A 30 cm tall hologram of a man appeared on the top of the cylinder. "Ah, Thomas. I assume I am aboard the Evolution? However, I cannot sense the vessel. Have I not yet been tied into the ship's systems?"

[Spock]

AI.......that kind of Logic may get us all destroyed out there........and Everyone goes bad......Even a computer such as yourself........It doesnt matter how well your built or what your contruction is about......You can and may go bad in the future I would feel alot better and im sure the captain would to if there was a fail safe on you.........So if you get infected with a virus of some kind that messes up your judgement subroutines I can shut you off......to repair you........Its nothing personal Durendal......Im cheif of Engineering here on this ship and I need Every precaution taken care of as long as your on this ship.......so if you go and get broken I can fix you.......if you go bad I can shut you down........After all you will be controlling this whole ship..........And I dont think its wise to have a computer to have total access to the entire ship.....After all you could shut off enviromental systems and kill us all.......I am only looking out for everyone on this ship's Best interest's......Even yours......Surely you can understand this......

I am responsible for maintaining this ship........So sense your going to be part of this ship you need to be on a leash so to speak.......

Durendal do you comply of what I said ?.......or do I need to look into makeing sure your operating properly ?

and while your trying to figure out how to tell me what you did to slow your respond time.........Mind telling me how the repairs are going ? and is the medical bay completely repaired and stocked ?....As well as the armory?.......That armory needs to be resupplied ?...........and how is Nonir doing ? ever think about checking up on him like I asked you to do........

Or is your programming Faulty that you cant answer all those questions?

I have not checked up on Lieutenant Nonir because he is on Avalon Station. He is, therefore, not within my purview, but rather that of Hermes."

*...Keiths heart, after being treated with the defibulator, soon returns to its normal rate. The phaser wound stretching from the middle of his right lung to his liver continues to bleed. Keith has already lost two pints of his blood and he if starting to turn pale...*

Durandal Do a complete Diagnostic of the ship.....and yourself...

*then Spock heads down to the somewhat shambled Sickbay to see how nonir is doing*

*walks into sickbay a few minutes later*

hows he doing doctors ?

*Zayan takes the seat offered to her and sits down.*

Well I must say that it does look delicious.

*She leans over her plate to better smell the aromas of the meal.  Zayan then looks up with a sound of "Mmmmm...." on her lips.  Her eyes lock with his for a moment, then blushing slightly she looks away first.  Zayan begins eating to hide her surprise to find him stairing at her.  Even so she eats the food delicatly and some what seductively, for fun.*

This is rather good, you don't happen to spend any time around a kittchen do you?  Everything is cooked and prepaired well.  Not half done or burnt, like some self-cooked dinner dates that I have heard of.  But you said that this is Irish. What is an Irish and what is Ireland?  I have not heard of these words before.

She shifts slightly, resting her head on Hannah's shoulder. Mere seconds later, she was asleep.

OFF: But I did hear it. Durandal is omniscient, he knows everything that happens on the ship.

"Commander, you specifically told me to run diagnostics after I told you that my integration with the ship made it unnecessary. You also ordered me to run certain errands that would be, frankly, a waste of my unique abilities. Not to mention, your repair staff is on leave, when you could be utilizing them, or station crews."

Durandal's miniature hologram glares at him for a moment. "However, in the unfortunate event that you are in command of this vessel, I will take orders from you, Commander. Until then, I am your equal, not your subordinate."
