Messages - Will Karelia

#16
The posting style in this finale is one that we've never used before. In the past, each ship had it's own forum, where it's crews would be separated from one another, and this stopped anyone from getting confused as to who belonged where.

However, for this final venture, we are combining the posts into one forum. This would undoubtedly cause confusion, having many members serving on many ships in different situations. So, we ask that, for all posts in the finale, an opening descriptor of your character's location be added to every post. For instance, if Admiral Karelia were onboard the Evolution, my post would begin like this:

Quote
Fleet Admiral William Karelia - Bridge, U.S.S. Evolution

Karelia lifted himself from the floor, sore after being slammed in the back by a falling bulkhead...

...and so on. As you might notice, I added my character's name as well, and while this is even more helpful, it's not required.

All in all, this will help us determine what characters are located where, because we'll no longer have the name of the current forum to help guide us.

Thanks,
Will Karelia

"Another galaxy? I'm not sure whether to congratulate you on your journey, or to extend my condolences. I'm afraid it's beyond our means to organize a return trip."

Will looked up from one of his reports. "I see, Captain," he said.

He then looked to the civilian woman, who was dressed in rather loose brown robes. "And to whom do I owe the pleasure, Miss...?"

"I have news from the Gallifreyan council. They have asked me to dispatch a Starfleet ship, yours specifically, to perform a special task for them. Normally, I would be a little set off by them treating us like their subordinates, but the task seemed beneficial to both parties."

"They want you to infiltrate an enemy space station, and retrieve a certain datacore, one containing the fleet movements for the entire Heraani armada on the front lines. There's one catch... the target is on Hera itself."

"True, we wouldn't want you to make a blind jump, likely ending up in blank space. In any case, you're welcome to remain with us as long as you wish. I'll have Security assign you a passport, that'll allow you to travel anywhere in Federation space without incident."

The admiral shifted his attention to the captain standing silently near the door. "Captain, may I speak with you a moment? I believe you'll find what I have to say most... interesting."

(OFF: Sorry for the late post. Christmas rush at work, so I could only post in the most important areas.)

Will stood from his chair and extended his hand across the desk. "Will Karelia," he said. "The pleasure is all mine."

Operation: REBORN / Roll Call

I'll do what I can, but between work and my family, I don't know how much I'll be able to do. I've got a couple of links up on other websites, but I don't know if they're doing a ton of good.

Interesting story about name origin... I came up with Taurik off the top of my head... only later did I see a TNG episode with a Vulcan of the same name! So after that, I integrated the real Taurik's past into my character, and then went from there.

(OFF: There was no insult, there was a joke. But I was just clearing up misconceptions. Admiral can command Starfleet Marines, just as Generals can command Starfleet Navy.)

(OFF: He's got you, Balk. Marines are not seperate from Starfleet, that's like saying US Marines are not part of the US military. And Navy or Marine, a Vice Admiral could tell you to lick the ground and you had best do it. Not that he would http://www.expansionfleet.com/ikonboard/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> )

U.S.S. Iroquois / Mission 3: "Resistance is Futile"
March 21, 2008, 12:00:07 AM
---===Important Message from Expansion Fleet Administration===---

We are beginning the final mission of the current Expansion Fleet story arc, and this mission will conclude the events that have been building for the past few years, some of which began at the launch of Expansion Fleet. This mission will yield an end to the Heraan War, and will be concluding the events of the entire game.

This gives us a unique opportunity, one that we've not explored before, nor have most of the Star Trek RPG's out there. We are going to be starting a new "series" of sorts, in much the same way a new Star Trek series precedes the last. This will give everyone the opportunity to start fresh, with all new characters, new backstories, and new sub-plots. We will even be introducing a new region of space, a new Starfleet space station, and an entirely new fleet.

For the duration of the final mission, due to the extremely cooperative nature of such a finale, we will be combining the posts of all four ships, as well as those of the Starbase Avalon personnel, into a single forum, to alleviate the need to read several forums at once. This mission is to be contained in it's own forum, located at the top of the list of Expansion Fleet vessels we are all familiar with. The new forum will move no one from their previous situations, but will direct them toward the goings-on of this finale. I will be posting a list of guidelines necessary in such a forum, please read those first before posting.

The new forum for the finale is located here: http://www.expansionfleet.com/cgi-bin/fleet/ikonboard.cgi?act=SF;f=308" target='_blank'>http://www.expansionfleet.com/cgi-bin....F;f=308

Thanks,

U.S.S. Iroquois / Mission 1: "Here Comes The Cavalry"
December 29, 2006, 03:20:02 AM
A boatswain's whistle chimes on the bridge, indicating a Starfleet comm channel being opened. Admiral Karelia's face appeared on the screen.

"Good morning. Five minutes ago, we recieved a distress call from a Federation civilian freighter making a delivery from Deep Space Five to Avalon. The message was fuzzy, so the details are sketchy, but the word 'Heraan' could be heard in the message quite clearly. We're sorry you couldn't have time for an official shakedown, but we have need of you, as you're the nearest combat-ready ship in the area. The Iroquois is to depart immediately along the freight route, find the freighter, and defend it if possible. You have already been cleared for disengagement. Good luck, Iroquois, Karelia out."

Will smiled. "I think we can scrounge up something for you to do," he said with a smirk. "Hal, would you please transfer the official command codes to Captain Lurado, please?"

"Thank you, but it's not me that needs the welcoming. You deserve this, and it's been a long time coming."

Will looked to his PADD, and then spoke. "Computer, bring Hal online."

Admiral Karelia stepped onto the bridge of the Iroquois, holding a PADD firmly in his hand, waiting for Captain Lurado to finish his business.
