Engineering Conference on Stardate 56912 at SB185

This Conference was organised by the Engineering Staff of all Federation inhabitants in this region of space. During this meeting several interesting points were discussed, for example the newly improved subspace transporter. There were also thoughts for future improvements on the warp-engines and several future thoughts on the whole propulsion of our starships.

Subspace Transporter
Matter-energy teleportation system capable of transporting matter over several light-years, much further than possible with conventional transporter technology. A subspace transporter is capable of penetrating a starship's defensive shields. The process is dangerous, since in order to transport matter through subspace, it must be put in a very unstable state of quantum flux. The Federation had abandoned the idea because it found the technology unreliable. Though after several years of own research Dr Florian discovered reasons that gave other thoughts to the whole idea of subspace transporting.

Unluckily Dr Florian coulnd't make it to the convention. We were shown the concept of the idea and the other details, by one of his pupils. The whole concept looked good, it seemed that there was no error in his calculations. Though Dr Florian needs to test his findings and has to do this with the approval of the Federation Council. We await his end findings and the the final approval of the Federation Counsil. We will keep you informed

How about the idea of a hyper trans warp drive that would allow us to travel up to warp speeds of 13 or 14?

OFF: Yes it is, the only problem is the testing. Because, on who are you going to test ;), volunteers here? :P
