Title: Avalon Fortification Meeting
Post by: Hedford on August 14, 2005, 12:48:27 PM
*Montrell was walking in the corridor where Admiral Vorak's office was located. He was about to turn around the last corner as suddenly Commodore Hedford ran out a turbolift and stopped infront of him. Montrell was handed over a PADD with information about one of the Starfleet's Space Stations. Montrell nodded to the Commodore and after a small briefing Montrell continues to Admiral Vorak's office. Hedford immediately returned to OPS*

"I'm not sure. The encryption patterns were nothing like I've ever seen before. They looked almost Gallifreyan."

"Captain Taurik, reports have reached me that you and... captain Vurak, have acquired certain abilities that allowed you to create a reinforced beam that was effective in driving back the Na'jigat, at Deep Space 12. Could you tell us more of how, and where, you acquired this... power?"

*watches intently*

OFF: Thought it might've been directed at me, but never thought it was mean, kind of went by me, wouldn't doubt it though; especially with the rows i've had with people on another site...
Title: Avalon Fortification Meeting
Post by: Legudon on August 25, 2005, 12:15:20 PM
*Out of a dark corner, a humanoid shape appears out of nowhere, and Legudon steps into the light. He faces Taurik and Vurak.*
"I received your call. You would not have called me, if it were not important."
*Then he turns to Vorak.*
"But I already know why you have called for me. We meet again, admiral Vorak. I wish there was no need for our meeting, but it seems you do need our help."
*Without anyone inviting Legudon to it, he takes a chair and sits down.*
"The Na'jigat is more powerful now, than they have been for many centuries. Each target they attack, gives them additional fuel that strengthens them, more energy that makes them crave for even more. They have attacked some major areas in this area of the Delta Quadrant already... the Delta Alliance, the Loxians, Starphoenix Base, Deep Space 12. They now no longer care for small prizes any more, and leave small starbases or planets for what they are. I know their next target will be this very station. It is a major place of power and energy in this sector, for the size of the station, the people that reside on it, and the ships that visit it. But there is still some delay, the Na'jigat will not attack instantly. First, they are preparing and increasing their powers, before attacking. They want to make sure they will obtain victory, and the defense of Taurik and Vurak at Deep Space 12 was unforeseen."
*He glances at Taurik and Vurak, then back at Vorak.*
"Believe me, if these two captains had not come up with the element of surprise, the destruction at DS12 would be far worse... there would be no ships returning from it in one piece, and this station would already have been under attack too. You are unusually fortunate, admirals, to have the delay these two captains managed to give you. Believe me, we would not be sitting here having this conversation otherwise."
*He gets back up again.*
"The Na'jigat will not attack for at least another three weeks. You will need every moment of this time to prepare your defenses. When the time comes, I will return in force, and offer you our defense. But even with our help, and the help of Taurik and Vurak, it will not be enough. You need all the help you can get for this battle. It will be like nothing you have ever seen before in your history. But if the Na'jigat succeeds in destroying this station, Starfleet HQ in the Alpha Quadrant will be next. Do you have any more questions?"
*He looks around.*
"Anyone?"
Title: Avalon Fortification Meeting

*Vorak and the other admirals enter his office.*
"Please, have a seat."
*Vorak offers the admirals a seat around his desk, and sits down himself.*
"Very well, I am receiving disturbing reports about the Na'jigat planning to attack Avalon Station. I have already read some of the reports about the destruction of Deep Space 12, giving me enough reason to assume this threat is more serious than many of us may think. I need to know all the information you can share, so we can attempt to anticipate their next move, and when this move will take place."

*Montrell touched the panel outside Admiral Vorak's office and a chime could be heared inside the room. Montrell then hears Admiral Vorak's voice and he enters. He immediately sees several Admirals sitting in the room and he quickly turns to Admiral Vorak, who makes him clear with gestures to sit down.*

"I acquired my psionic abilities through intensive training with the Gallifreyan master, Legudon. However, to preserve the safety of the Gallifreyans, I cannot reveal the location of their homeworld. Such information could easily be read by the Na'jigat."

"If we are to stand a chance against the Na'jigat, we will have to come up with some kind of defense and fortificaton system indeed, admiral Rellek."
*Then he looks at Taurik.*
"Do you believe the Gallifreyans will come to our aid? And if so, at what cost?
Title: Avalon Fortification Meeting

(OFF: Don't worry, Lucas. When I said that last post, I was talking to Vorak. If it was directed to you, I can see how it might sound kinda mean.

"On the contrary, Captain, my leaving the station is not necessary. I can initiate a telepathic link with the Gallifreyans from here."

Taurik closes his eyes for mere moments, then returns his gaze to the Flag Admiral.

"They are on their way."

*Vorak inclines his head in respect.*
"Thank you for your kind offer, and I gladly accept it. However, I still do have a question. How would you suggest we spend our time... preparing, and fortifying this station?"

**Turns to Will**

What records were we able to salvage from DS12 before its destruction?
Title: Avalon Fortification Meeting
Post by: Will Karelia on August 13, 2005, 04:05:34 AM
(OFF: You're already in the room.)

Will stands and goes to the large wall screen in Vorak's office, and opens a log file of the last moments of the battle.

"As you can see here, the Evolution and Rivendell were able to drive off the Na'jigat with specialized phaser beams."

The screen shows phaser beams lancing from the two ships, causing the cloud to flinch away from the impacts. Rather than the customary bright orange, however, the beams were an intense white.

"Now, we have reason to believe this is due to two of our officers, Captains Taurik and Vurak Spock. It seems both of them have recieved considerable training in the art of psionic warfare from the Gallifreyans. If I understood the fleet comunicatios correctly, the captains focused their energies through the phaser assemblies, magnifying their power with the help of the phaser emitters."

"If only it were that easy. After I realized the gifts Captain Taurik has, I did a little checking up on him. It seems he was AWOL from the Rivendell for a few weeks, and when he returned, he suddenly had all these abilities. I tried to access his shuttle logs to see where he went, but he's somehow encrypted them. Even I was denied access."

*Sisko sounded the chime on the door to Vorak's office, and then entered.*

Sorry for the interuption of the meeting.  We discovered some new data from our sensor readings on the Grace.  We were being attacked by Najitat ships which were fooling our sensors into thinking that there ships were Romulan.  I dont know how, we lost alot of datat from being attacked.  They apparently have stolen cloaking technology, because they were cloaked.  I would imagine they used tri-cobalt on Starbase 12 to make us think it was Romulans.  After re-annalyzing the data collected from Starbase 12, it looks like a Najitat detonator with tri-cobalt.  We are trying to recover more data, but dont know if its possible.  I will be on the Grace overseeing repairs and refitting ops if I am needed.  again sorry for the interruption.

(OFF: The Na'jigat don't use weapons. They are clouds of psionic energy, and attack only by draining ships of energy. However, they can make themselves appear as something else, like a Romulan fleet.)
Title: Avalon Fortification Meeting
Post by: Taurik on August 19, 2005, 04:03:24 PM
"Well, Admiral, the Na'jigat are a hostile life force composed purely of psionic energy. They are constantly searching for new forms of energy to sustain themselves. They can read the mind of any unprotected individual, and can alter the perceptions of those same individuals to make themnselves appear as anything they wish. They also can unleash a deadly attack similar to lightning, as they did to the U.S.S. Righteous, however, that is a very rare occurance."

**Turns to Admiral Vorak**

How can we fortify our station from creatures who don't use convential weapons. Most of this seems to exceed our perception.

**Turns to Taurik**

Captain, did you have any ideas for defending SS Avalon from the Na'jigat?

"There is one problem, though. We have no means to contact them, if we cannot locate them. Despite the detailed records we have of previous encounters with the Gallifreyan, none have given us any information regarding planets they live on, starbases or certain areas of space they occupy. That will make finding and contacting them extremely difficult, in this immense universe."
Title: Avalon Fortification Meeting
Post by: Vurak Spock on August 24, 2005, 02:12:30 AM
Well. Gentlemen. One of us could remain to stall for time or one of us could depart to seek further assistance on the Galifreyans. I will speak to my teacher. Lefronas as well about the situation and see also. Perhaps those who are here now can help us........ Oh. Excuse me gentlemen, I did not mean to rudely enter your conversation. I am terribly sorry for my lateness. That is highly inexcusable. I was very drained from my last encounter with the N'ygat.

(Vurak still looking a little fatiqued quickly rushes into the room from the call from the intercom. Vurak was logically not happy about being late for this very important meeting especially involved all the great powers that be. :). He now appears in his new ambassadorial uniforms all spified up and ready for duty. :).)
Title: Avalon Fortification Meeting
Post by: Legudon on August 25, 2005, 12:43:48 PM
"There is little you can do to 'fortify' your station, admiral. The only weapon truly effective against the Na'jigat is... Well, classified. Taurik and Vurak know, and they also know that a Gallifreyan law has once stated to forbid the usage of this substance, because it is unstable and can do even more harm than the Na'jigat would. There are, however, a few alternatives that may help you out. The Na'jigat is not capable of travelling at high speed, that is their weakness. They cannot travel faster than light. Therefore, anything related to warp speed can make it a little more difficult for them. Gather warp particles, which are emmitted by your starships while travelling at warp speed, and use these particles in your shielding and station's structural integrity. I am aware that this is not easy to do, but if your scientists and engineers work together, it may be possible. Another suggestion is, what you call a 'soliton wave', a subspace wave of energy that does not diminish and obtains warp speeds... This could be used to drive back the Na'jigat, and though it will not damage them, it may cause the Na'jigat cloud to disperse and become separate clouds that are therefore less powerful and don't have the ability to communicate with one another. If you can keep them separate during the battle, then we of the Order of Gallifrey will have better chances of driving them back. Those are the only options I can offer you."
*Then he regards Vorak.*
"Send your ships to the destroyed Deep Space 12 station, as you had already planned, and gather what remains they can find there. It can be used to mix with warp particles to create shielding and an effective structural integrity. That is all the advice I can offer you, admiral. I must return now, but we will meet again at the right time, we will return before the battle begins."
*Legudon disappears.*

OFF: Sorry for not posting sooner.

"Gallifreyan, indeed. I have read much about previous encounters with these species, and they are most... unusual. Yet, they appear to be the only species powerful enough to somehow keep the Na'jigat at bay. Also, it appears that this... beam... used by the U.S.S. Rivendell and Evolution, was not triggered by pure technology. Technology alone may not be able to produce this kind of power beam, as it has proven ineffective each time against the Na'jigat before. We may need to approach Mr. Vurak and Mr. Taurik personally, about their abilities. Maybe they can also offer some advice on how to increase defenses for Avalon Station against the Na'jigat."

Understood, Admiral Vorak. Logically speaking,  I will inform Captain Sanchez of what's needed immediately. I will keep you well informed of any findings. Thank you gentlemen. I bid you good evening.

He turns to address Captain Taurik before he leaves:
Strange times that we meet in these circumstances as logically equals. How fair these times. I know we will be working with each other in more urgent times. Captain Taurik.

(Vurak stands up and heads over to the doorway speaking to Tauirik then eventually board the  U.S.S. Evolution and to seek Captain Sanchez and his teacher Lefronas and a rendez vous visit to a certain Dr. Ftima on medical bay. :))

Off: Where is Captain Sanechez currently. Is he on the ship or some other place on Avalon Station?

"Very well, I believe the message is clear. We have no time to waste. Captain Taurik, take the U.S.S. Rivendell back to the location of DS12. Extend the same orders to captain Sanchez for the U.S.S. Evolution. Ambassador Vurak, please return to the Evolution to assist captain Sanchez in this task."
*Then he faces Karelia.*
"Admiral Karelia, I understand you wish to accompany the ships as well. Choose which of the two ships you wish to reside on for the duration of the voyage, and board it."
*Then he faces the other admirals.*
"Admiral Montrell, Rellek, everyone else... We need to start working on fortifying the station immediately. Contact our engineers and scientists immediately, there is no time to waste. We have three weeks to get everything done. Dismissed, everyone."

"Fascinating. Mr. Bailey, there is indeed a way to shield our thoughts from the Na'jigat. It requires a certain artefact, called the Maviduli Crystal, from what I have learned from reports, but they are all lost, and thus we have none available."
*He then turns to Taurik and Vurak.*
"You two are currently our best hope to hold back the Na'jigat. I would like you both to take the U.S.S. Rivendell and U.S.S. Evolution back to the location where Deep Space 12 was destroyed. Search the debris and search for any traces you may find to helpful information, particularly regarding the Na'jigat."
