Descriptions of Security Positions
Security XO
The job of the Security XO is to assist the CO with any matters relating to the security of the base. You will be responsible for the security personnel under your command. To apply for this position you must be a Starfleet officer, meaning that you have attended the DSA. You must, preferably hold the rank of Lieutenant, Junior Grade but you may be accepted as an Ensign if you have a good Academy record.
Security Deputy (Officer)
The job of the Security Deputy (Officer) is to follow the orders of the Security CO and XO in maintaining a secure base. This position has opportunities to be promoted to 3IC (3rd in command). You must hold the rank of Ensign or above to apply for this position.
Security Deputy (NCO)
Lowest job in the Starfleet Security but by no means the least rewarding. The job of the Security Deputy (NCO) is to follow the orders of the Security CO and XO in maintaining a secure base. Unlike the Officer position, this position does not have opportunities to be promoted to 3IC (3rd in command). You must hold the rank of Petty Officer, 1st Class or above to apply for this position, however, if you do not currently hold that rank, you may take on a probationary apprenticeship in order to reach it.

Well Cadet Scotty finally got promoted to Ensign I am very happy for him. He has shown skill and intelligence all the time I have been training him. He deserves it. I offered him the position as my XO here at Starphoenix and he accepted. He is now serving under me and he seems to be pleased with his new office! I know that he will perform well.
