Elspeth punched in the course and the warp speed into the console.

"Course layed in, Captain," she reported, "Engaging. Now."

And with just one more punch into the console, the Evolution warped into space on it's destination.

off: The last msg i read about the eta to the Fluidic gate was 2 hour  to get there. What is the status now?

Mr lagos .. as you may not be aware of .. Species 8472 is not affected by any chemical or biologicla Agent known to Starfleet ro the rest of the Qudrant.  The only weapon found useful against them was what Janeway used and there is nothing much in the way of Data for it since it was agreed to not be used again.

But the thought however is an interesting 1.

*Another shot from the loxian ship hits the Evolution*

"Forget the Hail! Return fire at once!  Full spread quantum torpedoes!  Load phaser banks! Try to disable their ship! How many are attacking us?"

Course laid in, sir. Ready to proceed.

"Thank you Mr. Lagos, for such a detailed report. It is good that you discovered this. You have my authorization to realign all necessary systems.
Seems like we've been without a chief engineer too long. I don't know exactly how long it's been since the last one was around."

Mr Lagos .. how much time do you need and do you need any help from other personal that could speed this up ?

"Keep scanners at maximum range and maximum sensitivity.  We must be ready to expect the unexpected. Hmm... ETA of 50 minutes, that gives me the time to go and check at sickbay how far they are with their research. Commander Schmidt, you have the bridge."

*he walks into the turbolift and orders it to the deck of sickbay, where he arrives a few moments later*

"Dr. Chemia, Dr. Keilah. How are things going here? Anything new to report? All information we could get now might be very valuable as we are to meet them in less than an hour from now."

[Randall Sanchez]

"Battle stations!  All hands, battle stations!  Red alert!"

The Loxian ships move closer to the Evolution and open fire heavily.  The ship shudders and rocks, shaking all over and many computer panels exploding on the bridge, in engineering and many other sections.  The red alert claxons are blazing.  Sanchez is still in his captain's chair, holding tight onto it.

"Return fire at once!  Full spread quantum torpedoes!  Load phaser banks!"

But before the order can be carried out, the ship is taken under fire again and shakes heavily.  Sanchez falls from his chair, bumping his head against a panel that explodes in the attack.  He is thrown back by the force of the explosion and heavily falls on the ground, his face all over with blood.  He tries to open his eyes, and sees a blurry vision of the bridge, filled with smoke, and Zephram Lagos hurrying toward him.  He tries to speak with the last strengths he feels he has.

"It was... a mistake to... come here... but there is... no way... back... now...  Mr. Lagos... you have... the bridge... take care of my ship..."

And he closes his eyes and loses his consciousness.
