Chaya Sar had been working on her Viper for the good part of two hours now and had overhauled the electromagnetic turbines, several power couplings, had cleaned out the exhaust and had repaired the polarity controller for the repulsorlift - powerful room temperature superconductor coils that manipulate magnetic fields for vertical take off and landing.
Finally feeling better about herself, Chaya packed up her tools and closed the propulsion system's access panels. Placing the tool box back into it's holder behind the seat in the Viper's cockpit, she cleaned her hands with Bacta-Wash and hopped into the cockpit.
Placing her key into the ignition system, Chaya fired up the power converter and started Ion Engines in reduced power mode, specifically used for engine start-up tests. With a slight sputter expected when the exhaust is cleaned the Ion Engines fired up as they should. The three Ion Turbine Engines kicked the Viper forward slightly even with the repulsorlift adjusted to counter any forward movement. Satisfied Chaya shut down the engines, took out the key and placed it back into one of her robes hidden pockets.
Even though it is called a key, that really isn't an accurate description. Yes it allows you to start the engines, but it is mainly part of the security system, DNA encoded to the user.
Chaya Sar suddenly realized she was quite tired, due mostly to the fact that she hadn't slept in 48 standard hours. Closing the powered cockpit canopy for some portion of privacy and quiet, Chaya made herself comfortable and fell asleep.
Chaya could never sleep properly though, the force would never allow her the comfort of oblivion in sleep. No, the force showed her things, visions of events that are yet to come. It was the yet to come that gave Chaya nightmares; for a darkness is coming. She had some comfort though, because her training specifically states that the future is always changing. Events that occur in precognitive visions are mere possible outcomes and even her own experience has shown that that is quite true, that didn't make the visions any less frightening though, because they could just as easily come to pass. With any possibility, other possibilities are also true.
