"Mr. Rikan, you disappoint me. Would you condemn an entire race, because of a handful people that caused all the wars in our history? The wrong people have come to power too often in our history, which is why those wars happened. We did not abandon our Torran Empire at all. I have always tried to strive for peace in our Empire, and we have it now. Those that refused to give up their war mongering, have split off and have become the Torran Exiles! Besides, I have read before that the history of the Nigillians was not always peaceful either. Before they discovered their... Gods... they waged war upon each other as well!"

*Two guards grab Mentora.*
"I order you to release me now! I said release me! And arrest chief Ardwyad for treason against his superior officer and the Delta Alliance!"
*The two guards still hold him, and don't move.*
"Release me and arrest him! That's an order!"

"You are right, Mr. Ardwyad. If we try to fight them here and now, they will utterly destroy us, savages as they are! But don't worry, we will have our time to return the favour."
*He touches a button, and the viewscreen shows a map of Delta Alliance space.*
"As you can see, we are currently all the way in the left, at Talonis. Our plans here would have worked, if the Traquel had not shown up unexpectedly, for which I believe Mr. Rikan can be held responsible... I knew we shouldn't have let him go! In this area, we are hopelessly cut off from reinforcements. The Talonions themselves will be reluctant to join any side with military assistance, and below us, the Yzakians have the same mind. We are too far off from Torran space for reinforcements, and though Dralian territory borders to Talonion space, they are too far off to ever get here in time to assist us, and besides, their military technology is not as advanced as that of the Torrans, as they are a species of trade, not of war. Therefore, let's do the unexpected thing."
*He points his finger to the viewscreen, motioning from the left to the right.*
"We move our fleet to Naederian space. We will have to cross Nygean space for the most part, but Nygean space is the most wasted area for the moment where chaos rules and nobody knows which side to pick, so while we will not get reinforcements there, we will be unopposed as well. When we close in to Naederian space, we can call for reinforcements from Torran space, as they will be much closer to us from there. While the Dralians could cross from their space to Nygean Space to keep control over the capital planet, and keep the High Queen secure from her enemies, we attack Naederian space with our own new reinforcements. If we can gain control over the planet Naederia, we control their space, and in it we succesfully divide our enemy forces: the Nigillians will be cut off from the Traquel and any of their other allies. That will prevent them from attacking us on a large scale, or even forming concrete battle plans. And from Naederia, we can attack their neighbours one by one, without risking the loss of too many of our own forces."

"Don't believe a word they're saying, son. He's trying to stall time to prepare their assault, but we should attack them now, while we still can! Open fire!"

"To Talonis! They must have received reinforcement from those two ships, which means that more reinforcement of Starfleet may be under way with the intention to invade and conquer our space! And surely they must be planning to attack Talonis first!"
*Then he looks at Ardwyad.*
"I count on you now. We must defend the planet Talonis at all costs! They have not chosen to ally with us, but remain neutral instead, but if we help them now, they will come to realise the seriousness of the threat of Starfleet, and find the wisdom to join us!"

"Mr. Rikan, you will judge me for what my ancestors did? You would think me a barbarian, even though I myself have opposed those who promoted war? I have fought to preserve peace among my people, yet you think I enjoy war. Do you believe your own people to be better than ours, because of your past?"
*Mentora steps forward to Rikan.*
"Mr. Rikan, I need to know you are with me on this, or not. We don't oppose your people, we just want to make safe the Delta Alliance, and when your people will understand the nobility of what we are trying to do, they will return and we will welcome them. You do not betray your people by saving the Delta Alliance."

"Not so hard to believe, when you hear what I have to tell you. The Council had gathered together, after reports of the unusual activity of the Evolution had reached the High Queen. A Starfleet vessel that suddenly breaks all regulations, and does not give a reasonable explanation for it... that was weird indeed. If any of our own ships had done this, the person in command would already have been escorted to Nygea Delta to stand trial... But where is the captain of the Evolution? Why has he, a stranger to us, not been given the same treatment we would give our own people? Nobody in the Delta Alliance came to back you up in capturing captain Sanchez! Isn't that strange? It seemed as if somehow, he was being protected by powers unseen... someone of a high ranking, and with much influence, must have arranged the Evolution to get away with it this easily... This theory was confirmed when the Council of Representatives was in session... Several species, headed by the Traquel, seemed to speak in the favor of the Evolution! They pleaded for the Evolution, ignoring the regulations that the ship had broken so clearly!"
*He takes a deep breath, and leans back.*
"The Traquel has been in contact with Starfleet before, with Voyager. That meeting may have been the start of a conspiracy between the Traquel and Starfleet. Between that meeting and now, the Traquel has clearly been gaining allies against the Delta Alliance, as several other species have joined them during the discussions at the Council. They seem to defend Starfleet in everything they do, and ignore the regulations that the Delta Alliance was built upon. They have brought our High Queen in a difficult situation now, and we must stand by her!"
*Mentora leans forward.*
"The Traquel have openly declared war on the Delta Alliance now. No doubt, Starfleet has been working on a secret fleet to assist them in this act. They have formed the Traquel Directorate, and several species have joined them, including the Droids and the Nigillians."
*He puts a hand on Ardwyad's shoulder.*
"I'm sorry, it must be hard to hear your own people doing this. But I'm sure they will come to their senses, when they realise this conspiracy is doomed to fail. We must remain loyal to the Delta Alliance, and our primary plan should be to protect the High Queen at all costs. The Delta Alliance will survive this wave of corruption, if we all stand together. And you, Chief Ardwyad, are the most skilled chief I know. I need your help to do this, by making your ship the flagship of the fleet we will raise to defend the borders of the Delta Alliance. Can I count on you?"

"So it has begun. Starfleet is planning a subtle invasion, thinking that two ships will pass unnoticed, but we will show them they were wrong. Turn the ship around, and set a course to meet them!"

This is Mentora speaking, in charge of the Delta Alliance task force fleet in defense of our space against your Federation! Our borders are closed, and you have violated our orders - again - by tresspassing into Delta Alliance territory! I am authorized to destroy any attacking force of Starfleet, but I will be mercifull, and give you a chance to surrender.

"Your welcome touches me, chief Ardwyad. I gladly accept your hospitality."
*They proceed to the meeting room, where they sit down.*
"Allow me to explain what has happened. But I warn you that what I will be telling you, may be shocking. We have discovered that certain members of the Delta Alliance have done acts of high treason against her Majesty the Queen's Alliance. This treason goes as far as the members of the Council themselves, among who several have become corrupted by this military organisation called Starfleet. We have reasons to believe that Starfleet collaborates with the Traquel and Droids, to overthrow the power of the High Queen, and gain control over the Delta Alliance themselves, as dictators."

Mr. Tuarthk, the Queen is already outraged! But not at us! We are here in name of the High Queen herself, to restore safety to the Delta Alliance, and prevent you from conquering our space! So, captain Taurik, we did not attack unprovoked, we only defend what is ours from invaders like you! You have 30 seconds to lower your shields, deactivate your weapons, and surrender to us! Otherwise we will be forced to destroy you, and if we won't do it, then our massive fleet that is currently underway, will do the job for us!
