U.S.S. Mannon / Mission One: The Leap Before the Step

"I think since all the crew are on the bridge we can meet here. For now lets keep under Red alert. We have advantages and disadvantages. Our advantage is this, They continue to fail to understand that we expected every move of theirs like a chess game. Except we've been playing longer than they have. With all their brain power they have no room for common sense. And so the simple things pass them by. Half is in place. The FSS has operatives througout the fleet. I will not speak the names. But one very knowledgable person was able to put in this Andros the half of a weapon. Yet it is no physical object. By preparing for everything, we have no blind spots. Our disadvantage, these people have an unlimited supply of powers. They can see our mind, control our mind. And somehow use it to inflict damage to our vessel. These are not Q we're dealing with. They have some external way. Its simply not plausable for a mind to do anything to anything other than a mind. Computers do not thing, objects do not think. Our ship carries some of the most advances weapons and systems in Starfleet. We are the most recently built ship as well. We have triple backups if needed. and a fine crew who can figure anything. I've thrown alot out on the table. I want everyones imput. We have 2 options men, we can fight in the shawdows, or take it to the open tables and advise Starfleet of the attacks."

"go to Yellow Alert. Mr. Drake, your in charge of Tactical Intelligence. I want you to lead in making me a weapon. I think we shall use bio warfare to bring these high headed aliens to their senses."

"He is reliable. He has also enabled us to track the aliens as they left The outpost. They have left one of their own on Frontier. And Frontier foolishly lent them one of their own. My fear is he will be turned around to spy on Starfleet upon return."

"I don't expect them. We have little need to leave recorded traces of our operations. The Na'jat will not be our first missions though. I intend to patrol around and look at the situations. Beginning with SS Avalon. I must say a concern on my mind is an alliance in the Frontier Outpost. My operative tells me the alien species brings an enemy to the Federation which threatens that sector. If we can find nothing else i think we will investigate."

"Aggreed. Preaching of peace and committing crimes are far different. Who will punish the powerful? They forbid us to dig. And so we will dig. Find out everything. They can try to stop us. But the minute they kill a man they lose."

"Indeed. It is to my conclusion that when they link with us the link is dual. Which means their may be feedback which can effect. They underestimate our abilitys i think. Which is to our advantage. Failure to realize, I expected this. The minute i read of their mind abilities. Their are things they will not find"

Reed leans back in his chair.

"Is their any way to intercept and stop them from being sent Lt.? Luckily they will find nothing of the FSS. Nothing we do is recorded."

"How on earth were these people allowed to do this. I want to know everything about the Starfleet Officer who is with them."

"Nothing specific. I think all of the crew have reported so we can undock. One nice feature of this ship is that Helm is automatic by voice command. Because the FSS carries no side officers. Before we set out i have some things to say to everyone."
He rises and turns to the crew at their stations.
"This ship is your home now. We will come to know and use every part of it. This ship may well be the best hidden place in the galaxy. We will be moving almost all the time and under cloak for just as long. No one besides those on this ship knows where it will be at any one time. You are here because you have chosen to serve the Federation, Starfleet, and Earth. Things will be asked of you that may come at great costs. Know this, you will be rewarded well for your work here. Though our missions will never come before the eyes of Starfleet Command, the men and women who come on this ship after you will know of its first crew. Also know that betrayal will be given its punishment. There will be no court marshalls or appeals. Justice is swift. However i am confident in all of you. Some of you i know have experience in this field. Others i have worked with before. Some this shall be the first."
He sits again.
"Computer, lay in a course for Avalon Station and engage at warp 6"

Reed smiles at the 2 officers
"It'll serve its purpose. It may be small. But its teeth can chew. And still be able to maintain cover from the eyes we'd rather avoid. Our first mission will test the ability of the ship and crew. The officers on this ship will mean alot. However Colonel, i am going to call a meeting of all crew to see what needs our..attention the most. Their are many issues in Starfleet."

"You and Major Drake are in charge of the defense."

He turns the CO chair and sits in it.

"Computer plot a course for SS Avalon and engage."

Reed sat back in the co chair.

"I'm not fully up to date on that affair. I am aware it effected Avalon Station badly. Would a cloak be able to hide us against it?"

"Agreed. Lets go to open space and keep a low profile. I want to avoid contact. These aliens must have a range where we get to far from them"

"We won't be needing to go inside Lieutenant. Its a point to start. We are able to track these aliens to their homeworld. Using our improved sensors we can stay well out of their range and gather data on their location and operations and assess how to handle whats next. The ultimate goal is to ensure the official alliance is stalemated."

"Hm, I think it would be difficult even for us. I think we stand more safer not provoking it. And for new ship and crew. It may proove to intense to begin with. Their are other races who monitor its actions, and stand better to do it."
