This is Flag Admiral Vorak speaking. We have recently received word that an attack on Avalon Station is impending. The enemy in this case, is the Na'jigat, a species that exist of pure mental energy and thus are unable to be killed by conventional weapons. Also shields are useless. Read more about the Na'jigat, their strength and weakness, in the database at http://www.expansionfleet.com/cgi-bin/fleet/ikonboard.cgi?act=Page;p=najigat" target="_blank">http://www.expansionfleet.com/cgi-bin....najigat . Thank you.

This is a call for all ships of all divisions, with a request for military assistance to the highest possible degree. Avalon Station is about to be attacked soon, and the impact will be grave. Please send all available ships to Avalon Station. If this station falls, then the position of Starfleet and the Federation in the Delta Quadrant will become unstable.

Any ships arriving at Avalon Station may report their arrival to Avalon Station's Ops here http://www.expansionfleet.com/cgi-bin/fleet/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=78;t=50;r=1" target="_blank">http://www.expansionfleet.com/cgi-bin....=50;r=1 in Avalon Station Operations > Station Ops > topic "The Battle of Avalon".

U.S.S. Valhalla / The Battle of Avalon

=^= Avalon Station to the Fleet =^=
This is Flag Admiral Vorak speaking. I would like to thank all those who have answered our distress call so swiftly, for your presence here at Avalon Station. It takes courage to stand at the frontline, facing an enemy that apparently cannot be defeated, but we cannot stand by and face our own destruction without defending ourselves.

The battle to come may appear hopeless, but it is not. The Gallifreyans have left us with valuable information regarding some weaknesses of the Na'jigat. Since the Na'jigat is unable to travel through space at a speed faster than light, anything related to warp speed can make it a little more difficult for them. But do not misunderstand me here, for any kind of explosions or anti-matter bombs will only fuel the Na'jigat, and make them stronger. They are able to feed of any energy in existence. But light speed can be used to our advantage.

Gather warp particles, which are emmitted by your starships while travelling at warp speed, and use these particles in your shielding and station's structural integrity. I am aware that this is not easy to do, but if your scientists and engineers work together, it may be possible.

Another option is the Soliton Wave, a subspace wave of energy that does not diminish and obtains warp speeds... This could be used to drive back the Na'jigat, and though it will not damage them, it may cause the Na'jigat cloud to disperse and become separate clouds that are therefore less powerful and don't have the ability to communicate with one another.

We have two agents among our ranks of the Order of Gallifrey, including captain Taurik of the U.S.S. Rivendell, who are the only ones able to defeat - though not destroy - the Na'jigat. If we are able to disperse the Na'jigat clouds, making them less powerful, we give Taurik and ambassador Vurak the ability to defeat them more easily.

These are the only options available to fight the Na'jigat. Abandon your phasers, torpedoes or shields. They will be useless to you, and worse, make the enemy even stronger.

Here are my final orders. All the ships will take a battle formation, surrounding Avalon Station. You MUST hold that position as long as possible, and prevent the Na'jigat from breaking through the lines. I appoint three people on Avalon Station to be in charge of the entire operation. Those three people are admiral Montrell, admiral Karelia and Major Embries. Furthermore, I appoint captain Taurik as captain of the fleet, commanding the fleet from space. If communications with Avalon Station break down, you will follow his orders first.

The Na'jigat will most likely be here within a few hours. I want all ships and crew to be prepared. Live long and prosper.

Promenade / Dinner between Vorak and Paris Love
December 20, 2004, 06:08:03 PM
-- Posted by Vorak on 11:36 pm on April 16, 2004

*Vorak and Paris Love enter the Starburst Pub.*
"This appears to be the only dining facility available on this station."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 11:44 pm on April 16, 2004

*Shakes her head while smiling and takes a seat.*
"I think it's a fine establishment, being a bar. I'm curious as to if they have an Earth cheeseburger. I've not had one of those in quite some time. What will you have?"
*Sighs.*
"I must admit, I'm ready to sleep after this tiresome day. Reporters can be quite the workout. I believe bed will be my next destination after this meal."

-- Posted by Vorak on 11:48 pm on April 16, 2004

*Vorak peers at the menu card.*
"I believe I will ask the waiter for their chef's recommendations for a meal."
*Then he puts away the menu card again.*
"Vulcan physiology does not require me to sleep much, though it was not considerate of me to assume the same of you. You are indeed human and require daily sleep. I apologize for my lack of consideration of that logical fact."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 11:53 pm on April 16, 2004

"Oh, it's quite fine. Humans have developed a method of reducing that need of sleep by developing a psychological need of caffeine. Some people consume coffee more than anything else. Ah, but today was just a little hectic with the reporters and the attacks. Some days are just like that, others are slow. No need to apologize."
*Love notices him looking at the menu card.*
"Have you ever sampled an Earth hamburger?""

-- Posted by Vorak on 12:01 am on April 17, 2004

"A large amount of... caffeine, is not healthy for your body system, however. Nor, do I believe, is the typical Earth burger. However, if you recommend that, I believe it would be illogical to assume that one... burger, would kill me."

-- Posted by James Madison on 12:02 am on April 17, 2004

"Madison to Vorak, when you complete your meal we can begin the tour."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 12:07 am on April 17, 2004

*Love slightly smiles.*
"It's nice to know I work with a man that is open to new experiences. That's highly respected where I come from. I do hope it is to your liking."
Waiter/bartender: "What will you be having today?"
"Two Earth cheeseburgers, a side of french fries, and two dr. peppers, if you please."
*Waiter leaves to the replicator in the back, and returns shortly after, with the meal on a platter. He sets it in front of them.*
"Do enjoy."

-- Posted by Vorak on 12:11 am on April 17, 2004

*Vorak stares at the food before him.*
"Quite... unusual."
*He takes a bite of the burger.*
"But acceptable. Thank you, Ms. Love."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 12:17 am on April 17, 2004

*Love eats a few fries collectively while watching him intently. She keeps from laughing a few times at how unusually he consumes his meal.*
"I see you like it... but I wouldn't recommend eating burgers becoming a habitual activity for you... It'll ruin your "girlish figure"."
*Love smiles before taking a bite of her burger and sipping her soda.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 12:21 am on April 17, 2004

"My... girlish... figure?"
*Vorak raises one eyebrow. Then he suddenly realizes that Madison was trying to reach him.*
"Vorak to Mr. Madison, acknowledged. I will inform you when I am ready."
*Then he takes another bite.*
"Human food is not so bad after all, it appears."
-- Posted by Paris Love on 12:30 am on April 17, 2004

*Finishes little more than half her burger before setting it down and rubbing her eyes.*
"I suppose I'll need to get you to experiment with new things."
*Love sips her soda once more.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 12:34 am on April 17, 2004

*Vorak raises an eyebrow again.*
"Please explain your statement."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 12:40 am on April 17, 2004

"Humans often experiment with new things, in hopes of finding something they truly have a passion for. Perhaps if you do the same, you could find something new you'd really enjoy. I often try to be open to new ideas and activities. I've recently learned I enjoy dining with you, you're quite the relaxing company."
*Love sips her soda once more.*
"Why did you invite me to dinner? You've not brought up a subject of business as of yet. What's the occasion?"

-- Posted by Vorak on 12:43 am on April 17, 2004

*Vorak is about to answer, but then holds back and considers his words for a moment, before actually responding to her question.*
"I believe it more appropriate that I dine with you in order to thank you for your assistance, rather than that you should be forced to dine with a stranger."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 12:57 am on April 17, 2004

*Love eyes him for a moment before smiling and sipping her soda once more.*
"I'm afraid I won't be joining you on your tour, I'm dreadfully tired. Hobson said we're free to stay in the guest suites, correct?"

-- Posted by Vorak on 1:04 am on April 17, 2004

"I understand. It would be unreasonable for me to ask you to join on the tour as well. Shall I make certain your quarters are secure, for in case the Ferengi attack again?"

-- Posted by Paris Love on 1:09 am on April 17, 2004

"If you feel that is necessary. Well, it's slumber for me, have you had your fill and ready to go?"
*Love yawns and stretches slightly.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 1:14 am on April 17, 2004

*Vorak finishes his drink.*
"I believe my stomach is quite full, thank you. Do you wish me to accompany you to your quarters?"

-- Posted by Paris Love on 1:17 am on April 17, 2004

"That'd be most gentleman like, and much appreciated."
*She stands and enters the turbolift with him.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 1:20 am on April 17, 2004

"Very well. And in case of any problems, please do not hesitate to call on me."
*The turbolift doors open again and before them is a corridor with several crew quarters.*

-- Posted by Paris Love on 1:26 am on April 17, 2004

*Begins to head out the door before stopping and turning.*
"Thank you for your company, it was wonderful. Is there anything you need before I go to bed, admiral?"

-- Posted by Vorak on 1:35 am on April 17, 2004

"All I would ask is that you remain safely within these quarters, in case the station would be under attack again."
*The doors to the quarters open.*
"Computer, secure these quarters level 8, high priority security, authorization Vorak-Delta."
Computer: "Acknowledged."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 1:43 am on April 17, 2004

"....Sir, level 8, are you certa—"
Vorak: "Please, Ms. Love. Level 8 would be necessary in this case."
*Smiles bashfully.*
"No matter, mind that you have a couple of meetings early in the morning and you'd be ill advised to stay up late. Please get some sleep when able."

-- Posted by Vorak on 1:47 am on April 17, 2004

"It is illogical to worry about my sleep, I am able to stay awake for several more days, in fact. However, I shall remember your advice. Thank you, and may you sleep well."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 1:53 am on April 17, 2004

*Nods.*
"Of course. Good eve. Rouse me at 0600 hours if I haven't already, if you please."
*Enters and closes the door.*
Computer: "Level 8 security engaged."
*She undoes her hair, undresses partially, and turns out the lights to sleep.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 1:57 am on April 17, 2004

*Vorak stands before the closed door for some moments. Then he takes a deep breath and frowns, but immediately regains his Vulcan composure as he hears someone coming near walking by, and taps his commbadge.*
"Vorak to Madison, I am ready for the tour around the station."

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 3:14 pm on April 17, 2004

*8 of 12 walks into the corridor just then.*
"So you are the leader of this fleet. As you humans always say, it is an honor to meet you."

-- Posted by James Madison on 3:16 pm on April 17, 2004

"Ah, well then, admiral, if you're ready, we can go to engineering for the first part of the tour. A new crew-member, 8 of 12 having the Borg implants removed, is joining the future Excalibur crew."

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 3:18 pm on April 17, 2004

"If you don't mind, I'll join the tour."

-- Posted by James Madison on 3:20 pm on April 17, 2004

"You may join, though you might want to remain in engineering to work with colonel Williams and majors Green and Embries. That reminds me, I've not seen Embries for a while. Anyone know were he is?"

-- Posted by Mark Green on 8:11 pm on April 17, 2004

"Major Embries is a very busy man, admiral."

Promenade / Guest Quarters
December 20, 2004, 06:50:33 PM
-- Posted by Mark Green on 8:35 pm on April 18, 2004

*Meanwhile, Green walked up to the guest quarter's door and pressed the knock button. A warning chime sounded.*
"Caution, only level 8 access or higher. Security teams will be dispatched in 10, 9..."
"Override authorization, Green Alpha 11."
*The standard door knocker sounded.*

-- Posted by Paris Love on 8:40 pm on April 18, 2004

*Sits up abruptly.*
"Six already?"
*Still half asleep, she rises, unaware of what she's wearing, and opens the door, sleepy-eyed and nappy haired.*
"Major Green? How may I help you?"

-- Posted by Mark Green on 8:42 pm on April 18, 2004

*Shielding his eyes, he says.*
"Err... Ms. Love, I thought you might like that drink, but I see you are inappropriately dressed."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 8:45 pm on April 18, 2004

"Oh... I completely forgot, I apologize. What time is it?"

-- Posted by Mark Green on 8:49 pm on April 18, 2004

"Erm... eleven hundred, I thought you would be awake by now, I am sorry for waking you."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 9:12 pm on April 18, 2004

"No trouble. Please, let me get dressed and I'll join you."
*She closes the door and returns moments later, dressed and groomed, and exits her quarters with him.*

-- Posted by Mark Green on 7:10 pm on April 19, 2004

"Actually, Paris, the pub is quite busy with the visits. It would be quieter at my quarters."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 12:15 am on April 20, 2004

*As they enter Green's quarters little later, Love's gaze shifts to various places around the room, from the neatly made bed, to the collection of action figures on one shelf, from his childhood. She stands idly in the front room, still looking around, while he shuts the door behind them.*
"Quite homey... reminds me of my younger brother's room."

-- Posted by Mark Green on 7:00 pm on April 20, 2004

"Well, I do like to remember my childhood, while still focusing on the present, what would you like to drink?"

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 7:40 pm on April 20, 2004

*Door rings, and 8 waits for a response.*

-- Posted by Mark Green on 8:39 pm on April 20, 2004

*Opens the door.*
"Yes 8, what is it? I'm in the middle of something private."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 11:54 pm on April 20, 2004

*Love takes a seat at his small dining table and waits patiently as he answers the door.*

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 11:09 am on April 21, 2004

"Well, I wanted to know if you could assist me in constructing the new anti-Borg weapon."
*Sees love sitting on a chair.*
"But it seems like you are busy at the moment. I'm sorry for my interruption."

-- Posted by Mark Green on 7:53 pm on April 21, 2004

"Yes, I will help you when I return to duty."
*Turns to Love as the door closes.*
"So, Paris, you never told me why I had to use my access code to stop security from arresting me."
*Laughs and sips his synthehol ale.*

-- Posted by Paris Love on 11:33 pm on April 21, 2004

"Ah, yes. Admiral Vorak set that security. He said it was for in case there is another attack, or even breech on the station. I'm not certain as to why he set the exact level he did, but being Vulcan, I'm sure he saw reason for it. I try not to question him too much. Although, I must admit, I am a bit curious."

-- Posted by Mark Green on 5:15 pm on April 22, 2004

"So how did you end up being admiral Vorak's personal assistant?"

-- Posted by Paris Love on 11:41 pm on April 22, 2004

"I was tired of the academy, it was too slow for me. I went to him directly to ask for a position, even as an ensign. He declined me, because of my dropout, but he offered me this job instead. And... although it isn't technically being a Starfleet officer, I still get the experiences I had hoped for out of this job. I'm associating with other officers, I even get to do some of the officer's jobs myself. Last night in ops was quite exciting."

-- Posted by Mark Green on 12:04 pm on April 24, 2004

"The academy, too slow? I'm surprised you didn't apply for an NCO position, and then work up to a warrant officer."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 4:52 pm on April 24, 2004

*Love shakes her head with a smile.*
"No, not for me. Besides, I'm happy with this job."

-- Posted by Mark Green on 4:59 pm on April 24, 2004

"You never said what you wanted to drink."
*He walks up to the replicator, but at that moment the comm. panel rings. Mark presses it, and Weasly Cook's voice is heard.*
"Admiral Vorak is in the lab, sir."
"Perhaps we should head there, Paris, and join the tour."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 11:19 pm on April 25, 2004

"Oh, quite right. I suppose it is best that I rejoin with admiral Vorak."
*She stands up, puts on her white coat, and exits out the front door.*

-- Posted by James Madison on 10:19 pm on April 12, 2004

*Meanwhile, on board Freedom Station, Madison enters Stardust Pub with the guests. Many waiters come and stand. They have dishes with them.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 10:23 pm on April 12, 2004

"Fascinating. I am honored by your gracious welcome."

-- Posted by Embries on 10:23 pm on April 12, 2004

"Ohh, indeed, indeed!"

-- Posted by Tom Hobson on 10:24 pm on April 12, 2004

*Hobson motions the guests to sit, as waiters bring many types of meat, Vulcan cuisine, and as far as Klingon and Romulan food.*
"What shall we drink to?"
-- Posted by GaryFisher on 10:25 pm on April 12, 2004

"Yes, it is a fine place, the pub."
*Many steaming plates of meat for the officers were set. and some Vulcan meals as well. Andorian ale was poured.*
"Well, now, major, have you heard of the SSF-Alamo, Defiant class? Just finished building her. Transwarp drive. Built by commander Marcus Brodie, using Borg technology."

-- Posted by James Madison on 10:26 pm on April 12, 2004

*Sits down.*
"Admiral, I wanted to hear your thoughts on the Ferengi wars."
*Madison took a piece of meat and began to eat.*

-- Posted by Tom Hobson on 10:28 pm on April 12, 2004

"Yes, regarding the ship, the Excalibur, I look at it in its large importance, being that it is, for as far as I know, the first Excalibur class ship."

-- Posted by James Madison on 10:29 pm on April 12, 2004

"Yes, she's one large bird. It should take some time for Gary's crew to build her."

-- Posted by Mark Green on 10:31 pm on April 12, 2004

"Yes, indeed, admiral, it is an interesting project. I am hoping to get input from major Embries as to what he wants to be put into the ship design."

-- Posted by Tom Hobson on 10:32 pm on April 12, 2004

"Yes, that is why I invited you here, major Embries, I wanted the input of the best minds. Tell me, who is the engineering chief at SS Avalon? I will attempt to meet with him, or he may want to come all the way here!"

-- Posted by GaryFisher on 10:34 pm on April 12, 2004

"Yes, who would you say are the best minds in engineering, admiral Vorak?"

-- Posted by Embries on 10:35 pm on April 12, 2004

*Embries sits down and puts his staff by his side against the table.*
"Ah, a seat at last! I have been standing on my old legs for too many hours today. I would greatly enjoy a Raktajino now, if you happen to have that in stock."

-- Posted by GaryFisher on 10:37 pm on April 12, 2004

"I'm not sure that we do, major, we still have some drinks to get. Is there another drink you want? A favorite of mine is some old earth ale."

-- Posted by James Madison on 10:39 pm on April 12, 2004

*Madison looked at Vorak as he thought about the Ferengi war.*

-- Posted by Mark Green on 10:41 pm on April 12, 2004

"I'll have an ale if you are buying, admiral."

-- Posted by GaryFisher on 10:42 pm on April 12, 2004

*Fisher laughed.*
"You can have some, but money doesn't exist. This is a Starfleet pub."
*A waiter pours ale into Green's cup.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 10:45 pm on April 12, 2004

"I am certain that in our fleets, there are many good engineers. I know that Mr. Detrell aboard Avalon Station is a very qualified one."

-- Posted by GaryFisher on 10:46 pm on April 12, 2004

"I would like to meet him sometime. The Rivendell is a Avalon ship, I know. What are the chances of getting on board and meeting him in person?"

-- Posted by Embries on 10:46 pm on April 12, 2004

"No Raktajino? How unfortunate... then I will take whatever you may recommend."
-- Posted by Mark Green on 10:46 pm on April 12, 2004

*Laughs*
"I was only joking, admiral, imagine using money to control an economy, we were once savages."
*Takes a long draught of his ale.*
"Ah, nectar of the gods."

-- Posted by James Madison on 10:48 pm on April 12, 2004

"The starburst ale is the best. I wonder how Detrell would react to our building a transwarp reactor for the Excalibur."

-- Posted by GaryFisher on 10:53 pm on April 12, 2004

"No reporters on the station it seems. All the better for us to get around. And god knows, what if they were here and we went to battle."

-- Posted by Mark Green on 10:56 pm on April 12, 2004

*Laughs*
"It would be almost as bad as the Ferengi war!"

-- Posted by GaryFisher on 11:03 pm on April 12, 2004

"Not hardly, these Ferengi have Klingon and Romulan support. And some sort of either stolen Borg technology or a weird Borg relation."

-- Posted by Vorak on 11:07 pm on April 12, 2004

*Vorak raises one eyebrow.*
"A transwarp reactor. Of Borg design, or original Starfleet design?"

-- Posted by Mark Green on 11:07 pm on April 12, 2004

"Then it is indeed imperative that the Excalibur class of ships are as good as can be."

-- Posted by James Madison on 11:09 pm on April 12, 2004

"Borg. Commander Brodie used Borg, because there isn't a Starfleet design to go by. But for the Excalibur, vice admiral Fisher is going to make some changes to call it 'Starfleet'."

-- Posted by Mark Green on 11:09 pm on April 12, 2004

"Of adapted Borg design indeed, flag admiral, it was created by the engineer of the Aztec."

-- Posted by GaryFisher on 11:11 pm on April 12, 2004

"Yes, the former engineer. He is now the XO. But yes, he received a medal for his work."

-- Posted by Tom Hobson on 11:29 pm on April 12, 2004

"Well, a slow start to the first day, but no rush. We will begin touring tomorrow, excuse me for now, I must report to the operations deck and get a status on the patrols for Ferengi, somehow I fear the Rivendell will get caught in the middle of a battle."
*He then pushed his chair forward and headed to the turbolift.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 12:33 am on April 13, 2004

"Borg design. Quite intriguing. I look forward to see the schematics."

-- Posted by dutchman36 on 9:31 am on April 13, 2004

"Dutchman to Hobson. We completed most of the repairs and we're in fighting condition."

-- Posted by Mark Green on 10:48 am on April 13, 2004

*Taps communicator.*
"Captain Dutchman this is Major Green, you just missed admiral Hobson, try contacting the ops deck."

-- Posted by dutchman36 on 2:37 pm on April 13, 2004

=^= Yes sir. =^=

-- Posted by Weasly Cook on 3:46 pm on April 13, 2004

*Walks over to the table.*
"Fleet admiral Vorak, it is a pleasure to meet the head of Expansion Fleet. I must say it's been pretty exciting, sir. Also I must say, I never thought that we would be at war with the Ferengi. Just hope that no Borg decide to visit. Anyway, it's a great honor to meet you in person."

-- Posted by Vorak on 4:41 pm on April 13, 2004

"This unexpected Ferengi war troubles me much indeed, Mr. Cook. Certainly some peaceful negotiations must be possible."

-- Posted by Embries on 4:42 pm on April 13, 2004

"Negotiations? With the Ferengi? Pfff! If you take enough shiny latinum bars with you, perhaps!"

-- Posted by Vorak on 4:44 pm on April 13, 2004

*Vorak raises an eyebrow at Embries.*
"Major, the possibility of peaceful solutions should never be excluded. Starfleet is an institution of peace, not of war."

-- Posted by Embries on 4:45 pm on April 13, 2004

"Hmm... I suppose you're right, admiral. But I know one species nobody can negotiate with..."
*His voice trails off as it seems for a moment, as if he remembers some very old and faded memories.*
"Ah, never mind me, let's talk about more pleasant things, shall we?"

-- Posted by Steven Cruse on 7:09 pm on April 13, 2004

"I am sorry for being late, admirals..... It is a great honor having such a prestigious man onboard our station."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 7:21 pm on April 13, 2004

*Love enters the pub, tapping various things into her planner.*
"Admiral Vorak, there's a reporter outside requesting an interview, would you care to acknowledge and schedule one later?"
*Looks around at several of the men gathered for the meal.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 7:25 pm on April 13, 2004

"Another reporter? Very well, after the dinner I may answer a few short questions. And greetings, Mr. Cruse, it is an honor to meet you all too."

-- Posted by Weasly Cook on 7:29 pm on April 13, 2004

"Yes I hope we can achieve peaceful ends without more deaths.. But what comes, comes, and we must be ready for anything, sir. Mr. Embries, I don't want to be rude, but I didn't catch what race you were. So if you can, may I know, sir? If not, that's fine too, sir. Also, can I sit with you, or are only higher ups allowed."
*Laughs a little.*

-- Posted by Paris Love on 7:36 pm on April 13, 2004

*Love nods to him and exits out the locked door. As it is opened, several reporters attempt to push their way in, but they're held out as she exits. The door closes behind her and the calm atmosphere is restored.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 7:44 pm on April 13, 2004

*Vorak raises an eyebrow as he glances at the drumming reporters before the doors close.*
"Very well. You said, Mr. Cook?"

-- Posted by Embries on 7:47 pm on April 13, 2004

"My species is called the Erendir. I originate from a planet near the Galaxy Core, far away from here, but my homeworld was destroyed by... ehm, a terrible great force, when I was a young child, some thousands of years ago. I have survived, though I fear I may be the only one of my race left."

-- Posted by Galon on 7:48 pm on April 13, 2004

"I'll have a small security team guard the entrance, so the unwanted reporters won't disturb this dinner date."

-- Posted by Weasly Cook on 7:51 pm on April 13, 2004

"I was saying that I do hope we can come about it by peace. But if needs be, we will fight to the end, right, sir?"
*After taking a few breaths, he continued.*
"If it won't be too much to ask, may I join you here at the table, or should I wait until later to ask more questions?"

-- Posted by Vorak on 8:44 pm on April 13, 2004

"I have no objection, Mr. Cook, if the others do not either. And indeed, if necessary, we will fight to the end, though peace is always preferred above war."

-- Posted by James Madison on 8:46 pm on April 13, 2004

"We may begin the tour now, admiral. Dinner is ended. If you would follow us out, we will visit engineering first."

Research Center / A guided tour with Flag Admiral Vorak
December 20, 2004, 06:37:43 PM
-- Posted by Tom Hobson on 2:32 pm on April 25, 2004

*Hobson and Vorak enter the research center.*
"You will find that we made this, to have more than a normal old science department. More controls, monitors, even a whole wall devoted to ship design layouts. Several weapons and ship upgrades, it is currently doing more of an engineering science, concerning the Excalibur."

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 2:43 pm on April 25, 2004

"Sir, together with Mr. Williams, we have designed special anti-Borg weapons and shields. 75% of the tests were successful."

-- Posted by James Madison on 4:11 pm on April 25, 2004

"Ah, I am sure vice admiral Fisher will be interested to hear the findings, when he returns."

-- Posted by Vorak on 4:47 pm on April 25, 2004

"It is indeed a very large project, one of the largest I have ever seen to be undertaken in the Delta Quadrant this far."

-- Posted by James Madison on 4:53 pm on April 25, 2004

"A very big step for new technology. All you see here, is for the Excalibur. The newest anti-Borg weapons, and other things are going to be worked on. Mostly when admiral Fisher returns. And I expect it to have the longest mission of all Delta Quadrant ships as well, as it will be going on a regular warp path into the Delta Quadrant, to make way for all of our ships to clear a path into the other divisions. As of now, only the Alamo can make it. As it is, it's the only fitted with transwarp, though the Excalibur will have it too now. Mr. Fisher suggested not to use it. Due to the size of the ship, the reactor would have to be all the bigger. And it barely fits inside an Akira, when it was once on the Aztec."

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 6:56 pm on April 25, 2004

"Sir, the size of a transwarp reactor doesn't matter, the Borg have reactors smaller then a standard warp core."

-- Posted by James Madison on 7:19 pm on April 25, 2004

"I am aware of the ship's sizes. Though as you did not know, the Alamo gave up much space for its reactor. Losing most of engineering and the regular warp cores power. Captain Brodie made it using Borg technology, but mostly a new design."

DS20 Engineering Station / The Excalibur construction
December 20, 2004, 06:10:34 PM
-- Posted by Vorak on 9:21 pm on April 18, 2004

*On Freedom station, Vorak enters the engineering section.*
"Fascinating."

-- Posted by Embries on 9:22 pm on April 18, 2004

*At that moment, Embries appears.*
"Ah, good to see you again, admiral. I have been around and about all over the station here, it's quite fascinating. So, where can I be of help next?"

-- Posted by James Madison on 9:25 pm on April 18, 2004

"You can remain here and assist colonel Williams. As you can see, admiral, the body of the Excalibur is under work right now, the inside is still under research. The ship will have great speed to move its massive body, because the size of the nacelles are those of an Excelsior class starship."

-- Posted by Embries on 9:28 pm on April 18, 2004

"I certainly will do so. I find this a most fascinating project! Admiral Vorak, we should have more of such projects at Avalon too, in the future!"
*Embries returns to colonel Williams and helps him with calibrating some systems.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 9:30 pm on April 18, 2004

"And this project is 100% safe, I assume?"

-- Posted by James Madison on 9:33 pm on April 18, 2004

"Yes of course, vice admiral Fisher puts safety as a first. Transwarp has been tested more than once, and is already in the Alamo."

-- Posted by Vorak on 9:36 pm on April 18, 2004

*Vorak walks over to some wall panels and screens and observes the blueprints displayed on there. He pushes some buttons to get other displays, and then nodds.*
"A solid project, indeed."

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 1:54 pm on April 19, 2004

"Ah there you are, admiral Madison, I completed a structural integrity field generator that will make sure the Excalibur can use the reactor unlimited."

-- Posted by Vorak on 6:01 pm on April 19, 2004

"Most magnificent indeed. When is it expected to be ready for launch?"

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 7:13 pm on April 19, 2004

"I do not know, but you should ask Mr. Williams for that. Now if you would excuse me, I would like to start with the transwarp upgrades."
*Walks towards a console and starts imputing data, then turns around.*
"And sir, I would like to be involved in these kinds of projects in the future, if I may. I am, as you humans say, "interested" in this."

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 7:27 pm on April 19, 2004

"Admiral, as you can see, the exterior is done, but this ship has much more work to be done still. I have all my teams working 'round the clock and should have a launch date before long. Sir, I would like to add that many of this ship's systems would not be possible without the help of 8 of 12 and majors Green and Embries. Major Green, have you finished the scans of the new hull plaiting?"

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 7:32 pm on April 19, 2004

"Thank you, sir, it was a nice experience working with you too."

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 7:33 pm on April 19, 2004

"I would also like an upgrade to the torpedo tubes, so they can handle more transphasic torpedoes with less stress on the tubes, if anyone has any ideas."

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 7:34 pm on April 19, 2004

"I could do that, but it's too complicated to explain how."

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 7:37 pm on April 19, 2004

"Please feel free to do so. Thank you."

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 7:40 pm on April 19, 2004

*Walks toward the console and starts the modifications.*

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 7:41 pm on April 19, 2004

"8 of 12, is there any way to make a cloak work against the Borg?"

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 7:45 pm on April 19, 2004

"Well, for as far as I know, the Borg can penetrate cloaks, but we could use a mirror effect so that their sensors will be reflected. That's all I can come up with."

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 8:34 pm on April 19, 2004

"The Borg would adapt, no doubt. Aha, instead of a regular warp core, we could use a quantum induction core as is used on the Phoenix class test ships."

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 8:19 am on April 20, 2004

"Sounds interesting."

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 7:18 pm on April 20, 2004

"8 of 12, do you think that it would be possible to jam a Borg ship's link to the hive?"

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 7:28 pm on April 20, 2004

"Not without disabling the central plexus, which is located in the center of each Borg vessel."

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 8:21 pm on April 20, 2004

"Again thank you for the info. You are always helpful."

-- Posted by Steven Cruse on 9:44 pm on April 20, 2004

"Colonel, I am afraid phase cloaking is still a form of cloaking, and due to the treaty of Algeron, the Federation will not use cloaks. Even though I think the treaty is fragile, we still have to go by it as long as we are allied with the Klingons."

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 12:59 pm on April 21, 2004

"Mr. Williams, I finished the torpedo tube adjustments. Each tube should be able to fire ten transphasic torpedoes in 30 seconds."

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 6:34 pm on April 21, 2004

"Good, good, we are almost ready install the science stations. You know, 8, I will miss your helping hand when you leave with the ship. If you need me, I will be in my office. Thank you."

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 6:35 pm on April 21, 2004

*Suddenly 8 falls down on the ground and faints.*

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 6:38 pm on April 21, 2004

*Williams runs over to 8 of 12's side and tries to revive her.*

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 6:40 pm on April 21, 2004

*She opens her eyes and says "you need to get doctor Sisqo" and she faints again.*

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 6:41 pm on April 21, 2004

"Computer, emergency transport, two to sickbay."
*Williams and 8 beam to sickbay.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 4:59 pm on April 22, 2004

*Vorak raises an eyebrow and turns to the admirals that accompany him during his tour.*
"Shall we continue the tour? Perhaps sickbay could be our next stop."

-- Posted by Weasly Cook on 7:46 pm on April 22, 2004

*Enters to see how the labs were coming along, and mumbles under breath.*
"Now, Cook, you really need to find out the lab completions... but if they say tuesday just once, I'm...."
*Stops when seeing Vorak, salutes and then says.*
"Admiral, I didn't see you there, it's an honor to meet you again, sir. If you have any questions, either wait for Green, or just ask me, though I'm just new to the project, sir."
*He then looks around then turns back to Vorak.*
"Where is Embries? I had a question for him."

-- Posted by James Madison on 11:07 pm on April 22, 2004

"Sickbay has a medical emergency at the moment. I think it would be best not to go there for now. And other troubles were reported, coming from the patient in sickbay. There is nothing more to tour that you haven't been in, you have seen the pub, ops, all of that. The research center is the only thing left. If you're not leaving soon, we can step down there."

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 12:16 am on April 23, 2004

*Colonel Williams enters the room.*
"I would like to know where we stand, Mr. Cook."

-- Posted by Weasly Cook on 2:15 pm on April 23, 2004

"On what, sir?"

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 2:34 pm on April 23, 2004

"I want this ship ready to launch in 2 weeks!"

-- Posted by Weasly Cook on 4:21 pm on April 23, 2004

"Yes, sir, I'll work harder. In fact, I just learned that all labs were completed an hour ago, and we're starting on the last bits. Should be ready by tuesday in 2 weeks." *Chuckles.* "Little builder humor. To be honest, she be ready when she's ready, and no sooner. You can't rush these things, sir."

-- Posted by Bill Williams on 5:56 pm on April 23, 2004

"I will have the rest of this ship ready to go in 2 weeks, and I would like have her ready to go at that time, Mr. Cook."
-- Posted by Weasly Cook on 8:00 pm on April 23, 2004

"Aye, sir, I'll start on the final things, like testing sensors and even the holodeck. But first things first, the crew quarters, sir."
*Turns and heads into the ship to personally help finish.*

-- Posted by Vorak on 8:52 pm on April 23, 2004

*Vorak raises an eyebrow.*
"Mr. Madison, logic dictates that it is more useful for our time, to actually visit sickbay at a moment it is most active, rather than at a time when there are no patients. It would not be half as interesting to visit engineering, if no project such as this one, or any other activity, was going on at this moment."

-- Posted by Tom Hobson on 8:57 pm on April 23, 2004

"To sickbay then. Perhaps you can meet Dr. Sisqo there."

-- Posted by James Madison on 8:58 pm on April 23, 2004

"As you wish, though it is not exactly the best of cases. Dr. Sisqo recently transferred here. We can see his first work."

-- Posted by Embries on 9:00 pm on April 23, 2004

*Embries brings in spare parts he had just assembled.*
"Here, this should work far more efficient for the beta-matrix part. Anyone called for me?"

-- Posted by Vorak on 9:01 pm on April 23, 2004

"It would be most fascinating to see your doctor's first experience."
*Vorak heads toward the door to head to sickbay.*

"Major, I am the officer in charge of the Excalibur Project. Major Green is who you're here to meet, but me too."

-- Posted by Tom Hobson on 10:07 pm on April 12, 2004

*Hobson walks to Embries, smiling.*
"Welcome to Deep Space 20, major! Shall we begin the tour, flag admiral? Or would you like to eat first?"

-- Posted by James Madison on 10:08 pm on April 12, 2004

"Welcome. Do you wish to have the tour with the amiral?"

-- Posted by Embries on 10:12 pm on April 12, 2004

-- Posted by GaryFisher on 10:14 pm on April 12, 2004

"You can come on the tour and remain in engineering or science, if you wish. Engineering is where the construction is located. Science has a place for you, you will see."

-- Posted by Tom Hobson on 10:14 pm on April 12, 2004

"It may work better to go to the pub first, that way we can discuss things before we show you. I am sure you all will want to know more about the Excalibur Project."

-- Posted by Mark Green on 10:15 pm on April 12, 2004

"It is entirely up to you, major, but I was hoping you would help me decide on what the design of the science stations of an Excalibur class ship would be, but I can understand if you don't want to start work straight away."
*Mark extends his hand to major Embries.*

"Very well, if you will follow me, the Starburst Pub is not far from here."

"It is a great honor to meet you. Let us follow the others toward the pub. To be honest, I'm quite hungry myself."
*He grabs his staff, and stumbles onwards.*

-- Posted by Paris Love on 10:53 pm on April 14, 2004

*On Freedom Station's ops, Love stands and approaches Admiral Vorak.*
"What do you desire to do now, sir?"

-- Posted by dutchman36 on 7:16 am on April 15, 2004

"Aztec to Freedom, we captured a Ferengi ship, we put their leader in our brig. We are underway to deliver him to you. That the Klingons, Romulans and Ferengi have turned their backs on us, and most of our ships  have heavy damage. I know this isn't my place to say that, but couldn't we ask the Cardassians or Dominion for help?"

-- Posted by Steven Cruse on 3:52 pm on April 15, 2004

"The Dominion are in Gamma Quadrant, we are in Alpha. If you would like to wait 70 years for help, be my guest, and last I knew, relations with the Cardassians weren't going so well. So our only hope is Bajor, Talarians and other races within Federation Territory. If we can get a hold of the Delta Alliance, we can probably have them help us, if the aren't too busy with the Borg."

-- Posted by Vorak on 4:45 pm on April 15, 2004

"A ship of the Delta Alliance recently docked at Avalon Station for an official ambassadorial visit."

-- Posted by Steven Cruse on 4:46 pm on April 15, 2004

-- Posted by Galon on 10:21 pm on April 15, 2004

"Reporting in, sir."

-- Posted by Paris Love on 2:00 am on April 16, 2004

"Then do you wish to return to HQ after a night's stay and the tour they offered?"

-- Posted by Vorak on 4:43 pm on April 16, 2004

"That would be the logical course of action indeed, Ms. Love, assuming that this area of space is safe again for the journey back. Please excuse me, Mr. Cruse wishes to speak to me in his office. I will return shortly."
*And he walks into the office.*

-- Posted by Paris Love on 4:55 pm on April 16, 2004

"Mr. Madison, do you deem travel in this area secure for Admiral Vorak, or do you ask that we wait to leave?"

-- Posted by 8 of 12 on 5:00 pm on April 16, 2004

"Why are you humans always so emotional?"

-- Posted by Mark Green on 8:50 pm on April 16, 2004

"Permission to return to my research centre, admiral"
*Gets up from console and walks over to Ms. Love. Speaking quietly he says.*
"I go off duty in 15 minutes. Before admiral Vorak goes on to his tour, would you like to go to Starburst for a drink?"

-- Posted by Paris Love on 10:19 pm on April 16, 2004

*Love gives him an odd look.*
"Let me check with admiral Vorak, I believe he wished for me to accompany him. But yes, if I'm not otherwise busy."

-- Posted by Vorak on 10:31 pm on April 16, 2004

"Aitlu-fam. Etek Ak-dahk?"

-- Posted by Vorak on 10:49 pm on April 16, 2004

"I see. Very well."
*Vorak turns to the admirals.*
"Admirals, if you would excuse me. If my presence here is not required for the moment, I would like to take a break and take some... private time, with my assistant."

*Major Green looks between Paris Love and admiral Vorak, then mutters something under his breath, making sure he is quiet enough so that even Vulcans cannot hear him. He then gets in the turbolift and heads to star nova.*

*Vorak speaks to Paris Love.*
"Etek-aitlu aru-yem?"
*Then he looks up at major Green as he heads toward the turbolift.*
"I heard that, major."

*Mark Green looks shocked, but as he goes to apologize the turbolift doors shut.*

"I'd enjoy that after this day. Where did you wish to go?"
*Love whips out her planner and cancels the scheduled interview with a very nosey reporter.*

"Certainly this fine station has a restaurant facility?"

-- Posted by Paris Love on 11:33 pm on April 16, 2004

"Certainly. People have to eat. Your question should rather be, where it is."
*Stands and enters the turbolift, motioning him to follow.*
"I don't imagine it'd be too hard to find. Come with me."

-- Posted by Vorak on 11:35 pm on April 16, 2004

"Very well."
*Vorak follows Paris Love toward the turbolift.*

"Certainly, the Starburst Pub is a great place to meet the people of the station, and have a good meal, located on the main habitat sector of the station."

U.S.S. Ares / Mission 3: StarPhoenix Resupply
November 07, 2004, 10:56:44 AM
OFF: I take it that this ship isn't coming along. There's no problem with that, though, the Tiberon will do just fine in the Loxian battle. Maybe the Ares could jump in the story later on, after the Loxian battle, when the Starphoenix reconstruction mission begins.

U.S.S. Tiberon / Mission 12: The Battle of Avalon
November 04, 2005, 06:47:12 AM
Jeff paced back and forth crossing his arms and holding his chin in thought

"All stations report ready!"

He panned around the room at the crew
"Run diagnostics where needed.  And run battle drills."

He sat down again worrying about the station
"Whats our ETA?" As he said that he remembered that his brother was probaly at Avalon Station "Tom, isn't your Brother stationed there?"
