trek Canon, funny I didn't see Expansion Fleet mentioned in any of the series. There also happens to be Lightsaber(Khala) wielding Gallifreyans, they are not in Star Trek Canon either.

There are also Droids, Loxians, Heraani and various other characters that are not in Star Trek canon.

STAR WARS is set in another Galaxy, in this case and is also a proposed location of the Galaxy far far away, as ANDROMEDA.

Gene Roddenberry once said, "Science Fiction is only fiction, until it becomes fact."

STAR TREK exists not to show how wonderful humans can be, or to have space battles with humanoid beings, or Beings of Light. It exists to show that the Vulcan IDIC is absolutely correct.

IDIC stands for: Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations.

There is an old saying: "Anything is Possible." I suggest you remember that, above all else.

T'lana handed Beta the beacon that she had previously replicated and continued...

"The fleet will disable or at least distract the Borg Sphere, beam in and beam out as expediently as possible. Avoid any unnecessary contact with the drones. Distortions from the Sphere's Gravimetric Engines will prevent beaming in directly, so I am sending you to this location."

T'lana handed him the PADD, which contained the location and beaming coordinates for the Transporter Chief.

"More posturing Three of Twelve?" The Borg Queen asked angrily.

The Borg Queen directed her transport and 50 Borg Cubes to go to Transwarp.

"NAVIGATION, SPACIAL GRID 0285 BY 9947 by 1441. ENGAGING TRANSWARP DRIVES."

Both the Borg Queen's Royal Transport and 50 Borg Cubes engaged their Transwarp Drives for the rim of the Milkyway Galaxy in the Gamma Quadrant.

Two hours later, the Borg vessels emerged from Transwarp. On the screen of the Central Plexus, a decimated star system could be seen, with only a few chunks of eviscerated rock floating around clouds of dust particles, orbiting a compressed ball of Uranium-258, that used to be the system's star.

The Borg Queen released Taurik from the security field, allowing him to get up from the Assimilation Table.

"Come here." Ordered the Borg Queen to come standing where she was in front of the Holographic Display. "This is the result of the Na'Jigat, the entire sector is the same. A Borg Cube witnessed the destruction from a distance." The Borg Queen showed the visual telemetry from the cube that was monitoring the system prior to assimilation, but holding off due to the arrival of the Na'Jigat.

The Holographic Screen show space with the system in the distance. A blue swirling mass of energy suddenly appeared and began to envelope the system. All transmissions from the system ceased. The monitor switched back to real time.

"Three more systems making up the sector, were similarly decimated." The Borg Queen continued, "Where were your precious order? We were on our way to offer the population of these planets perfection and immortality. Unfortunately we were too late." Stated the Borg Queen, sounding like she actually cared.

T'lana got up from the Science Station and left the bridge, taking the turbolift to the deck her quarters were on.

Once in her quarters, T'lana took a sonic shower and a change of uniform. After doing her hair and make-up, T'lana walked to the replicator and ordered Plomeek Broth, followed by a Caesar salad and an iced Vulcan Spice Tea.

Finishing her meal an hour later, T'lana meditated, making sure she lit her favorite candle scented with frangipani.
Vulcans never used perfume, or deodorant, having no sweat glands there was no need. T'lana was the only Vulcan she new of who used certain scents to accentuate her personage. Perhaps being around humans for so long had corrupted her, or maybe she just really liked the smell of frangipani.
Frangipani is a desert flower, mainly found in the northern areas of Australia where T'lana spent several years in the consulate of New Maryborough, Victoria. During which time T'lana traveled around Australia, taking in the diverse wildlife and the still untouched areas of the desert. That was where she came across the frangipani flower and the various uses of it's oil, especially perfume.

Once T'lana finished meditating, she went back to the en suite and grabbed the bottle of frangipani perfume from the vanity. Spraying herself lightly with the beautiful scent.

Leaving her quarters, T'lana went to engineering to see how the repairs were going, at least that was her excuse anyway, the real reason was that she just didn't want to be alone at the moment.
Entering engineering T'lana noticed Beta, the new crew members and Commander Freeman, all in engineering busy.

Chaya Sar walked over to Morgan and Larial, she was fascinated by the chemical make-up of Tylium Fuel, but felt foolish when she stated.

"The Blue Harvest might know, it would be strange if a ship didn't know what was fueling it. By the way Morgan, I thank you for seeing if you could refuel my vessel, I really appreciate it. But my Viper isn't in desperate need of fuel just yet, the tank is three quarters full at the moment. The Viper Class Starfighter has enough fuel for two weeks of constant sublight travel."

With that said, Chaya Sar walked back to Shuttle Bay One, climbed into the cockpit of the Viper and queried the Computer as to the composition of it's fuel.

The Computer monitor displayed the composition of the Tylium Fuel. The Science Lab analysis was absolutely correct, but the Viper new what the other two elements of the fuel was. As known by the Science Lab Computer, it did have Tritium and Ununpentium. The other two molecules were unique to Chaya Sar's home galaxy, being Carbonite and Tibanna.

Luckily the Starfighter had the molecular make-up of Carbonite and Tibanna, so Chaya downloaded the information to her HoloNet Comlink, climbed back out of the Viper and took the information back to Morgan in the Science Lab.
Once there, Chaya took out her HoloNet Comlink from a hidden pocket in her robes, walked up to Morgan and activated it.

"According to the Blue Harvest Morgan, this is the molecular structure of Tylium Fuel. Sorry, I should have thought the Viper would know what fuel it used."

The information showed Carbonite to be a complex chain of carbon molecules with a crystalline substrate. Tibanna was a complex chain of helium molecules in vapor form.

"Could you synthesize it now Morgan?"

"Captain, I will do an analysis of the fuels with the substance that we found.  It may be a little different but I will know in about one hour."
A few minutes passed by before the tech returned handing the line and the container to Morgan who immediately attached one end of the hose to the container.  It took him a moment to open the fighter fuel door he opened it and stuck in the hose.  Once it was securely placed he pumped a small amount of fuel into the container.
"Now all I have to do is take this back to an engineering lab and analyze the makeup of the fuel.  Captain if you need me I will be in engineering lab 2"   Morgan took the container and walked out of the shuttle bay heading towards the lab.

On the Bridge, T'lana went to her station, with the Captain in his Ready Room T'lana was technically in charge of the Bridge, seeing as they have not had a real XO is so long.

T'lana sat at the Science Station and began a series of sensor sweeps designed to look for quantum displacement, cloaked vessels in other words.

As Taurik was being dragged to the assimilation table, he reached for his weapon, but it was knocked to the ground by one of the drones. Without his khala, and with his abilities drained, he was defenseless.

The Queen then stepped over to her and made mention of his assimilation, and of her intentions with Chaya Sar.

"Kill me or release me," he said. "But realize that I will never submit to the Collective."

((Sorry, but since Morgan is a full Commander, wouldn't it be logical for him to assume command in Taurik's absence, since he is the ranking officer?))

Beta stepped into the room, angry with his programming at not being able to protect the Captain from the Borg.

"Ma'am: with due respect; we shouldn't be in here talking. We should be on the Bridge, fighting to get free of the Borg, to allow us to pursue the Captain! We cannot do a thing with that tractor beam on us!"

After Givrillian activated the USS Rivendell's Multi-Vector Assault Mode, the vessel split into it's three seperate, Warp Capable sections. Unique to the Prometheus Class vessels, the three separate sections of the Rivendell have equal power, with the two sections other than the bridge section, being controlled by the computer.

T'lana looked up from the main engineering console and turned to Chaya Sar. It amazed T'lana just how human Chaya Sar looked, even though she was from another galaxy. There are of course many internal physical differences. When T'lana scanned Chaya, when they first rescued her, she noted just how perfect Chaya's biological structure was. It was though Chaya wasn't born at all, but was created, a Replicant. Either way, T'lana noted that Chaya's biology had none of the usual biological traits of humanoid beings, she had no physical disabilities or disorders at all, that one would expect from a young humanoid woman.

It didn't really matter, T'lana just found it interesting from a scientific point of view. Of course, if any of the Starfleet personnel was to learn of Chaya's perfect biological structure, who knows what might ensue.

"Greetings Chaya, Captain. Captain, Mr. Freeman has noted a significant power loss during the initial engagement of the warp drive, but we believe we have discovered the cause."

T'lana nodded,
~"Aye Captain."~
T'lana closed the message from both consoles which automatically deleted any trace of itself, due to an embedded bot known as a "Poltergeist" which removes any trace with no way to recover the message.

T'lana moved to Commander Morgan Freeman and spoke quietly.
"Come with me to engineering Morgan."

They both left the Bridge, making a stop at her quarters for the PADD containing the specifications for the Jumpdrive, on their way to engineering, Larial in tow.

Once in engineering, T'lana gave the PADD to Morgan.
"Commander, this is a Top Secret Project, so limit the staff required.
Some time ago I was commissioned by the Vulcan Science Directorate, V'Shar and Star Fleet Special Operations, to design a way of creating a Starship mounted Wormhole Induction Propulsion given my work in the field."

T'lana continued...

"This is the end result (points to PADD), and the only copy, which must remain that way for the time being at least.
The Jumpdrive is modular and attaches to any existing Warp Core.
The Antimatter/Matter Reactor of a Starship produces 90% of the energy required to effectively fold spacetime, so to obtain the further 10% to make a Jump, I designed a Zero Point Energy Converter that is built into the Jumpdrive.
I wont go into the science behind it just yet, but I must iterate that this is a Security Level Nine project."

T'lana, finished her lecture with,

"Let's get started Mr. Freeman."

As the Quantum Torpedoes tore through sections of the Borg Cube, the cutting laser lost power. The Borg Cube began immediately regenerating as the cube's Disruptor Banks fired.

Three Borg Drones were beamed onto the vessel, two in engineering and one on the Bridge. The ones in engineering were directed by the Hive Mind to deactivate the Rivendell's Warp Core. The one on the Bridge was directed to capture her Captain and administer the first stage of assimilation, nanoprobes.

"Many have thought as you do, they are now Borg. Why fight me, it is your destiny."

The Central Plexus' Main Holographic Viewer switched to a swirling mass of bioplasmic energy, a collection of Life Forms known to the Borg as SPECIES 0003, known to themselves as the Na'Jigat.

(OFF: I was under the impression that that was the textbook description of a standard warp drive. Pull A and B closer together so it takes less time to get there, essentially. Hence the term "warp".

Of course, being that "warp drive" is such a loose term, it could also be the idea that, since positive amounts of mass are unable to attain light speed, and objects of zero-mass (as in light) can reach exactly light speed, that an object of negative mass would be lighter than light, and can exceed light speed. The warp shell alters the physics of the surrounding area and creates a bubble of negative mass. Within the bubble (as in, onboard the ship), all is normal, but outside the ship, the bubble is able to exceed light speed.

Chaya Sar climbed up to where Morgan was in the cockpit and sat on the nose of her fighter. Bending down she smiled at Morgan on the way and had a look at the fuel Indicator.

Straightening back up, she looked at Morgan and stated,

"Well the fuel tank is half full. The Viper is an economical Starfighter when it comes to fuel. Tylium is a High-Energy fuel, I have no idea what it's made of though."

Chaya Sar looked around the Bay while still sitting on the Viper-Class Space Superiority Starfighter.

Chaya had two weapons on her person. On her left side was her Lightsaber, a Jedi's weapon and her preferred weapon when on a mission, naturally. On her right side and sitting comfortably in it's holster was an energy weapon, called by the beings of her home galaxy as a Blaster Pistol, or just Blaster for short.

The Lightsaber works by emitting highly charged ionized plasma enveloped in an electromagnetic shield. The Lightsaber replenishes fuel as it uses it from an atmosphere.
The Blaster is a Tibanna LASER based weapon powered by a micro-fusion powercell. The LASER pulse is accelerated by an electromagnetic coil along the barrel. There are two settings to a Blaster Pistol; Stun and kill.

Beta followed the memorised route in his head, getting closer and closer with each moment. Left...Right....Right....Left...Straight on.....

Finally, he turned the last corner, and there was the Transwarp node, glowing with an eerie green light. There were no Drones in the vicinity. Attaching the transporter beacon, he activated it, and tapped his ComBadge.

As soon as he said this, two Borg drones rounded the corner and opened fire on him, seemingly alerted to his presence by the signal from the beacon. You have put yourself at risk in lieu of another several times, and have performed your duties far beyond that which is expected. Your single-handed capture of the Borg transwarp coil, while against the orders of your commanding officer, was heroic, to say the least, and I personally appreciate it immensely. It is for these reasons that I hereby grant you the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade, and award you the Christopher Pike Medal of Valor."

T'lana nodded to Morgan and sat down in the chair vacated respectfully by him. Looking at the datastream uncovered a discrepancy that actually should not exist.

The data showed that the intermix chamber, deuterium storage and injector system, antimatter storage and injector system and Electro-Plasma System; were all functioning correctly. T'lana also scanned the telemetry from the Warp Nacelles. There was nothing wrong with the verterium cortenide warp coils and the electro-plasma was flowing correctly through the nacelles in alignment with the Verterium cortenide to create the warp field. In fact the entire Warp Drive system, was functioning correctly, then it hit her, after half and hour of going through the data.
T'lana pointed to the waveform grid display.

"It's as I suspected, the new warp core generates more potential energy, 2.4 billion electron volts. The previous core produced 2.1 billion electron volts. The additional potential energy, is causing the Jump Drive to spin-up prematurely, causing the power drain. As you know, the Jump Drive is connected to the Electro-Plasma System that travels from the warp core to the nacelles. The Jump Drive normally uses a switching system of anodyne relays that prevent the Jump Drive from spinning up prematurely, but they are set at the exact potential energy of the core. You will have to remodulate the anodyne relay switching system."

Walking with T'lana, Morgan walks into the mess hall and sits down awaiting the arrival of the rest of the crew.  His uniform shows signs of the repair efforts that had just finished in engineering.
"The ship is fully functional and now you want to rip out the core to install a slipstream drive."  Morgan was smiling at his friend as he said this.

Beta walked into the mess hall briskly, grasping his hands constantly, as if he was either nervous or energetic. The latter proved to be true as he saw the two senior officers, his face splitting into a beaming smile as he made his way over to them briskly.

He had just tried an energy drink that was the descendant of such earth drinks like Red Bull, wanting to feel what it was like to be human and take in liquids. His programming had been so thorough, though, that the energy released from the drink had made him feel more energetic, much like a human. Unlike humans, though, he hadn't been programmed to know when he had had enough, and had drank 5 cans of the delicious drink, resulting in his current state.

"Commanders!" he exclaimed, patting the both of them on the back, a little over enthusiastically. "How are you doing this fine day?"

OOC: I think it's only fair I get my own little counseling room :P

Luke entered the mess hall after wandering the ship and trying to mentally memorize every corridor for half an hour, he stopped at the door as it swished open revealing a semi-full mess hall. Grunting to himself he felt that he could socialize later(or maybe because he was a little chlosterphobic), he turned and headed back to his corridor.

Morgan reviewed the data with the new information T'lana gave him.  "Your right, its bleeds off into the jump drive when first activated.  I think that we need to run some more tests of the system, care to lend a hand?"

Turning to his other engineers "Ensign T'Kar take command of engineering while Commander T'lana and I test this power bleed off problem."

OOC: This is what I was worried about, people hear wormhole and they think a mouth or window will open in front of the vessel. In actual fact that wouldn't happen. Think STAR WARS and the retconned Battlestar Galactica. In colloquial terms we are actually jumping into Hyperspace, but the technical side of it would be Wormhole Induction Propulsion.
You are folding spacetime between the destination and the ship, which means the ship and it's destination coexist for the jump.
A spacetime vortex would appear for a very short period of time, I gave it 3.26 seconds due to a PARSEC distance, one PARSEC being 3.26 light years. But during a fold it would be the time taken in the vortex for a maximum of 20 light years.

Once the Jumpdrive is activated, vacuum field energy is accelerated through a dynamo producing Gravito-Magnetic energy.
Outside of the vessel a pulse would appear from the front of the vessel to the rear, almost instantly a burst of Quantum Energy and light would appear at the center of the vessel engulfing it.

Aboard the vessel, the ship would appear to go out of focus as spacetime is folded to generate a hyperdimensional corridor. The vessel would suddenly be in a vortex of blue-shifted quantum foam. At the other end of the vortex the initial bursts of Quantum Energy and light would be reversed, jump complete.

Chaya was taken a back by Taurik's statement. Where was she that these beings haven't heard of the Jedi Council?

"The Jedi Council?! Well it...it consists of 12 Jedi Masters and is the ruling body for the Jedi Order. You haven't heard of them? Where am I?"

Chaya Sar was starting to feel a little afraid now.

Chaya Sar looked at Taurik with her head slightly cocked to the side in a quizzical manor and asked.

"Na'Jigat? Energy Beings? It sounds like a worthy cause, but in my galaxy we have no Energy Beings that we need to fight or anything like that. Every sapient becomes one with the force when the physical form ceases to function and their essence lives on in the force. Is that what you mean?"

Chaya Sar continued. "Anyway, I will assist you if that is what you desire and of course if I am welcome aboard your vessel?"

Materializing on the Station in a blue haze of the well known and often appreciated, Transporter matter-stream. After the matter-energy-matter conversion, T'lana took out her Tricorder and scanned the area.

- The geographical function, showed that they were two decks and three corridors from a main computer terminal.
- The Metallurgical function of T'lana's Tricorder, showed that the station's construction material was not that different from Starfleet with Titanium, Duranium and Boronite compounds making up most of the space-frame and bulkheads. One compound that differed greatly from Starfleet design was a crystalline compound of the titanate group interlaced within the inner workings of the substructure and electronic systems.
- The Biological function of T'lana's Tricorder showed 135 Starfleet personnel of species; Vulcan, Trill, Human, Bolian, Denobulan and Caitian.

"Captain, the nearest main computer terminal is two decks below us and three corridors towards the center of the station, in one of the Science Labs."

Chaya closed her eyes in order to find the invaders,

"They are on this deck, not far from our location, heading towards us."

Chaya opened her eyes again and drew her Lightsaber, igniting it. Moving slowly and soundlessly toward the door, she waited there posed like a predator, ready to pounce.

(OOC:  They might have a problem with busting out "Voyager-style"...I would think transphasic torpedoes were confiscated by some temporal department, probably based in the future, to prevent further disruption the timeline.  Even if they didn't, transphasic torpedoes don't seem to be in common use from what I can tell and, as far as I know, they were the most effective weapon against the Borg so far, though I think quantum torpedoes are a close second.  Unless you want to take out some kind of weapon that is in between transphasic and quantum torpedoes, you just might be out of luck.  Well, you might be able to do that thing where the ship breaks up into three smaller ones, since this is a Prometheus-class vessel, it might give you an edge, though I don't know how much room you will have to move around.)

<Immediately after his return to the Rivendell>

As soon as Beta materialised in the Transporter room, he stood straight from his slightly crouched position, and handed his rifle to one of the nearby NCOs, instructing them to put it in it's locker. He then headed straight for the Bridge, where he logged into his console immediately and relieved PO Sarpedon from having to concentrate on both Helm and Tactical, coordinating with Orpheus to utilise the Rivendell's weaponry as effectively as possible in conjunction with the other ships in the battle group and the other two sections of the Rivendell herself.

<After the Sphere's destruction>

Beta began cycling through the various post-battle diagnostics, citing the various readings for the acting Captain to hear.

"Minor hull breaches on a total of 4 decks, and microfractures throughout the hull. Overall shield strength has been reduced to 71% on section one, 59% on section 2, and 65% on section three. All three sections now integrating....distributing shield strength evenly." he reported, tapping in the various commands on his console.

Taurik listened intently, his face betraying his amazement. "My own abilities are very similar. However, myself, and those of my order, derive our power from within, from the power of our own minds. My order trains for a singular purpose, to defend against and defeat a very volatile and hostile lifeform, the Na'jigat. Like you, we have advanced telekinetic powers, but my caste, the Sentinels, train in psionic warfare specifically. We must do so because it is the only way to combat the Na'jigat, who are beings of pure energy."

Taurik entered the transporter room a moment after T'lana and Chaya. Since it was a Starfleet installation - and he had his khala firmly affixed to his belt - he passed up on donning a phaser.

Once all four of them had arrived, the transporter chief fired up the pattern buffers.

"Energize," came Taurik's single word.

Almost simultaneously, Taurik drew his own energy weapon. As they moved toward the door, Taurik saw the young woman take position on one side of the door, therefore, Taurik took the other.

Waiting on opposite sides of the door, Taurik and Chaya met gazes. Both were experienced warriors, and it didn't take telepathy for them to be able to read each other's intentions.

The Vulcan master resisted the urge to reach out with his mind to sense the intruders, realizing that any further attempts at telepathic probing may alert them to an enemy presence. Instead, he relied on his more physical senses, and strained to hear anything he could, such as a bootfall.

The captain entered the mess hall exactly at 1800 hours, as soon as the last of the senior staff had arrived. He took his spot at the head of the larger banquet table, "Thank you all for coming," he said. "We are here today, not to discuss battle plans, or to ponder on the happenings of this war, but to celebrate the success of this ship and it's crew, and to honor those members of this crew who have performed above and beyond their call. It is a human custom to hold such honors in a public gathering, and while I believe this shows an undue importance on personal pride, I can also respect the affect it has on morale."

Taurik laid out three oaken cases before him on the table, and chose the first. "Petty Officer First Class Givrillian Sarpedon, for your dutiful and unwavering service to this vessel and it's crew, and for your tireless commitment to your post, I hereby award you with the rank of Chief Petty Officer."

Taurik displayed the new rank pin inside the box, and waited for Sarpedon to stand.

Larial was now connected with the ships internal and external sensor grid. All in all the USS Rivendell was a superbly built vessel for humans, but there were certain alterations that would make the vessel more efficient. Also there were repairs that should be done to increase the vessels performance.

===Optical Overlay===

>Disconnecting with host computer<

Larial opened her eyes and looked at Morgan.

"I have finished my scans, there are several micro-fractures on the hull that should be repaired. Three EPS conduits are working below normal operating specifications, they are in section 25, deck 5 and section 12, deck 2. The Main Computer Core's Operating System has several corrupted files. The external sensors are out of alignment by 0.023 microns. As to the efficiency of the vessel, the Warp Nacelles should be further apart than they are for a more efficient Warp Field generation and the Impulse Engines should be ion based."

Larial got up off the chair to allow her father to take his station back.

"But maybe that is just me."

Taurik thought for a few moments more. "Perhaps the examination of a Heraani database would help. Mr. Sarpedon, set a course for the Federation planetary base Red Acropolis. Engage at warp eight."

Chaya Sar gestured with her hands as she explained.

"Jedi scholars have tried to come up with that very answer. The closest answer anyone has come up with, is that the force is an energy field, a universal life force of living energy. Life creates it and in turn, it creates life."

Chaya continued, "To many superstitious sapients in my galaxy it is magic. To the Jedi it is a unifying field of living energy. Those like many who are force-sensitive, can manipulate the force, bending it and in turn everything else to our will. But the force also speaks to us, telling us it's will, but in subtle ways."

Chaya Sar looked at a PADD on the desk and a two seater form couch behind her.

"Accessing the force you can achieve feats that are otherwise impossible, from the smallest objects, for instance that data device, to even that couch behind me."

Raising her hand she accessed the force, the atmosphere of the Ready Room seemed to become charged as the PADD lifted off the desk and remained suspended in the air. Further manipulation caused the PADD to fly around the room and settle back down onto the desk.

"Size doesn't matter when it comes to the force."

Chaya stood and accessed the force again, causing the couch to float up off the floor by itself, raising up to the ceiling and then settling back down to the floor.

Chaya Sar sat back down in the chair.

"If the need arose, I could just as simply manipulate this vessel, or even a planet. But that is not our way. Most if not all Force-Users only utilize a small fraction of what the force can do, as the old idiom suggests: Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. We are trained not to go beyond that which is required to complete certain tasks."

The captain began perusing the translated Heraani databanks, finding several articles to be poorly translated. He was relieved to find that the original data files were also present, still displayed in their native Heraan. Luckily, as a member of the Gallifreyan Order, he was able to read Heraan somewhat fluently.

However, he was interrupted by Chaya. "What?" he said. "Can you locate them?"

The diagnostic had finished some time ago, but the computer didn't interrupt T'lana with the news, instead using a scrawling message on her station.

T'lana looked down, noticing the message.

"Computer, report on diagnostic."

Computer: Internal sensors are functioning within normal parameters.

If Vulcans actually let their imaginations function within their conscious mind, T'lana would blame that. But having an imagination and using it are two different things and with the Vulcan control over all aspects of mental function, it was obvious that some form of presence was aboard the USS Rivendell. Logically, it would be an alien being using a personal cloak.

There are several beings in the galaxy that use Person Cloaks: Whether it be by a Phase-Shift Generator, or by means of most Cloaking Devices; an ultra-high frequency electromagnetic field generator, effectively bending light around the user. Either way, they are hard to detect.

===INTERNAL MESSAGE SYSTEM===

To: Chief Medical Officer
From: Chief Science Officer
We are testing a Wormhole Induction Propulsion Drive, or Jump Drive for short.
The effects of spacial Displacement due to the folding of the spacetime continuum to generate a Hyperdimensional Corridor (or Wormhole) may have an effect on those with an imbalance in their Cerebral Cortex. This disorientation is short lived - approximately ten minutes - and only effects one in one hundred humans.

Please inform the Captain if such a disorientation, mainly dizziness and the like, effects any of the crew.

Regards
Lt. Commander T'lana.

===End Message===

Moving back to the Captain's side, T'lana states,
"I have informed the Chief Medical Officer Captain."

T'lana was watching her console, running a simulation with the external sensors and Main Deflector protocols, in order to make a more accurate transition with the Jump Drive. T'lana had finished with her twenty third simulation, using Interdimensional Mathematics. When the particular sensors she was using, registered a real Interdimensional energy emission.

"Captain, I believe we are receiving a signal, it appears to be an emergency transponder beacon, but I can not be sure. It's frequency output is sufficient enough to fold spacetime, which leaves out most lifeforms in the Milkyway galaxy as a possible source."

T'lana was watching the Shuttle Bay on her monitor as the alien craft was tractored in. The vessel's Landing Skids lowered automatically, 2 meters off the deck of the Shuttle Bay. T'lana zoomed in on the craft's Cockpit Canopy, to see a helmeted person inside.
Although it was difficult to see what the pilot looked like, it was obvious that the being was in some form of suspended animation.
The landing assistance tractor beam generator, brought the craft in for a soft landing, just as it's Landing Skids were fully locked down.

T'lana could clearly see the markings on the craft, which after a search, are unknown to the Federation.

The Borg Queen snapped, "What a small minded being you have become, Three of Twelve."

The Borg Queen made a point of saying Taurik's Borg designation, sensing his fear through the Neural Implant.

While she spoke the Borg Queen linked a directive to two of her personal drones to grab Taurik, forcing him onto an assimilation slab, that was rising out of the floor of the Central Plexus.

"Bring back memories for you Three of Twelve?" The Borg Queen asked sadistically.

The drones forced Taurik onto the slab, where a static field held him in place. The drones were then directed to back away and the Borg Queen stood over Taurik, in all her hellish glory.

"You fascinate me Three of Twelve, I had thought of assimilating you again, I still might. But this Chaya Sar is the one I am after. She may have destroyed several of my drones, but will she do so with you as my...guest."

"Your senses are quite astute. I, too, am gifted with abilities that are quite rare. I can feel similar abilities in you, but like you, they seem different than my own."

Taurik continued. "You speak often of this 'Force'. If I may ask, what is it?"

"I see no problems with that, just be cautious." T'lana felt a slight electric shock go through her body. It was obvious to her now that the nanites were indeed malfunctioning and that meant her life was in danger, how long, was unknown and all this was just guessing anyway.

Beta powered the phasers to 50%, and set them to the exit path of a craft flying out of the shuttlebay, just in case, and linked himself to the tactical station's systems, allowing himself limited control while not at the station. He then sent an electronic message to various points throughout the ship:

"Consider it done, Captain." he said, as his holographic image disappeared from the bridge, reappearing at the armoury nearest the shuttlebay. Grabbing a rifle, he walked the rest of the way, setting the weapon to stun.

Chaya Sar sensed a whisper in the force and slowly walked over to Taurik, talking quietly she stated.

"Taurik, we are not alone, I sense two beings on this station that have a negative feeling towards the rest of the beings here."

Chaya Sar moved her hand toward her Lightsaber and accessed the force. The atmosphere around the Away Team became slightly charged with static-electricity.
Title: Mission 12: "When It Rains..."
Post by: Chaya Sar on November 10, 2007, 08:34:01 AM
"I shall do my best T'lana."

Chaya Sar grabbed her Lightsaber and ignited it. Moving taking the turbolift, to the nearest deck where the Borg were, she quickly dispatched a drone nearest her.
Coming across another drone she attempted to dispatch it using her Lightsaber, which was blocked by the Drones personal shield. Careful not to let it touch her she used force push to knock it away, successfully pushing it into a bulkhead. The drone got back up again and attempted to grab Chaya, leaping over the Borg she force pushed it again.

To Chaya, this wasn't getting anywhere so she grabbed her Blaster, at the highest level, she fired the weapon. The coherent burst of light-energy passed through it's shields and straight through it's body, destroying it.
Chaya moved on to the next and the next, using the Blaster, it wasn't until the next Borg that proved the Blaster to be now useless. Re-holstering the Blaster and deactivating and hilting her Lightsaber, Chaya saw no other way but to use a power she thought she would never have to use; Force Lightning.

Before Chaya could think of the consequences of using force lightning, a dark-side power, another Borg rounded the corner and nearly had her. Raising her hands, arcs of devastating bio-electric energy flowed out from her hands, penetrating the Borg's shields, flowing through and around it's body, quickly draining energy from it and electrocuting it simultaneously. Force Lightning is the only force-user power that is uncontrollable. Once used, anything in the path of the arcs of bio-energy is decimated, making force lightning the worst force power there is.

feeling the rush of power, Chaya Sar went from Borg to Borg,  deck to deck, destroying each one with force lightning, until no Borg was left on the Rivendell.
Chaya collapsed with exhaustion and euphoria, it is very tempting to use the force to it's fullest potential, but as the saying goes; Power corrupts, absolute power, corrupts absolutely. Chaya never truly understood that, till now.

Regaining her strength, Chaya went back to the Bridge, trying her best to control the godlike euphoric feeling she was having now, trying desperately to remind herself of the Jedi Code.

"It is done." She stated to T'lana, who was unable to follow Chaya's progress since she used the lightning ability.

The Borg Cube intensified it's Neuralitic Field and while Taurik was regaining his strength, a drone placed a Neural Inhibitor near Taurik's Temporal Lobe.

<UNIMATRIX 01>

The Borg Queen was watching and analyzing the playback and telemetry from the events on the USS Rivendell. The Borg Queen was fascinated by it all. She wasn't afraid, worried or anything like that, she was simply fascinated. With this fascination, came a plan.

<BORG CUBE 3933723>

An image was projected into Taurik's mind, via his Neural Implant, the image was of Chaya Sar and what she had done to the drones.

"THIS SPECIES IS UNKNOWN TO US, WHAT IS THIS BEING'S DESIGNATION? YOU WILL COMPLY."

While the Hive-Mind was speaking to Taurik, the Borg Cube activated it's Transwarp Drive, headed for Unimatrix 01. The Borg Sphere still had the Rivendell in a tractor beam.

Taurik has been granted an audience with the Borg Queen.

"Please, call me Chaya." Chaya Sar said, smiling slightly.
"I would be pleased to Taurik, may I call you Taurik? Anyway, I sense more than just curiosity."

Jedi Knight Chaya Sar sat down in the chair opposite Taurik, with an air of extreme power, mixed with youthful naivety and an inherent vulnerability. Like most of her kind, the aura force-sensitives have seems to excite electrostatic particles that naturally occur in an atmosphere.

Those who are not "gifted" feel uncomfortable being around those that are, inversely and those that are "gifted" can sense the change in the atmosphere - specifically the aforementioned electrostatic particles.

"I sense you have more abilities than your fellow crew, it's in the ways of the force, but different."

"SETTING NAVIGATION, UNICOMPLEX, ENGAGING TRANSWARP DRIVE."

Royal Transport 01 engaged it's transwarp engines for the Borg Unicomplex, exiting transwarp a few moments later.

Once at the unicomplex, the Royal Transport reconnected with the unicomplex, attaching it's umbilicals and powering down it's Gravimetric Engines and Transwarp Drive.

The Borg Queen looked at Taurik, "An alliance between the Borg and the lesser species would be difficult. Our vast superiority can be intimidating, I know. But I do believe that an alliance with you lesser species and your federations and empires, would have a better chance of success against the Na'Jigat. So your suggestion does have merit, or as you species 3259 are fond of constantly saying, it is quite logical."

The Borg Queen continued, "So yes, the Borg Collective accept your alliance. You may return to your vessel."

The Borg Queen directed one of her drones to remove the neural suppression device from Taurik's temporal lobe.

"Bare in mind Three of Twelve, once the Na'Jigat have been neutralized, the alliance will be dissolved. If we meet again, you and yours will be assimilated."

With that said, the Borg Queen beamed Three of Twelve - Taurik - back to the USS Rivendell.

Taking out a Tricorder, T'lana seemed to always keep on her person, she scanned the canopy and it's occupant.

"Captain, the pilot appears to be a female humanoid and definitely in some form of suspended animation. The stasis she is in appears to be congruent with the cockpit, opening the canopy should bring the pilot out of suspended animation."

The captain drew his khala, trying to shut out the voices of the Borg in his head, as well as the voice around him. Unsure of the consequences, he ignited his khala and plunged it into the psi-dampening field. It sputtered slightly, and Taurik took his chance. He projected as much energy as possible outward, and although it took a moment, the field collapsed, and every drone within twenty meters fell dead, suffering from massive cranial aneurysms.

He took a moment to collect himself, having fallen to the floor, and reclaimed his weapon, igniting it again. He also drew his phaser, as he was weak, and would need to meditate before exerting his abilities again.

T'lana was fascinated by Larial, she definitely was a marvel of technology and a credit to Morgan's expertise as an engineer.
Larial's Positronic Brain is evolving quickly and she seems to be learning at an exponential rate.

Apparently Captain Taurik must be still mulling over the suggestions T'lana and Morgan have made in regards to testing the Jumpdrive in order to catch the attention of any cloaked vessels. It would also be logical to inform the crew of the Jumpdrive and it's operation, it is one thing to keep it a secret from your enemies, it is another to keep it a secret from the crew.

T'lana went back to work at her Science Station and scanned the area using the electromagnetic sensors to scan any anomalies or shifts in quantum particles. She new it was like looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack, as the humans say, but at least the area to scan was the proximate area to the station.

"No sign of any cloaked vessels thus far Captain, it is logical to assume that whether or not there is a cloaked vessel in proximity to the station, they do not want to be found. The USS Rivendell's sensors are not efficient enough to locate them, of course there is another way, the Radiant Thunder, it is a Gallifreyan vessel and obviously more advanced."

"Captain," Beta said, looking up from his console. "I am reading a starship a few clicks off our port stern. I believe this may be where the signal is coming from. The signal is distorted, however, and I am unable to get a read of it's class, or origin currently."

His computerised logical 'brain' deduced that there was a possibility that the distortion was intentional, and therefore there was also a high probability of an ambush. While he spoke to the Captain, he raised the shields and began trickling power to the phaser banks - just enough to get them ready for full power at a moments notice, but not enough for it to be detectable.

OOC: At present, our Chief Engineer is not well. So we will simply skip ahead.
-Transwarp Node installed and functioning correctly, when mission is complete, the Transwarp Node will suddenly and mysteriously burn-out, in true Star Trek fashion.
-Mr. Beta's Holomatrix has been tested and reports came back with no apparent corruption. This will be left up to the player.
-Repairs on the USS Rivendell and Battle Group Thirteen, with Transwarp Drives being installed in the Battle Group vessels as well.
-It is up to our Captain, as to who the Heraani allies are and their identity.

Sarpedon tapped the controls on his panel, and the USS Rivendell dropped out of warp, slowing to a stop in space.

This doesn't feel right... he thought to himself, so he made sure to keep all drives - Jump, Warp and Impulse Drives, along with the manoeuvring thrusters - fully powered, ready to snap into action at any moment.

"All stop confirmed, Captain."

Chaya Sar walked along side T'lana and was all to happy to think of something other than her current situation.

"Well to explain the Jedi, it would be best to explain the force first. The force is a living energy field, that is created by life, in turn the force creates life. A never ending cycle of matter to energy to matter again. The force, or as it is sometimes called; The living force, is an energy field that surrounds us, penetrates us and binds the universe together, to quote a famous Jedi from history.
Jedi scientists have sort for millennia the true nature of the force and despite our galactic society and technology, the force still remains a mystery. There were many that likened the force as a unifying energy field, that bridges the gap between the four main forces of nature: Gravity, Electromagnetic, Strong Nuclear and Weak Nuclear. That to me seems to be the best explanation, given the metaphysical nature of the force.
The Jedi are those who choose to further their understanding of the force and life, the universe and everything, basically.
As there is a dual nature to everything, where there is the light side, those who choose the Jedi path. There is a darkside, those who choose to use the force for greed and personal gain.
We Jedi are the peacekeepers of my home galaxy, we choose to protect and serve, rather like Police Officers really. But we also choose to better ourselves through knowledge and meditation and there is a strict code of conduct we adhere to. The Sith, or darkside users, choose the path of chaos and evil."

Chaya Sar smiled sadly at T'lana,

"Does that answer your questions?"

T'lana was suitably impressed with this girl, she looks so young, in yet seems to know so much.

"Then it is logical to assume that this gravity well generating ship was not functioning properly or you would not have been thrown into the Milkyway Galaxy. Given your information and the data your ship's Navigation Computer gathered, the Gravity Well Ship, created a micro-singularity within the Interdimensional Vortex your vessel was transitioning through. Causing the negative energy to work against it, apposing polarities as it will. This in turn, caused your vessel to be catapulted through Hyperspace. The Hyperdrive finally shut down, but not until it could neutralize the excess negative energy and that is where we discovered you here in the Milkyway Galaxy as the humans call it."

For such a small craft Captain, I am getting an energy reading of 10 to the 19,000,000,000 electron volts...Captain that is the highest amount of energy, technology can produce."

"If I were to guess captain, it appears to be a fighter craft of some kind."

T'lana was impressed by what the sensors were showing, every electromagnetic frequency of the craft was showing a vessel not only alien to the Federation, but it seems alien to the entire galaxy.

Then it was discovered I was force-sensitive and was shipped to Coruscant for training in the way of the Jedi. I was on my way back to Naboo for a well deserved holiday and suddenly I am catapulted to another galaxy, with no way of getting back. I mean it is possible to jump back to the my galaxy, but there would be nothing for the Navigation Computer to lock onto. It would be shear luck that I would be able to get back, this really is unprecedented, for all I know, the Blue Harvest could return as easily as it could cross a galaxy."

The holographic projectors in engineering warmed up again, constructing a body out seemingly out of thin air. The slow boot-up of his systems caused Beta to slowly compose piece by piece. A pair of boots materialised on the floor, and as the program worked it's magic, legs materialised, followed by a torso, arms, and then slowly a head formed, a full and a hollow pin on the side of the neck.

Holographic Officer Beta looked up towards the ceiling and 'breathed' in, making full use of all his sensory programs.

"Sir." The young engineer who had been performing the diagnostics and maintenance looked up at him. He was a relatively short Petty Officer, but behind the low rank pin and yellow tunic was a wealth of experience with holographic programs. "I've finished the diagnostics and purged the excess energy from your reserves. I've also installed a new subroutine Command asked me to work on. It's still in it's Beta stages, but it should simulate the feeling of when you've had enough of a consumable." he explained with a slight Irish accent.

"Thank you, Petty Officer." Beta said, smiling at the man, truly grateful. He had requested the diagnostic after he had embarrassed himself an his crew mates at the promotion and awards ceremony.

Glancing up, he noticed a few crew members that had not been on the manifest when he shut down. Checking the manifest again, he noticed a few new crew additions, in varying departments. Thanking the Petty Officer again, he began to head towards the security office, to make use of the consoles there and do some checking up on the new crew members.

In order to negate the effects of Wormhole Induction Propulsion, we would need to induce a Quantum Gravity field within the ship. Therefore it would require alterations of the Anti-gravity Generators."

T'lana continued,

"Bare in mind Captain, tests showed that only one out of one hundred people would be susceptible to the effects of a jump and then the degrees of the effect are variable. The disorientation lasts only ten minutes and is due to an imbalance in the Cerebral Cortex, a dose of tetracyclin should negate any effects that occur. It does happen though, so I thought it was worth a mention."

Chaya Sar looked at the data and sighed.

"Yes, I know what happened now. You see, where I am from, all Hyperdrives are programmed to not work within the influence of a significant gravity well like a planet or star. In Hyperspace, if the Hyperdrive detects the same form of gravity well, it is programmed to drop to normal space, in order for recalculation of the Navigation Computer for another jump. So the previous administration of my galaxy, the Galactic Empire created vessels that could simulate a gravity well, making a Hyperspace transitioning vessel drop to normal space, where they can then capture the occupants.
Even though the Empire is no more, pirates and other disreputable beings, including those who wish the Empire to return to power, utilize these installations for their cause. Whatever that may be."

"Take a look at this. The potential energy of Chaya Sar's vessel is off the scale in comparison to the potential energy capabilities of anything Starfleet and for that matter, the entire galaxy has achieved. According to these readings, her vessel produces the potential energy on the scale of Planck Energy, that is ten to the nineteen billion electron volts. He saw a crewman in the corridor and asked "Crewman, i was just posted on this ship by Starfleet, i want to introduce myself to the captain, where can i find him?"
The crewman look at him like if he was mesuring him then said "Welcome aboard, sir! Well you will find the captain and the first officer in Engineering... well actually you'll find most of them in Engineering..." then smiled and turned away.

Sarpedon pulled up the data relevant to the upgrade on his screen. It was an impressive piece of technology. He didn't understand all the science behind it, but if what his console was telling him was correct, they'd be able to travel enormous distances almost instantly.

He began running some simulations on his console, with a 99% success rate. The other 1% was due to some instabilities created by the wormholes, the effects of which seemed to differ each time they occurred, though Sarpedon programmed in a set of subroutines that should easily compensate for it.

"Ready when you are, Captain." he said. "Spinning up the new drive."

T'lana nodded back to Captain Taurik and left the Science Station to observe Petty Officer Sarpedon's progress.

"Very good Mr. Sarpedon, it is agreeable that we are testing the Jumpdrive with you at the helm. Bring us out of Warp first before making the test Jump."

T'lana then went ahead and briefed Mr. Sarpedon on the Jumpdrive's operation, quietly enough that only Givrillian could hear her.

"Because Stellar Cartography is updated constantly, there is no need to compensate for stellar drift, so refer to Stellar Cartography before making a Jump, then it is just a simple matter of using the ship's long range sensors to select an exit vector. The Jumpdrive takes one minute to spin-up, two minutes cool down each jump and one minute to spin-down."

T'lana decided it would be prudent to give the Petty Officer some praise as humans seem to thrive on support.
"I am confident that you will do well Mr. Sarpedon, once out of Warp, collapse the Warp Field, then Jump at your discretion."
T'lana walked away from the Helm Sation to stand not far from the Captain, there was no point being at the Science Station and sometimes just sometimes, being next to a fellow Vulcan brought comfort to her.

Looking to Mr. Freeman, T'lana nodded,

"Monitor the collapse of the Warp Field Chief and monitor the flow of Vacuum Field Energy and the Gravito-magnetic flux."

Quietly speaking to the Captain, she stated,

"Captain, initial tests by Spec-Ops Medical, showed that certain people, especially humans, could be susceptible to moderate to extreme disorientation after a Jump. So the Chief Medical Officer should be informed."

"I must say Captain, Mr. Sarpedon is an adept Helm Officer."

"Yes I know, SPECIES 0002, they call themselves the Gallifreyans. We have known of Gallifrey for millennia, it was a lonely Galaxy back then." The Borg Queen smiled.

IC:

T'lana had just finished her report after analyzing the sensor telemetry from their last mission, just as Ensign T'Kar asked his question.

"The Captain is with Admiral Karelia and the Jedi Knight we rescued. He is introducing her to the Admiral. Any specific reason for your inquiry Mr. T'Kar?"

"How I came to possess such things is... irrelevant. Suffice it to say, I was granted quite a gift by a friend of mine."

Taurik closed his eyes, and tried to meditate, if not to think of a means of escape, then just to pass the time.

I just wanted to meet the captain and tell him personally it is an honor to serve aboard his ship. Would it be appropriate for me to go now or should I wait until he is done?

"Larial, Very impressive deductions.  You have progressed well my dear child.  Please add the micro-fractures on the hull, and the three EPS conduits to the engineering repair schedule.  As for the computer glitches, why don't you fix them."

Morgan stood closer to his daughter and whispered in her year "For future reference my daughter, A captain does not take kindly to being told there are design flaws in his ship, if you have any further observations like the nacelle placement please tell me about them."

The Borg Queen stopped walking around her chamber and came up to Taurik, bending closer to him on the assimilation table.

"Oh I am sorry Three of Twelve, I thought I made it quite clear, you are bate."

The Borg Queen smiled sardonically. "I was merely filling in time, with polite conversation. Tell me, how did you come about such a fascinating weapon and abilities beyond that of your species?"

The Borg Queen acted sincere, whether she was or not would have to be left to the observer. She could easily just assimilate Taurik or Three of Twelve, as the Borg Queen constantly reminded him. But that wouldn't be indicative to her real objective, which thanks to centuries of practice, from the machine side of her at least, would never be obviously apparent.

As much as anyone thinks they know of the Borg Queen's objectives, there was always a deeper one that meant more to her. No other species really did know the true origins of the Borg, but thanks to the Machine Intelligence, the Borg Queen did.
All that really is known, is that the Borg in one form or the other are old, quite possibly as old or older than the universe itself.

Once the USS Rivendell had exited transwarp, the Borg Transwarp Node could no longer maintain a working status with the power that was feeding it. Burning out just as the Rivendell returned to sublight velocities.

"Captain, might I suggest that you see the doctor and then get some rest from your ordeal."

"Oh I see, I am sorry father."

Larial closed her eyes reconnecting with the Main Computer, she altered the Engineering repair schedule and repaired the corruption to the Computer's Operating System.

Disconnecting, she opened her eyes and looked to her father.

"It is done, I have updated the repair schedule and fixed the corrupted files of the Computer."

OOC: I had to read 10 pages to catch up on how the captain got onto a borg cube :p

Things seemed to have calmed down a bit since earlier. Luke entered the bridge, still feeling a little bit unstable after having a up-close meeting with a Borg drone earlier right outside the holodeck.

He took 'round the bridge and took his shift position next to the tactical console, taking a deep breath in and exhaling as he tried to keep himself together. His eyes turned towards the Captain in his seat as he began to calm and take a look around the bridge, he raised an eyebrow. He had the slightest urge to ask the Captain what happened when he was transported out of the ship.

"It does actually, thank you."

They both arrived back at Shuttle Bay One, to everyone that was there when the Viper was brought on board.

T'lana made her way to the Captain and handed him the PADD with the Navigational Data and a summary of conclusion from said data.

"This will explain everything Captain."

Post by: Chaya Sar on November 25, 2007, 05:12:25 PM
Chaya Sar hadn't realized it, but she had fallen asleep in the observation lounge. She remembered the Borg Sphere thing, but that was about it. It wasn't because Chaya was tired as such, it was an after effect of stasis. Since the Jedi Knight had been awake ever since her rescue by the USS Rivendell, she hadn't slept. She stayed awake as long as she could, but apparently Chaya Sar really needed to sleep.

Chaya Sar stretched and stood from the table, reasoning that if the Rivendell crew needed her, they would have woken her...right?!

Leaving the observation room, Chaya was shocked to see Taurik in the Command Chair and the vessel heading towards some sort of Space Station.

Running over to Taurik, before he left the bridge, Chaya gave him a hug. "It's great to see you Taurik, are you alright? Sorry I was not able to help you, but apparently the post stasis effect caught up with me."

OOC:

POSTING RULES

" " - Talking marks are used for speaking text
=A= - This ascii code is used for starfleet subspace communications as well as inter-ship/combadge communications.

Example of subspace communications:

=A=USS Rivendell to Space Station Avalon=A=

"This is Commander T'lana, request permission to dock."

=A=USS Rivendell Out=A=

Example of inter-ship/combadge communications:

=A=T'lana to Freeman=A=

"Commander Freeman, please come to the bridge."

=A=T'lana out=A=

OR:

=A="(Rank optional) Mr. Freeman, this is (rank optional) T'lana, please meet me on the bridge."=A=

Expansion Fleet, as with most forum based RPG's, allows you to place actions, situations, status and thoughts with the posts, these are performed with normal text. However, if there is a significant thought to the plot of the storyline/mission, some prefer to place these within asterisk's, without the talking marks of course.

~ + Italics - This is used for telepathic communications. As with subspace communications, telepathy is usually transmission specific.

~~ and ~ - Instead of =A= (Talking marks, still to be used)

@@ and @ - To be used for non-starfleet vessels' subspace communications.

"I find it interesting father." Stated Larial, smiling at Morgan.

Suddenly Larial stumbled and lost cognitive functions for a moment. Her Optical System Display (OSD) gave no warning, therefore Larial's subprocessor did not sense the problem before it occurred.

The moment passed and her Neural Net returned to normal operating procedure.

Larial attempted to run a diagnostic, but for some reason that function was not working, neither at the moment was her OSD.
