Title: Mission 2: "The Dark Side"
Post by: Weasly Cook on August 13, 2007, 10:01:53 PM
Cook looked at his Captain. "Doing so would trap us within this dimension, and well... I do not know if that could be safe... I... I have a gut feel that this... that we should at least mine the entrance and to keep the mines from destroying us." He wanted to be cautious. "I rather keep a way home open for us..." He was almost thrown out of his chair from the last shake of the ship. "The anomaly is big enough to fit a Defiant class ship without harm... but it is still growing."

*raises eyebrow at swift* Still think i'm going to bite you lt?.  Your heading towards a station you have no idea about.  Yet no one believes it's a trip.  You've been given docking clearence out of thin air and your going to dock ... who's the dangerous one here? *grins* and shakes his head.    Welcome to the mirror universe, where nothing appears as it should be.

Commander Cook only raised an Eyebrow and turned to look at Swift.

"Lieutenant, maybe consider that the Admiral was born a female. This is the Mirror Universe and as such, it could have been that the Admiral was born this way." He didn't know who was right but he wanted to try and show Swift that it could be another way as well. He turned around and saluted the Admiral. "Commander Cook, Second in Command, as Captain Lollock had already mentioned." He had felt it prudent to leave Captain Smith in his quarters till he had deemed the situation to be... and now... he was already planning to retrieve the feline at the next opportunity.

**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan nodded in agreement with Ransom as he worked while listening to their conversation over internal sensors, since much of what he said was true.  Avalon was on a skeleton crew.  Even with Dolan working at his best, the station was only 67% combat effective, like Ransom said.  When shields were down, usually for Dolan's upgrades or for maintainance, someone would usually come by and do some damage.

Dolan made a note to try and create a secondary shield for the station to prevent that from happening, but calculated that it would require more power than the station could spare at the moment.  He needed some power conservation technology, a new power source or another current one, since he had pretty much maxed out the power systems now.  Unfortunately, replicators were a luxury that the station couldn't afford, since energy was extremely precious.  If it wasn't, more of the station would be intact and functional.  Dolan glanced up at the timer and realized his hour was up and cleaned up after puting everything away.

"Computer, save all changes to Dolan Weapons Lab and Testing Scenario Stage Gamma."  Dolan walked to his room, since his prototype transporter needed to be recharged.  After he set it on a place where it could recharge, he left his room and went to see Commander Cook.

Commander, I want you to oversee the installation. Keep me updated. Commander Teranis should be able to give you a hand. In the meantime, Julian, what is the current political situation over here?

**The shaking stopped**

Alright, Lieutenant Swift. You heard the Commander; begin to mine the entrance.

Ensign, scan the area.

Commander Teranis, damage report.

(OFF: Clark, you need to find normal space reletive to our last position :)  Just helping out lol)

"Oh don't worry about that Sir, I have torpedoes waiting in all tubes as well as the pulse phasers ready to fire. I also intend to pump the airlocks with air from out own ship to create a positive pressure environment. That way if they try to suck out the air there will be a good supply or if they try to fill it with some sort of gas it will be kept out by the positive pressure." Swift explained to the apparent admiral. "Also we already figured that the station doesn't pose much of a threat in terms of fire power. You're still the biggest threat here Admiral, no offence."

"That's a shame." Swift said honestly he would have loved to meet his evil clone (despite the fact he wouldn't be evil). It took him a second to recognise who had addressed him. "Admiral Julian? But you're... I mean to say... you're a... woman. Oh wait I get it! In the mirror universe Julian had a sex change. Hey that's cool with me, you know, it's the modern era. People can do that, more power too you I say. You know. It must have taken a lot of guts to go through with it, especially in the current climate of chaos and I'm babbling here... Sorry."

=^=Dolan! Give there weapon back now and report to the Dantor mines! They are our honoured guests and your not going to steal their defensive weapons just to study it for your own personal benefit. And dont tell me its for our own technology your too obsessive about weapons. First you come up to me and give me a report that you could have waited to give me and then you steal things from our guests. Your on guard duty for 2 weeks! give back the weapon now and head down to the planet. Julian out.=^=

I am really sorry about this.. Its been hard to control this lot. They are whats left of the original rebellion against the Alliance. We did win but with great consequences. Taurik is controlable if you know what to do. Leave him be and he will be fine.

Your security officer is very smart. I would have done the same thing in my position however he was a bit too fullon dont you think?

Cook only blinked. "They had a Rivendell here as well? Most interesting." He only shook his head. "Admiral... I hope you are just joking, because I do not plan on spending years here at all." He looked rather flustered at everything. "Besides... the information could be downloaded to a PADD and delivered here most likely... since as the second in command I should be present for first contact delegation duty... that of helping the Captain." he was treating this in a new contact manner, since they would be bringing back technology, mainly a rift generator... and that phaser rifle he still had, He wanted to see how it worked, he shook his head, if he was not careful he could over extent himself.

He tapped his commbadge. =A=Iroquois? Please download all information from the storage boxes of our guest and give me a PADD copy so I could go over them? Also, I would like a site to site transport of Captain Smith to my location, it is his mealtime and I will be unable to be back soon, and I do not think he should disrupt any ship functions.=A= he also knew that he would milk all the food he could get if he was left alone on the ship.

"But... the question is where are we going? I don't mean the location where in a sense, but a deminsional sense, where are we heading to?" Cook wondered. He silently began to get his sensors to scan and record every little detail that might be found once through, after all, star fleet would want to know about this world even if they never go back, knowledge is a key factor for the progress of the Federation.

<Peeping over the console as Cook comes in, Valen waited till he was at the console before he got up and went over to give Cook a huge bear hug.  He stopped hugging Cook before his eyes popped out then went back to the medical console>

"Oh of course." Valen said bringing up the molecular scans.

"The supposed Admiral here isnt very talkitive.  He came in here ordering me around like im some sort of lap dog.  Im going to blame that lapse in judgement to prolonged exposure to this universe.  Aside from that hes crazier then I am." he said with a uncontrollable giggle.

*looks around for the first time.. errr... is it just me.. or has it got worse?

"You know what," Swift said, then made a dusting motion with his hands, "I'm going for a drink, I have had enough of these hostilities. I'm brushing my hands of the whole situation. Commander do be carefully, they seem a volatile bunch. If they steal anything else let me know and I'll come back." Swift left the group and made his way down towards where the Celtic corner would be on his universes version of Avalon, vaguely wondering what Mirror Celtic Corner would be.

((OOC: Anyone want to give me a heads up what Mirror Celtic Corner will be like.))

Commander Cook only blinked as he saw readings on a console.

"Captain.... I am reading Temporal Readings... I think they got a time weapon.... I am trying to recalibrate shields to keep us safe from it." Cook's hands began to speed across the board at a human pace as he tried to keep the small ship safe.

"I am also more then ready to go home where I know who is who. Also, I have the generator set to destabilize the rift as soon as we get through... I am thinking that we might have a tool now that can be used to explore whole new areas of space." Cook was smiling as he thought of all the new places they could visit with this generator.

Commander Cook walked into the medical bay, and looked at the situation. Wearing now the red of command instead of the blue of Science.

He looked at the Captain and then the Admiral. He then walked over to Valen Starchaser. "Doctor... may I look at the medical report you have taken? I only want to see the Molecular scans only, seeing how that will prove if he is from our universe or our own. Please." He had missed the argueing and didn't seem to notice the tension that was going on at the moment.

**Mirror Dolan**

=/\= I didn't know anything about it either, though I suppose I might have made it...I don't remember anything though.  However, it seems to have been built in as a back up in case the holoimager was ever brought offline, to either stop that from happening.  I don't believe it could have been activated any other way.  =/\=

Dolan sent a message through the rift, reasoning that was where the Federation ship needed to get to.

=/\= Ensign Dolan of the New Terran Empire to any ships on the other side of the rift.  Do not send any vessels through the rift, the Iroquois will be through the rift shortly.  As soon as they are through, close the rift as fast as you can.  An experimental weapon is going to be tested and we don't know the full effects.  If any ships of yours come through, they will probably not come back.  I repeat, don't send any ships through the rift.  =/\=

Dolan started inputting all of the calculations into the weapon's computer and came up with a result for the temporal calculation if fired at the Lothlorien that was approaching the station, which would result in the removal of several of the approaching ships and several areas of the station being fully operational.  He powered up the weapon and prepared to fire once the Iroquois was through the rift.

(OOC:  There will be several different timelines that show up after the temporal weapon is fired, all ending in the temporal weapon being fired for the 'first time'.  It'll just be a little fun for me, so let's just get the Iroquois through and you all can criticize my 8th grade writing skills after! :D )

(To Iroquois crew:  Captain Bode and a couple other people want you to hurry up and get through the rift.  To be honest, you are going a bit slowly.  So please hurry up.  I don't care who does it, just get through.)

Cook nodded his head. "That was just barely being thought of... in fact, that was a theory that a fellow student submitted, amazing that he only got a barely passing for that research, and now..." he laughed. "Temporal mechanics was one of my favorite classes you could spend a week on ideas that could never be proven unless you got sent through time." He shook his head realizing he was digressing from the issue at hand.

"I am scanning for anything else, since we are closer to the anomoly..." His eyes went wide. "I think you are right," He turned to face the Captain. "Captain, I am reading some kind of energy beam coming from the other side of the anomaly, I am certain that Mr. Teranis' theory from the academy is correct, nothing else has so far matched so closely to what we see here." He was very, very worried. "I think this could be a problem... should we go through it? Since..." He looked back at the controls. "This... this is fasinating, we have a stable Temporal anomaly... totally and completely stable, we can go back and forth as much as we want. at the moment at least."

"Right, I kind of figured there wouldn't be a fire fight but I can honestly say I wasn't expecting this..." Swift said, he had been holding his rifle in a very militaristic style and now let it hang limply by his side. "So I guess the rebellion took care of the empire's death star, vader killed the emperor and now you have yourself a new republic." He added, not realising no one would get the star wars reference. "Any chance I get to meet the mirror me? That would be so awesome."
This thought activated his brain to a line of thinking that wasn't entirely pleasant. There were a number of possibilities here. Firstly that his alternate self wouldn't have been genetically enhanced and is sat somewhere on Earth with the intelligence of a two year old, secondly that he did have the genetic enhancements and people here know, thirdly he has the genetic enhancements and people here don't know, or the fourth case in which his opposite self is dead and people either do or don't know he was genetically advanced. Either way if they knew it didn't bode well for him, he could always lie and say he was different from his mirror self. However genetic enhancements were a serious crime and any captain would have a genetic test just to be sure.

"Don't take the statement of fact as arrogance Admiral," Swift said in remark to the Admirals remarks, "that station is not exactly top of the line."
Swift had a couple of members of security make a run to the armoury to pick up some phaser rifles, they came back in to the bridge a moment later with a small crate carried between to two of them. They opened the top of it to reveal to phaser rifles and handed one to him, as well as an extra normal phaser.
"Ma'am if we are going in I suggest I take point in case they shoot first and ask question later." Swift told Lollock, as far as he was concerned his captain wasn't going to die on his watch.

Commander Cook had remained silent during the trip so far. However he was shaken at seeing what would have been two enemies in his Universe, however, he realized that here.... it wouldn't be surprising if the Borg were even allies and not the most feared enemy around.

He was meeting now people that he would have to look up on what they really did, something that made it most unusual was he would get to meet the mirror counterparts firsts.

"Most amazing." He whispered to his Captain. "But it appears the Heraani and the Feilans are allies and good people here."

However when they entered the lift, he cleared his throat and looked at the Fleet Admiral. "May I have one more person beamed here? You see, I would think that a friend of mine would really enjoy seeing this station." He was also wondering if his Mirror Counterpart had something similar to Captain Smith.

**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan sighed and beamed one of his mining drones to Dantor's surface.  Admiral Julian was getting a little too comfortable.  Then the instrument monitoring the station's systems started beeping and Dolan checked it.  It said that Ransom had tried to deactivate internal sensors.  Dolan smiled, since his fail safe for the internal sensors worked.  That was one system that he would never allow off line.  It was far too valuable to the station and even more so to him.  He checked in to see what Ransom didn't want him to hear.  He frowned.  He usually allowed the intelligence officer some space, such as allowing Ransom access to internal sensors and not keeping tabs on the contents of his computer, since Dolan didn't need to or want to know all the contents of his work.  Dolan continued on his way, but changing his course to meet up with Ransom.  Not to confront him, since he was the intelligence officer and was suppose to know some things Dolan might not, but to see what else he knew.  The development of technology was Dolan's life - Dolan didn't really care who the technology affected or how.

"I'm sure the Mirror Me died in battle fighting a hundred thousand warriors... What? My rifle?" Swift asked the Mirror Dolan. "Yeah, that's not going to happen. I still haven't decided if this is a trap or not so I'm not giving up my weapon. Sure, I could probably kill you all without it, but it would take so much more effort." He joked, yet there was a serious edge to it, he didn't trust this Bizzaro universe at all. "However if this is real concern I can assure you it won't go off accidentally. Even if it did the thing is set to stun so it won't do any harm."

Commander Cook stood to the side of Captain Lollock, keeping cool on the outside, but inside he was making mental note of all the strange changes and differences between those that he recognized, mainly that Vorak was not the Head of Expansion fleet. He was however listening and was momentarily confused by the strange saying that Lt. Swift had just said.

He was also surprised at the treatment that they were receiving, he had never been treated like this before, it made him rather uncomfortable but he was also hiding it rather well.

hmm... I see Taurik still lays some blame on me for leaving.  I gather then no one knows.. what I've been doing all this time then?  If those rebels get any idea that a new ship is here.. you'd all be dead.   Your own intellegence efforts show the same thing.  THey want to get through the rift and claim a fully fuctional avalon.  I used to bei'ts security co.  I can tell you.. it was very impressive.   AI' diven.  Would make Dolan squirm with glee.  and might i point out that the engineer if he's a good engineer would have installed sensors in all parts of the station and be able to listen.

*Teranis looks at Cook then back at the Captain*

Aye Sir.

*he then starts presing buttons on his lcars screens pulling up different diagnostics of temperal fields and records of on how ships in the past have dealt with them. After not being able to find anything like this he figures anything this big would be classified anyway. He decides to change his methods and continue running his diagnostics. He then uses the main deflector to rerun the scans on the nebula as they get closer.*

It has to do something with the type of nebula its being made in.. *he mumbles to himself*

*he then remembered a theory he had been taught in advanced temperal mechanics class.*

Cook.. *he walks over to cooks station and transfer the data to his screen*

Look at this. This was a theory my class one thought of in advanced temperal mechanics class. You may not have heard of the class. Its new to the Alpha quardrant. Hasnt reached out here yet. But anyway. The theory was that all through space, there are temperal rifts. There are unstable and therefore we cannot see them in normal space. However when in subspace if you time it right, you can. Problem is, you go to close and boom your in another dimension and can get lost forever. You could go through a thousand of them and still not know whether its the original or not. The theory went though, is that if you knew the exact location of one, it may be possible to create a device to open a connection with another dimension and, using trace signitures, go back and forth whenever you needed. Its a big theory but perhaps someone is doing something similar here??

it will take Dolan the rest of the Day to get them back on-line, thats why I know what he is doing,
nope, No one knows what you have been doing, I have hear Rumors, Yes they want a fully Operational Station, the Last Time I Managed to Stop them at the Last minute by Using the Prototype Warp Core I had and Disabling then and by Chance there was a Starfleet Task Force at Avalon at the Time, and Avalon will not Survive an Frontal Attack, and I do Know Starfleet Reqs, my Computer which only I have Access to, a Ship was Destroyed from your Side it was called the U.S.S Essex-A they used a Prototype Warp Core it seems and the Computer Core and Some of the Ship traveled though the Rifted I got the Shell Hidden but its a Matter of Time before the Alliance Finds it, but I have figure maybe we can get the U.S.S Iroquois back but it will mean someone in a Small Ship and  the Person who dose it will be trapped on your Side.

Swift held on to his phaser rifle and sniffed the air as he walked in to the air lock, his nose would have smelt even the faintest trace of gas so it was a good sign he didn't smell any at all. He had had his phaser upright in a firring position but decided to lower it in to a more passive stance, he could bring it up at a moments notice but he didn't want to walk in there sticking it in the faces of random mirror officers. The door on the airlock opened and he walked out, the first one to step in the Mirror Avalon and as the acting chief security officer it was his risk to take. By now he wasn't really surprised that no one shot him when he stepped in the the station, however he was surprised at what he saw.

Lieutenant, i want to fire at the lead ship as soon as were in range. I have fears that the Lothlorian may not have much longer.

Cook, are we prepared to seal that rift behind us?

*at the same time Cook was searching the historical database, Teranis was doing the same however looking more into the small ships that were locking onto the Iroquois. He then studied the uniform the Mirror Lollock was wearing. Lt. Swift made his suggestion shorty before Teranis made a discovery*

Comm. I mean Captain. Sorry sir. The vessels that are near us are not of the same nature to the station. According to these records, these ships are Terran rebel alliance vessels. I looked up the uniform the 'Mirror Lollock' as ill call her for the time being, was wearing, and its a Terran Uniform. For all we know, there rebels may have the technology to block the stations long range sensors and they dont even know they are here. I think looking from a tactical point of view we should talk to the Mirror Lollock and inform her of the situation at hand. Looking at the situation we are in also, with these ships about to surround us, i think we should secure a way back to our dimensional universe. If the device emmiting that pulse to the rift is destroyed, then we may be in a lot of trouble.

*Teranis thinks he may have been out of line with his tactical suggestions since he is the engineer, but his years of experiance as a head tactical officer told him he had to say something*

**Mirror Avalon**

*they all stood silently waiting for something to happen when suddenly the airlock door opened. they prepared themselves. They watched as the first person walked out of the airlock. If their database was correct, by the uniform he was wearing, he was either a security or engineering officer. They all saw and the rifle he was holding so it was obvious he was security. He had a suprised look on his face though. Which is what they wanted.

Swift had walked out of the air lock, straight onto a red carpet. He saw 3 Terran Officers in the equivelant of a starfleet dress uniform. As well as a few Security officers just for precaution. Swift had walked into the best welcome the Terrans ever had to offer. Little did the crew of the Iroquois know, but Starfleet were considered heroes among the Terrans. They did after all spark the Terran rebellion against the Alliance. The crew were going to be treated like royalty while they were on the station.*

**Mirror Julian**
Welcome to the New Terran Empire Station Avalon.

*The voice came from the female officer with fleet admiral pips, taking the lead position against the others. She looked just like the female replica of Admiral Julian back in the Starfleet Universe. Standing next to her on her right was an exact lookalike of Captain Lollock however the hair colour was different and she had a distinct scar on her face that the Starfleet Captain did not have. To the left of Julian, was a vulcan. He looked exactly the same as Flag Admiral Vorak, the leader of the Expansion Fleet Project. However his pips did not describe the position of a Flag Admiral, this Vorak was only ranked as a commander. There were two other officers as well who also looked familiar. *

(OFF hope you like :P bit of a suprise?? this is gonna get funny very quickly)

"Yeah... did that guy just insinuate that the mirror me is dead?" Swift asked. "Because that's not, you know, possible. I'm sure the mirror me is just as awesome as I am, well maybe not quite as awesome. I mean sure, he is probably the most awesome guy in this universe but not mine. Alright seriously now, am I dead here?" He was a little concerned, he couldn't believe his alternate self was dead, that was just crazy talk. Him being dead in an alternate time line.

Cook laughed.

"No... he doesn't talk... but he has a very diverse vocal ranges... from purring to hisses to yowls and low mumbles." But he looked around... "But... I would like to meet and try and converse with some of the Felians... they sound very interesting as a culture."

He was hiding now that he can forged a small mental link with Captain Smith, something he planned on not furthering at all in the career in Starfleet.

"Although.... I have been tinkering with a translator... the problem is... I think felines communicate with sounds and body language... and, I have a hunch they they think in pictures... but I am not sure... could I maybe tinker a little with the Felians?" He was looking like maybe a pet project that he had been working on and off in his own quarters since being reinstated to Starfleet was a way to translate cat noises into something humans could understand.

"Yeah, so you might want to think about mixing that up a little bit. You know, think about changing your ideas. Normally I would let this go, prime directive, but we have fracked with your universe so much that I think a little more won't hurt." Swift told them truthfully.

((OOC: Yes he is starfleet, but the character is also his mothers son. He has this view of his mother as a captain who doesn't take and rubbish from anyone and will always fight for the rights and justices in the universe. Occasionally stepping across those with higher ranks and putting a foot across the line of the prime directive... Also he doesn't always go looking for fights. The Mirror people just annoy him as in his point of view they are the "what if" universe in which starfleet is bad. He can't stand that idea as to some extent he idealises the organization. Thus when he sees one with people willing to threaten officers, steal technology, and get slaves, it annoys him greatly. Trust me, I have fully thought out his motives.))

"An Academy instructor?" Swift asked with a raised eyebrow. "You want to thank anyone for my training thank the crew of the USS Farsight. The Captain, my mother, and her senior officers hand trained me for starfleet. I could take apart a phaser at six, knew the finer points of martial arts at ten, and had a keen tactical eye by twelve." He told Nocturnus.
Swift simultaneously set up his target. He would fire a full barrage of torpedoes and phasers as soon as they left the station, it wasn't normally wise to go in at full strength strait away as it takes time to prepare the proceeding shots. However he felt a more blitzkrieg approach would make the enemy stop and take notice, in a moments pause or trepidation they could get some distance to the rift. Either that or they might just consider the Iroquois too risky a target and simply concentrate fire on the station.

"I think we should seal the rift at all costs, but Commander Teranis makes a good point Ma'am. Can't fault his logic." Swift admitted, it was a sound plan. "However I would like to suggest we call the other Lollock 'Bizzaro Lollcok' instead of 'Mirror Lollock'."

"I apologise Captain, I was merely trying to do me job as acting chief of security... though I wasn't aware  Lieutenant Starchaser was now a member of security..." Swift said the last part annoyed. As far as he was concerned Starchaser was a bumbling fool, but more then that he was a doctor and not a member of Security/Tactical and as such he did not know how to treat a prisoner and possible new threat. He wondered briefly what Starchaser would consider to be doctor patient confidentiality, a bomb in the chest perhaps?

He turned back to the viewscreen of the I.K.S. Vengeance, the Vor'cha class cruiser he "liberated" from the Alliance shortly before their defeat eight years ago. "Cross me, will you, you bitch? That'll be the last mistake the great "Admiral" Julian ever made."

Commander Cook as soon as the channel was closed. He right away moved away from the small machine, having had it hooked up to the Deflector Dish. He moved quickly to the Bridge of the ship. He soon got onto the bridge and sat down in the captains chair.

"Ensign, open a channel to the Lothlorien, I want to  respond to them as soon as possible."

He soon got a nod of the head.

=A= This is Commander Cook of the Iroquois, we read you loud and clear, however, we have ten ships between us and the rift, please standby, we have some plans but I do not know if the ships know on how to break codes. I await your next transmission. =A=

He looked at the Ensign, "Be ready to start recalling officers in case we have to make a break for it, I also want shields and weapons ready, so that when we get past them, we might have a way of getting through the rift, or at least use our own generator to get home as well."

The Ensign only nodded his head and went to work on his orders.

**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan withered in pain as the neurogenic interface disengaged.  He grasped his head, gasping in pain.  He immediately knew the interface could no longer be used, since if a genetically enhanced human could barely survive being disengaged, a normal human would probably die.  He looked over the tactical situation, trying not to double over in pain.  He overrode the Admiral's weapon shutdown, bringing them back online, not knowing what could possibly have caused the Admiral to do that when enemies were only several hundred thousand kilometers from the station.  He managed to use his prototype transporter to get to his lab and knew it couldn't be used for a few days after it passed through so many level 10 forcefields.

Dolan laid down on a strange looking bed before saying, "Reimprint - *gasp* - brain patterns and - *gasp* - DNA codes - *gasp* - of Lt. Commander - *gasp* - Dolan!"  A dome-shaped metallic object came down from the top of the seat and covered most of Dolan's face and something that looked like the bioscanner in the Sickbay came out from the sides as he tried to surpress the pain.  They stopped moving when Dolan's body was completely covered.  Dolan laid there, not knowing if this experimental procedure would be able to help.  He forced himself to not move and closed his eyes to rest, not sure what will happen.

Dolan unknowingly deactivated the holoimager when he activated his improvised biobed.  A majority of the attacking rebel fleet began to turn away from the rift and head for the station, seeing an easy target.  Several protocols activated when the holoimager was deactivated, namely the activation of an ECH and the shuttling of most of the extra power to weapons and all other tactical systems such as shields.  However, some energy went into a system that couldn't be identified.

Soon after Dolan laid down on the biobed in his lab, the covering scanners parted and he woke up, extremely confused.  He didn't recognized many of the things in the room.  When he checked a panel, it said it was several years later than the date Dolan arrived at the Avalon Station, though he was sure he only arrived 3 days ago.  He was also surprised that the station was orbiting a M-class planet and that it was in an extremely derelict state.  One screen showed that it was under attack, but the room he was in didn't show any signs of being at red alert or shaking.  He tapped his comm badge.

=/\= Ensign Dolan to Admiral Julian, what is going on?  The time on the station seems to be off a few years, the station is in a terrible state and orbiting a class M planet.  Scans show an approaching fleet, apparently hostile.  I could have swore I was just at Sickbay too, getting a medical checkup, but I'm in some sort of science lab with strange instruments.  Do you have any explanation for this? =/\=

(OOC:  Mirror Dolan doesn't remember anything for the past few years since the last medical check up he had was when he first arrived at the station, for one reason or another.  He used those specs to reimprint on himself, since there weren't any more recent ones.  Consequencially, he doesn't remember anything from that check up onwards since his brain wave patterns since then haven't been updated.

Also, anyone up for a temporal incursion?  It could save the mirror station and maybe get the Iroquois home if someone gets temporal shielding on their ship.  Of course, no one would remember the incursion actually happening except for the Iroquois crew, but I don't think we'll be seeing the Mirror universe anytime soon, so maybe it'll work.)

Dolan didn't think correcting at the moment the Admiral was the greatest idea, especially when the internal sensors were suppose to be down and Dolan himself was supposed to be on the planet.  Ransom would probably notice if Dolan answered questions from across the station.  Only 18% of the station's energy actually went to the weapons, the remain 7% not going to the holographic imager was distibuted to life support and other primary and secondary systems.

Dolan still had to wish for more power sources for the station.  He couldn't try to improve the holoimager's efficiency, since that would require it to go down, possibly for hours or even days, exposing the station's true state to the alliance's contant patrols.  It was the only system Dolan avoided, but all other systems had been pushed to maximum efficiency.

Dolan began to wonder what else Ransom was going to say to Nocturnus and considered just going to them and finishing the conversation for them.

He felt that there must be some type of trick to this, something that was attached to this deal, it felt a little strange, but also, it might be because he was in the mirror Universe and nothing was what it seemed to be to him.

"As for the new technology... I would have to look over it and make sure it can be compatible with our systems.... safety procedure." He was making that up, just so he could have more time to fully understand the workings of that machine and gauge the type of power drain, and toll to the ship it would bring.

Lt. "Good day Admiral Julian.  The phaser arrays' upgrades have been completed.  I have begun to try out new phaser upgrades in one of the holosuites.  Thanks again for helping me with the phaser banks' upgrades.  It was such a small error, I would have missed it if you hadn't double checked.  The whole system would have overloaded and it would have taken weeks of repair to get things back online."  There was an unusual accent in his voice, somewhat foreign to the Starfleet officers.

Dolan then turned to the Starfleet officers next to the Admiral and said, "Good day to you, Starfleet officers.  I didn't expect you to arrive so soon."  He saluted them and then put his arm beside him.  He nodded in acknowledgement to Srg. Major Brown and Lt. Commander Ransom.

Dolan watched the Starfleet officers interestingly and eyed one of there officer's phaser rifles.  He was interested in the R&D of weapons and defenses in the Starfleet officers' universe and wondered what advances they might have made since the last time they were around.  He was hoping to enhance the station's defenses and weaponary further.

*Julian thought Swift had been talking about some starfleet vessels that had seen better days*

uhh ok? Well you see the reason we have a run down station is because 75% of our power is going into a sophisticated holographic imager that confuses ship sensors that the station is in a complete battle ready phase. This is why the Alliance have not tried to attack us as of yet. They know of the device but they dont know what weaponry is real on the station and what is not real. If we converted our power back into the station we would have a pretty good one. Problem is the war has not left us with the best of weaponry. When we took this station from the alliance they detroyed most of its defences so the could regroup and make a counter attack. We connected the device to make it look like we fixed the problem. but only 25% of the weaponry you see is actually operational. We could easily take out a few cruisers but the remainder of their fleet, should they wish to attack us at once, could take us down.

*5 felian slaves dressed in cheif outfits, brought out a huge buffet for the Terran and Starfleet officer. To show a good will of faith, Julian started eating first to show the food was not contaminated.*

Let us eat!

Anyway lets get down to business.

*everyone had finished their meals and the Felians had removed all the food and plates from the table.*

As i think i have told you, you are free to come and go on the station as you wish. I think though it may be a good idea to call upon Mr Nocturnus and get him to set up that little device of yours on the ship. Now that the Alliance knows your here they will most likely plan an all out attack on this station. If so you may want to make a hastey retreit.

*as an instant reaction to the ship being pulled in, Teranis launched a distress beacon heading straight for Station Avalon. It contained the latest report of what they had discovered so far and what was about to happen*

*after the shaking stopped*

Reading no damage across the ship. Everything seems fine. However...

*he pauses*

The Evolution and Rivendell.. They are gone!

*thinks for a second*

Wait are we through the temperal rift? are we on the other side?

Scans of the station say the crew compliment has only about 2/3rds of its original capacity. Its also at full power. and WOW its weaponry.. its double the capacity of our station. however no turret or mine defence around the planet like us. Very Strange.

hmm recieving a hail from the station sir what shall i do?

(OFF: kk the fun begins :D :D :D mirror Julian will be on the other side of that hail. wait no who was my xo again.. *reads mission planning*)

Commander Cook had been working at his console, going through the historical data banks and trying to find out all he could from the encounters of the Mirror Universe, but so far... he had been finding a lot of information, he finally turned around and looked at Captain Lollock.

"First contact with the Mirror Universe was made by Captain James T. Kirk, Captain of the USS Enterprise. The next encounter I was able to discover was that of Benjamen Sisko and other command staff of Deep Space Station 9 went no less then four times into the Mirror Universe, showing then that some of them had at least a small capibility of moving into our Universe, however mostly they have been rebels of the Terrian or another Empire, seeking help from  our side of the Universe, I can only imagine what might happen if anyone with military thoughts or dreams would do if they got ahold of the technology of breaking into our universe." He looked a little ill, "I am sorry if this is not enough... but it is what I could have brought up in the limited amount of time we have."

(OOC:  Much of this next post is going to be an overview of what happened so far, since Dolan is trying to figure out why so much happened so quickly.  You could skip the first paragraph to save yourself some time)

IC:
**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan looked through some files as he waited for Admiral Julian's answer.  He found out that the bed he was just on was designed to reimprint DNA coding and brain wave patterns and quickly figured out that he must have reimprinted the data from the medical check up he had several years ago, though to him it seemed like an hour ago.  Dolan couldn't find a more recent medical file and concluded the imprinting machine couldn't either or else it would have used that file.  He also discovered that the station had been moved to Dantor a couple years ago and that during the move it was badly damaged by rebel forces.  He noticed the approaching fleet were also rebel forces and deduced they were here to finish the job.  He also saw there was a Federation vessel, a ship from another dimension, getting ready to leave the station, which was understandable since it was about to be destroyed.

Dolan also saw that there was a strange power leak on the station.  He took several minutes to decode what it was going to using unconventional methods to figure it out and discovered the power was heading for a temporal incursion weapon, designed to remove things from the space-time continuum, essentially making them so they never existed.  Some power also went to a calculator of some sort that calculated the effects of the temporal incursion.
Deciding this was too important to wait, he opened a comm channel to Admiral Julian.

=/\= Ensign - I mean, uhh...whatever, Dolan to Admiral Julian.  For some reason, some power is going to a temporal incursion weapon along with a calculator to compute the effects of a temporal incursion.  I don't recognize who made it, though I do recognize some of the methods used to recreate it.  I used several of them back on Earth.  Anyway, I believe it can be used to remove the enemy fleet from history, so they never existed.  From the history I uncovered about most of the ships in the rebel fleet, they all played an important part in the Rebellion's war against the New Terran Empire and throughout their history only have caused ill for the Empire.  Their removal from history could restore the station to its former glory.  If temporal shielding could be established on the Federation ship, they could leave the station unaffected by the changes to the timeline.  However, the station cannot be shielded from the temporal incursion weapon for the sake for the restoration of the station.  *The station starts to shake as shields in several areas of the station started to fail*  I suggest you decide quickly.  I'm making my way to the weapon now to input the calculations and to prepare to fire the weapon.  =/\=

Dolan left the room and headed for the location of the weapon.  He reached it quickly and waited for the Admiral's response.

"Raising shields." Swift informed them, he didn't like being around so many ships without having shields raised. "Ma'am, I would like permission to fire a spread of torpedoes behind us. If we use the largest yield we have, we could momentarily blind thier sensors as we leave the area so they won't know which direction we went in. I doubt I can do any actual serious damage, but I may be able to give them something to think about before we leave." He was concentrating on what was at hand, as far as he was concerned some voice from ops could wait until they were out of immediate danger.

"I apologise for the familiar tone I used admiral." Swift said to Nocturnus. "But it seemed the only way to gauge if you were who you say you are, of course I still don't fully believe it and I'll be assigning two security guards. Standard procedure. I hope you understand Sir." He said then turned to Captain Lollock. "Ma'am, with yourself and the rest of the senior staff down here there are few if any officers on the bridge. I believe that the Admiral is telling the truth but should still be watched, may I return to my place on the bridge and fire a few torpedoes at the pursuing rebels? As I said before, a high yield torpedo configured to fire in front of them may have a small chance of blinding thier sensors temporarily."

How about you, yes you, the security guy in the back, any ideas? No? No? Anyone? Just try an answer, you might get it right. No? Well here's a reason, not sure if it's a good one though, might not be. Oh, you'll kick yourself when you find out the answer though. It's pretty fracking obvious." He said with a  rather pleasant manner. "How about, and bare with me here, because of basic rights for sentient beings? How about that?" He asked, he hated slavery. "What am I thinking? Basic rights for sentient beings? What sort of honest, good, nice, and down right pleasant people would use that as a reason. I must be speaking gibberish." He said using a delicate and subtle sarcasm that would be easy for some to miss. "Basic civil rights and liberties, our universe sure is crazy right? Maybe we should evil things up a notch?"

He decided to let it go, he liked Lollock and didn't want to push the subject because of it. He was however still weary of these Mirror versions of people. Considering that the Panda has made a come back from the verge of extinction due to major efforts on the world level during the early 21st century. I am impressed." His voice showed that he was really impressed and happy at the idea that he was not all about weapons and blowing things up as he thought he would have rant on about.

He was however confused.  He looked at taurik. "No longer a Captain? Did you advance in a rank?"

"No can do, prime directive says we can't artificially advance alien cultures. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that covers alternate realities as well." Swift said with a smile, he wasn't sure if alternate realities were covered by the Prime Directive but he wasn't going to hand over his weapon. He wasn't stupid. "Also, genetic enhancements? You know in our universe that's been illegal since a little guy named Kahn went crazy and started trying to take over the world. Regardless I think I could beat you as easily as I could that Taurik guy. Strength doesn't win a battle, skill does." Because of Dolan's admittance of his genetic enhancements he had just become the second biggest threat on this base. The one he would have to neutralise after Taurik if things went sour.

Commander Cook looked around, he seemed a little nervous, after all, as XO, he was responsible for the well being of the crew, and this seemed likely to get out of hand.

He cleared his throat. "I actually, concur, the doctor needs his room... this is not a Galaxy class sickbay... we are on a defiant class starship and it is getting a little cramped. We can move this discussion to the conference room... but we do need to make sure that he doesn't have anything that might cause us problems." He could see the view points on both sides.

"I also think that we should give the Admiral some room as well, after all, here he is on a fellow Star Fleet ship, and we are treating him like we were paranoid kids of the dark." He then tugged on his tunic and looked around, his eyes showing concern and worry... having just used his first real act as the XO of the ship. He was hoping he did it correctly.

"I highly doubt you could defeat me, unless you are genetically enhanced also, in which case I believe we would be evenly matched," Dolan said with a small smile, "In any case, I would still like to look at your weapon sometime before you leave, as it is foreign and could aid us in future battles.  Or perhaps I might be able to enhance it a little if it isn't up to date with our standards?  Increase its power efficiency and keeping the power cell running longer?  Maybe a little stronger phaser blast for that extra punch?  I might even be able to increase the firing rate by 10% and still do the same amount of damage it currently does."

Dolan was slightly put out by not getting to examine the weapon sooner, but hoped to see it before the Starfleet officers left.  If not...well, he could always try out that new sensor he designed.  Hopefully he could just tempt Swift to hand it over for about 15 minutes.  Dolan was offering quite a bit to a foreigner.  He hoped Swift might offer something in return.

Mirror Richerd

At that moment, a Marine walked into the station meeting room, he had a variance of a Rifle on his back and he had a scar underneath his eye. He went up to the Admiral.

"I have the daily mining reports Ma'am. As well as am wondering why you sent your science officer to the planet again." He sounded like he wanted to be doing other things, but he had come up with the last shipment for the shift and had felt to deliver it himself, so he could see the Starfleet officers himself, around his band was a piece of equipment similar to what the Jem Hedar used to pilot their ships, however his seemed to be geared to a biological reading as he looked at each starfleet officer.

"I am General William Richerd of the Terran Marine Corp. I must thank you for  your help in giving my men the edge in weapons to help defeat our enemies." He didn't comment on Swift since he felt that they already knew.

However he looked at the Klingon Captain. "Q'Pla Captain." He pounded his fist to his heart before standing at attention, most likely taking on the duty of a bodyguard now.

((That was suppose to be hello in Klingon, don't know how to spell it, sorry.))

"Ma'am after Kirk and Sisko I really don't think you can hold on to any idea of non interference." Swift said, he fired out the pulse phasers to take out a torpedo that was heading right for them. He disagreed but he followed orders. "I mean Sisko started a rebellion, that's hardly keeping out of peoples affairs. They also managed to build a replica of a defiant class ship. Seriously the damage is done."

Commander Cook was making six different back ups of the scans that were coming into the ships computer banks. "On it Ma'am." he turned to face the Captain as well. "I must side with Swift Sir, We need to survive and if..." The ship shook under Mirror ship phaser banks. "Well... we need to do more then have our shields up... but..." He turned around and smiled.

"Captain, we are approaching the rift..." The ship shuddered a little before internal dampeners took over, "We are approaching the eye of the vortex... thirty seconds before entry."

Commander Cook only nodded his head when he stood up, just as the information and cat was beamed into his lap. He right away sat down and observed the new comer, looking a lot like his old friend from Security. He only shook his head and began to do mental calculations on if the project would work... he guessed it would take another hour, and while he looked he unwrapped his napkin that he had saved food, healthy for a feline and gave a little of it to Captain Smith as a treat. He figured the reason why it took so long to get him the stuff was to clear it with the person in charge of the transporter grid of the station. However he fell into his element faster with a purring cat in his lap. He was happy to be able to look at technology that they would be bringing home with them, this would cause whole new fronts in exploration to open up to them, and he was looking forward to that.

(OOC:  My question is why didn't you?  I've been checking everyday, waiting for the Iroquois to get home.  I want to have a little creative writing time with the alternate timelines.  I just want someone's opinion on what the ending timeline should be.  A small to no rebel presence in the Delta Quadrant or a potential threat?  And would it be alright if I got everyone back onto the station/ships (that includes the people that 'died' and the rebel Karelia?  So if Swift or any other of the mirror Iroquois crew comes through to the mirror universe some other time, they gets to meet a mirror of themselves.  Just so that we have more room for change, I'll avoid specifying a person's rank/position in the final timeline.  It wouldn't really matter in the other ones since they would have never happened in the first place.)

Not everyone in starfleet sits around and drinks tea while doing embroidery, we are not all happy go lucky new age space hippies. I like blowing stuff up and don't care what happens to the pandas.... no that's not true. pandas are cool. Right? I still remember there was that TV show that had kung fu pandas, right, and they went around, you know, doing martial arts. That was cool. A panda was the main plot device in Anchorman, very funny film with a great plot device I have to say. Oh in Mexico they call gummy bear Panditas, that's just awesome. You know, panditas. Can't loose pandas, not with something called Panditas in the world. Seriously, how great is that word? Then there is the whole panpan thing in Homestar Runner. Though I have to say that I think the most notable contribution to civilisation pandas have made has to be Andy Panda, a little known cartoon that feature the first appearance of woody woodpecker, we owe them for that. So yeah, we need pandas, if purely for comical and cute reasons."

OOC:  Nocturnus, that doesn't make sense...if the station is destroyed, Mirror Dolan would die anyway since he obviously wouldn't be able to get out in time.

IC:
**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan found Lollock's command inputs distasteful and locked all of the consoles on the entire station to prevent further disturbances by the station's crew.  However, he had it locked in such a way that it would seem they are continuing to use the console, but their inputs wouldn't actually do anything.

Dolan continued to monitor the weapons fire the rebel fleet was pouring into the rift and wondered how the Lothlorien could possibly be holding up.  He also prepared to open the shuttlebay doors to allow the Iroquois to leave.  He thought the Starfleet personnel were being a little overprotective with their Prime Directive, but since the odds of them getting out of this dimension alive were relatively slim, he didn't really think about it too much.

"Yes ma'am." Swift said to Lollock and kept scanning the area, of course he found the fact that they were looking at a Mirror Avalon quite interesting but he figured that wasn't what Lollock meant. "Erm... ma'am... I have discovered something. Bizzaro Avalon is woefully armed and pretty run down when compared to our Avalon, we could probably take that thing out. Granted it would take excellent flying, marksmanship, and some really clever tactics. But in a pinch we could fight our way out of it or through it relatively easily."

**Mirror Dolan**

"I had hoped to get it willingly from Mr.Swift here, but if you insist Taurik!" Dolan said, taking the rifle from Taurik.  "Just give me 15 minutes, and I'll get it back to you better than it is now, I assure you."  He took one of his instruments from his belt and hit several buttons.  He transported to his work room just as Swift lunged at him.

At his work room, Dolan ran a few diagnostics and several scans with instruments of his own creation.  In a matter of seconds, he had an extremely detailed blueprint of the phaser rifle, and several hard copies being made and tranferred to safe spots that only Dolan knew of.  He decided that with Taurik treating Swift more harshly than other people, he decided to make several modifications to improve it.  He was always good at improving things, even if he had just had it for 5 minutes.  He spent the remaining 10 minutes of his time increasing the power efficiency, decreasing its reload time, and the rifle's accuracy.  When he was done, he took out his prototype portable transporter that he 'adapted' from alien technology and transported just down the corridor of where he left, so Swift wouldn't be killing him once he rematerialized.

Dolan walked down the corridor and tossed Swift his rifle, as he said, "I do like to keep my promises, I say 15 minutes and here I am.  I just made a few simple modifications to your rifle, it now has a faster reload time, increased power efficency, and increased accuracy.  And I also put a damping field on it, just so you don't kill me with it.  You can test it out in your own universe."

Dolan was prepared if Swift decided to do something that endangered anyone's life.  Though maybe not right away if he decided to go after Taurik...Dolan never really approved of him, except when it was to his advantage.  Which, Dolan was reluctant to admit, was somewhat often.  Dolan also suspected Swift of also having genetic enhancements since he seemed a little to confident of his abilities, especially of overpowering Taurik, Brown and himself.  He touched a few buttons on another one of his 'adapted' instruments, this one scanning Swift's DNA.  He kept his suspicions to himself, since if Swift did go on a rampage, Dolan designed most of the stations systems himself and knew what to do to stop anyone from doing any damage.

Commander Cook was looking around the ops of the station. He had missed the communication between Swift and the captain but he was going to have to approach a topic now.

"Admiral.... how do you feel about.... pets?" He felt that if a party was held, he would not hear the end of it for at least three star dates from Captain Smith, so he would have to try and tread through this, not knowing that the Mirror universe version of him had a Klingon pet, being a military man more and had kept it as a personal body guard, and pet.

But Commander Cook didn't know that at all. So he was trying to find out the policy before causing damage to the friendship between the two universes.... he was already thinking that with some of the technology here could help their war against the Borg or something.

He could see that maybe the Mirror Universe had finally gotten past their wars and conflicts and maybe now move more into the Utopian society of peace. But he still was careful to make sure to not offend anyone as well.... this should be treated in a diplomatic way if anything.

When you have finished off the alliance are you going to go out in to the galaxy and subjugate a few more species in to your slavery population?" Swift asked perfectly pleasantly. In the same tone of voice he would use if he was asking the man what he was planning to do for dinner. "Maybe you could go see the Orions?"

"How do you know that isn't the bizzaro version sir?" Swift asked Commander Teranis. "This could be some sort of trap. El Aurians are generally nice in our universe, they could be totally evil in the mirror universe. They could be trying to smuggler an operative on board, it's what I would do in thier position."

**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan felt Swift was overreacting a little.  It was just a simple sharing of technology, but Swift obviously didn't see it that way.  Dolan shrugged, and took out one of the hard copies that were made and handed it over to Swift and said, "Here, I didn't have time to make any extra copies.  The sensors I use don't have memory banks, since I usually get to hold on to what I'm examining with them.  I really think you are overreacting.  And you're wrong about the station falling apart, I just pay more attention to the weapons and defense systems.  I have no clue how the repairs on the hull are going, since I don't really make it my business to know.  And you're incorrect - a mirror universe would be an opposite to another universe, which does not necessarily made it evil.  It all depends on point of view.

"However," Dolan whispered so softly that only someone with enhance hearing could hear, "I would definately agree with you that the Taurik of this universe is a little crazy.  He's been like that since many of the Gallifreyans went corrupt.  In any case, you just got a free upgrade to a phaser rifle that I can no longer look at and which enhancements you can no longer duplicate.  I don't see why you would just throw that all away."

Dolan said all of this while lightly touching some buttons on his instruments.  He beamed the phaser rifle using one of the station's still functioning transporters and beamed it to one of the armories on the Iroquois.  He decided that since Swift felt threatened, it was time to go, at least until he let the security officers back to the ship.

Dolan sighed and transported right outside of one of the holosuites.  "Computer, activate Dolan Weapons Lab and Testing scenario Stage Gamma," Dolan said after entering the holosuite.  He took out the plans for the new phaser upgrades, and began working on it, after he accessed internal sensors so Swift and his bodyguards could be watched.

"I'm glad I kept you alive long enough to fix the warp drive," Karelia said to his chief engineer. "It's a shame it took so long."

"I assure you, sir, it won't happen again," the officer said, gulping slightly.

Karelia grinned a little. "Oh, I am sure of that." He pulled out a Klingon d'ktagh knife, grabbed the engineer's shoulder, and plunged the knife into his bowels. "Oops," he whispered into the engineer's ear. "So sorry, mate. It won't happen again."

Karelia withdrew himself and the knife from the engineer, and pushed the fresh corpse over to the ground. A midshipman rushed to clean up the body, but Karelia stopped him. "Leave it for now. It will make an effective message. Now, since we are finally within visual range of Avalon, get me a weapons lock and a comm channel. Now."

Cook blinked. For a second he felt that he had just head Swift talk a little about communication, however when he went back to talking about destruction, he realized that Swift was just restating what he had just gotten done saying, as for the jump to the conclusion that Swift made, Cook realized that most likely anyone else would have made the same mistake.

"Swift, sometimes blowing things up is not the answer... sometimes it is better to be like the fox and sneak past your enemy then to attack them head on... we are a lone wolf in another pack's territory, as such... we must think outside of just going in with fangs and claws showing." He felt that using predators as an analogy would help Swift understand that it would be wise to maybe find an alternative solution then to fight there way through.... especially when one did not know the weapon capacity of one's foe.

Commander Cook upon hearing those words moved right away to the science station. "Thank you Captain... However, I hope you do not mind me changing my uniform at the moment." He turned to face the readings and began to study them. "This is most unusual. This... this is not a natural temporal anomaly... it's... it's artifical, even though most natural temporal anomalies even though they act completely different have certain things that they share... this one... it's too perfect." He turned around and looked at the Captain. "I am also detecting certain things that might point this to not only temporal, but one that... in laymen's terms, that is a gateway to another universe. I cannot get readings of what is behind it, but I can tell you, it is either for two reasons, exploration, or... Invasion."

"Interesting, telepathy as well? Nice. I guess these images were designed to frighten me. Might have worked on someone else, you know, someone who hasn't faced a telepath and come out on top before. So why don't you just let me know when you want to face me man to man instead of using little tricks." Swift said casually, he then began employing a mind blocking method. He began to run through mathematical equations in his head, this way his mind was full of noise. He had gotten the idea from Babylon Five. "Also please be kind enough to stay out of my mind, it is rude to poke inside a persons thoughts without asking. Don't you think? Might want to work on being respectable, just an idea mind. Doubt you could achieve it. Most people with powers tend to develop a god complex, like yourself, and as such think they are above others. People with special abilities are equal to everyone, might want to remember that before you become a Magneto wannabe or the next Khan." He added before following Julian and the two Lollocks. This Taurik guy made him not want to leave the captain alone with anyone from the Mirror-verse, they seemed a volatile bunch. He wondered what ever happened to the good old days when slinging insults never actually came down to violence.

"What can I say commander, I'm a fan of 21st century TV. Back then it was all about saving the pandas." Swift said to Commander Cook. "Wait you probably don't even know what TV is. You have to see Star Wars, and Stargate SG-1 is a brilliant series. Then of course there is Battlestar galactica and Heroes is worth a watch." He only just realise Julian said they could walk around the station freely. "Well I'm going to go explore, if that's alright with you Commander, captain." He said to Lollock and Cook, he was going to scope this place out in case they were attacked or had to do the attacking. He also had a vague idea about hacking in to a computer terminal to see if what these people were saying was true. That or he could go and hustle some latinum off whoever was in the bar, so many decisions to make...

Swift acted instantly, he took one of phasers off his belt and held it up. "What the frack? That is an act of aggression." He tapped his comm badge. "Swift to security teams, activate code five." Six members of security were beamed in to his current location. "Code six as well." His rilfe was beamed out in to space and replaced with a new one. "Now you just stole federation technology. I would like all that technology erased form your systems." He tapped his comm badge. "Swift to Iroquios load torpedo bays, get a lock on our signals, and prepare to fire." He let go of his comm badge. "We are currently inside your shield radius and I think a couple of torpedoes would put a nasty dent in your hull. We have scanned this station and we know it's falling apart, you couldn't defeat our ship with everything you have. So it really wasn't a good idea to try and incapacitate my weapon now was it? I knew the Mirror Universe would be evil... I mean look at this Taurik guy. Then there is that crazed Marine who I should have knocked out. Then Dolan who in this universe likes to steal technology from people who are supposed to be allies. Captain we should leave now and find our own way out. Let these guys get destroyed by the damn rebels for all I care."

**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan was alerted by the red alert and went back to his lab as fast as his genetically enhanced body would take him.  He noticed that the few long ranged sensors that were still in operation had picked up a couple dozen vessels that didn't have Empire signatures.  When he saw the I.K.S. Vengeance was one of the vessels, he let a whole slur of swear words spill from his mouth.

Dolan grabbed the prototype transporter and transported to the Ops Deck right next to the tactical station just as Taurik asked, "What the hell is going on here?"

"It's Karelia," answered Dolan as he hurriedly started the emergency power shift, which transfered power from all non-essential systems not including the holographic imager to weapons and shields.  Power from essential systems including life support were reduced to a bare minimum.  The few shuttles the station had were preparing to launch and defend the station.  Dolan also prepared to turn off the holographic imager in case its purpose of deception was completed and shuttle all the extra power to weapons and shields, which Dolan had made sure months ago that the systems could handle the extra power.

"Torpedoes ready to be fired, phaser banks fully charged, shields at maximum, shuttles ready to go," reported Dolan rapidly as he continued to monitor Karelia's fleet.

A station beeped and Dolan went over to it and said, "Admiral, Karelia's hailing us."

(OFF: ok guys heres where it gets interesting. Lollock your mirror your is the xo please read the desc of what the xo of the sation was gonna be like in my nice big post in mission planning :) ok in this universe the Iroquois was recently destroyed by an unknown force while protecting a freightor. (sound familiar?) the miror Iroquois was captain'd by Commander Weasly Cook, XO Teranis and third in charge Doctor Valen starchaser, who was also the helmsman. Mr Swift was head of tactical as well as engineering and Mr Clark the ops/communications officer. All presumed dead. so the communicae when lollock sees herself is going to be weird. once she has read her job desc she gonna be really freaked out. Oh. guess what. the station has nothing to do with the anomoly. the station cant even read the anomoly as its running at half capacity. the weapons scan teranis did are fakes to scare people away. The anomoly is actually being made by terran rebels. thtas right terrans. no marine in this universe. see we have things planned out big time!! :D the terrans are the miror universe version of our marines. much more strict and care about noone but themselves. the terran rebels plan was to sabatague our station sieze control and build up a force large enough to take on the terrans. plan failed i guess hey? now this little bit ive added in myself just now. hope ya like it cook :P ok  when you went through. which Teranis is about to tell you. on the other side of the rift are about 20 terran rebel ships. they arent big they arent strong but together could do alot of damage to the newly repaired Iroquois. It was the attack fleet about to head to our Avalon however you intercepted it. my suggestion is to beam the device thats creating the anomoly (its on the ship that wont have shield up cause a beam is coming from its deflector array :P hint hint) and close the rift and head to the mirror station for backups asap cause their gonna be mad. so far thats all ill tell yas cause thatl be a couple of days of posting if your all active enough :):) have fun guys!!!;)

Dolan rolled his eyes at Admiral Julian's enthusiasm over the Starfleet officers as he listened though his instrument.  "She really is delusional," Dolan muttered under his breath.  However, he made a note to grab some bloodwine later, his genetic enhancements allowed him to drink more bloodwine than a Klingon before intoxication, and even then the effects would much more mild.

Dolan then slowed his pace as he neared Ransom's location, wanting to see what else Ransom had to say to Nocturnus before he began to either repeating himself or questioning Nocturnus.  As he slowed to a halt, Dolan recalled this universe's Karelia's betrayal and his following actions.  Dolan wondered how Karelia got Nocturnus's help in creating a interdimensional rift and reasoned Nocturnus must be getting somewhat desperate to enlist the help of Karelia and his pirate bunch.

"Shuttles? Give me a break." Swift said, he had followed them in to the command centre. It took him a few seconds to work out a rather genius plan. "Let's talk about some real resources, how many escape pods are there on board and how long will it take you to load and launch them? Also I need someone to tell me what sort of fleet they have." Swift hear Cook mention an incoming transmission from some Karelia person. "Admiral this may be a bit presumptiuous, but I would rather not die so I'll just come out and say it, if you can buy some time I have a rather brilliant idea that can wiped out thier entire fleet."

=A=No need to worry Captain, we have our own generator, kindly donated to us by an invading ship who was planning to use it to assault Avalon Station. So we have a way home. But I will talk to my Captain right away. =A=

Cook closed the channel, however he was keeping an ear out for any new Communication.

He then walked to where they had placed the machine in the engineering section of the ship. Cook looked at the retired Admiral and then at the spot and smiled. "Right.... I believe I was thinking that exact place myself. Now if you can grab that end of the generator, I think we can put it into place and get it installed."

He had gone through the plans and wiring of the ship before even thinking about hooking it up, he was glade he was talking to someone that was knowledgeable about this piece of equipment.

Cook then tapped his Comm. Badge. =A= Captain I have made contact, Our friends are waiting with a Barn Door open, but the wind is going to shut it soon.=A= He hoped she understood that they had another rift generator, and they have it open, but they couldn't hold it open forever for them, =A= also, I think they have some wolves with them.=A= He had used that for the Marines onboard as well as the ship was armed for anyone coming after them.

OOC:  I'm confused, if you switched places but your ship and some of it's crew changed, what the heck is everyone back at the station seeing?  Or is it like that Star Trek Enterprise episode, In a Mirror, Darkly, where the ship and crew of the USS Defiant (Constitution class) passes through...wait, that still doesn't explain why the ship changed...So why did the ship change and also some of the crew???

And I still can't believe the Evolution is still docked...I might not be part of the crew, but I'm on it...Well, I'll see how I can get them out of there, apparently the fear of being engulfed by the anomoly isn't frightening them to move...

*they entered the promenade on their way to a turbo-lift to get to ops. The Starfleet officers were however shocked at what they could see. Back on SSA there were melmacians everywhere exploring the promenade and conversing with other species, trying to catch up with modern times. But.. Here the only trace of melmacians was a stool they all walked past. The stool was selling Melmacian furr for quite a price! Suddenly the walked past what looked to be a very wealthy Heraani. How every he was not wearing any uniform of a sort. He was wearing the Heraan equivelant of a business suite. Someone of great power. The Officers were starting to get alarmed but that was not all. Behind the Herrani male, were two felians. They seemed to be slaves, and they had the markings of a slave corporation. 'DMC' were the markings it stood for 'Dantor Mining Corperation' and this led many thoughts rush throught the officers minds. It seemed there would be many questions from both the Terran Julian and the Starfleet Officers. They exited the promenade and proceeded into the turbolift.*

"There are only 8 escape pods on the station, all reserved for the highest priority personnel, whose identities are kept secret for security reasons, and only to be used in case of imminent destruction of the station.  They also required the highest clearance to use, to prevent misuse.  Their locations are secret except for the people that are authorized to use them when there is an emergency.  They also can only be launched from their locations."  Dolan said rapidly, all the while preparing the station's defenses.  "So, a majority of the officers authorized to use the escape pods agree to give you the locations of the escape pods, you just might have to die."  Dolan didn't mention that he was one of the high priority personnel since, as he already said, it was sensitive information.

Deciding to see if Swift's plan was worth anything, Dolan said, "The fleet is made up of various ships, all hijacked over the years, some new, some old.  The flagship is the I.K.S. Vengeance, Vor'cha class, unfortunately.  Karelia managed to steal it about eight years ago, before the Alliance was defeated.  Since the Iroquois has been destroyed some time ago, we don't exactly have the greatest ships located here.  We only have the Evolution, the Rivendell, a few other ships I can't remember the names of, and several shuttles that we acquired.  All of them are moderately damaged and the star ships are on their way to destroy a Rebel base quite a few light years from here.  The station hasn't received reinforcements in a while and only receive experienced officers.  The loss of the Iroquois and the crew was...devastating, to both the fleet and to the people stationed here."  Dolan paused for a moment but then continued.  "It seems the Lothlorien is one of the ships in the Rebel fleet.  Not surprising.  It probably holds the landing party," said Dolan as he glanced at the sensor readings.  Dolan started setting up forcefields around critical areas and set the shields to rotate their modulation every 3 seconds.

"That guys is lucky, last time someone disabled my weapons I killed him with a pencil..." Swift said, hands on his newly beamed in rifle. That was of course a lie but he had said it for comic effect. He looked towards Mirror Julian. "Some hospitality you got here. What next? A fun trip to the brig? A little casual torture perhaps? How about a meal laced with cyanide? Hmm...? That would be nice wouldn't it? Then you would have access to all our technology." It was very obvious what he was insinuating there.

**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan tried to stay calm as the station started shaking violently from the hits it was taking from the rebel fleet.  He knew he had to wait for the Federation ship to get through the rift and was ready to fire as soon as the rift collapsed.  He couldn't fire one nanosecond sooner or the Federation ship might be wiped out of existance.  The temporal calculations of the elimination of the rebel Lothlorien projected a 20% restoration of the station, which in its current state was pretty good.  Dolan wondered what else on the station would be different in the alternate timeline but then returned to the task at hand.  He watched the Federation ship draw closer and closer to the rift, preparing to fire the temporal weapon the moment the ship was through and the rift had completely collapsed.  The rebel fleet was ignoring it, probably figuring out the station would soon be destroyed and they could clean up everything else later.  Dolan grimaced as some outer areas of the station were blown off.  He hoped the Iroquois would get through soon and according to his calculation, they would be through in less than 3 minutes and, with modifications to the generator they have, the rift should collapse immediately once they are through.

Uh SIR! Detecting 20 unknown vessels off our sartboard bow. I dont know why i did not pick them up straight away im sorry. it seems a green beam is being emmitted from one of the ships and into the rift. hmm it must be how they are creating it. It looks like a small invasion force and Avalon is completely defenceless.. The ships are small, only about half the size of the Iroquois. Not detecting any major weaponry on them either. A few type a phaser banks but thats it. One on one they are no match for us but if they all decide to attack we may be in trouble.

What should we do sir?

He said in a calm manner and in a way that said he was trying to maybe calm the officer down. "It is just that... I take it that the Turik that is here is not like our own Captain back home. So right now... we do not know customs and procedures here." He grimaced.  "I can understand a appreciate your cation, but you have taken it to a level that I personally see as a personal paranoia. He began talking quietly so only she could hear, he even knew he range of a genetically enhanced ear so even Dolan wouldn't hear thier conversation.  "Captain, I would suggest not getting drunk around these people. They have already threatened the lives of starfleet personnel and attempted to steal federation technology. We have the device to get home. I say we use it and then seal the way to this universe. (OOC: Think of it this way, in the last timeline, Mirror Dolan has doubts about there being a mirror universe, with it being an alternate timeline and all that.  Though I just realized there is now a continuity problem...shouldn't our universe still feel the effects of the changes to the timeline?  This whole mission now wouldn't have happened if the rebel fleet didn't even get to stay in the Dantor system for a few minutes.  So, the Iroquois would have never been pulled into the mirror universe everything that happened after that included either of the two ships wouldn't have happened.  Now this could be a problem...or we could just ignore it and leave the error, claiming the rift created some strange temporal shielding that protected our universe from the changes to the timeline.  I think I'll chose the latter, as it gives me less of a headache.)

"Captain, I suggest we stay at our present course or else do an all out attack to try and close up the portal. Unfortunately this isn't a have your cake and eat it scenario. I feel it;s one choice of the other."

((Hold on a moment, we need to clear some things up. In STO the Terran's were an iron fist brutal and evil empire. Right? Now according to DS9 apparently they reformed, became all goodness and light, but were overthrown by the alliance. The Terrans were conquered and became slaves. Then the people in DS9 sparked a rebellion in the Terran slaves. Am I to understand that this is a New Terran Empire, built up after the events of DS9 and after they eventually gained thier freedom from the alliance? A good Terran Empire?))

Dolan felt that at this rate, his eyeballs would be rolling out of their sockets by themselves.  He snorted at Swift's caution.  The only thing Swift had to worry about was getting his crew, his ship, and himself put up on a display case for Julian to admire.  Swift also obviously didn't understand Dolan could still hear him with the use of the internal sensors.  With that and Dolan's exceptional hearing, the only way Swift could communicate with Lollock without Dolan hearing is if he was in a mind meld with Lollock which would be fairly obvious, but since neither of them seemed to be Vulcan, it wasn't possible.

Dolan also quietly laughed at Swift believing they wanted his ship.  Sure, it was interesting, but Dolan had already seen the plans to a Defiant class long before the Iroquois arrived.

*Teranis had been running scans of the device emitting the beam into the rift. He then discovers something that could be very helpfull.*

Sir. The ship emitting that pulse has no shields engaged. I was running scans of how they could have emitted a beam like that. All they have is some kind of enhancer attachment on their deflector. We could beam the attachment directly to our cargo bay which would not only stop the ship from emitting and stop that fleet from attacking SSA, but it would also help us find a way back into our Universe.

And to you dear captain.  What I need is not important.  What you need is.  You and your crew need to return home as Do I.  I am the means to get you there.  The device that you beamed aboard was quick thinking on my part.  When i saw your ship drop out of hte rift bearing a federation logo, I knew then that something unexpected had happened (such is the will of the Mother Universe, her and her little pranks).  I dropped the shields to the ship i was on and allowed you to beam it aboard.  Why I was on the ship you ask?.  I was much int eh same perdictment.  Caught in a test fire of the Device.  I"ve been here many long years.  I insinuated myself into the rebels circle having them believe that i was truely for hteir goals of war and repaired their device.  Not an indeal choice but it is the only way home.  I repaired their device and was testing it lookign for a way to escape when you arrived.

Now onto something different,   Your heading to the station?.  I have some good news for you.   THe people I assume you would have contacted by now are the targets of the Rebel Ships.  Their good ppl.  Now any further questions or can we get to work?

**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan sighed mentally, remembering he forgot to tell the Admiral about the neurogenic interface and tried to get out.  He started to panic when he couldn't disengage from the interface.  He sent a transmission to the Ops deck since he couldn't speak with his mind locked in the neurogenic interface.

=/\= Lt. Commander Dolan to Admiral Julian.  I can't disengage from the neurogenic interface.  Using force to get me off will both kill me and probably cause every EPS conduit on the station to explode.  I'm not sure Lollock will be able to take control while I'm still engaged in the neurogenic interface.  And also, the rebel fleet is under the impression the station is fully repaired and prepared to defend itself.  Waiting for them to get close isn't wise, since they'll get suspicious. =/\=

Dolan called for a medic and then worked on getting one of the transporter rooms back online.  After a few minutes of struggling, he managed to get life support and transporters online in one of the transporter rooms.  He got a lock on the Iroquois crew and prepared to beam them straight to their ship.  He wasn't going to take advantage of these people to the point of forcing them to sacrifice themselves for people they just met several hours ago.  He sent a encrypted transmission to the Iroquois.

=/\= Lt. Commander Dolan here.  I have a transporter lock on your people and am prepared to beam them to your ship.  Once you're done with preparations, I'll know and will beam your people to your ship.  Once they are in, get out as fast as you can.  Admiral Julian plans on using you to defend us, though your chance of survival isn't that great.  Don't respond to this message. =/\=

A medic had arrived and started scanning Dolan.  Dolan was shocked to find out his body is now in a stasis-like state and that his mind melded with the station's computer.  It seemed he was now the station's new AI and now that his mind was linked to the station's computer, they were one and the same, though he might be able to transfer to the holobuffer for limited amounts of time.

Dolan managed to get his emotions under control and now was slightly amused at the idea of being a living computer core for the station.  He pitied the medic that had to explain all of this to the Admiral.  It didn't matter if the Admiral killed him or not - no one else could use the neurogenic interface and medical technology had not reached anywhere near the point of saving him.

(OOC: I hope no one really minds this new development.  I hadn't exactly planned it myself, but now we have an intelligent AI for the Mirror station :android:.   Reminds me of that sci-fi show...Andromeda, I believe the name was.  Of course the resources on the station will be restrictive...I wonder how the station will get out of this hole.)

**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan fired the beam as soon as the rift closed and was fortunate he did so in time.  The station was about to be split in half by the rebel fleet but as soon as the purple beam of light that shot out of the station hit and covered the entire rebel Lothlorien, a strange wave of light came from where the ship just was.  Dolan watched, interested, as several ships vanished when the light reached them and briefly wondered what would happen to him right before the light reached the station and everything changed.

---------------------------------------------------------

"Evolution has been badly damaged Commander!" yelled a nearby officer.
Dolan grimaced, not too surprised, since the Evolution was already in not too great a shape and couldn't help take out the rebel base several light years from the station.  The station shruddered violently from the heavy fire it was under.  Fortunately, the troop transports that were going to take over the station were destroyed by the station.
Dolan was also glad he decided to rig a temporal weapon as a back up in case the holoimager failed.  He asked, "Is the temporal weapon fully powered yet?"
"A few more seconds...and...done!"
Dolan fired as soon as he heard the word 'done'.  A beam of green light was shot out from one of the station's phaser arrays and hit one of the rebel ships.  Dolan watched, somewhat mystified, as a wave of light suddenly appeared at where the ship just was and noticed a few rebel ships disappear and a new ship reappear, which resembled a Miranda-class ship, but seemed heavily modified.  The wave of light then hit the station, which suddenly appeared somewhat less damaged and everything else changed.

---------------------------------------------------------

Dolan was on the bridge, in an Admiral uniform, and was watching the situation closely.  The rebel fleet had apparently recently managed to steal several ships from an Imperial base and concluded that was why shipments to the station weren't getting through.  They didn't hesitate to open fire as soon as they dropped out of warp.  The holoimager was knocked offline and now everything was going on some temporal weapons Dolan managed to acquire some time ago, since the station was only at 65% readiness, due to the damage they.
"Target the Miranda-class vessel with the temporal weapon and fire choniton torpedoes on the I.K.S. Vengeance.  Also, have the Evolution and the Rivendell attack from behind the rebel ships," ordered Dolan.  He recognizing the Miranda-class ship from several reports from survivors of attacks and the I.K.S. Vengenace as the ship Karelia managed to steal several years back.  He looked on as the I.K.S. Vengeance was crippled beyond repair by the choniton torpedoes and was awed when the Miranda-class ship vanished after being hit by a blue beam of light.  He grew confused by the wave of light that appeared from where the Miranda-class ship just was and even more confused as the light hit the Vengeance and the ship was fully restored, but facing the opposite direction.  A New-Orleans class ship appeared right next to it, apparently about to ram the Vengeance before Dolan was blinded by the light and the station changed.

-----------------------------------------------------------

"Admiral, the Lothlorien just rammed into the I.K.S. Vengeance," said Dolan as he watched the battle unfold from the bridge, "Also, the station managed to cripple several of the smaller rebel vessels."
"Fire the experimental weapon at the other lead vessel," ordered the Admiral.
"Firing...now!"
A burst of white light came from the station and hit a vessel nearby the Lothlorien.  The vessel vanished and a wave of light suddenly erupted from where the vessel was.  The Vengeance and the Lothlorien were hit with the ligh and were now facing the rebel fleet, neither ship damaged, with the Evolution, Rivendell, and a Defiant-class ship approaching from behind.  Dolan was confused by this development but couldn't do anything as the station was rapidly submerged in the light.

----------------------------------------------------------

"Rebel fleet approaching," said Dolan, as he watched from the bridge of his ship, the I.S.S. Redeemer, one of the first of a new class of ships.  He wondered why the rebels were planning a suicide mission on the station, since they were poorly equipped.
"Maintain postion," ordered Admiral Julian over the comm from the station.
"Just prepare to salvage some materials from the debris," said Admiral Karelia, from a nearby vessel.
The rebel fleet dropped out of warp and were immediately fired on by the Imperial fleet that was waiting for them.  The most of the rebel fleet was crippled in a matter of minutes, though several managed to warp away.  The station had would have taken the rebel fleet out by itself, except the Admiralty didn't allow that, just because they wanted to test the fleet out.
"Should we pursuit?" asked Swift, from the Iroquois.
"No, you have your orders," answered Karelia over the comm.
Dolan shrugged and said to one of his bridge officers, "So we're still on for that game of Velocity later?"
"And have you beat me for the umpteenth with your genetic enhancements?  No way!"
"Well, I'll be in my quarters.  Notify me when we're finished and then set a course for the station."
Dolan then left the bridge and went to his quarters to look over his plans for enhancement to the ship's weaponary.  He then glanced at his plans for an interdimensional rift generator but decided that idea was too far fetched and put those plans away.  Soon after, he ordered lights off and went to sleep, wondering if there really was another dimension.

"Commander Cook I'm here to assist." Swift said, he looked towards the admiral. "What is the old klingon proverb you told me when you did an inspection of my mother ship back when I was about ten, the first time we met? Nocturnus?" It was a bluff, one of the classics, Swift knew he had never met the real Nocturnus and the real Nocturnus would know that and tell him as much. However a fake Nocturnus would either say that he remembered and make one up, or say he remembered the meeting but not the details. The number of divisions or any official information could be easily learned, something like this, although fake, would not have been included in any intel anyone could read on the admiral. Also it would be hard to know he was lying due to the familiar way he said the Admirals name, as if they had met outside of starfleet business.

**Mirror Dolan**

Over the comm, Dolan's voice is heard, replying to Commander Cook's question, which he heard through through the screen where he was monitoring Swift as he worked.

"I am not an inventor, Commander Cook, I am a person who examines foreign technology and sees how it could improve our technology.  It's reverse engineering, to some degree.  It's similar to the Borg, except I'm not aiming for perfection, just improvement.  And thanks for accepting my gift.  You have to find a way to get Swift to calm down.  With reaction times like his, I think he could let down his guard for a relaxing day off.  Talk to you all later."

Dolan liked Cook, but seeing that Swift was still very much on the edge, he decided to return in a little while, perhaps in an hour or so.  He felt a little sorry for Swift, since he was so close-minded to the world.  The people on the station were in most cases very open to newcomers, but Swift was acting very irrationally and unreasonably tense.  The Swift that Dolan knew was much more relaxed and Dolan was actually very good friends with him.  But then the Iroquois was destroyed by a mysterious force and Swift was gone.

Unfortunately, nothing could be done to the other Swift, as Admiral Julian was a fanatic when it came to Starfleet.  Though Dolan might get off a little more lightly than the other officers, since he pretty much had the entire station under his control, most others wouldn't.  Besides, having the Federation as an ally was useful to Dolan.  He had ready access to all the materials he would need, since Admiral Julian couldn't afford to have him as an enemy after he began upgrades to the station.  Especially after the move to Dantor, which was much rougher than expected.  Dolan shrugged off all the memories and continued to work on a prototype phaser bank, now using some of the technology from the phaser rifle.

Unfortunately, he couldn't throughly scan the Iroquois without the Starfleet officers finding out since his scans were extremely short ranged, but also extremely informative, and they would probably figuring out it was him.  Dolan checked the screen that was monitoring Swift before beginning work and setting a timer for one hour, so he could talk to Commander Cook later.

Commander Cook then turned to the controls and saved all the readings that they had taken from the mirror universe, He turned and looked at Captain Lollock. "Yes ma'am." Swift walks back up to Taurik. "Sorry about that, starfleet officers have duties and such. Where were we? Oh yes, if you have a blade that can withstand that thing of yours then I'm game. Unless you don't, I don't mind fighting without a blade. You could use the added advantage I am sure. Though, you know, an energy blade would be cool. I have always wanted a lightsaber, ever since I first saw Obi-wan fight Vader in the death star I have wanted one. I rember that, I was all like 'No!' when vader sliced Obi-wan but at the same time I was like 'cool' beacuse he beacme one with the force and everything. Yeah... but erm... yeah. Where was I? Fighting. Yes. I think I could take you. I am well trained in most forms of martial arts and weaponry, not to mention my keen tactical mind, awesome intelligence, and pure physical strength." Commander Cook held up both hands and yelled at the top of his lungs. "STOP THIS ONCE! EVERYONE JUST STOP!"

He turned to first look at the Mirror Dolan. "Sir... I would appreciate it if you do not steal people's property, especially weapons, as that can be seen in many ways, some of which not so favorable."

He then turned to face Swift his face showing that he was good friends with a Marine. He tapped his comm badge. "Commander Cook to  Iroquois, stand down and do not fire." He then closed the channel and looked at Swift.

"Ensign... this is a serious breech of conduct. We are the guests of these peoples... and from what I can see, they are not acting as the Mirror counterpart of our Captain Kirk." He looked really angry. "Do not think that just because we are in what we call the Mirror Universe, does not mean that everyone here is a blood thirsty tyrant waiting to come to power. These people... they are the good guys of this universe, they just finished a dangerous war.... and are trying to make a name for themselves." He was not happy. "You think that guns and weapons are the only thing to solve problems... well, guess what. Diplomacy and talking is the first means.... violence and war is the last resort. We were offered a gift and you throw it away?"

Commander Cook made another order to the ship and the modified Rilfe beamed into his own hands. "Swift." He said before he could protest on his actions. "I have a good friend who was chief of Security of a station and he is now a Major in the Marines... I know how to handle weapons a little." He was not pleased by his actions.

He turned to Dolan. "So.... you are an inventor? What is it you have created?"

"Really?" Swift asked Mirror Lollock, he found her logic not all that unexpected. "So by your logic if I could better you in a fight then I could take you as a slave? You know, I'm mighty tempted to take up that little proposition." He had no doubt he could take the Mirror Lollock on, the trouble would be making it look like it took some effort, after all his genetic enhancements made him stronger then a full Klingon. He thought there was maybe half a chance she would take the opportunity and be certain of victory, though there was a good chance that the real Lollock wouldn't let him do it as she would be sure of his defeat.

**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan noticed several rebel vessels, including the Lothlorien and the I.K.S. Vengeance, had strayed into range of the station's weapons.  He ordered the shuttles with experimental weapons to fire and then retreat, with the other shuttles covering them the whole time.  One shuttle fired a series of rapid phaser bursts, which ricocheted off the rebel ships' shields and started what seemed to be a pin ball game if a person didn't look closely.  Eventually, one of the ship's shields wore down and collapsed and the phaser bursts hit all over the vessel, damaging a significant portion of the ship.  Another shuttle fired rounds of depleted uranium, salvaged from a planet that had been destroyed by nuclear war, which were accelerated to sublight speeds and they punched through the shields of another rebel ship and did large amounts of damage to the vessel.  A third shuttle fired a blue beam of light at the Lothlorien, whose shields collapsed upon impact.  The station fired photon torpedoes at the Lothlorien and it tried to maneuver out of the way, with little success.  It had hull breaches across the whole ship and it limped out of range of the station's weapons as fast as it could.  The shuttles then retreated, continuing to fire phasers as they went and evading enemy fire.  They managed to make it back, but not before the I.K.S. Vengeance managed to destroy two of the shuttles, though luckily none of the experimental ones.

However, as the rebel fleet backed away, many of the vessels turned toward the rift and fired torpedoes into it.  Dolan mentally swore, since he had now made it more difficult for the Iroquois to return, the Federation Lothlorien would now be destroyed.  He quickly sent a message to the Federation Lothlorien.

=/\= U.S.S. Lothlorien, this is Lt. Commander Dolan again.  The rebel fleet has opened fire on your ship.  I suggest you get your shields up and close the rift until the rebel fleet can be dealt with or the Iroquois gets through, which should be soon. =/\=

Dolan now prepared for an all out attack against the station, though they still didn't know the station wasn't fully repaired.

"With all due respect sir it's Lieutenant, not ensign." Swift said, correcting Cook. "But they stole my weapon and disarmed it, that I take as an act of aggression. I never made one move on them, they stole my weapon. I am open to peace, as far as I;m concerned a world without the need for security would be a nice place. I don't even like to kill people, my weapons stay on stun unless there is a serious threat. Now unfortunately Commander Cook, see I used your correct rank sir, they have threatened a starfleet admiral, I was assaulted by that Brotherhood of Mutants reject, and they stolen federation technology. Now am not assuming they are bad eggs because they are from the Mirror Universe, I'm just making that judgement because of the way they have acted. I have felt nothing but hostility since we came aboard. I gave them many chances Commander, but they keep pushing my buttons. You do not steal from possible friends and allies commander, you just don't."

Once they realised that we had taken not only their device but the Admiral aswell, they opened fire. We managed to avoid most of the incoming fire and it seems what did hit us did not harm us too much. I ordered helm to head to that Mirror Station Avalon and it seems those ships dont like that station. As soon as we went more into their sensor range they backed off.

Strange. The station should have been able to detect those ship. especially if they are as decked out as they appear to be (Refering to an earlier post talking about their weaponry.).

"Fine, blow up." Swift said in a sarcastic manner, he had not intended on using anti-natter but anti-matter explosives as he had stated. These guys really had very few resources. "Because in a fair fight the only way you can win is to let them board and defeat all thier boarding parties one by one. I would rather take them out before they get here. Now you have already augmented your holo projectors to make an image of a station, all we need to do is make a few alterations to the programming, boost the power, and we can have several federation ghost ships. Make them all defiant class and Iroquios has a few decoys. Oh and I would prepare a lot of canisters of some form of knock out gas for transportation. If the shields are breached and boarding parties get through we do a site to site transport and knock all the intruders out. Then we board thier boarding ship and add it to your fleet. Simple."

Swift walked on to the bridge and headed straight for his station, he tapped buttons on his console quickly.
"They don't seem to be following... there is no point firing torpedoes anymore captain. We would just be wasting our ordinance." Swift informed her. Shields were holding and no damaged appeared to have been done to the ship, the pulse phasers weren't even warm let alone over heated. He was an explorer by nature and the mirror universe was a great chance for exploration so the lack of a real fight up to this point didn't really bug him.

"I'm sorry, but I'm just not allowed to use the escape pods.  Besides, they don't have anti-matter containment fields inside them.  They're escape pods, not anti-matter storage tanks.  All the resources on the station are very low at the moment too.  Even if we could carry out your plan, only a few grams of anti-matter could be spared.  And Karelia knows the Admiral here wouldn't try to flee.  They have a long history."  Dolan checked sensors again before continuing.  "There is only one operational holosuite on the entire station and the only other holoemitters that work are used for the holoprojection of a repaired station.  We also can't afford to lose the shuttles.  They are the only ones that we have access to.  Now, unless your plans can be carried out using the station's limited resources and with the fewest loss of resouces possible, be quiet!"

"Hmmmmm, I wasnt doing anything, Admiral.  Besides the acting security cheif is trying to play doctor." Valen said giggling as he deactivated the forcefield.  "Your not going to the brig, sense your an former fleet admiral and not a butt ugly alien specimen, you get the oppertunity to go to the medical bay, the Acting security officer wants a work up done." Valen said as he told the security officers to escort there guest to the medical bay.

<Valen then walked behind the admiral as he was escorted to the Doctors torture chamber> (Medical Bay)

<Walking into the medical bay, Valen pointed to a table in a semi circular part of the sickbay, indicating to the security officers to put the admiral there, once inside, Valen activated a lvl 10 force field yet again>

"Well, Admiral, its not the brig but it will do.  If you wish to have the acting security officer present for this you may request it.  But keep in mind whatever is discussed between you and me is confidential.  Its your call." Valen said as he went over to the computer console and brougth up the admirals medical file and noticed he hasnt had any check ups done in almost 2 or more years.

<Sick Bay>

"Ok, sense they are finally all gone.  Feeling any dizzyness or oddity in your usual routine dispite this mirror universe?" Valen asked Nocturnus.

"Only eight? Hmm... Probably won't work then. My plan was to place anti-matter explosives inside the escape pods, once the enemy fleet tracked them down and lowered shields to board or transport I intended to push the detonator. If you only have eight then the enemy will probably only send shuttle sized ships to retreive them so they don't take away from  the main attack force." Swift explained, he thought that plan had been genius. Then something else clicked in to place in his mind. "Hold on a minute, let's back track a little here. If they know that the high ranking personnel will be on the escape pods then it still might just work. If, say, they thought the admiral was trying to flee then surely they would send the bigger ships out to fetch it rather then a little shuttle.... If we can cripple the larger vessels then the Iroquois should be able to mop up the rest. If that fails I have a few ideas involving holograms and tachyon emissions, and another that includes your shuttles and warp core breaches."

Commander Cook was still standing beside Captain Lollock when she ordered to have them hail the station again, he decided to just stand there and look at the view screen... he wondered what he counter part was like.

((Sorry but the next week, I will be off-line most likely, as such, I will not be able to post, so if they do attack, just have my character knocked out okay?))

*meanwhile over on the other ship.  *** "wee i feel all tingly, finally they've decided to get me off this ship."  *is beamed aboard and materializes in a transport room*.   *looking around finally notices the large contigent of security personell. "hmm, well the same thing i would have done in the same position, Your teacher has taught well.".  *looking at Starchaser* "Lets get this over with, I'll assume you plan on following standard security protocols?." "shall we depart then."

I can't believe i just got kicked out of the sick bay on my own ship.

=/\=Were on our way.=/\=

Lets go Cook.

Admiral, sir, please join us on the bridge. If the doctor gives you a clean bill of health.

**Stpes onto the turbo lift.**

ON THE BRIDGE

**Steps off of the turbo lift and heads toward her seat as Teranis stands up**

Commander, report?

Commander Cook only laughed. "The day I meet a planet that ends up not trying to kill me, or turn me into something else.... I will say that will be the strangest planet around." He saw that the Captain had not appeared yet and he smiled. =A= All hands prepare for battle, we are going to make a run for the rift.... we are going to be in a fight, so batten down the hatches and stand by for attack.=A=

He turned to Swift. "I want weapons fully targeted on the nearest ship... when we leave this bay... I want to show them that we are shall we say a ghost." He smiled, he had taken an idea from the ship, and had place holoemitters around certain areas of the ship, once they zoom out, it would appear as if the ISS Iroquois was alive.. of course the ploy would last only as long as the holoemitters would stay intact.

"Helm, clear all cables and get out into the fight, but keep heading to the rift... maybe we can get some help over here."

"Aye sir," The relief helm officer said and the USS Iroquois began to move out from the dock.

((Sorry but we have been in the hanger for a little too long in my mind.))

"Ohh Ill go take care of our guest whos outside in the lil ole space craft." Valen giggled with glee to himself as he tried to calmly walk towards the turbolift.  Once inside he contacted security to meet him in transporter room 1.

<After a few seconds, Valen entered transpoer room 1, where security teams were waiting for him>

"Ok time to get our guest on board.  Escort him to the brig till we figure out whats he doing here." Valen giggled to himself as he went and pushed a few buttons on the transporter console.

<It took a few seconds but in a quick succession he had Swift lower the shields for a few seconds, in that time the person was beamed to Transporter room 1>

"Now lets see what our guest is doing out here shall we." Valen said to the transporter console and then thanked the console for its services.

"Ok whoever you are, best show all your hands, head, tentacles and lord knows what out of all your orfices.  Also dont try to shoot cuz the weapons were disabled in transit." Valen said shaking with unrelentless mirth and glee.

Commander Cook nodded his head and followed the Captain out of the sickbay as well. He just hoped that the tension that had just happened would not happen again, he was sure there would be some middle ground that they all could find for everyone to stand on.

He entered the bridge and sat down at the science controls since he felt that he was the CSO, and no one else had been assigned it as of yet. He was more then willing to pull double duty.

Head toward the Iroquois and try to setup communication with the Lothlorian. If you get through patch them to my comm badge.

**Turns to Julian**

If we go through they may follow us.

Swift walked in to the Iroquois and excused the crewman that was manning his post. He loaded up photon torpedoes in to the bays and charged up the pulse phasers.
"Why is it that when we go somewhere it always ends in a fight?" Swift asked as he prepared a few extra little surprises for the enemy. "Don't get me wrong, I like action, but just once why can't we go to the planet of infinite delights, or meet a ship manned by small bear cubs? I once went to a planet that had fountains of stuff that tasted a tiny bit like chocolate, but considering the people there tried to eat me I'm not counting it."

"First things first, are those hands the only appendages you have?, you dont have any tentacles or shapechanging abilities? Oh that reminds me." Valen said as he took out a empty hypo-spray.  "This wont hurt a bit." Valen said as he walked up to there guest and sucked his blood.  Then watched it and shook it up a lil, a few seconds passed and it didnt do anything.

"Ok, you passed that with flying colors.  Mind telling me who are you and what your doing here." Valen said as he errected a lvl 10 security forcefield around the transporter pad.

"Sorry, just you tried to indicate the way in which felines communicate and from that I assumed you were trying to devise some sort of feline human communication system." Swift said, then realised that might have sounded a bit too... convoluted for what he was supposed to be. After all he was supposed to be hiding his interest in science as part of his cover. "So we can we go back out there and blow a path through the alliance ships to the rift, so we can get back to our reality?" He thought mentioning blowing things up again might ground himself back in the persona he always tried to show.

Commander Cook had at the alarms raced back to the Iroquois and had finished looking over the scans and blueprints enroute, by the time he had reached the ship, he had a plan forming.

=A= Captain, this is Cook, we are able to install the little beasties of circuitry, but I will need ten minutes to get it ready and prepped...=A= he stopped as the Transmission came through. =A=  Also, it seems that we have company with the Lothlorien, however, we would have to go through a majority of the fleet to get to them.... Since with have a rift generator of our own, maybe we could start up communications with them? With your permission sir.=A= He closed the link and began to work on getting the machine prepared, the good thing about being a ship builder and scientist was, he knew a little more about hot wiring things to get stuff done, he thought that he might have done pretty good as a Chief Engineer if science hadn't... he shook his head, he was getting off topic. Around his legs feeling the tension Captain Smith purred and rubbed his whiskers against his ankles.

"Swift to Starchaser," Swift said as he activated communications, "give him a full medical workup. I want to know everything down to the composition of his blood. Anything out of the ordinary you report straight to me, no matter how small the anomaly. Even if he has a slightly raised white blood cell count or a slight potassium deficiency, I don't care, it won't be a waste of time, I want to know. I am not risking the security of this ship on the hope that we aren't dealing with people that have intelligent ways of killing you. If he complains just tell him to be thankful I'm not asking for a full cavity search."

=^= Captain and Senior Officers to the bridge.=^=

computer report

** Shields down to 87% and holding
** No structural damage taken

Helm, get us out of here, head straight for the mirror Avalon maximum warp.

Helm: aye sir.

(OFF: im saying theirs a helm officer their as it seems mr Clark is in the medbay too?? oh and this happened cause somehow ppl forgot about an army of ships sitting in front of us. :P)

*The Iroquois entered into warp heading straight for the mirror Avalon. The small fleet started to follow but for some reason they all suddenly backed off and let the ship continue to the station*

Commander Cook looked at Swift. "I know this... I was making a theory... but Animals might think in pictures, not words... but we are not talking about the four footed kind here." He smiled and looked at the doors where the chiefs had left.

"I was talking about the possibility of maybe helping bridge a language barrier between us and the Felians... that is the humanoid cat looking person." He decided to use small words to denote that he had been talking about two different subjects. "I also did it to keep my mind off certain events, an escape for me... I haven't touched in months now..." his eyes glazed over as he realized something. "Indeed, it has been months since I last tinkered with that matrix indeed." He feel into silence as he tried to think through some things.

"We don't have any spare power to be pushing anywhere.  Even life support is at a minimum right now.  Our transporter rooms are in sections of the station that are badly damaged and don't have any atmosphere."  Dolan ordered the launching of the shuttles, with the ones with the experimental weapons that he installed himself to be protected at all costs.  He continued, "Karelia might be crazy but he is smart.  He knows that the Federation is in an alternate universe.  Also, there were only 8 Defiant class vessels created, and with the Iroquois destroyed, only 7 in service, all in other areas of the Empire, trying to suppress the rebellion.  He would know something is wrong if other Defiant class vessels showed up.  He also must know our ships are not in dock.  Even your ship won't stand much of a chance against Karelia and his fleet.  He was one of our best before he defected.  And boarding one of their ships is out of the question.  Unless you have a plan to take on a crew of about 80, not including the boarding party itself, which is roughly 300, all on just the Lothlorien alone, with about 50 people from the station, I don't think so.  The station has been on a skeleton crew for a long time.  It isn't going to change soon."

Dolan felt he was taking too long with preparations and decided to test out the neurogenic interface that the station managed to 'acquire' several weeks ago.  He said to the Starfleet personnel still on the Ops deck, "I believe a rift to your dimension is forming a few hundred kilometers nearby the rebel fleet.  A Federation ship called the Lothlorien hailed.  You might want to go."

He got into the Admiral's seat and sat down.  A curved metal device rolled out of the back of the chair and started scanning Dolan's brain patterns.  Dolan was slightly surprised at how easy it was and closed his eyes, giving himself completely to the interface.  He had complete control over the entire station, which he was already used to, and continued with preparations for the battle that was coming using the neurogenic interface.

"Ma'am, they are not the diplomatic types. Basically it's the evil twin cliche, it's going to end up with a very messy fight. I say we attack Bizzaro Lollock with everything we have then turned round and try and get the frack out of here." Swift told commander Lollock, he didn't like the idea of Stay in the mirror universe too long. "Besides we need to close that portal before they try and send this fleet through, even if it means trapping ourselves here."

"Translate a cat?" Swift asked, half surprised and half dumbfounded. "They don't have any sort of language. Animals use alarm calls and have a limited set to send a few basic messages. All you will get the cat to say is 'food' and maybe 'danger' or something. I doubt you could have a conversation as a cat is simply not evolved enough. They have no concept of language. Most creatures don't, although perhaps some other creatures you might be able to converse with. Dolphins perhaps, bee's seem to have full communication, and some people say elephants. There are a few, but cat's aren't one of them."

**Mirror Dolan**

Dolan was growing exasperated at the Admiral, never really expecting her to grasp the whole situation.  He gave up waiting and transported the whole Iroquois crew still on the station to their ship.  He then beamed everyone still on the Ops deck one deck below and then locked the doors and placed force fields around the deck.  He couldn't afford any more disturbances to adequately defend the station.
