The Trial of HK47

The Queen, as well as the Talonian, Dralian, Nigillian, Droid, Nygean, and Naederian representatives are not yet here. Be patient, Mr. Spock, this trial will be concluded shortly enough.

(OFF: I know Tankalan is the Talonian rep, and I'm not sure if Kiatya has anyone to play her, but do we have anyone to play as the other reps?)

"Oh, Starfleet.  Oh, yes I have heard of Starfleet.  I just have not seen a Starfleet.  Oh, if this is a Starfleet then this is also a Starfleet?  Or is it Starfleet Vulcan?"

"Oh, we are already arguing what to do with the acused.  Oh, I think we should wait for the others to arrive before we begin the trial formally.  Oh, he does deserve a chance to explain such violent actions.  I do not think they were for the main purpose of peace."

[Pax]

"I would never do something horrible, if I were not inspired to do so by seeing others do horrible things. Taking away any cause for violence from the start, would prevent anything horrible to happen. When our children grow up never learning what a war is, they will never think of starting one."

*sees the High Queen enters and takes her seat*

The Evolution fares well your Majesty........I left my ship with our ops Officer who will probly leave my engineering bay a mess when we return to the Evolution............Could we get the hearing going ?.........Since you were busy before arriving........I been listening to your council debate and bid over the parts of HK47..........and I would much appreciate to get this going as soon as possible to further any more debates that the High Council seems to enjoy.........

I rather Preserve HK47s Unique abilities rather then destroy him because of a simple malfunction that can easily be fixed......and thats what we seem to be argueing over currently.................I been taking down everything the Council has said about destroying a sentient life such as HK47s..........

*gives a PADD to one of the court servents and tells him to take it to the DA high queen.........*

What they seem to argue about is all on that PADD for your veiwing......Personally I dont like what they said........They seem to want to kill a sentient life form........and its starfleet and DAs Job to preserve life.......in whatever shape.........size.........or Form it decides to take.........Am I right your majesty ?

Your majesty what Ambassador Pax says may be true.......I was built as defense not a ambassador droid......but I ask you not to heed what he says entirely.........I was built for a single purpose......and that was to protect you and to protect this council from outside threats for many years until I disappeared........

All I can tell you is ""Time Travelers known as fire knights......Captured me.........then they tried to access my programming and it killed many of them since I Dont think they were expecting security messures to go off......""

All I remember from the evolution is ""I was on board........Yes it is true I threatened to blow up the evolution........but there security guard seems to think I Would.............it was a malfunction was all and a slip of the tongue shall we say..............they threw me in the brig...........for some reason I experienced a dream state if thats possible while I Was recharging.............Then when we arrived back here at DA space something took hold and urged me to leave the Evolution without authorization...........this thing that was forcing me to go allowed me no movement.........it took hold of my programming and sent me to an astroid that was nearbye...............After I left from inside the astroid whatever hold that was on me left..........""

The astroid isnt a rock its really a ship that was left behind when I went on a uncontrolled killing frenzy......I could only watch as I killed those people on the revox oh so many years ago and the same thing happened on the astroid when I escaped.........

Pax says I should be dismantled or reprogramed because of what I have done..........That may be true.......but if you turn me into a diplomatic droid.......there is no chance I can protect Sanchez or any other innocent life that you send me to protect........

I have done diagnostics of myself.........and all I ask in your great wisdom is allow me to have ""Moral Subroutines"" installed and have my Maker do a maintenance check on me..........

If you decide to send me back as your ammbassador of the Delta alliance then allow spock to get my schematics so he has more knowledge of how to fix me if something else goes wrong..........

Im begging you to take mercy on me..........Even tho I have failed to do what you asked me to do.......which was to protect sanchez.......Which I seem to have failed to do...........and I whole heartedly apologize for disgracing the council in my actions..........

I ask as well not to destroy me because of a simple malfunction that can be easily corrected..........It would be destroying yourself...........Im sure you did something bad and the ppl around you didnt like it........Im pretty sure they wouldnt kill you because you did something bad...........and im asking you to leave me as a defense droid and install moral and ambassadorial subroutines but leave everything else the same...........Im useless if you turn me into an ambassadorial droid........its my not purpose............

Also your MAjesty..........the Evolution Captian known as Sanchez does the ambassadorial work.........I only protect him..........and I ask that you leave me as a defense droid for Sanchez..........but install a few subroutines and allow Spock to be my care taker so to speak.........Please your majesty take mercy on me........

*after he says what must be said without consequences to himself he leaves and heads over to his Starfleet friends*

"Yes, but I'm not surprised, I never thought it would ever actually come to that. Anyway, you won't have control over the more advanced gear, since a similar malfunction could be dangerous if you had access to them. If you'd like, I could take a look at your autonomy subroutines and see if there's anything strange in there."

Tash enters the council chamber, followed by several others. He moves toward his seat on the council and presses a small button.

"I have just summoned the Council. Please take a seat until the Queen and the other representatives arrive."

Mr Mentora HK47 shouldnt be just a tool to be used to upgrade your ships................I agree with Tash.........HK is a unique droid...........but to the people of the evolution I do believe hes more then just a droid.......hes a sentient being..........who should be helped instead of destroyed..............

What if you were in HK47s place........would you want to be destroyed just because of a simple malfunction ?....A malfunction that could easily be repaired or dealt with short of destroying yourself ?.........

I apologize Tash I spoke out of turn to defend HK47........Im sure you probly downloaded my statement.............the proceedings havent happened yet and I should hold my arguements until then.......

But think of what your going to be doing if you scrap a droid like this.......if it wasnt for HK.........The Evolution Would have been destroyed bye the Nijgat attack........on Dantor.......since thats why you sent him to Dantor in the first place isnt it.........Along with Guarding Sanchez..........?

Ill be quiet now.......Just think of what I said thats all I ask....................

"Ahh, greetings, everyone. And Mr. Avelox, the Vulcan is not applying his species for membership. Have you never heard of Starfleet? I thought everyone in the Delta Alliance had at least heard of them."

"You all are quite mistaken. Should the Council decree that the droid will be disassembled, I will do so myself, and use the parts to build a new droid. I am, after all, it's original builder."

He pauses for a moment.

"But let us save our judgements on the droid until the final vote. I believe the droid is perfectly fine as it is, and any problems were a product of a glitch in his behavior subroutines. I will repair them afterwards."

I agree with Tash.........You need to wait till you have all the information before decideing.............And I think HK47 is just fine the way he is............He just needs to have some new subroutines written into his programming and added.......I think HK47 as a sentient race should have the same respect then any race would have in a court room..........You should listen to the defense.

And also also think of something else besides dismanteling.........Besides we should be working to preserve a life instead of destroying it because it did something bad..........

For example.....What if? You pax what if you did something bad and you were in HK47s place.....you did something horrible............would you want to be destroyed because of such an act ?..........

No im sure you wouldnt...........Im sure you would seek help and then try and get help for yourself to try and fix what you did wrong.......I dont think it would be an enjoyable experience if you were destroyed because you did something bad right ?
