He nods.
"Then the last thing I would like to do while you are shadowing me is to get feedback on situational questions. I have 3, there is no correct or incorrect answer. You tell me what you would do, honestly, and I will give you suggestions if anything is unfitting".
"First. Let us say that the station here is under an attack from three..romulan warbirds. The shields are holding at full power, and there is no worry of them falling. What would you do?".
"Second. The same three warbirds are attacking, and the shields are failing quickly. There is a threat then of boarding parties, you have already been notified that they have prepared a locking transport onto all admirals on the station"

"Third. The three warbirds yet again. The shields have fallen. The lower ten decks of the station have been severed from the rest of the station. There are boarding parties totalling of one hundred romulan security officers on the station. The station ops chief has been killed. The computer core has been left intact, and you assume the enemy wishes to steal all information before killing everything. With all three of these, tell me what you would do".

"You may speak with him as he leaves a discussion. That discussion is being held in Admiral Voraks office, as I heard while on Ops"

Lurado entered his new office on the station. It was a far thing from the old ship, but it would do. He set his things where he wanted them and took a seat.

He nods. "It is no problem at all. Since you are in order for the postion in my security department here at the station, I will talk with your instructor. Perhaps half of your instructional time can be working in the postion under my guidance. I will head there now, as a matter of fact, to see if I can get that set up. Its good to meet you"

"Now, we will need to head towards the docking bay. Your assistance can be used, the U.S.S. Skytoucher remains have been settled in one of the docking areas, we will need to secure it"
He stood from the desk, and headed towards the decks turbolift.

*Lurado and Reynolds enter the office. Reynolds turns to face Lurado*

"Sir, i know you spoke with Commander Balkazar and i have a feeling that he told you about the...'incident'. I would like to apologise for my attitude up until now. I would like to ask that we begin afresh. All i ask is that i am given another chance. Please, sir?"

Lurado returned to his office with Reynolds. He pulled a table to the middle of the room, and set several padds, as well as a few separated systems, and pulled a chair to the other end for Reynolds.
"This is an aspect of your duties that might come into play for an XO or field officer at any time. What I would like to go through with you is a less advanced observation".
He picked a small component from the table and a PADD.
"Shield modulation is important to your duties on a station. Being able to shift frequencies to avoid an enemy from breaking through. Other than that, I would like you to be aware of procedures suring security alerts. Obviously you must secure any and all vital areas. Locations of officials who would be targeted as well as cargo".
He pulled the PADD away and read another.
"Another thing I would like to discuss for anyone on my security team here. I have a standard perhaps that is unique. I look for anybody in security who holds and officer rank in my department on this station to compose themselves at that level. This station is by far the most difficult, and important to secure. It has numerous important officials stationed on it as well as many guests. The way I see it, if security is assigned to control a thing, that thing must be controlled, or we fail. Do you have any questions, Mr. Reynolds?"

"And they are all very excellent choices. I am very glad you mentioned destruction in the final scenario. I expected self-destruction, or some other form it it. In a case of hopelessness, the decision you never want to make is always the first to consider".
He pushed the PADDs to the end of the table and stood.
"That is the end to the most brief tactical classroom ever".
He went to his own desk and brought up its computer console.
"You are still a provisional ensign at the moment, and for that to change, I would like to see one more thing. Currently, there is at least one representative from the Delta Alliance on this station. One can assume that when ambassadors and representatives are involved, that there will be important meetings, and even more important people coming. I will be checking the security for any things in the far background. But  I would like you to be in command of the primary tactical and security operations for any further things with the DA. I will tell you the first step, and I will see the rest as you make the decisions. Your first step would be to await the private meeting of Comm One, who is the current on-board representative, with the Admiral and Ambassador. Showing the proper courtesy of waiting for the meeting to end, you will want to check for a briefing on any coming of more guests, or planning of any more meetings or conferences. Inform him that you are an apprentice of me, entering your final step of training to become this stations security executive officer. I can think of no greater test than to assign you this responsibility. I have full confidence in your ability. Unless you have questions, you may be dismissed".

"Captain Lurado is in Ops"   the computer replied

*With that, Reynolds left Lurado's Office*

"There is. I do not know if a Non Commisioned officer can hold the postion, it would be great for you to enroll in the tact/sec course in the academy, I will hold the postion for you if you wish".

"You will have plenty of chances to refocus that. I am not one hundred percent clear on the details of whatever incident you were involved in, but I am sure I will not experience it".
He handed Reynolds a Starfleet PADD which showed a diagram of the station.
"The security department is in charge of watching during the stations recovery period. We must ensure that no intruders find thier way on board, along those lines. While the command works to stablize, engineering to rebuild. We are to maintain control and organization, that is something worth noting in your apprenticeship".

"This is what I would do sir"

1) If there was no worry of the shields failing then I would be pretty content with leaving the high ranking officials where they are, however, It might be worth putting the shields on a rotating frequency modulation, just in case.

2) The first priority would be the Admirals and Officials. I would move them to a secure location and set up a Transport Inhibition Field around them. The shields would then be reinforced with auxiliary power and I would post security officers at every access point in acse the Romulans try to dock.

3) With the shields down, my priority would be to get all non-essential personnel to a secure location and repel the intruders. As for the computer core, I would station heavy guard around the area, and encript the computer. If  the Romulans somehow break the encription, then I would blow it up. Allowing the Romulans to capture vital information on the Federation's strengths and weaknesses would be devastating.
