Captain, After this is over, I need to speak with you.

As for the Cardassians, We have given them to token of trust before. I wasn't in the Dominion War, so I don't have alot of expirience with them.

Mr. Ktaf did you start that investigation yet regarding the sudden deaths of a few officers?  Maybe Dr. Keilah can help when he examines the bodies.  You can find him in sickbay.

*Vontak Nors weapons was activated and ready when the unknowned ships came to do one last attack on the Evolution. 2 torpedoes hitted one ship so it was forced to turn back, phasers took care about the other ships.*

Sanchaz, this is Rugal. I belive that the danger is over for now. the station is working good now and need just a little finishing as my engineers take care of. Thank you Captain, for everything! I would be honored if you left a representative aboard our station untill further notices.

Okay people, now we've helped out the Cardassians, it's time to resume course.

Helm: resume course, warp 1.5 and engage.
Science & Operations: Keep a close eye on all sensor logs and let me know anything you can find.
Tactical/Security: when there's any sign of danger, I want to know it.  Shields up at all times.

"We are at peace with the Cardassians now, we should give them a token of trust.  If people over there die, because we have hesitated, they might condemn us for it.  I agree on safety precautions, keep the shields at maximum and be prepared for anything, but I'm not abandoning this rescue mission.
Hail the Cardassians!"

Captain Sanchez sits on the bridge, while the other officers are working busily.  Suddenly, one of the consoles starts to beep in alarm, and Sanchez checks what is going on...  then he widens his eyes and contacts the away team on the station right away.

"USS Evolution to away team, USS Evolution to away team!  I got an unidentified ship coming this way, I can't make out what it is exactly, but they're on an intercept course and fast!"

Thank you, Mr. 2e1fzi.  However I'm curious... if the Founders disease got Tain, is there any possible risk for anyone else on the crew?

Work that out with the doctor, please.  And permission granted to work together with him in this investigation, as well as modify the shield frequency.  We can't be careful enough!

Good work, Mr. 2e1fzi.

*the captain touches his combadge*

=^= Sanchez to Dr. Keilah =^=
Yes please revive Mr. Hollows and see if he can remember anything.  Mr. 2e1fzi is on his way to you to interrogate him, and we'll see from there.

Helm, set course to the asteroid field and get us in there.  Luckily the Evolution is not a giant ship!"

"I Sir" Says Lt. 2e1fzi and walks to the turbo lift and exits the bridge to go and interigate Steve Hollows.

On his way down, to the medical department, he started to think, what did just happen just before he arrived on board.

Lt. Hollows said something about the Evolution before I arrived, perhaps it is in danger, it is unusual for a sub space rift just to form, especially that close to a moving vessel.

Welcome, Mr. 2e1fzi. Your station is over here.  Please check the whole topic to get up to date with our mission, and I need someone to start an investigation on the people that died in short notice not long ago.
By the way, you have an unusual name, what species are you?

Captain, I must varn you. The cardassians are knowned for this kind of tricks. And Fleet Admiral rugal has a bad rumor among my people. He has a ruthless tactic in combat, I think it is called "Bino Gator" or something on Earth. He sends out a badly damaged ship to check where the enemy is, when ther enemy, in this case, we, sees the ship, they closing in on it. But, the ship is not alone, there is about 3-6 Galor or Keldons lying (OFF: I know that it might be a misspell) and waiting. When the enemy ship comes... *He hit his right first in his left palm*

You do not need to belive me Captain, but I want you to be aware of it. I don´t trust Rugal, and I never will. I have, bad experience of the man.

Alissa Marou has a valid point, i will agree that the only way to make peace is to perhaps make the first steps.  However may it be rememberd that they had no intentions of peace and have been hostile each time a Fleet Vesel has come across them, not to mention the continual war between them and the Borg.

As much as i feel and would sincerely like to see peace between us .. im afraid im sceptic in this instant.  Let us hope Alissa Marou optomism pays off :)

Sanchez: An unusual exhaust, meaning there is something else out there?  Well, we don't know yet what's out there then but we can start with talking to those we know that are out there.  Hail the Cardassians!

*At that moment, a distress call comes in*

"This is Fleet Admiral Rugal of the Cardassian union. We need your a**istance NOW! We have almost no ship left, our crews morale is almost at the bottom, we need your help Captain Ramius! I don´t care about the past right now! We can talk behind a forcefield if you prefer me to be in the brig! BUT JUST HELP US!!!"

Sanchez: Captain Ramius? He isn't the captain of this ship any more... why do they think he is?  Nevertheless, shields at maximum, load torpedo tubes and phaser banks... and set course to intercept!  All hands, battle stations.  I repeat, all hands, battle stations!  And send a message to them to tell them we're on our way to assist!"

So if there's any danger out there, near those Fluidic Gates, I think we should go see for ourselves.  Someone has to be the first, and if there is truly danger, we can warn Starfleet to map this as dangerous zone."

Sir, I strongly recommend against it, it could bring further damage to the Evolution.

Recommend that we diperse a sub space field around the ship, decreasing the overall weight of the Evolution less, making it more manueverable.

This will give us a better chance of firing, and disabling the enemy ship.

Nocturnus to Evolution (Guldokut).

Lt.  After extensive checking of hte records and databases onboard this ship and "other" federation systems (by the computer of course), we've found that those rays have a direct relationship to surprisingly a transporter beam. Specifcaly that of our friends the Loxians.  That would explain how they beamed your captain and other prime key crew off your ship.

Hope this information was helpful Lt.

Sir, going from subspace scan records, It appears that there was something deposited in space, that can penetrate the shields at the frequency they are running at now, the computer says that there is an 85% match with the founders disease that Tain caught, can I have your permission to work along side the good doctor to have a further report for you.

This way, when lieutenent Hollows gaines consciousness, I will be there to interigate him sir.

And I recommend that we change the shield frequency to 44667.7 for optimal defence against further infection

I will be beaming back my away team now, Mr. Rugal, and we will be getting on our way.  If you want, I will leave my first officer Mr. Schmidt on your station as representative, for a while.

First thing, my god, your Latin is off.  Vescere bracis meis.  Who told you to put ablative or dative case? What sort of imperative is that?

Next.  I might remind you that you have stepped way over the line of diplomacy.  Are you saying that the Cardassians were right in firing on aship, unprovoked.  Plus, the Cardassians are infinitely more likely to lie than the Romulans.  You should recuse yourself from this case, lieutenant, because you obviously have no control over your feelings!  I suggest that you keep your mouth shut before you jeopardize Starfleet/Romulan relations.   And also, if the Romulans weren't known for there honesty (which I never heard of), it is because of all their other accomplishments.  Cardassians.  Just the fact that we are still living doesn't excuse the Cardassians from behaving as they did.  And before you presume to talk so preposterously, make sure you have all the facts.  I don't remember seeing you on the bridge of the Warbird IRV Devoras when the Cardassian scum fired for no reason.  Remember, Cardassians are also not known for their intelligence.

We need to get the crew back...Communications: Hail Admiral Rugal.
+Evolution to Admiral Rugal+
We need to plan a rescue for our crew. I have an idea. Our ship is small, we hide it between your vessels warp bubble. Then as you engage the Loxians, We go to maximum impulse to to Loxian Warp bubble. You continue your attack, not causing alot of damage, then leave. They will be off their gaurd and we beam the crew back when they drop their shields and go to warp back to Vontak Nor! Sounds like a plan eh?

OFF: the idea is now that when the USS Evolution departs the Dark Passage to return to Avalon, it finds by coincidence the USS Lhasa and Shadow-walker on the borders of the Dark Passage (see mission in the forum "Dark Passage" on the Expansion Sector board).  There, Vorak has just been affected by the deadly virus that infects admirals on Avalon (though not yet publicly known) and the USS Evolution will pick Vorak up to bring him to the station's sickbay asap, while the USS Lhasa remains behind to continue its mission.

"We already have three important people, so if they escape for now, it's not a problem.  They will soon return for their captain anyway and not until they have him back, they will go to their own space.  So by capturing their officers, we chained them here.  For now, just open fire and bring as much damage as possible to their ship, weaken them as much as you can!"
And the Loxians open full fire again...

I know that this ship isn't a war vessel, but we can't leave them hanging here waiting until their enemy comes back for the final deadly strike. If the Cardassian government found out we didn't do anything to help them, they would make us look like cowards.
But I mainly want to help them with repairs on their ship, so they themselves are ready for another attack also, and if that enemy comes back, we won't be alone at least to fight them off.
Sometimes, being a Starfleet officers means taking risks."

Loxians are on their bridge, studying sensor readouts, watching their viewscreen.  Their special equipment and technology makes them able to penetrate with their sensors through a whole field of asteroids.
A panel beeps, indicating there is a presence.

Loxian: "Sir, sir!  One vessel, its passing through the Dark Passage!"

Loxian Captain: "Do they know we're here?"

Loxian: "It seems not, they dont have technology to scan this asteroid field, so they cant know we're here!"

Captain, it appears to be Cardassian warp-signatures in the dp. And some of them are really old too, the oldest as I have found are about 3 months old.

But there are not only Cardassian war signatures. there is a unknowned type of waro-signature there too. I don´t know where they are from.

As I told you captain, cardassian and an unknowned type of warp signatures, the shortrange sensors are not usefull here, and the long range sensors are also damped, but we can still you them.

Wait captain, I detekting weapons that have been fired not so long ago. One signature is the cardassians, the other is, as the warp signature, unknowned. Logic states that it is the same weapons signature as the warp signature.

I continuing to report as things accures.

Captain to all crewmembers.

For all those who are new on board, welcome and I hope you'll feel all at home soon.  We also have an ambassador of the Romulan Fleet on board, namely Ambassador Shadow.  The ambassador will accompagny us in this new mission.  We are to set out to a region in space called "Dark Passage" (find it on the map here: http://startrek.rpg.free.fr/images/mapexpansion.jpg ).
The Dark Passage is located between an asteroid field and quantum singularity network.  None of both, and neither the Dark Passage itself, has yet been explored.  We are to seek out new life, and new civilizations, and as they say, to boldly go where nobody has gone before.

My orders:
- Helm: warp 4 to the dark passage.
- Science officers: focus your attention on all long-range data coming in on the area we're heading to.
- Tactical: start a recalibration on the weapon systems, so they're aligned and optimized, we never know what we can expect there
- Operation Officers will assist the others where necessary
- Engineers will work together with the science officers to see if there are any boundaries in the Dark Passage what concerns flying at warp speed, because of the quantum singuarity network nearby.
- Medical officers & diplomats: keep the crew's moral at an optimum level!

*slides in his chair and looks at the screen, and then says...*

"Engage!"

He left the bridge and stepped into the turbolift, ordering it to the deck of sickbay, and minutes later he walks into sickbay, seeing Lt. Hollows repeating those words over and over again in panic.

"He seems to be in some sort of shock and he can't get out of it, am I right, doctor?"

Then, he bends over to Lt. Hollows to speak to him.  He realized that Hollows probably didnt realize what was going on so just talking into him wouldnt help.  He would try something that would be familiar to the lieutenant, acting as if they were all on the bridge as usual.

"This is the captain.  Report."

Lt. Hollows repeated the same sentence over and over again still...

"Lieutenant, report!  What is the immediate danger??"

Sir i thought youd want to know i did some scans fo the supposed cardassian ship and there seems to me that there engines appear cardassian, but there is something odd about how it perfoms and the exhaust that suggests there is something else over there, that isnt quite cardassian technology,  I cant get any more details from here, but i though you should be aware.

The Evolution's control panels start to beep on the bridge.  Something unusual is being registered by the scanners...

"What is going on?"

Sanchez looks at the viewscreen and sees something coming out of the asteroid field they are passing by.  It seems as if one asteroid is kicked out of its place and heads right toward the Evolution... at full speed...  And when it comes closer, it no longer looks like an asteroid, but...

"That's some sort of ship!  Shields up, red alert!"

"Where is the captain?  I'd like to talk to him," Johnathan said to a youn Lt.

Admiral! A federation starship has just entered sensor range!

*The admiral, who was looking whery old at the moment, walked to the sensor station.*

Name, class, Commanding officer, armament?

*The officer checked some figures*

It is the Nova class vessel USS Evolution, NCC-14320, under command of a Marco Ramius.

Are you sure? *The admiral asked quickly. He had been dealing with that man before, but if his memory still functioned, Ramius commanded a Akira. But that of course, it was more then 8 years ago.*

Yes admiral, shall I hail them?

No, not yet, let us see what they are up to first...

As the lieutenant says this there is another explosion, this time on the bridge, at the science station, lieutenant Hollows is thrown across the bridge, badly injured, and knocked unconscious.

As this is happening, outside the ship, the rift is getting bigger, exerting more of a force on the USS Evolution, while the enemy ship seems to be intact, and not affected by the rift.

Loxian ships appear all around the USS Evolution, surrounding the ship from every possible direction.  Apparently, the Loxian ships had been hiding behind the larger asteroids, and are masters in the asteroid field.  They all lock their targets on the USS Evolution's shield emitters and fire.
The Evolution shudders under impact and looses shields quickly... the ship tries to outmaneuver but cant do much in an asteroid field nor does it have any direction to go to...
and then the shields are down...

The Loxians send a message to the Evolution: "Prepare to be boarded!"
And then, well armed Loxians materialize on all different decks on the Evolution...

To make everything easier, I will copy the posts made on that forum, relevant to this topic.

Sanchez: Good, bring us out of warp and hail the station.

Operations officer: Hailing frequencies open, captain.

Sanchez: This is an urgent transmission.  I am captain Sanchez of the USS Evolution, and I currently have admiral Vorak on board.  He appears to be suffering from a disease or virus or something and is seriously ill.  We are on our way at maximum warp, please be ready to have the admiral beamed over in sickbay as soon as we drop out of warp.

On the Evolution's bridge:
Suddenly, a few Loxians appear on different places on the bridge, and all aim their weapons before the starfleet officers can do the same.  Then one Loxian nodds approvingly at the other, and points out the person at the operations station.
"Take her," he says, and he himself grabs the captain by the arm.
Seconds later, captain Sanchez and lieutenant Alissa Marou disappear from the bridge, to materialize on a Loxian ship.

In sickbay:
Two Loxians appear in sickbay, aiming their weapons at everything that moves.  Both close in to Dr. Keilah quickly, nodd at each other with approvement, then grab his arms and all beam back to the Loxian ship.

Before anyone has time to react, the Loxian ship that has taken the three hostages, takes off and departs deeper into the asteroid field.  But the other Loxian ships remain surrounding the starfleet ship to make sure it's not going anywhere......

OFF: since this mission has dragged on long enough, I will speed things up a bit here now.

The USS Evolution crew said their farewells to Admiral Rugal, and the Evolution set course back to station Avalon.
The voyage through the Dark Passage to its borders proceeded quietly, without any other incidents with Loxians or other species, until the ship reaches the outer borders of the Dark Passage...

Helm: Sir, I'm picking up something.

Sanchez: What is it?

Helm: A few small ships, not far from here.

Sanchez: What kind of ships?

Helm: They all seem to be Federation starships, though some of unknown type... But one of them is from our fleet... the USS Lhasa!

Sanchez:  the USS Lhasa?  That's a ship of the Academy! What's it doing here?  Helm, slow down to one quarter impulse, and hail them!

OFF: at this point, the communication between the USS Lhasa and USS Evolution will be posted in the forum "Dark Passage" in the Expansion Sector board.

Meanwhile, in sickbay...

Flag Admiral Vorak realizes he has been materialized in another sickbay.

"From one sickbay to the other... most unusual..."

Then, he suddenly starts running in circles around sickbay like a wildman, unable to be stopped by any of the medical personel, until he suddenly stops right before Dr. Keilah, and his face looks normal again.

"Doctor... I believe I am seriously ill... I must be taken to Avalon... others may have this virus too... I must... I..."

Suddenly, he begins to look weird and starts stuttering... and suddenly he no longer looks like a typical Vulcan.

"I... I don't wanna die, doctor," he says as he almost begins to cry, "I'm so... so afraid...  I have been afraid to die all my life... I never admitted it to myself... I never allowed myself to know... I'm so afraid!!!"

He looks around, at the other patients in sickbay, and sees Ms. Marou, who is closest and whom Dr. Keilah was treating most recently from another deadly disease of the Loxians.

"Is she... going to die too?  Like I will die?  Will we all die?  Doctor, don't let her die! Don't let me die!! Please doctor, do something!"

Dont bother Gul, I've already tried. I think that Captains infected......his reasoning is infected.

Hello,
Well, the Warbird IRV Devoras (my previous ship) had gone near there once, and we were caught in some sort of skirmish with some unidentified species.  It appears to me that there are aliens with suffiecint technology enough to classify them as a threat, if we were not allies. they dod not seem too keen on that, however.

That message could be a trick.  I must confess that I do not believe it to be, but, just to entertain caution...

"Is this unknown species around there right now, or have they retreated for the moment?  We will assist you with repairs where necessary, and if we could exchange information about this species, we will see what we can do to help and to find out why they are so aggressive."

"Welcome to the bridge, lieutenant.
Well we're still crossing the Dark Passage, and some of my bridge officers are busy with internal cases.
Could you scan the area and see if there's anything unusual?"

OFF: check the website in starfleet section > database > stellar cartography for a map of the location of the Dark Passage :)

*looks at the admiral*
Well admiral, the last time I saw you ,you were definetly in a better condition.

Please lay down on that bio-bed and I will run some scans on your body.

*sees that the admiral goes to the bio bed and the doctor activates a securityfield around the admiral*

Sorry admiral, but I have to do this. My tricorder picked up some strange readings in your body and I want to examine it better.
Let's hope this virus isn't flooding around in sickbay...then I also have it...

*He suddenly thinks about Miss Marou, but then realizes that she already was protected by a force field and could not be infected if this was virus was flying around*

Well Admiral, I'll let you sleep for now so you can't hurt yourself anyway...

*A gas was released between the forcefields and the Admiral went quietly*

So now I can start my scans...

"If you wish, I'll drop by sickbay to have the doctor examine me completely.   By the way, how is Ms. Marou doing?  I hope the doctor can cure her!"
