"Thank you for the inspection Mr. Jones."

All of the probes are ready to go and we are ready down here to enter the nebula.

"Mr. Jones, lets see if we can't boost the navigation defector a little, I think it would make all of us a little more comfortable going into the nebula."

"I'll be right there. Taurik out."

Taurik pressed a comm button on his chair, and opened a channel to the Kelata. "Commander, an away team will be transporting over to your ship momentarily. You've come at a very opportune time. I'll tell you more when we arrive."

Taurik got up from his chair quickly. "Commander, you have the bridge," he said, and walked over to the turbolift and stepped inside. As the door closed, Taurik stated "Transporter Room One," and the lift took off soon after.

T'lana, with nothing better to do watched the progress of the small assault unit on the Stealth Ship's sensors.

A few minutes later, the computer awoke her from her concentration of the telemetry datastream that was flowing over the display screen.

Computer: Incoming subspace communication on an encrypted channel.

"Put it through, Computer."

Computer: Channel open.

=A=Kelata to TARDIS=A=

The Doctor: "Hello T'lana how's things?
Anyway that isn't the reason why I contacted you, have you found the Gallifreyan Battlecruiser yet?"

"Yes Doctor, the Kelata's sensors registered the derelict in Slipspace., how did you know."

"I have friends on the High Council of Gallifrey still ya know...ha ha ha, *uhem* anyway, tell your Captain to move it, that is an order from the Order of Gallifrey.
The High Council have instructed me to tell you that the Battlecruiser is yours to use anyway you wish, which is odd coming from the High Council, Gallifreyan technology is not meant to be in the hands of any other species at all.
Oh well. like they say on Earth, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, but I would advise you to get it before someone else does, the Vortex Drive alone, would change the structure of Galactic events, let alone the Temporal Weapons."

"Indeed, I will Doctor."

Galen starts poking around the tARDIS, seeing how all the systems are working.

Captain Taurik stepped onto his bridge and sighed. This constant hit-and-run war with the Na'jigat and the Heraan was becoming tiresome, not to mention costly. For the first time in many years, Taurik was truly distraught.

Suddenly, he noticed upon sitting down that he had a personal message, top level priority, from Admiral Karelia. Upon reviewing it, he tapped his intercom switch.

"All hands, this is the captain. Report to your stations and begin preparations for launch."

A still young middle aged man walks onto the bridge of the Rivendall, a look of awe and wonderment in his eyes, he sees the Captain and right away salutes him. "Lt. Indiana Jones reporting as an Engineer." He had to stop himself from saying cheif... it would be strange not having that posistion now... but he would get use to it now, besides, this might give him more time to work on some of his pet theories for a while.

Jones walked over to the probe and looked at it, running a few diogonstics and finally walking over to another panel and simulated the tether they could use... he then shut off the panel, walked over and smiled. "You can boot her up and drop her... you did well, in fact I compared these to the models were were planning on using and I notice a three percent rise in efficency from our levels... nice job on improving the design." Jones smiled and then asked a question. "I believe that the bridge would be wanting to know that our last bread crumb is now finished."

Title: Mission 10: "Power of the Ancients"
Post by: T'lana on January 17, 2007, 01:06:20 AM
T'lana looked up from the telemetry data that she was studying, after hearing the tell tale electro-magnetic crackle of Transporter activity, to see her passengers finally arrive on board the Vulcan runabout.

"Welcome aboard Captain, it is agreeable to see you again."

Computer: Slipspace Engine cycle-down, complete

T'lana turned back to the Helm controls and switched the telemetry data back to real-time.

T'lana then set course for the planet's atmosphere and engaged the Gravimetric Engines to 25% which was equivalent to 75% Impulse Power. The Kelata slid through spacetime towards the planet by manipulating local gravity and electro-magnetic fields.

Apart from the usual hum of power relays, the Kelata was pretty much silent in it's machinations, making it the perfect surveillance/reconnaissance vessel and probably could be considered too advanced for a Vulcan to design and build, but so far no one has ever queried it's highly advanced technology.

Taurik, unsure how exactly to use the nanite communication system, simply projected a thought to T'lana. "I am slightly busy at the moment. I leave the decision up to you."

He noticed the Heraan creeping closer and closer as he backed toward the lieutenant's ambush squad. Suddenly, as the time was right, he leaped backwards and yelled, "Now, lieutenant!"

(OFF: I have something planned, but you're right, it's not progressing fast enough.)

After removing the entire attacking soldier force, Taurik was faced with just the officer. Luckily for all of them, the officer was not a very high-ranked one, and therefore had a quite basic grasp of the psionic arts. It was a quick battle to dispatch him, as Taurik deftly went into a blade lock with him, pushed the opposing blade away, and slammed the Heraan with a blast of energy, crushing his chest.

"We must hurry, whatever they were searching for has already been found, we must quickly procure a way onto the enemy ship. There is a gravity lift not very far away, if we can gain access to it, we can ride it all the way into the Heraani cruiser."

Jones felt that he should state regulations as the reason why he was handing over a report that he had pulled from his debriefing from his first venture into the Van'Gu Cluster.

On the bridge, Matthews continued to examine the readings from the sensors. They had been in the cluster for a long while now, with nothing. He had seen a few readings that excited him, but each was passed away as something unimportant before he could announce a probable finding. He finally gave way to waiting, and tapped his comm badge.
=A= Bridge to Engineering, Commander, now may be a time to set out one of our 'bread crumb' beacons. Also, do we have any probes to launch ahead yet? Our own sensors, even with some of the adjustments, aren't finding anything. I may be jumping the gun on expecting to find something out here, but it won't hurt to put all resources on this =A=.
He glanced a final time at his readings, and turned to the tactical officer.
"Ensign Kennedy, you have tactical". He went to the ops station, where Taylor stood working.
"Anything on your console Ensign?".

"Acknowledged Captain, initiating cloaking system *Kelata cloaks and activates it's ablative armor* is there anything I can do from out here Captain?"

=A=Kelata Out=A=

The Kelata's cloaking system is the result of millennia of advancement in Vulcan technology, using a Phase-shift Cloaking System, the Vulcan Stealth Ship is nearly completely undetectable, with a 99.99% invisibility rating.

But was only really possible due to T'lana's work on the Slipspace Engine, a device that shunts the vessel into Hyperspace (Slipspace), an alternate dimension that exists above the normal four Dimensions of spacetime.

T'lana turned to the telemetry data collected by the Kelata, while it was crossing the void between universes known as the Eleven Dimensional realm of Hyperspace, Slipspace being the umbilicals that connect each universe together in the endless continuum of the Multiverse.

What she found in the collected mosaic of electro-magnetic sensory information, surprised even her controlled and highly evolved mind.

The sensory echo of the "looking glass" showed a vessel, in the same vector coordinates as the USS Rivendell, only it was in a static holding pattern within the tumultuous gravimetric slipstream of Slipspace.

"Computer, verify sensory echo in Slipspace of it's spacetime equivalent at coordinates 3390-0067-2976-2011."

Computer: Please specify nature of request

"Is that a vessel, in Slipspace at those coordinates, or a gravimetric illusion."

Computer: Acknowledged, from what is known of the design and energy signature, current data would indicate that a Gallifreyan battle-cruiser was in Slipspace prior to the jump back to normal space.

"Interesting..."

"Indeed, well I thought it would take longer than that, for the High Council to finally realize that there is a multiverse outside the Great Barrier.
I'm setting course for another location, I shall return us to this location when the Task force has finished blowing things up." The Doctor looked sad, but that didn't last long as he shrugged and engaged the TARDIS's Vortex Drive.

"Acknowledged Captain."

T'lana turned to the Helm and re-engaged the Gravimetric Engines, setting the coordinates for the indicated LZ.

At 50% power, the Gravimetric Engines brought the shuttle to the coordinates in 2.3 minutes flat, with the stealth-ship settling down with little to none of the dusting a Starfleet runabout would cause.

Shutting down the Gravimetric Engines and bringing down the Zero-Point Energy Converter to 50% power out put, the Kelata would have to be physically ran into to even find it.

Computer: Quantum Induction Core at 50%, cloaking system working within normal parameters.

T'lana cycled the embarkation hatch and stood to assist the assault unit with their EVA suites, once complete she sat back down at the Helm.

Knowing that it is illogical to even suggest she went with them, T'lana grabbed the nano-infusion hypospray and injected all of them with a seed population of self-replicating nanites designed to establish themselves under the earlobe.

"The nanites I have just injected you with, will interconnect into a Subspace Transceiver, simply vocalize your communication requirements as with the commbadges.
These nanites have an operational period of 3 hours, your bodies will then expel them during urination afterwards.
If you find this nanotechnology agreeable, I can create ones that will last indefinitely."

T'lana looked at all of the assault members and raised her hand in the Vulcan salute.

"Mene Sakkhet Ur-Seveh...Live long and Prosper."

Title: Mission 10: "Power of the Ancients"
Post by: T'lana on January 29, 2007, 04:09:23 AM
Lieutenant Commander T'lana, had been waiting in the still cloaked, Vulcan Stealth Ship for along time waiting for Captain Taurik and the others to return.
The Kelata had nearly been discovered a couple of times, as several enemy patrols had passed the Kelata looking for, what was unknown, perhaps the ship, but that would be jumping to conclusions.

T'lana considered risking communication with the Assault Unit, especially in her weakest moments, but logic and reason circumvented such acts as emotional transgressions and was quickly brought under control.

It was then that T'lana remembered the Nanite subspace transceiver nodes, she had injected into the squad and was given to her by the Doctor.
A strange being of obvious advancement that came to her on Vulcan during the Kelata Project and was instrumental in much of it's design, including the Nanites.

T'lana had asked him what his real name was when they met a while back on Vulcan, the Doctor had looked at her jovially and stated "If I told you, I would have to kill you," the Doctor had then laughed and gave her a hug and left.

But what the Doctor had said to T'lana after the hug and the the Kelata Project was fully complete, troubled her to this day, he said:

"I am become death, the Destroyer of worlds."

T'lana came out of her revelry, wondering why she had thought of those events with the stranger and why they haunted her now, but it is illogical to worry about such things, but the Doctor did leave a lasting impression that would probably exist all remaining life.

T'lana tapped the comm system connecting to the Nanite transceivers...

Alright, we'll assume this mission is over. Since it's not one that can just be abandoned, however, I'll post a synopsis of what happened after.

Taurik and the Rivendell assault teams stormed the Heraani ship, locating the cause of the psionic readings. The Heraan had in their possession a large crystalline stone, which Taurik gained from the Heraani ship master (captain) after an intense fight. They then beamed out to the Kelata and returned to the Rivendell and the ship destroyed the Heraani cruisers, and returned to Avalon Station. Realizing there was something special about this stone, Taurik had his bridge crew keep any mention of it out of their official reports, as he planned to hand it over to the Gallifreyan council.

*...Dean Nodded...*

"Yes, sir. Very good, sir."

*...He watches the Captain leave and enter his ready room. He gives a slight Grin and walks up to the command chair. He sets his hand on the armrest of the chair and thinks to himself about all the missions he had been on while he commanded the Venture. Those were his golden days, his prime one would say. He catches himself starring into nothing so he shakes it off and he starts to command...*

"Hello everyone, this is Commander Starwind. You're new XO. I would like you to know that I am honored to serve with such an esteemed crew as this. I am old but there is still allot of light years left on this old mule so I hope to be here for a while. So I would like everyone to fall in with their name, rank, and position to better acquaint myself with the crew."

*...He looks around to see who will speak first...*

Taurik looked to his chief of security. "Get your men suited up, we are landing on the planet."

"Commander, take us down here," he said, pointing at a map on the copilot's console. "From there we can stage a hit-and-run on the Heraani expedition."

"Lieutenant, take your men and set up a ambush over there," Taurik said, pointing to an outcropping of rock. "Set your phasers to maximum power, I'm going to lure some of the soldiers that way."

Suddenly, before Taurik could put his plan into action, he heard a voice speaking to him in his head, insisting on a report.

"I don't know who you are," he replied telepathically, "but I am quite busy, and have no time for introductions."

The Doctor activated the main monitor and zoomed in on events happening on the planet, knowing that the EVA suite he so kindly beamed down for Taurik was comparable to a  second-skin, light-weight and armored. There is only one reason that Taurik's EVA suite would be damaged, it was on purpose.

The Doctor agreed in part with training lesser species and inducting them into the newly established Order of Gallifrey, he had trained a lot of them himself.

But perhaps showing the lesser races on how to control the higher brain is not enough, teaching them not to think themselves gods and take over all situations leaving the untrained forgotten, would also be prudent.

"Dean, the reason I am here is to assist as much as I am allowed and make sure that you retrieve the derelict Battlecruiser that was lost to us.

The vessel is a telepathic biomechanical starship, so those who rescue it it will imprint on, creating a symbiotic relationship between the user or users and itself.

Think of it as a gift, it took me ages to convince the High Council it was for the best."

The Doctor paused for a moment...

"Treat her right and she will do the same in kind."

Jones momentarily froze, but only nodded his head. "Aye sir... I'll just go tweek the Excalibur's program, after all, she did visit that cluster already, don't want to reinvent the wheel after all." Jones said with a dry laugh. He then goes to an empty engineering control panel on the bridge and began to pull up the plans and right changes. He turned around, "I will even try to improve range as well, but I am unsure of how much I can give you." He turned back to his work.

Jones mentally told himself to watch his muttering around other people when he works from now on.

*...Dean Sat in the command chair feeling pretty useless at the moment and the given situation. He want to out there with the Captain but he knows that someone has to be here for the ship. Not knowing much but what he has read about it he started to let his mind drift by thinking of the possibilities the ship possesses. He catches himself before letting the daydream progress any further. He knew his duty was important and he knew he was not an admiral anymore so he did not have the the luxury of having other officers maintain a ship or station. He smiled at the fact of not being an admiral anymore. He always loved being a starship officer. It was his passion. Though he misses his beloved Venture so dearly. He starts to think about how Weasly is doing on the Iroquois and what they are up too. 'Maybe Ill write to him. He would like that. He always enjoyed the classic things in life. DAMN I'm doing it again!' Dean thinks to himself as he catches himself staring blankly at the view screen. "I have to find something to do before I start messing with phasers and such."...*

Jones had only nodded his head to Morgan's suggestion and had gone to work, he sighed before rubbing his eyes, he had been looking at the same screen for almost an hour and all he had gotten was a two percent rise in efficincy. He had been hoping for a five percent rise.

He turned to give his report to the Chief engineer. "Sir, I have only been able to give you a two percent rise, but I will keep looking into making them better. Don't worry, when I get a job, I do not give up." He then blinked and shook his head, maybe he had been staring too long at the LCARS, but he had a job to do.

It seemed a long time as the Kelata hovered there just outside the Energy Barrier, waiting for it to be set to embarkation.

But T'lana could not wait anymore and activated the Vulcan Stealth Ship's Meson Canons.
Repeated fire from the gravity-effecting Meson particles reduced the Energy Barrier's emitters to rubble, not being able to withstand the sudden shift in the quantum gravitational field.

T'lana decloaked the Kelata and brought her into the Flight Bay. A four tiered bay, T'lana seen the tier Taurik and team was on and brought the Kelata up to that tier.

Noticing the sweeping phaser fire, she seen what they were firing at as the ionized plasma streams hit several cloaked Heraani grunts.

T'lana deactivated the Ablative Generator and lowered the embarkation hatch, reversing to the secondary flight tier.

"Commander, go now, I shall cover you."

As Commander Starwind and his assault team left the Kelata, T'lana closed the hatch, raised the shields and began saturating the area with the Meson Canons not touched by the phaser beams.

Time seemed to slightly change as Meson particles imploded around the Flight Deck crushing all the Heraani, not touched by the phaser beams.

"You are cleared to proceed Captain, I shall stay here with the Kelata for a quick extraction."

Taurik ignored the reply for now, resolving to meet with this "Doctor" as soon as he was available. At the moment, he had more pressing issues to attend to.

Noticing that the security team was in place, Taurik leaped over the rock he was hiding behind and landed behind a group of Heraani soldiers. Deftly, he proceeded to sever two of the three soldiers at the waist with one swipe, promptly gaining the full attention of the third. He deflected a plasma shot with his blade, and grabbed the soldier with his mind, easily tossing him up into the air and throwing his khala after him, impaling the soldier in midair. As the corpse was about to hit the ground, Taurik pulled the blade out of it's chest with a short burst of telekinesis.

Now, with the three soldiers dispatched, Taurik looked ahead of them, only to see the rest of the Heraani landing party glaring at him intently. Among the smoke, he saw a narrow green energy blade activate, one characteristic of a Heraani officer.

Taurik, now encumbered by the EVA suit, realized the Heraan now had the major advantage. He ducked as a soldier leaped past him, and summoned a blast of psionic energy to shatter the EVA suit, quickly harvesting the bits and launching them at the oncoming group as shrapnel.

Taurik kept his blade drawn and lit, and scanned the room silenty with his eyes. Every physical sense told him the room was empty, but he knew better than that. Suddenly, he saw a light in the corner of the room shimmer ever so slightly. It was so subtle he barely noticed it, but he wasn't about to let his guard down. As swift as he could, the captain drew his phaser with his free hand and fired off a beam in the direction of the disturbance. Not surprised, Taurik saw the shimmer spew purple blood onto the floor, and watched as the shimmer faded into the visage of a Heraani soldier.

"They're using stealth generators. Sweep the room!"

The rest of the team pulled out their hand phasers and began to sweep them around the room, holding the triggers down to cover every square inch of the room with phaser fire. Several more shimmers fell and decloaked as their lightly-armored bodies were penetrated by high-powered particle beams.

Jones turned around to see Tylor. "Ah, yes, indeed." he then turned to face the second voice, but the two had already moved on. He shook his head. "Why do people talk to me, and then move on without an answer?" He had said this to himself, but then smiled at Taylor.

"Okay, let's see.... you are in operations... so," his brow furrowed. "You do realize that the Science officer is usually better at knowing this. But concerning engineering, I would think that you should keep an eye on power levels and make sure that everything is normal. But also, make sure that we can divert power if needed."  He then smiled. "And I might as well tell you the answer to another question, I have been in their, but we had to go chase after some ghost intruder or something, so we haven't gotten anywhere in their really, but I did get a good amount of time to study the effects of making engineering more effective in their. But here I am chatting away, so come on, let's get to work." Jones then returned to the Engineering post on the bridge.

He was however unsure of if he had told what an Operations officer should do, he was more concerned about engineering, so his knowledge of other fields was a little fuzzy.

Matthews eyes widened as the Captain finished. He had assumed the Captain wanted to discuss the tactical situation.

"Thank you sir, I am proud to still be on the Rivendell. I will not let you down". He took the extra pip, and placed it over the empty space that marked the Junior Lieutenant. As he turned to follow the rest of the senior staff, he glanced down to see how it looked, feeling for that moment like he was just given his first rank of Ensign, he quickly looked forward again, and stepped onto the bridge.

After running through strategies, Taurik and the assault team peek over the rock one final time, awaiting the perfect chance to strike. Finally, the moment came when the elite Heraani lieutenant in charge of defense turned his back for a moment. Taurik leaped from the rock, and landed right behind the lieutenant, moving for a khala strike. The Heraan drew his own blade and spun to meet Taurik's, reflecting his blade away smoothly. Taurik ducked and went for a blow to the legs, but the elite was ready for it, and jumped while pushing Taurik back into the rock, where he landed roughly. Realizing they had lost the advantage, Taurik looked over at Lieutenant Matthews and the assault team, who had their weapons trained on the Heraani troops, who happened to be returning the gesture.

"Taurik to Kelata," the Vulcan said, tapping his commbadge, "We could use some assistance, if it is possible..."

The entered the turbolift, and came off at the engineering deck.

"Very well. We have no time to waste."

Taurik stepped into the airlock with the rest of the team, and pressed the button on the wall that cycled the airlock. the door behind them closed, and the outer door opened, revealing a strange, smoke-filled orange atmosphere. They stepped onto the rusty dirt, and Taurik, the only one without a suit, began to channel his power to combat the lack of breathable oxygen in the air. He could, using subtle manipulations, actually wean himself from his oxygen requirement for a limited amount of time, a few hours at best. Still, the quicker he could get to breathable air, the better.

"Keep your phasers at the ready," Taurik said, drawing his energy blade and lighting it. "With luck, they won't have an elite among them."

Taurik and his team stepped onto the gravity lift, and stood on the large circular pad for several seconds, wondering why there was no effect.

"Perhaps it can only be activated from onboard the--"

At that moment, they began to feel very light, and suddenly rocketed upward toward the underside of the hovering cruiser, nearly five hundred meters in the air. As soon as the team was inside the ship, the hole from which they entered closed abruptly with a spiraled door, reminiscent of a camera's aperture. The team was slowly lowered to their feet, at which point they proceeded to bring their weapons to the ready. It was quiet, much quieter than would be expected during a hostile boarding operation.

"Acknowledged Captain."

T'lana programmed the Helm to go to where the sensors marked as an intense gravity flux.

The Kelata flew down to the gravity lift and hovered just above the interface platform.

T'lana made sure there was no troops in the area where they could be ambushed and beamed down Taurik's assault team.
After the Transport was complete T'lana set course for the USS Rivendell, where she had contacted the Bridge for a second assault team to be ready in two minutes.

Once the second assault team was on board and suited up, T'lana set course for the cruiser and hovered the Kelata just outside the Energy Barrier of the starboard, forward flight bay, that was just beyond the Gravity Lift.

T'lana kept the sensors on Taurik's team ready to pilot the Kelata into the flight bay once the Energy Barrier was set to receive ships.

"Acknowledged Captain."

T'lana brought the Kelata's Gravimetric Engines up to 100%, the still cloaked Vulcan Stealth Ship was at Taurik's location in 10 seconds.

T'lana beamed Taurik and his team on board and let the Heraani have it with the Kelata's Meson Canons.

Each bolt of electromagnetic-ionized Meson particles attached themselves to the surrounding area and many of the Heraani themselves, causing their bodies to be crushed on the sub-atomic level by the gravimetric flux, as the Meson packets imploded.

T'lana looked back at the bereft assault team and raised her left eyebrow.

"Am I to assume Captain, that events did not go to plan?"

T'lana looked back at the helm and programmed the shuttle to return to orbit, with the gravimetric engines still at 100%, the Kelata came to a full stop ten seconds later.

"Orders Captain?"

T'lana felt and heard the Captain's reply through her pituitary gland and the nanite commlink simultaneously, giving her a headache.

T'lana didn't reply to Taurik as he was busy, but she was considering supplying air support, but then even with the powerful sensors, the Meson Canons might cause too much damage.

T'lana was definitely getting tired of waiting here though, in a Vulcan kind of way of course.
So she activated the Kelata's gravimetric engines and piloted the Vulcan Stealth Ship up into the air, confusing a Heraan patrol that was trooping past.

Activating the Meson Canons, the Kelata wiped out the entire troop in bursts of three dual blasts.
It was the logical thing to do, as they would have reported back about the Stealth Ship.

T'lana then piloted the Kelata up into orbit, decloaking next to the USS Rivendell and opened a secure channel.

=A=Kelata to USS Rivendell=A=

"Commander Starwind, the Captain is other wise engaged still down on the planet's surface, this is taking considerably too much time, request a full Hazard Team to be beamed to the Kelata for an all out assault, of course they must be in EVA suites."
