"Personally, I think maximum warp is in order, but that's just me. Accelerating to warp four."

"The surface of the planet is the only place safe enough for Techerakh to discontinue his shield-enhancing efforts."

Thirty quiet minutes passed on the bridge before the ship finally exited the quantum net. Durandal looked visibly relieved.

"I hope we never need to go in there again."

"Well, this didn't take long. Captain, I'm detecting a distinct psionic signature approximately 3.2 AU from our current location. A large solid-core planet, primarily molten surface, but containing small, discernable continents. To our luck, it seems to be repelling the effects of the quantum filaments enough to allow a landing party to remain on the planet for a short time."

Durandal's hologram turned to the captain. "Regulation requires thrusters only while in spacedock, Captain," he said with a smirk.

The ship pierced through the edge of the network, and was immediately met with stiff resistance, immediately beginning to vibrate slightly, even through the immensely enhanced shields.

"Interesting. Considering the General was the leader of the resistance, I was under the impression she would play a major role in the new government. Am I wrong in that assumption?"

(OOC: Where the hell is everyone?)

Durandal felt the ship around him, felt his connection through the computer core and the bioneural circuitry. He was amazed by the speed at which he could communicate with the rest of the ship. He felt larger, faster, more alive.

"Yes, the Intrepid-class starship includes second-generation bio-neural circuitry in the form of gelpack nodules."

"About time!" Durandal exclaimed in anticipation.

The ship dropped to impulse, made a sharp turn to starboard, and leapt back into warp speed.

"True, but by major role, I meant as a leader. Possibly even the head of the new government. Of course, it is a choice only she can make."

Durandal shimmered into view, standing on his small holopedestal. "Welcome to the Evolution, Captain. She is an Intrepid-class, fifteen decks, maximum warp velocity of factor 9.975, stocked with all of the latest exploratory equipment, a stellar cartography lab, as well as vastly improved defensive systems. The shields are capable of more than three times the deflective power, as well as phaser arrays with a 150% increase in output potential. This ship is stocked with sixty-four photon torpedoes, divisible between two dual-tube forward and one dual-tube rear launcher."
