Interceptor Conference

Fisher raised a brow.

"As i said, it is not open for debate. I have served in the Expansion Fleet much longer than you Admiral Bailey and i have never seen anyone lose by new regulations being adopted. I'm sorry if it will damage your ego. But watching CO's treat building starships as if its a matter of how much bigger can we get over the others is not something Starfleet Engineering smiles upon. As you have heard countless times, before your Greywolf Division became part, the USS Excalibur was named largest ship in the fleet. And as you have also heard, it was not ment to be undone. We did not realize so many others would create their own classes. And now at the mention of the finale people become upset. Technology is not what is being regulated Admiral, only size. And as i said before. Building a vessel larger than the Interceptor is simply not practical. It would no longer be safe, and could not be called a starship. And as CO of Engineering i must mark the limits as such."

"Excuse me Admiral fisher. I was just wondering, how fast will the Interceptor be able to go with it being as big as it is?"

Madison walks to the bar area setting his gladd down and moving to Tucker.

"Increase security Commander, keep an eye open"

He walks back to the group.

"So, Admiral fisher, i havn't heard about the recreational facilities myself, i hope they are good." he smiled.

"The new regulation..". He shook his head slightly. "that will go through and will work out for the better, any hinderance that comes to this conference or station can talk with me, and then Mr. Fisher, Then James, Then Mr. Tucker. There will be no beating around the bush as far as it is concerned with Nova".
He then brightened up and continued thier conversation.
"It has been nice to discuss the Aztec again, and to have all of us together for the last time untill who knows when".

"We need to transport him to sickbay! I can't do anything here for him. Am I the only doctor on the station?!"

A room the size of ten forward, the main mess area was set up nicly with a buffet of food. Waiters with glasses of all kinds of alien drinks. Admiral Madison walked in with the first bit of guests.

"That is something I myself don't even know, so I would enjoy hearing it from Admiral Fisher as well. I know most of all the intentions for the ship, I could tell you. The weapons bypass the Excalibur slightly, but the best part of the Interceptor will be its inner facilities. The research, bridge, all such things are larger. Two deflector areas, 4 warp coils worth of power to move the thing, but I don't know if anyone can rightly say how fast the ship can move".

"Some 1,000 total. Can you imagine, to, there is currently no First Officer for the ship? We will have to find officers to offer it to, if offers do not come to us".

Hobson stood looking at the large monitor on the wall, hands behind his back. He spoke to Madison, who was nearby. "Have you seen Captain Brodie? He is very important to this. A shame to, that there is no XO for the ship while the conference is going on. We will really have to work to find one, James, Mr. Brodie will be overwhelmed on such a large ship without one".

"In all honesty mr. hobson, mr. fisher, I disagree with it on the principles of monopolism and science, in my 60 years at starfleet, i have seen countless admirals do such things, they said it was in the cause of honor and such, it wasn't so....., bear in mind thouch , that i have nothing against you both...it is merely principle..."
