As Swifts team reported its return, Lurado stood.
"Commander Lollock, target the torpedo on the freighter".
He looked on as the XO set the tactical station to target the cargo ship.When it was complete, he walked to the tactical console, moving his hand to the control.
"Torpedo away" he called in a low voice. They all turned to watch the viewscreen, as the freighter was destroyed.

Lurado took a breath, and returned to his chair.
"Helm, set a course to SS Avalon, engage at maximum warp. We still have to avoid the Heraan, we are not out of this yet".

"Yes, you can go there yourself for your own. I plan on heading there shortly myself. Take a look at the tactical systems. Ensign Swift will be your assistant in tactical and security, he should arrive shortly".

OOC: Do you have a problem Teranis? We were not going to make it a trap, and so I destroyed it. That having happened, the answers to your questions could not have been any more obvious.

Lurado studied the viewscreen as the away team gathered on in the transporter room.
"Mr. Nonir, as soon as the away team is transported, bring us about to face the Heraan vessels. Commander Lollock, I believe this is a perfect time to try our Pulse Phasers. Now our primary goal is to allow the away team time to work, we protect the freighters from fire at all costs".

He tapped his comm badge.
=A=Sickbay: Doctor Travis, prepare for heavy casualties from the away team. If you need space, you are free to prepare triage units in the neighboring rooms on deck two=A=

OOC: I don't believe the Iroquois has a cloaking device. If I have it right, the Defiant had one because of a deal with the Romulans. So it wouldn't be a default thing on a Defiant class ship

"Excellent work Mr. Teranis. So we can check engineering as ready, we have yet to hear from the medical and science sections. I will get some news from them, and take a look around the ship. Commander Lollock, the bridge is yours".

He stood from the command chair, and left the bridge for the turbolift, taking the short ride to the close lower deck for sickbay.

"Doctor Travis, we are going to transport the wounded directly to sickbay, my reason for calling you here is no longer relevent now that we're disabled. You can meet Mr. Starchaser in sickbay to treat the injured. Commander Cook, We have to get this ship's systems functioning again, I want you to work with Mr. Teranis on that. It may not be pure science, but we're not in that kind of situation now unfortunately".

He assigned the two officers to the primary needs for the ship, and turned back to the helm.

"Energize as quickly as you can, Lt. Nonir".

"Take us to red alert Commander. Any unusual readings on anyones station, however slight, report it. Send a transmission to the freighters last known location, if they're still out there, we have to get help to them".

Lurado scanned the bridge, and noticed one of the stations, which he wanted filled.

"Your pet is welcome on this ship. Its bounds would be your quarters, and any recreational facilities. Which we have none of on this ship. Perhaps the mess hall. Cramped for the animal, but so goes life on a Defiant".

"I agree with Mr. Teranis, helm, engage at the highest level of impulse we can maintain, set a course for SS Avalon. We cannot get far on only impulse, but it's all we can do for now".
He watched the freighters sitting in space as the Iroquois changed course.
"Halcyon, do you have any record of what those cargo ships were carrying?".

Lurado nods, "He can use any assistance I am sure".

By now, the Heraan ships which had been firing at the Iroquois had been destroyed, or nearing destruction, from the last torpedo fire from the Iroquois damaged weapons system. The Iroquois sat dead in space, without impulse engines or warp drive, almost no weapons. Targeting sensors were offline, the deflector was flucuating, and general scans could not be taken. The ships emergency power was engaged, and the light was a distasteful dim. Only one thing was a relief: There was peace. Even among the damage and danger of being stuck, there was some calm permitted after the combat.

Lurado had just arrived at the door to sickbay when the call for him came. He turned quickly, and took a quick pace walk to the turbolift again, quickly again getting back on the bridge.

"Report".
